Horrible book about a girl who purposefully leads two male neighbours on and plays the innocent. The two men already have a grudge against each other due to past events and she becomes the bone they fight over, to her great delight, even though she acts as if she is in vapors every time they tussle. Nothing else happens in the book. She just happens to take a walk every freaking day that coincidentally puts her in the path of one man (and collide with his lips), while daily placating the other man that she is mulling over his proposal. The two men argue. She and her erstwhile fiancé argue. They kiss and make up. Then the next morning, she takes one of her walks again, and the cycle repeats. Finally, the book ends with her AGAIN walking over to the other guy’s house and accepting his proposal while she is STILL engaged to the first guy. Suffice it to say she picked the rich guy over the poor one. Interestingly, there is one short random scene with the hero’s gold digging hall of famer ex-mistress who looks heroine up and down with a smirk and cryptic remarks. All I can say is, it takes one to know one! I picked this one mostly for the romantic title and vintage cover but it is a perfect example not to judge a book by its cover. Btw, for those who care, the enchanted ring referred to in the title is a circle of ancient stones on the hero’s property that everyone believes has some mystical power. It has absolutely no bearing on the story and I think the author just inserted it in there to justify the title.

This was an extremely boring book and I could hardly turn the pages forward to read.

Wonderful hero with a great sense of humour.

He certainly deserved better than the undecisive, self-centered and manipulative heroine.

Maybe if you pester her enough she'll agree to marry you. That is always a great start to a relationship.

First read this when I loaned the book from my local library. Enjoyable story.
