Ex-SEAL Evan Brooks let his insecurities drive him away from Blair Sullivan, but neither one of them has gotten over the end of their relationship. When Blair's life is threatened by an arsonist with a grudge against her firefighter father, Evan comes back into Blair's life to keep her safe, and sparks fly once more.
Shielding Blair is a good book, with interesting characters and a solid story line. As far as the Operation Alpha novels, it's middle of the pack - good enough, but it doesn't quite live up to the legacy Susan Stoker left behind. Still, it's an enjoyable (if short) read.

Another great addition to the “Fierce Protectors” series. Blair Sullivan, kindergarten teacher, finds out that the man she has been dating is not really interested in her and has walked away. She is not one to hold on to something or someone when it is not to be, so she has moved on with her life. Evan Brooks is a partner in Fierce Investigations along with Dylan, Cole and Slyder. It was hard for him to walk away from Blair, but his dangerous past could be too much for her to handle. When Blair’s father approaches Evan, it is not about his breakup with Blair but to ask for help as he has received a threat against her life. Blair’s father is the Fire Chief and arson incidents have been happening that seem to be related to Blair’s past. When Evan walks back in to her life, he insists he will protect her and Blair knows that this time she may not be able to protect her heart. Evan’s entire team gets involved and will do all that they can to find out who is threatening her and why. Every book in this series is wonderful, the characters so easy to fall in love with and the suspense keeps you turning the pages…you have to see what happens next! Ms. Hagen has continuing characters in the series so you are updated on their stories as they join the fight to protect Blair. If you are looking for hot romance, action, great stories and characters, I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Hagen’s books! When Evan is tracked down by Blair’s father, he thinks it’s because the Fire Captain’s mad that Evan broke up with his daughter. Boy is he in for a shock! He’s informed that Blair’s life’s in danger and Evan is needed to protect her. After verifying that Blair’s life is truly in danger, he resolves himself to the idea that he and the rest of the Fierce team will do everything in their power to protect her at all costs. Even if it means that Evan’s her shadow 24/7.
Blair’s not happy that Evan’s back in her life. He dumped her and she still doesn’t understand why. Now he’s back and he’s going to be around all the time, how’s her heart going to heal?

Shielding Blair is part of the Operation Alpha world and is a Fierce Protectors novella. Evan is used to being closed off and protects his heart from any possible harm, just like he protects others. But his newest case is going to test his boundaries as he’s going to be guarding Blair, his pseudo ex, and the one woman who could break through his shields. Blair isn’t thrilled with the assignment, either, thinking everyone is overreacting and not wanting to work with the man who has her heart. But as the danger steadily draws closer, will Evan be able to shield Blair from any harm and his heart or will one fall victim?
Oh my, I really enjoyed this book! It may be my favorite in the series, honestly! I loved the dynamic between Evan and Blair! He was so haunted and closed off, but definitely a hero while Blair was everything light and open, but still determined. Evan was trying to stay closed off from the world, trying to avoid hurt, but I loved that he couldn’t avoid Blair and the feelings she evoked in him. I loved that Blair was sweet and able to listen, really a relatable character, but she also had this little vixen in her that just attracted and dug into Evan! There was drama, steam, and love that kept me turning pages until the very end. I could not put the book down until I finished the book and I already want to go back and reread it! If you enjoy romantic suspense, this book is the book for you!

I have come to really enjoy this series and knowing that even though it’s a novella, Ms Hagen will deliver an outstanding story. This one once again, demonstrates her talent.
This story belongs to Evan Brooks and Blair Sullivan. Evan, a former SEAL, is one of the partners of Fierce, a company whose goal is to protect those in need. He is still dealing with the guilt of not protecting a family while in Pakistan. He feels that anyone he gets close to, will suffer and be destroyed because of him. Blair is a kindergarten teacher, with a heart of gold, but also a strong woman. They dated for a month until he decided to cut her off. But when her life is in danger, Evan is determined to keep her safe.
A story with an engaging, and fast fast paced plot. The characters are well developed . And true to the series, it’s full of suspense, and romance. We also get a chance to visit with the characters of previous books.
All in all, another entertaining story in this series.

