Savannah Rylan is a romance writer that spends most of her time writing and reading with her cat, Gris. When not penning the next great American novel, (HA), you can find her on the beach with a drink in her hand or at the gym testing out some strange new position. Yoga, obviously. She lives in Southern California with her husband and Gris, the true love of her life.
Brewer is in the Dead Souls MC. His club is trying to find the rat within the group. Someone keeps giving information to the feds and a rival biker gang. Brewer wants to put an end to the rat so they can get on with their lives.
Makenna moved from Texas to get a fresh start for and her daughter. Her husband died in the military and she caught her ex-boyfriend cheating on her.
Brewer watches Makenna and Ana move into the house next door. He goes over to meet them and helps them put the house together. The next morning Makenna shows up at his front door asking for a ride because her car died. Brewer takes Ana to school and drops Makenna off at an interview. Makenna asks Brewer to puck up Ana and watch her she has to stay and work after getting the job. Brewer is amazed at how much Ana is growing on him and how much he likes being with her.
The MC has a plan to get rid of the leader for the rival MC. Before executing that plan Brewer tries to have one last night with Makenna. It didn't go as plan and she left. The rival MC took her place. Will he be able to survive the the rival MC? Will hE and Makenna make up if the rival MC doesn't kill him first? Who is the rat and why is he talking to the rival MC?
Oh my gosh... this is such a great book. I was at the edge of my seat. It will keep you guessing till the end on who has been ratting them out and you'll never believe who it is. Now I have to wait till the next book to find out what happens.
Brewer was the third book in the Dead Souls MC by Savanah Rylan.
This review will be short and sweet. I’ve enjoyed the series to date, but I enjoyed this one the most. And although I’ve loved all of the MC characters, the suspenseful plot had been the draw so far. And Brewer was no exception.
Brewer was anti-relationships due to dangers surrounding the MC life; however, when Makenna moved in next door with her young daughter Anna, Brewer then understood how two of his MC brothers fell without looking back. The sparks were immediate and Rylan took us through their development without much drama. Simultaneously, the MC saga continued to build and finally came to a crescendo at the conclusion of Brewer. It ended in a cliff hanger, but not a relationship cliff hanger, an MC plot cliff hanger - which, for me, was perfect.
Rock is next and I can’t wait to see how Rylan continues to unravel the suspense.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third book in the Dead Souls MC series. In this book, the MC on verge of a war and the RICO case is still hanging over their heads. There is still a rat in the club and they have no idea who it is. With Grave and Knox both having pregnant girlfriends, Diesel wants to keep them out of the line of fire. Brewer decides it should be him to handle the threat to the club. Brewer meets his new neighbor Makenna, a single mother to five year old Ana, and he is instantly attracted to her. Brewer helps Makenna move in and then plays with Ana in the yard. The next morning when Makenna is in a rush to get Ana to school and go to a job interview, her car breaks down so she asks Brewer for a ride. Brewer ends up fixing Makenna's car and babysitting Ana. Makenna moved from Texas to leave a bad relationship and she is unsure if she can start another one right away, but she is drawn to Brewer. Brewer and Makenna have amazing chemistry and soon they act on their feelings. Brewer is torn because he knows he has to handle a job for the club and he wants to keep Makenna and Ana safe. The night before he is to leave, Brewer is attacked in his home and Makenna calls the garage where he works and gets in touch with Rock, who get the MC to come to the rescue. I love this series. I really enjoyed Brewer's story. I thought he was a great guy and he really cared for Makenna and Ana. I love how he was so playful with Ana and treated her like his own. This book does end in a bit of a cliff hanger and i can't wait to continue the story. Great one.
