Creative Commissions: Volume One

These eighteen pieces are a showcase of the best works to come out of the 2017-2018 Creative Commissions Project. Each year, Creative Commissions brings young artists and their teachers in direct conversation with working artists in their field. The 2017-2018 project paired a student or ensemble with a composer that created a work based on the student's current technical and musical abilities, personality, and interests. This gives the student(s) a unique opportunity to gain positive access to contemporary music, as well as coaching from the actual composer. Volume One of the project contains works by Daniel Harrison, Cara Haxo, Brian Raphael Nabors, Adam O'Dell, Jason Richmond, and Andy Villemez.