I received this book as an ARC for a voluntary and honest review. This is the 4th book in the series and I've read 2 of the previous ones. This is a group of former SEALS that have started as security business. All of the books can be read as a stand alone, as Ms. Hagen gives you enough insight about the previous couples. I saw foreshadowing for future books as the guys want to expand their business. Can't say I disagree there, I just wish they weren't novellas, I'd like a little more story.
In this book Evan has been asked by the local Fire Marshall to protect his daughter. He's recently received threats against his daughter, Blair. He turns to Evan because he briefly dated Blair. Evan has his baggage as most former soldiers do, and is a commitment-phobe, and ok he has his reasons. He feels that Blair is too good for him, as she's all rainbows and sunshine and a kindergarten teacher. It wasn't a far ledge for Evan to fall off of to be completely in love with Blair. In this novella I figured out who the bad guy was a lot quicker than the previous installments.

Good short story! With a novella, there are times when a writer struggles to make the readers feel a connection with the characters. There just isn’t enough time. Not so with this one! From the beginning, Ms. Hagen establishes the connection & keeps the reader involved & reading. Evan is a sympathetic figure with his determination to ignore his feelings for Blair since he knew he wasn’t good enough for her. No matter how he fought, the intensity of their feelings were greater. When Evan found out she was in danger, the stakes went higher. Blair is a teacher & can’t believe she’s in danger. She can’t believe Evan just walked away & isn’t really wanting to give him a second chance. Can Evan keep her safe? Can Blair make him realize they belong together?

This is the 4th in this Fierce series about Navy SEALS who have opened their security firm. This is Blair and Evan's story. Evan has blamed himself for things that went wrong on an assignment while he was still a SEAL. Now Blair's father, the fire department chief, comes to Fierce saying that he and Blair have been targeted by an arsonist. Evan doesn't want to take on the case but he does since he can't stand by and let Blair get hurt. They have a past together and their chemistry flares up again when they are put together. There was a lot of intrigue in this story. Even though this is the 4th book, you get caught up easily with the other couples. Casey Hagen can pack a lot of story into a short book. I can't wait to see if there are more books in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my 11th book by Casey, so clearly one of my favorite authors. I love an author who writes in dual point of view. Evan had dated Blair for a short time but ended it due to his guilt. When Blair’s father called to speak to Evan about the threat to Blair, he wants Evan and his team to protect Blair. When Evan is put in close proximity to Blair, Evan’s reluctance to want more with Blair dwindles. Will Evan succumb to his desires for Blair and bury his guilt over the past? Will Blair escape harm from the threat against her? You have to read to find out and will definitely enjoy the story.

It's another great book by Casey Hagen. Evan thinks Blair is too good for him plus he is shying away from commitment after being burned. Blair is made from sterner cloth and when she decides she wants Evan, she won't pull punches. However, she also understands that if you love someone sometimes you have to let them go. An arsonist is targeting her memories and her in turn. When it comes to the head, Evans steps in front of her to save her and the bad guy is stopped. Evan is unconscious and unknown if he'll wake up. But he comes back like a trooper and proposes to Blair almost as soon as he wakes up which she accepts. I look forward to reading more of this series and hope they beat the odds to have a family.

Ein wunderschöner, romantischer Teil der Fierce Protectors Reihe.
Evan fällt es nach einem traumatischen Kriegserlebnis schwer sich jemandem anzuvertrauen , deshalb meldete er sich nach einigen, zugegebnermaßen tollen , Dates nicht mehr bei Blair. Als Blair jedoch die Zielscheibe eines Brandstifters wird muß Evan eingreifen und die Frau seines Herzens beschützen.
Ein weiteres sehr schönes Buch aus der Operations Alpha Welt. Schöne Geschichte, tolle Charaktere alles schick. Der Showdown hätte ein bisschen ausführlicher und weniger plump sein dürfen,dies tut jedoch dem Lesevergnügen gar keinen Abbruch.
Fazit : Sollte ich mich je beschützen lassen müssen würde ich bei Fierce Protectors anrufen .

