Go for a spin up a hill—when the story of a bike ride becomes an inspirational journey.
Albert Einstein once said, "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving." Ride along up and down the hills and valleys of this bike ride. Featuring lyrical text and vivid artwork, Spin shows that any mountain can be climbed. By pushing forward and pedaling around and around, anyone can spin onwards.
This story follows the bike ride of a young girl. She faces difficulties along the way, gets tired, needs rest, and ultimately perseveres and reaches her goal! This book is a good lesson for everyone in life: to never give up and keep moving forward no matter how hard it may get. I would recommend this book to early level readers as the text is very simple and easy to sound out. It also has some wonderful pictures to look at as well!
“Life is like riding a bike. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” Albert Einstein
When riding bike, as in life, it is important to keep moving. Hills aren’t as steep as they seem, lows aren’t as deep as they seem. “Keep my pace. Not a race. Do my best.”
An analogy on how to approach life. Simple, easy to understand, good spark for conversation on Habits of Mind.
I would recommend this book to young children about kindergarten- second grade. The illustrations in this book are depicted nicely. They catch your eye. Their is minimal text in this book so it would be a good book to start practicing reading aloud with children.
A quick read with a great analogy for little ones. Biking to the top of the "giant" hill can be intimidating and imposing, but bit by bit you make progress and eventually get to the top. A sweet one to encourage perseverance and determination.