I don't know what it is with this series but I am just not connecting to any of these characters. Brewer goes on and on how he doesn't like kids and doesn't want to settle down. The new HOT neighbor moves in with her 5 yr old daughter and he is all over it. McKenna just left her job and her ex who was cheating on her and moves to Redding. She isn't looking for another relationship and yet the day after she moves into her new home she is sleeping with Brewer. The worst part is she leaves her daughter home alone asleep while she runs next door to have sex with Brewer. I dont' care if she was just next door it only takes a second for something to happen. She cared more about herself than her daughter. IMO this is the dumbest group of bikers I have ever read about. The RAT is so obvious and not a one of them has a clue until the end. As far as I can figure out McKenna has been at her job for maybe a week or less and she is already taking a leave so she can take care of Brewer. NOT realistic. This author just seems to write to get words on a page and doesn't seem to be realistic with her facts. Monroe is about to have a baby and yet they haven't told her employer? Eight months pregnant with twins at that and no one notices? Your been giving a disservice for the people who you have editing and proof reading are not giving it to you straight.| BTW is Mckenna's hair red or brown? Make up your mind!!!
Listened to audio narrated by Paul Brion and Melissa Barr. Overall I enjoyed their narration but on occasion Brion's narration flattened out, making the story feel less dynamic and there were a few spots where Barr's narration made Makenna sound very whiney which I didn't like.
Makenna is a single mom that moved next door to Brewer. Brewer can't seem to help getting involved in their lives as Ana and her daughter charm him. Makenna wisely wants to keep her distance from a one percenter MC member but when his life is endangered it all goes out the window and both of them have to face their feelings for each other.
These guys steam up the sheets but their story isn't quite over at the end of this book. Ryan leaves us with a cliffhanger, but we do finally find out who the mole is in the club.
While I liked this story it has some editing and believability problems. Makenna left her daughter home alone to go next door to get it on with Brewer, really didn't fit with the characterization of the protective mother. There's also a point in the book where Monroe is eight months pregnant but they say her employers aren't aware of her pregnancy, it really isn't very believable.
damn SR with your cliffhangers. Brewer's story was so unbelievably sweet. He has a new neighbor and that neighbor has a five year old daughter. He sees this single mother working hard to care for her child and remembers how hard his own mother worked, so he decides to help out. He builds a sweet friendship with the little girl and then the chemistry kicks in with the mom. Meanwhile at the club… we're STILL trying to figure out who the rat is. No one seems to know who but all their plans in the past have been busted wide open. There's a member in jail and the rival MC had hired then a lawyer to get him out and testify against the DEAD SOULS, so the club comes up with a plan to get rid of him. SHOCKER… That plan is a bust. But right before the book ends, we think we know for a fact who it is… then cliff 〽️hanger. This book was so good. I loved how sweet Brewer was with the little girl and how fiercely hot he was with the mom, but never lost that biker edge. I did kind of hope that they would spend more time at the club but that is something small and considering the club's issues it's totally understandable.
OMG Savannah Brewer is a great addition Dead Souls MC #3 series, So this Brewer and Makenna plus the most adorable little girl Ana. So Makenna moves in next door Brewer and both notice each other and feel that instant attraction, They don't want to act on it because Brewer been in the MC and Makenna only getting out of a bad relationship. There chemistry was explosive, The Club is still dealing with a RAT 🐀 that needs to be flushed out plus theres plenty of action that will keep you turning to the next page find out what will happen next. So thats it you get no more from me i don't do spoilers. A must read, I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy. HEADS UP I THINK NO WHO THE RAT IS, I HAVE TO WAIT .
This is book #3 in the MC series. However, they are all written as standalones. You don't need to read the other books in the series.
Brewer, with the MC, he has the police contacts, and knows what’s going on in and around town. His best friend Rock, and he joined the Devils Souls MC Club right out of high school. They have been side by side ever since, both bachelors in life. One afternoon when Brewer reruns home he sees a moving van across the street at the vacant house. Then he sees her, he has to find out who she is.
Makenna and her daughter - Ana, have newly arrived in Redding, CA. Makenna needs a change after she kicked her boyfriend out after she caught him sleeping with a co-working. Makenna can’t seem to take her eyes off the handsome neighbor across the street.