Blair became a teacher to have an impact on children's lives. Evan struggles with what happened during his military career. He thinks she is to good for him, but they heart wants what it wants. Will Blair be able to make Evan see that there is more than his ghosts? Will Evan figure out who is out to harm Blair before it is to late?
Loved this second chance romance! I loved how Blair looked at the children within her classroom and how she was determined to love Evan, but let him go if that was what he truly wanted. I didn't blame Evan for his thinking, but was happy when he finally decided to give into what was between them! Great read!

I have loved all four of these fierce alpha heroes. Going into this book, I don’t think I had any idea just how complex and deep a character Evan would be. Or that he was carrying around so much tragedy in his past. Blair may appear to be a sunny fairy princess on the surface, but she’s just as strong and independent as the other women in this series. I hope they do decide to expand the business because I’m nowhere near done reading in this world.

Determined alpha meets his match
Shielding Blair by Casey Hagen is a great novella that offers the reader a lot in a short story. Great characters, suspenseful storyline and of course the brooding alpha determined to stay away from the one he wants most for her own sake. Blair, a sweet and seemingly shy teacher shows Evan she's nobody's pushover.
Casey Hagan gives you the hot guy with all the right moves and then makes him fall and fall hard right into a HEA with Blair.

The first chapter of the book is from Evan's perspective and I found it a little confusing. Had he already met Blair? Who was the woman he almost married? How did he feel about Blair? The second chapter was from Blair's perspective and made the story crystal clear for me. I couldn't stop reading from that point on. Although I found the timeline was very quick. Lots of alpha males (i love me some military men), independence females, danger and hot sex. Book does end in an HEA.

Guilt and fear have kept Evan from having a "serious" relationship. Blair was the last casualty of this fact. When Blair's life is in danger, Evan doesn't hesitate to come to her aid. With the chemistry still hot between the two, is there a chance Evan can put the past behind him and look towards a future with Blair? This is the fourth book in the series and just as great as the other three.

FANTASTIC ROMANTIC ADVENTURE
An intense read. Evan is an ex Seal and now a part own of a Investigation and Protection group. Blair is a school teachers met while on a prior assignment and they didn't part in the best of terms. They reunite in this story as her father hired Evan's group to protect her from an arsonist's threat. As his group search for this threat, romantic tension looms between Evan and Blair. Highly entertaining.

Evan and blair had been dating until he felt she was hoping for wedding bells. Now Blair is in trouble and her dad who is the chief of the fire department comes to Evan for help. A fire bug is out to get even with her dad by going after her. Evan has a lot of bad memories about his time in the military with nightmares too boot, so he doesn't want to get close to anyone. The story is well written with a strong story line.

This was an enjoyable fast read with drama, suspense, assists from Tex, Dude and Mozart and hot chemistry between Evan and Blair.

Yes to Shielding Blair
Shielding Blair is a good story with angst, suspense, strong characters. I have to say all of Hagen's characters are different and I am liking that female leads have been strong willed and determined. I feel this series keeps getting better and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I loved the appearance of Mozart, Dude and of course Tex. Every Operation Alpha book needs Tex in the storyline at least in my opinion. Happy Reading!!

I received a copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I chose to review it. I loved this book. It was well written. I loved the characters, they both were strong and caring. This is the first Casey Hagen book that I have read but it will not be the last one. I encourage you to get this book it is worth your time and effort. This was a quick easy read for me.

Wow, This Warms You Up
A very well written story from the author. It has some familiar characters along with some new. All are awesome. It's a story packed with action cover to cover. There is a minimum of sexual content. It keeps readers riveted to the pages. Once you start you have to finish it. I loved the characters and story. I'm glad Boots survived.

I really enjoyed this story. It may be short, but it doesn't feel too short with all the great characters, romance and suspenseful storyline. I'd definitely read this author again.

Fight fire with fire
Good, quick read. Evan is a die hard commitment phobe and dumps Blair because he believes she's too good for him. Blair is kind but no pushover and when he comes back into her life to protect her from an unknown enemy, he has to decide whether to let her in.

Hidden truths
Sometimes people will do anything to keep their emotions hidden but when the one you're hiding from is in trouble how do you stay away and can you keep her protected and safe. Loved it!!
Sometimes people will do anything to keep their emotions hidden but when the one you're hiding from is in trouble how do you stay away and can you keep her protected and safe. Loved it!!
