I couldn’t put this book down. Kevin Kwan paints such a great world and his characters are so rich in details and humanity. I understand why this is such a popular book and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a fun, enjoyable book.
The final instalment of the Crazy Rich Asians series and another entertaining romp into the lives of the rich and... richer. As with book two, the focus is spread across several plots, rather than from Rachel's perspective. A few unexpected turn of events. A fun drama read.
This was a "beach read" for me (not at an actual beach... though partly read at a water park). Fun and fast, filled with preposterous characters. The writing is not amazing or literary, the characters are all over the top, and the plot is a roller coaster - but I devoured the trilogy just the same. The perfect beach read.
This trilogy has put me on such a journey. I couldn’t put the book down and I wanted to see what would happen. I love the culture described throughout the book and this is an awesome piece to sit and discuss in a bookclub.

It was a really fun read and if you're looking for something light or you love drama then you should definitely pick this up. This is an altogether different world to explore. . . ⏩Ratings : . Both the books : 4/5 . . ⏩ MOVIE ADAPTATIONS 🍿 . Crazy rich Asians is adapterd into a movie . It's available on Amazon Prime.
I was a huge fan of the film, and even cried during the wedding scene. I've seen the movie three times now, and as a British-born Chinese, I felt such a strong connection to most of the characters. The main aspect of the books that I enjoyed were the cultural and linguistic descriptions. What an amazing writer, to be able to capture readers into such a vivid world! I rated the book down a little, because I couldn't quite build a stronger emotional connection with some of the characters. Although, growing up in an International school in Asia, I could picture them - I just didn't find them all too interesting. Probably because to me, it was too reminiscent of my high school days. I found myself skimming through the book just so I could read Astrid's chapters. Now, that's a character I ADORED.
The writer, Kevin Kwan presents the lives of Asian JetSets inspired by true stories. Rich people whose wealth does not run out of seven generations, have private jets, travel abroad, study at favorite universities in America and England. They even have a have a private island in Indonesia.
In my opinion, the novel has too many descriptions, sometimes I get sleepy. Characters and conflicts are less exciting, just flat. The part that really kicks, makes me emotional is the part on the last few pages. Why wasn't it like that from the start, like I felt that the previous part and the ending were different writers.
liked the style of writing were you knew everyone’s thoughts. especially as the movie i feel is only from rachel’s pov i enjoyed seeing everyone’s perspective.
the view of Singapore is a bit skewed as at one point piek lin says that no one lives in houses anymore. but i lived in a house in singapore, and my friends did too. and i can say i am neither crazy rich nor asian.
also i don’t know how well it stands as a stand-alone book. i feel a lot was left unresolved (or resolved itself in one page at the end) and i need to read the second one.
In the book Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan the main character Rachel Chu finds out that her boyfriend's family is the richest family in china. There is a lot of conflict throughout the book because Rachel is getting married but she is not rich and bougie like the rest of the people in the family. In the end they get married and go on to live away from their rich family. I chose this book because my mom told me I should read it so I did. I didn’t really like how it ended because they moved away but then they didn’t really talk about what their life was like after.

Fun soap-opera-ish story… over the top rich nuts (Kitty and Eddie)… nice feel-good ending…it was a fun and easy read, like the others. Not really “deep” or anything, but it does highlight the ridiculous nature of chasing after money or fame or beauty or reputation. It’s all so empty. Wish the ending had been Charlie and Astrid’s wedding though. Peik Lin and Alistair’s marriage just seemed to come out of nowhere.

There's too much character in it and sometimes I get confused. But overall the book is okay for me and how the author explains their house in detail is just amazing. I felt overjoyed reading this book as I love pretending I'm rich and pretending I'm Rachel Chu. If you think the people in Crazy Rich Asians is wealthy then read this and get ready.