Brewer was against having relationships until he met Makenna. He wanted her in the worst way possible.
Makenna wanted Brewer just as much. But would he want a little girl and a girlfriend? Would he accept them both?
I did receive a free ARC book in exchange I am freely leaving a review.
This series gets better with each book and the under lying story gets more comp!ex. This is Brewers story, he is a strong alpha male but with a total sense of decency in his make up. When Makenna and her daughter Ana move in next door he is immediately drawn to them and it doesn't take long for them to be the highlight of his life. The only problem being the motorcycle club and she is scared to get involved with him because of it. Everything comes to a head when the rival club break into his home and start shooting it up during this he is shot and badly injured Makenna saves him by calling his club who come to the rescue. During the attack he managed to injure one of the men in the ankle and thigh. Whilst in the hospital recovering he realises who the rat is that has been feeding information to their rivals but he seems to go into cardiac arrest we need the next book to find out what happens next. It . The story is getting more involved with each book and just grabs the readers attention. A really good read.
This MC Series by Savannah Rylan just keeps getting better and better with each member. This book is about Brewer and Makenna and her five year old daughter Ana. They just moved next door to Brewer and there is an immediate attraction between the two and it comes to fruition within a couple of days. Meanwhile the club is still dealing with a rat in the membership and everyone is on edge. Plans are drawn up on how to catch the person when the rival gang attacks Brewer in his home and shoots him although Brewer shoots and wounds several especial one in the ankle and knee. Brewer ends up in the hospital where He and Makenna declare their love and where one member comes to visit and as the member leaves takes note of the limping and blood. He realizes, as the book ends, who the rat is. Now we wait for the finale. I love this book and highly recommend it. (Note: I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book.)
This MC story is about Mackenna who is a single mom and new to the neighborhood and Brewer who is another hot sexy MC Dead Souls member. There is an instant attraction between them and they both try to fight it but it becomes too hard. Brewer helps out Mackenna on her second day and he becomes attached to her daughter, Ana who lights up your heart! Brewer and his club have been try to deal with the rat and along the way Brewer has an inter struggle to keep Mackenna and Ana away and safe from him. They both realize that what they feel for one another is more, love. As the club puts in place a plan to deal with the rat inside their club all heck breaks lose and Brewer ends up shot and in the hospital along with Mackenna stepping up for him. Brewer has a memory at the end of the story and he blacks out! What an ending... I can not wait until the next story to see what happens. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Savannah is an excellent writer and one of my favorite authors. She has proven again her skill in writing a story that is so captivating that I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with the characters, immediately. Brewer is a member of the Dead Souls MC. There is a rat in the club causing serious problems. Makenna and her daughter Anna have moved next door to Brewer. She is a single mother trying to make a new start. When Brewer and Makenna meet there is an instant and undeniable attraction. Brewer helps Makenna move in and repairs her car. He tries to stay away from Makenna and Anna because he doesn't want to put them in danger. This MC romance involves lots of action, suspense, drama and steamy sex. The superb writing and complex characters make this exciting story a pleasure to read. “Brewer” is definitely worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I have been enjoying all of these books so far, but there is one thing about this one that stands out as potentially dangerous to me.
There is one part where Anna is telling her mom about her day, and says that she enjoyed playing “the tickle game” with Brewer. She states that Brewer is ticklish under her arms and that he told her not to tell anyone.
This kind of verbiage is exceptionally dangerous and worrisome for CSA.
Now, do I think that Brewer was assaulting her. Absolutely not. So many times bad men assault children under the guise of “the tickle game”. This is something that needs to be investigated by any parent that comes across this from their children.
I just don’t feel like it should be portrayed as normal in literature.
I also really did not like that she left her daughter at home alone to go across the street to have sex with a man. It takes one second for something to happen. Leaving your five year old child at home alone is never acceptable.
