(An estimated 50,000 young people in Britain today take on the responsibility of caring for a relative who is ill or disabled. These young carers were, until recently, a neglected group in society. In this book, they speak of their experiences and their relationships with adult professionals.)
I grew up my whole life with a disabled dad and helping care for him. This book really opens your eyes to the realities of children all over who care for their parents and siblings and how it can truly affect us years to come. I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to anyone else who wants to know more.
