Trace Rivers only ever wanted to be one thing when he grew up, a firefighter. Luckily for him, he has four older brothers that wanted to be ranchers like their father. His parents were okay with their youngest being a firefighter, they just wish he didn’t feel the need to do so in a completely different state. Wanting to get away from the overbearingness that his family could be, he decided to accept a job in Sulfur Springs Wyoming.
Hawke Knotts life is a lie. His entire life, he grew up believing Denver was his brother. Oh how wrong he was. At the insistence of a close friend, Denver comes clean about just who he is because after a manipulative ex-girlfriend drove Hawke away from their home, he fears he may lose him forever. Can Hawke ever forgive Denver for deceiving him?
When one of Hawke’s high school friends suggests he swing by the firehouse to say hi, little does he know that the probie is about to introduce him to Lieutenant Trace Rivers, his direct boss. Never before has Hawke been so enamored with a man at first sight. Not even his boss’ husband, Logan. But will Trace and Hawke be able to see where their mutual attraction goes? Or will a vengeful arsonist destroy their developing romance? Can Trace rescue Hawke in time when his life is put in danger?
Rescuing My Angel is the second book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin off, but it isn’t a requirement that you read that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be seen, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple and may be read as a standalone, you will receive maximum enjoyment reading them in order. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.
Okay. I admit I'm totally addicted. I. Love the spin off and I hope that there will. Be more to this series. I can spend the. Whole weekend just reading Ryan's work. Love the fact that you go through different emotions. Thank you for. Sharing your wonderful talent. I'm hoping Tristan gets his story heard as well dying to. Know what happened to him after his discharge.....
shares an apartment with friend and workmate, Cody. Hawke recently found out his brother, Denver, was really his Dad. Lieutenant Trace, 30, has a big house and a Maine Coon Cat named Baxter.
has his eye on Hawke, and needs to ask him out. Each man has crazy hours, but are willing to try. Virgin Hawke feels awkward, because he's unsure of what to do, but Trace moves slowly with their hot sexy times, and they learn about each other over time. Hawke's Dad, Denver, broke up with his horrible girlfriend, and she'll cause big trouble later on. Yikes !
We see several story lines, as Walker's folks died, Denver is expanding the ranch to be a Spa, Denver and Hawke have a heart-to-heart, there is an arsonist, a job change coming, and their friends and co-workers are in the wonderful mix. Have a tissue handy, because the injuries are rough and the near death event rocks everyone.
I like this series so much, but I think, even though they may be okay as a stand alone, you'll be missing out on knowing all of these marvelous characters. Some plots do continue to the next book, too.
I like the older /younger, smaller/larger, and the interesting character's back stories. ENJOY !
I hate not finishing books it’s actually a pet peeve of mine. However, this book was written in a very confusing unrealistic way. I’m sorry but Hawke and Denver’s relationship was hard to believe from the beginning. I don’t want to spoil anything for those that do wish to read the book so I wont go into crazy detail but that blew my mind. It wasn’t executed well. I loved the idea of the plot but I couldn’t get past page 708 on my kindle app. Way too many things were happening at once with all of the characters.
Ok so in love with Hawke and Trace. This book is definitely one you will love if you are looking for a sweet love story. No real angst at all just love love and more love. Super sweet how much Trace and Hawke love each other nothing could ripe them apart. Loved their love story and amazing HEA
0.25 stars Audio-book: Audio quality: Good, Narration: Good Writing: immature, resembles that of a tween thanks to limited vocabulary and repeating the same sentences, and sentence structure, over and over again. Not to mention the overly simplified world view and conflict resolutions. Plot: unoriginal and overused plot execution: Poor. Some statements in the story are beyond stupid. Characters: Are flat and all of them, protagonist, antagonist and side characters, are almost carbon copies with small variations.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked the connection between Hawke and Trace. I loved that the relationship with Hawke and his Dad Denver, who he’d thought that he was his older brother even though he was more of his dad the whole time wasn’t effected by Denver’s omission. I loved the friendship between Hawke, Cody and Tris. I’m glad that Hawke and Tris didn’t get hurt too much when Denver’s crazy b*tch of an ex-girlfriend who taunted and hated Hawke and basically forced him away from home while they were together went psycho and set fire to Hawke’s building and then drove her car into the stairs so the firefighters couldn’t use them as an easy access point. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens between Tris and Walker. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Rescuing My Angel is the second book of the Sulfur Springs series, and I recommend reading the first book in the series first before reading this one. This book is a contemporary romance filled with drama and danger. I enjoyed this book more than the first book since it centered around tropes I enjoy. There was the protective-trope and the age-gap-trope—tropes I am a big fan of. The drama and romance was a little bit cliched but I still enjoyed it.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Dean who did a great job with performance. The audiobook production was well done and overall an enjoyable listening experience.