With the rat in the Dead Souls MC still not found the club members are laying low This means that Brewer is spending more time at home and he can't help but notice that he has a new neighbour a single mum with a daughter. Meckenn and her daughter Anna have moved from Texas after an ex boyfriend cheated on her She hasn't had much luck in relationships her husband died in the military, but she is attracted to Brewer. Brewer knew he should stay away his life was no good for a family but he is drawn te Mackenna Brewer is drawn into the war between the rival gangs and almost pays the ultimate price but in doing so he finally realises who the traitor is and gets his HEA
Once again Savannah Rylan has written a fast paced story with plenty of romance and suspense that keeps you glued to the pages
Once again, just like in Grave, there are major inconsistencies with timelines!!! They mention that Monroe's bosses don't even know she's pregnant yet, however they mention NUMEROUS times, she's about to have the baby. So explain to me how a woman could be 8(ish) months pregnant and it's not noticable? Little things like that drove me crazy. However, I will say I liked this one better than Grave. Still bothers me that the rat is beyond obvious and no one has figured it out yet. Also, Brewer mentions the way McKenna reacts to certain things like she's been abused. He mentions wanting to hunt the guy down and hurt him. Not one time in this story does she mention being abused. Being cheated on? Yes. Being with someone she didn't really love? Yes. But never abuse. So was she abused or wasn't she? I gues we'll never know.

Not much to write about this story. It is very well written and an amazing read. Great story line and plot. I like that it is written in dual POV which gives the reader a lot more of thoughts and feelings of the main characters and makes the story and characters more real. They are very likeable. Story line flows well of the pages. Great chemistry and passion between the characters. Nice twists. A mix of drama, love, emotions, "rat", struggles and twists. A couple that has a lot thrown at them before they reach their HEA. A series about these MC guys that only gets better by the story. I can recommend it to others that likes their romances with a twist. Absolutely captivating and enjoyable read.
Brewer and the Dead Souls had a problem within their MC someone was a snitch and their enemy knew their every move. In the mean time the had to bide their time until the culprit showed their hand. Makenna has decided to move cross country after finding her ex with another woman at their place of employment of all places! Moving next door to Brewer was a positive move in fact there was a connection between them from the very start. He liked her daughter and the two were kindred spirits. Everything was moving well between them now if he can figure out who the snitch in their MC is things can go back to normal. Will they be able to find the culprit before they lose another member? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Brewer never thought he’d be the kind of guy to like kids, but Ana—the hilarious, spunky little girl next door—completely wins him over. And spending time with her? That just means more time with her mom, Makenna. She’s gorgeous, strong, and exactly the kind of woman he shouldn’t want…but damn, he does.
Their chemistry is off the charts, but getting involved with Brewer is a risk, and Makenna has her daughter to think about. Still, when danger comes knocking, Brewer knows one thing for sure—he’d take a bullet for them without a second thought.
This book had me hooked from the start! It’s got a badass, protective biker, a fierce single mom, and just the right amount of sweetness mixed with all the MC grit. If you love a tough guy with a soft spot and a romance that makes you swoon while keeping you on the edge of your seat, Brewer is a must-read!
Brewer is determined to have a separate life from the club but still maintaining club life. But when he gets a new neighbor, things change drastically in a few short exchanges!! But can Brewer have all this and more while the rat is still out there? Can he protect Makenna and her daughter?
Makenna wants to start fresh and do right by her daughter and the memory of her deceased husband. Brewer makes her want more and more. But can she get involved with him knowing there is danger?
This is another excellent story in the series. I can't wait to see what happens next!! Loved this book!!! Brewer may be my favorite so far. I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Okay Brewer may be my favorite book of this series so far. Brewer seems so unobtrusive. You know he is a strong alpha who means business but maybe not that he is a 1 percent error. And how he plays with Ana just melts your heart. Makenna is a single mom just looking to make her daughter's life better than her's. The instant attraction between the two was immediate and caught both off guard. I'm thrilled the rat was discovered, and happy I guessed who is was during the last book. Can't wait to see what happens to him. This book does end in a bit of a cliffhanger. Can't wait for Rock'star book. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
I’m a glutton for punishment. It’s the only explanation as to why I keep reading this series. With the inconsistencies, bad grammar, hair color change on the h (brown to red to brown again?! Ugh!) my reasoning to keep reading is this: This was my favorite book so far. I like the storyline. I like the characters. I want to know who the mole is!! These would by five star books if the author fixed what was wrong.
