One small mistake could cost you your life. A big one could cost the lives of many.

Every first Harvest Moon of the year, when the veil between the living and the dead is most pliable, three generations of modern witches in the Syntyche coven pool their magic to commune with their ancient ancestors.

This year, however, is different. On the day of the ritual, Kismet's mother and grandmother vanish without a trace, even the essence of their souls hidden and unreachable.

Kismet knows what she has to do, she knows the risk of pushing the veil on her own. But what will it cost her?

Her body?

Her soul?

Both?

And what would it take to get those things back? It's a matter of life or death for not only Kismet, but the whole world. It's a race against a dozen different clocks and she has to find a way to right the wrongs she started, all while staying alive.

And are witch hunters supposed to make the whole thing easier? Don't count on it.

I have never read a story like this which is just awesome. We meet Kismet who is a really strong witch that starts having stuff go wrong one day. The next thing she knows she is a spirit which where the story really gets intriguing. Full of twists, turns, and surprises that will lead you to the cliff hanger ending wanting more. I cannot wait to see where this goes next. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

First I want to say that this book has one seriously stunning cover. Ok, now that I got that out I will share my thoughts on this story. At first I thought this was going to be just another paranormal read about a witch and some hunky guys or whatever. Then when this little witch does a solo spell she isn’t supposed to on her own, things got a little strange for a minute. I wasn’t sure where author Jenica Saren was going with this ghost angle, and I was not sure I was going to like the rest of the story. BUT, she finds herself in a situation with a hottie and his three friends, from there the story ended up being surprisingly great. I really loved the characters, the witch’s creed is great, the secrets and lack of communication make things just that much more interesting and then there’s a bad guy thrown into the mix! This story started off at “ok”, went to “meh”, climbed its way up to “awesome” when a bad guy and evil plot were introduced, then it sky rocketed into “oh hell ya” with that surprise ending. Definitely give this story a read, it’s sooooo worth it.

Hot lanta this book was quite the doozy. Jenica creates this mysterious new world through the eyes of a kind of dead girl. The storyline itself is unique in all of its glory and holds many surprises for the readers along the way. There are twists and turns that keep you on your toes and practically sucker punch you in the gut. Jenica continues to be someone who beautifully crafts intriguing characters that you can't help but be mesmerized with. She is able to give you a strong female character and at the same time isn't afraid to show their vulnerabilities.

Kismet is willing to risk all she has for the people she cares about. She struggles to connect with others, and when she finds her people she will do whatever is necessary to protect them. There are times she is in situations that would make most people break, but instead she uses her dry humor and quick wit to make the best of her situation. Kismet is really the only witch who could take on the impossible task she is faced with, and really is probably the only one fit to corral the witch hunters she's stuck with. What started as a fight for her family turned into a fight for so much more than that, and she never expected to be fighting right alongside 4 men she was raised to fear.

Jenica consistently is able to give reverse harems where each of the men have their own unique personalities and they don't blend into one voice. The shenanigans Kismet puts these men through are comical, morally questionable, and are exactly what they are missing in their lives. Jadwin the ever serious bad boy with a chip on his shoulder. Hansen the silent brooding type. Zephyr the playful jokester. Lastly we have Gavyn, the openminded one with a heart of gold. They each provide a dynamic that Kismet craves, whether she needs it or not. Her relationships with the men are definitely a slow burn, but by the end of the book you can definitely feel the connections that have developed between them all.

I'm swooning, Captain, swooning! Jenica had me connecting to every single one of the characters in this book and I cannot wait to see how their relationships grow from here. Oh my lanta the secrets behind the big bad have me on the edge of my seat and scrambling my brain with all sorts of conspiracy theories. The cliff-hanger at the end is one of those hurt so good moments that you can't help reading again and again. I'll be eagerly pacing my room waiting for the next book.

Kismet is a college student, despite being a witch, she's pretty normal.

Well... besides the obsession with all, and any sandwiches.

Kismet is a girl who is a loyal friend, she may have little patience sometimes but she does have a good heart.

She finds herself in a situation, as well as thrown loop holes.

Poor ghost Kismet , alone, unable to eat sandwiches.

Despite the situations that she finds herself in, she is doing pretty well.

Good thing she doesn't have to be alone for long.

On the way she forms relationships and connections in such a short time.