Need a story that gives you a twist that things are not always as they appear - this is your book!
Hawke a baker that is now running a family retreat business. His roommate Cody both worked the Coffee place & baked until moving to the retreat. Their apartment was carried from the Fire department. Lieutenant Trace is the man watching from a far the young twenty from a distance. He keeps saying thirty too old for him but he is a month to a flame. When Hawke lived at its worse in comes the firefighter hero. They both are saved. @my2centsbooklover Thank you
Firefighter Trace had been oogling baker boy Hawke for months, but didn't think he had a chance because he was so much younger. Hawke stopped drooling over his boss's much older man now they were husbands, but really longed for that kind of connection for himself one day. Questioning his entire existence when hus family history is finally made clear, he feels lost and needs a safe haven to discover who he really wants to be. Can Trace be that embrace or will Fate steal their chance?
Hawke and Trace are adorable together! Hawke is dealing with some pretty heavy family stuff (I still don't quite get why Denver didn't tell him sooner). Trace is an amazing guy. He is sweet and kind and sexy as hell! They fit together so well. This author tends to be pretty mushy but sometimes that is just what you need.
Sometimes the time jumps were a little jarring and didn't flow quite as well as they could, but overall it was a great story.
This was everything I wanted and more. Passion, danger, romance, and some mystery too though not so much who was causing trouble but how it gets handled. Plus it was more on what's next. Talk about an awesome tease. Taylor Rylan sure can book is good and keep us wanting more.
This is the 2nd book in the Sulfur Springs series. We get to see more of Hawke and Trace. What happens when you have been crushing on the hot guy that across the street? There was some major bomb drop in this story that will make you want to hug them more. Cant wait to see what happens with the next book hopefully it is with the 2 sexy firemen. Highly recommend this book today
Yay what a wonderful book! Hawke and Trace are so sweet and amazing in this book! I love seeing familiar faces and reading their story made me so happy! Can’t wait to see them appear in other books!!
I have been waiting on Hawkes story and Taylor didn't disappoint!!! I have read all of her books and they just keep getting better and better!! Wish I could give it more than five stars!!
I enjoyed this book but expected a little more. I enjoyed the slow burn between Hawke and Trace. But I expected a little more fire and sassyness from Hawke and a little more mistery like in the rest of crooked bend and sulfur spring series.
I too think age is just a number. May/December is my absolute favorite trope. I love catching up with others characters and reading hints as to whose next. Loved the story.
This is a sweet romance between two opposite men. The book goes at a good pace and the main characters have great chemistry. A wonderful low angst contemporary MM romance.
Hawke and Trace are amazingly adorable together with just the right amount of sexy. The story is an entertaining mix drama, romance and a pinch of comedy. I definitely recommend.
This installment in the series is another wonderful read. It introduces some new characters that I will enjoy seeing in future books. I would love to move to this place for real.
I loved this book even more than the first one. This was so good. Out wasn't too angsty. There was some angst but for the most part this is a book you easily relax tho and fall in love with every character. I'm so excited for the next one.
A Firefighter and a Baker, apart they were good, together they were great. Hawke and Trace were awesome. The story was well written, nicely paced and had great characters. Very good read.
This was absolutely wonderful,I could not put it down! Definitely a must read, this was a beautiful love story, lot's of drama, a solved mystery and lots of wonderful friends. So many thanks to this great Author, Honey Bee 🐝📚💙🎶
When I first read about Hawke on Rhett and Logan's book I hated him but after reading this book I couldn't waited for him to get his happy ending. I can't wait to read the next book on this series.
