This is not a piece of literature. This is merely a very large selection of descriptive sentences put together to inspire you to buy the latest Age of Sigmar models. There is no intrigue, no real plot development, badly described l.ocations and one-dimensional `warrior` characters. It is just one battle after another in different places in a world that we have no true insight into. I read this only as I had purchased it recently and needed something to pass the time while I waited for other books to arrive. The more I read it the angrier I got. When I have read for what felt to be the 6th time in one chapter about some warriors over-coming the odds against a horde of faceless daemons (because they are awesome so pls buy them) I start to get REAL annoyed. I NEVER throw books away as I consider it a cultural sin. It`s in the bin. If I could give it no stars I would. If you want to get a little more stupid then pls go ahead and read it.

Para ser supuestamente el primero de una saga, aprueba justito. Mucha batalla y mucho Stormcast sin profundizar en el trasfondo, sin sentir que forma parte de una gran narrativa. Le hubiera sentado bien darle una vuelta. E integrar más los tres relatos que lo componen, porque da la sensación de estar incompleto. Y es una lástima, porque con un poquito más de literatura habría ganado mucho, ya que lo que cuenta es interesante.

En primer lugar me gustaría aclarar que no ha sido un libro del todo para mí. Sí me encanta la fantasía pero no tanto de ese estilo. Quería probar un libro nuevo como éste creyendo que me acabaría encantando pero no ha sido así. Tampoco ha sido una decepción. Solo me ha parecido una lectura interesante pero bastante lenta.
Y no ha sido del todo para mí porque cuenta con muchas escenas de batallas y poco más (cosa que a mí me suele aburrir) y por eso me ha costado avanzar con la historia.
Aunque he de reconocer que está muy bien detallado y escrito. Tenemos tres distintos autores pero todos ellos narran de una forma extraordinaria, elegante y casi épico. Esa forma de escritura me recuerda bastante a los libros de Dragonlance (curiosamente de esta misma editorial), muy bien narrado y fantasioso. Pero al contrario que Dragonlance, esta trama carece de aventuras y personajes a los que se les coge cariño. Son más bien personajes pasajeros y muy distantes al lector.
También me apena que no haya aparecido ni un solo personaje femenino. Todos son masculinos y eso le da al libro dureza y poca variedad. Casi todos los personajes se me asemejaron parecidos e incluso me llegaba a confundir con los nombres. Otra cosa que hacía que me costara avanzar con la lectura era la cantidad de datos y nombres que no conocía y que saturaban mi mente. Al no saber nada sobre este juego me sentía algo perdida. Por lo tanto recomiendo leer este libro con algo de conocimiento previo para no acabar perdido con la trama como me ha pasado a mí.
En resumen, es un libro cargado de datos (creo que más para los fans del juego) que no ha logrado conquistarme en ninguna de las tres historias.

Le pongo un dos de milagro, colega. Vaya peñazo, todo el rato guerra tras guerra tras guerra. Parece cuando juegas a un videojuego que estas todo el rato peleando, pero esto es peor porque no juegas.
Los personajes son monótonos, absurdos y simples. Además que ni un personaje que no sea el típico tío pesado rancio cabezon y machote. Vaya tela
No lo recomiendo, Age Of Sigmar tiene mejores libros y sino el Fantasy.
Te pierdes que flipas con los nombres, con las historias y con las batallas, ya que sólo hay batallas. Las únicas veces que se hablan es para decir "venganza" "solo los fieles" o "atrás, alzad los escudos".
Es una partida de warhammer que se hicieron la paja y pensaron "y si hacemos un libro?" Si te mola leer 200 páginas se leches y nombres raros es tu libro, sino ni lo intentes la verdad

I was very excited to start with this monstrous paperback (960 pages). I'm a Warhammer fan, playing with the miniatures, but a few hours in, I missed a lot of things. Some background, some solid character development, some tension, something. It's just battle after battle, most of them being very predictable. Can't blame the outcome of course, since we all know the Stormcasts will win every battle in the end, it's the premise of Age of Sigmar. How much I liked the novella "Hammerhal", how much I was disappointed with this one. I felt so empty and felt like I wasted too much time on this, I didn't even started volume 2. 960 pages of waiting on better times was enough.

Started off and I was really liking it but as I got further in it became hard to read. It just wasn't interesting enough just battle after battle and it felt like I was having stormcast shoved down my throught.
If anything it has made me hate stormcast.

No Risk
The writing isn't necessarily bad, but when you have a force of overpowered dudes who can't die and have no solid characterization or past other than a strong inclination for justice, it's difficult to stay too interested. By the last book I was rooting for the forces of Chaos, because at least they were interesting characters. Other than the jaunt in Ghyran, there just didn't really seem to be a risk because 99.9% of anything worth saving seems to have been nuked to oblivion.
I really tried to like it because I find the individual groups to be interesting and love the models and world building, but it just didn't have the conflict and risk necessary to be interesting.

Lo ponían como inicio de la saga Warhammer, pero este no es el mejor para hacerlo. Son relatos de batallas con muchos nombres raros que dan como conocidos. No me he enterado de la mitad con tanto prosecutor, judicator, lord-celestant.

*3.5/5* Desde que empecé en el mundo de la literatura, me ha llamado mucho la atención los libros de Warhammer. Estoy un poco familiarizada con el juego de rol, pero nunca he leído la historia completa. Por lo tanto, cuando vi este título en Masa Crítica me alegré mucho y no dudé en solicitar un ejemplar.
Tormenta de guerra es la primera parte de una saga de cuatro libros, ambientada en el mundo de Warhammer. El libro se compone de tres relatos narrados por tres autores diferentes. Al principio de la novela hay un pequeño prólogo que introduce un poco la historia.
Arrastrado por la tormenta de Nick Kyme.
Tormenta de espadas de Guy Haley.
Las puertas del Alba de Josh Reynolds.
Como podéis leer en la sinopsis, la historia es compleja, cuenta con muchos personajes y sigue la línea de los sucesos en Warhammer.
Es cierto que las personas ajenas a este mundo encontrarán al principio una pequeña dificultad a la hora de leer este libro, puesto que son muchos nombres y muchos sucesos. El caso es que a las “pocas” páginas ya te adentras del todo en el mundo sin problemas y la lectura fluye mejor. A pesar de esto, siguen apareciendo muchos nombres y mucha información a lo largo de la historia, así que lo mejor es coger papel y boli para ir apuntando todo de cara a no saturar la mente. También me gustaría comentar queexisten muchas batallas en este libro, así que si no os gusta leer fantasía épica y bélica, creo que no disfrutaréis en su totalidad de esta lectura.
La ambientación es de los puntos más positivos de esta novela, y es que este mundo está muy bien creado. Los autores han logrado describir a la perfección este mundo y transmitir la situación del mundo a nosotros, los lectores.
Con respecto a los personajes, como ya he comentado son bastantes y todos tienen su relevancia en la historia. El único punto negativo que le veo, y por lo que he estado leyendo no soy la única con esta opinión, es que no hay personajes femeninos. Por otro lado, los personajes no tienen una personalidad variada y todos ellos siguen la misma línea.
Los autores tienen una pluma muy directa y que me ha gustado mucho. Tienen la capacidad de detallar todas las batallas y sucesos de una forma muy completa y descriptiva.
Tormenta de guerra es un libro perfecto para los amantes del mundo de Warhammer y para aquellas personas que disfruten leyendo batallas épicas y muy bien descritas.

The first three or four books in this series were great, but then a blast of mediocrity hit for a few thousand pages. It ended strong, though.
I guess 18000 pages of good versus evil can't be all mind-blowing.