Ms Rylan, your betas and ARC team are doing you a disservice by not telling you what is wrong with your books. Your editor isn’t doing their job. You should want to take the criticism given and fix it all.
The Mc is trying to find a mole. Within its ranks, who is endangering the families and the MC itself. Brewer, has his head full of questions and needs to find out what would cause them to turn on the MC, and is being a threat. in comes his neighbor and her little girl, who he is smitten with. They circle each other trying to deny that they are in lust with each other. When a dangerous situation hits brewer, she proves she has what it takes to be in his life and a apart of his world. Together with her little girl they forge a strong family built with love.
Brewer and McKenna are unlikely neighbors. A single, divorced mother of a five year old daughter and a 1 percenter. Though their attraction is not immediate, Ana, Mckenna's daughter and a series of unfortunate incidents bring them together. Will they have a chance to be together or will "the rat" take Brewer out before they get the chance.
I had a feeling of who "the rat" was and I think I know but it seems a bit too obvious. Guess I just have to keep reading to find out if I am right.
I chose this rating because this was a really great book. I really enjoyed this book and most of the characters. I really like that Brewer and McKenna got together and he really adored her little girl Ana. This was a book of being a good neighbor. Helping each other out and they ended up falling in love. And I also like the way Brewer interacted with McKenna's daughter. But at the end of this book man it was a real shock but it's gonna pour over into the next book. I will be happy when you come out to. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance and MC readers.
I'm really loving this series, it's so full of happenings, not a single second spare to get bored with it. This one has just left me so frustrated with a king sized cliffhanger. My 1st inclination is to start book 4 but it was the early hrs before I got to bed last night so guess I'll wait till tomorrrow. Each book has an individual storyline, but is part of an overall huge story which is throughout the series. Been a long time since a book or series has grabbed me like this, brilliant Sue P
Even though she moved into a small town with her sassy daughter brewer got caught up in her overall personality but it was her daughter that done most of the work b4 she could. Brewer was trying 2 b good good and not get involved but once the heart decided on certain things it's hard 2 change its mind. Thank God she called and got help when he needed it the most. The damn ray will pay 4 everything he caused 2 everyone but once they figure it out hopefully there will b 1 he'll of a good answer on why.
Quite possibly my favorite of the series so far!!! As the Dead Souls still contemplate their "rat", a new plan goes into action... Makenna and her daughter Ana move in next door to Brewer and although both adults want to keep a distance, it doesn't seem to work out that way. We have a "rat" cliffhanger that I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
This is a really good read. This MC romance offers a great blend of suspense, action, drama, danger and powerful emotions. The intense attraction and hot chemistry between Makenna and Brewer adds plenty of steam to this engaging read. Ana was adorable and I loved her connection and interactions with Brewer. This does end on a cliffhanger, so be aware before reading! I am posting a totally honest and completely voluntary review of this fantastic read.
I really like the way the stories continue from one book to the other in the series but also focus on a specific couple. The troubles with the rat in the MC continue yet we get to see how things develop between Brewer, Makena and her precocious five year old daughter Ana.
I highly recommend this series to all MC book lovers but this particular book for those who love Single mom meet MC neighbor. Series needs to be read in order.
Another intricately woven story in this series, a protector, that oozes raw masculinity and a self assured woman that holds nothing back. The Dead Souls brotherhood has danger in their circle and secrets that threaten their entire existence. Add an unexpected connection and enemies to deal with makes for a story that keeps you wanting more. Anticipating the next book in this series.