It's crazy how the bonds formed, and as a unit. They're wonderfully matched.

It was much shorter than I had thought, however it was done in no time, I had trouble putting it down.

Kismet is just a normal girl who happens to be a witch. When she can’t find her Mom and Gran she decides to magically find them. Well, things go astray and she’s.... well read and find out. Along her journey to find her handily she meets 4 guys and they are not what she expected.
This was very well written and very crative. I love that the MC talks like a real person. She says what I’m thinking. She doesn’t solely depend on a man to rescues her. She has her own mind and isn’t afraid to tell someone off. In a nice way of course.
I love Jenica’s style of writing. It’s very smooth and she’s got a sense of humor. Very well done! And stunning cover! My favorite so far!!

Spectacular start to a new series. The story line is very intriguing and different then anything I have read. I really love the different take on witches and witch hunters. It was refreshing to read and new angle on them. I love the details isn't to terribly long, you get a lot of description and a lot of information that helps create the world that Kismet and the hunters are a part of. The characters are awesome and I really like how its not insta love and it is interesting how sheltered Kismet is. The book drawls you in and is a total page turner, I couldn't put it down. Now I'm patiently or maybe not so patiently waiting for book 2 to continue on Kismet's journey!

Great intro to a new series

What a great intro to a new series. Kismet is funny, quirky, clumsy and good! So good and lives by the witches creed of "and harm none" to such an extent that she's always honest, doesn't lie and doesn't pick favorites.

The guys are a good mix and each one has a secret. But despite their status as witch hunters, they decide to help Kismet with the little dilemma of getting her body back.

This is a solid 4 star book, but I believe the series will get to 5 stars. Can't wait for book 2!

I love Ghosted & soon-to-be-series! (Oh, this Ghosted doesn't necessarily mean ghosted like to freeze you out completely.) I think most could relate to Kismet because she's, for the lack of a better term, adorkable & clumsy. To avoid me giving spoilers in my reviews (it's kind of funny how when people ask me face-to-face about my opinion on a book or movie, I usually answer with 1 word, so I like to )kind of think I'm better at this when behind a screen lol). Anywho, what was I typing, oh yes, book 2, Spirits, is a MUST read & I'd totally recommend this series to everyone.

Kismet

This was a different take on a story and witches and hunters. While things start slow, our is well worth the read. Kismet is fun, snarky, and good to the core. The guys are the perfect combo of mysterious and caring. This book is a great read and the ending has left me craving more of the story.

Emotionally Gripping.

The ending of this book killed me in a way I couldn’t imagine! I am going to say if you like to laugh, get this book. If you like a little tears, get this book. If you like smart comments and flat humor, get this book but be warned Jadwin is my man I will lick him if needed hahaha.

Holy Goddess

First, I have to say, this was a beautiful build...plenty of laughs throughout and a little soul searing pain for Kismet (and obviously the reader). I could only be happier if there were some “good times” with our girl and her witch hunters! Fixing to dive into the next!

Second, Jenica Saren, lady....SOOOO worth the wait 😉

I love the cover for this one. The story has a slight immature feel to it, though that’s probably Kismet. Short and either feels a little rushed or just generous on the surprises. Favourite character was Gavyn but could easily be Zeph. Ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading the next one.

Nice start to this series - witches and hunters. Enjoyed meeting Kismet and all her quirks and foibles. The guys all have their plusses and minuses-as should be expected. LOVED how they met - very interesting and amusing! This has a lot of promise - can't wait for 2!

I enjoyed the overall plot and writing from the author, but the character relationships were very shallow, and I was getting strong reminders of the Dark Side series by Kristy Cunning . It was a very quick read (novella-length) and many of my critical points may have been helped by fleshing out the world more in a longer novel. This novella ends on a giant cliffhanger.

While the snark in the dialogue from the main character was welcome for some comedic relief, I don't think it fit in well with the rest of the writing, and it gave an odd dynamic between the main character and the rest of the men.

I did not feel that the brotherhood members, relationships with each other, and what they did was explored enough in a single novel. It's hard to believe that

Lastly, the villain ended up being a bit over-the-top evil and a chaotic mess in the final scene.

I am appreciative that this seems to be a slow-burn romance without insta-love and bed scenes so far. There is insta-lust and protectiveness due to everyone's hotness, but it's not out of the realm of believable.
