From USA Today bestselling author W Winters comes a emotionally-gripping, standalone, romantic suspense.
I didn’t need anyone to tell me; I knew he was forbidden with a single glance. He was a boy I should’ve been afraid of, and definitely a boy I should’ve never wanted. No matter how much neither of those statements were true.
From the first time I saw him, Sebastian had a hard stare that pinned me in place. And years later, it hasn’t softened. We lived on the same street and went to the same school, although he was a year ahead. Even so close, he was untouchable. He was bad news and I was the sad girl who didn’t belong.
One night changed everything.
We both had secrets. We both saw the pain in each other’s eyes. The gaze that gave me chills turned to a lust-filled haze that heated every inch of me. But that didn’t change who he was. A man who would take everything from me.
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
ღ Sebastian, Chloe bewitches me in tenth grade & over the years she still holds his heart.. 5 years later & I am still trying protect her from the evil this city has….
➳I know that I should hide my feelings from her.. Walk away from her. I am not good man & I have enemies that can use her against me. But something about her draw me closer to her
➦.. Chloe is haunted by a childhood secret. She met him after tragedy change her life forever.. Who knew one passionate kiss between boy & girl would change their lives forever.
➳She knew that he had a reputation for being dangerous, she knew that Sebastian was off limits, but she just didn’t care. It seem every time she need help there he was
➦.At times Sebastian is a man you love to hate. Sebastian comes across as harsh & cold at times, but at the end of the day you can see his love for Chole shine through …..In the end he could be a man that you could easily love.
➦.. I loved Sebastian & Chloe’s story. I was pleasantly surprised at how much push & pull happened between them. There was sadness & there was sweetness & it was lovely in its own crazy kinda way
♥●•I loved the book. It was addictive. We met you young Carter in this book from Merciless & now I am looking forward to rereading it. Carter was only 16 in this book so yeah going back for bite to relook at him in different ant light
➦There was mix of suspense, danger & even Lil bite of creepiness to the story… but most of all there was that right amount of Love Story here. This story is a page turner, but the ending just left me I don’t know.. How to explain it.. Unfinished or maybe just wanting more … Either way keep in mind this is just my opinion
➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review 💕
➦ 💕 would I recommend this book: Hell Yes.
➦ 💕 I received an EXCLUSIVE copy of this book in exchange for my honest review of it. 💕 💕 . .**This has not influenced my review.* **
Sebastian and Chloe are now one of my favorite couples.
Sebastian and Chloe have known each other since they were in high school. They definitely do not have a conventional relationship, but the love that the hero has for the heroine was so powerful and not often expressed in romance books. It went beyond the superficial and physical (although the physical passion between the two was amazing). It was their definition of true love.
Talk about angst. This book wrung me out emotionally. I went through so many changes in just one book. The author is very skilled in bringing out such strong emotional responses. It is a dark romance so Sebastian is definitely not a boy scout but he is an alpha in his dealings with Chloe and in taking care of her.
I loved this book. I don't give out five stars often so when I do it really grabbed me. I can't wait to read their extended epilogue in their next book.
OK, honestly? This book was a bit weird for me. It was well written, and I did enjoy it enough that I am going to rate it 4-Stars. However, it felt like an incomplete story. Almost like the entire point of the book was maybe just to give us some insight into Carter from the Merciless series. Which would have been fine if Chloe's and Sebastian's story had been more fleshed out. I felt like I was missing huge chunks of their history, which made it hard for me to connect with them as a couple. On top of that, the ending was also left a little unfinished. So perhaps we are going to see this couple in future books?
That being said, it wasn't a bad book either. Like I mentioned the writing was excellent. This author is fantastic at writing emotional stories that grip the reader right from the start, and this book was steeped in emotion and pain. It is a relatively short book, so the pace was quite quick. There wasn't any OW or OM drama. The hero wasn't a manwhore. The heroine (unfortunately) was a virgin. We get a couple of good sex scenes. The secondary characters (mainly Carter) were interesting, and the two main characters were likable for the most part.
So yea, as I said above, it was a bit of an odd read. And as much as I enjoyed it, I still think it could have been much better had the author fleshed out the story more. In any case, I am still going to go ahead and recommend it. Especially if you have been reading the Merciless series as the little extra info about Carter makes a welcome addition.
A thrilling romantic suspense of love, loss, and sacrifice! Sebastian and Chloe’s connection is immediate. Though forged from dark events, the connection is lasting and strong. He will literally do anything to protect her. Even from herself. I Loved him!
I want more of him in fact! Hopefully we see him make a pop in appearance or two in the remaining two books of the Merciless series. Hint hint, Willow Winters! His friendship with a young Carter Cross allows the reader to see Carter before the events that happen in Merciless. We learn more about Carter’s parents and the illnesses that eventually take his parents from him. But most important we see that he has a friend who literally knows where the bodies are buried...so to speak. Hahahaha
So, if mystery, intrigue, and thrillers are your jam give it a try. Now the countdown is on for Breathless. I’m breathless just waiting for it.

THE STORY
Chloe Rose’s life has been surrounded by sadness and loss, she desperately wants to escape and leave town and her past behind, but one person keeps her rooted in place. Sebastian Black.
Sebastian is the boy who Chloe could never have they both grew up in Crescent Hill a town known for its dangers and underworld criminal activities.
Keeping Chloe at arm’s length, Sebastian has always been her silent protector. He loves her unconditionally, possessively and some would say obsessively, but there is a lot of darkness and mystery surrounding him. What has kept them apart all this time despite their obvious connection and draw to one another?
He was a boy I should be afraid of and definitely a boy I should never want
MY THOUGHTS This story grabs hold of you. The building intrigue has you turning each page in anticipation. The answers you seek do not come easily nor quickly. Full of suspense Willow keeps you guessing till the very end. I would have liked more closure though as I felt there were some questions left unanswered. Overall though this book had me hooked from beginning to end.
This is a heart wrenching and sad story but it also a story of forgiveness, learning to let go and overcoming adversity. It shows us that love can be found in the darkness and hope found in the hopeless.
Chemistry, passion angst meets suspense, danger and despair in a heartbreaking story about two broken souls finding their peace in one another.
A Kiss to Tell gives us a good introduction to Carter Cross who stars in the Merciless series
We both had secrets, we both saw the pain in each others eyes
DO I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK? If you are a fan of Willows this book has all the feels you’d expect from her. The characters are devastating, intense and beautiful, their story is sad and tragic but together they find love with one another and create their happily ever after.
MY RATINGS: (All ratings are out of 5) CHARACTER RATING: 5 TABOO/DARKNESS RATING: 5 BLUSH RATING: 4 ROMANCE RATING: 4 PLOT RATING: 4 OVERALL: 4 Blushing Stars.

4.5 stars Definitely a Good read. With great suspense and plot. I really liked the plot and the aspect of dreams and even so many times I was convinced that it's really happening and it's not a dream, that was the spooky and eerie part. Plot was written beautifully, both MC were going through alot but their chemistry and love was really worth all the struggle and pain. My only complaint is that I wanted to know more stories of Sebastian's past. Chloe and Sebastian were so perfect for each other and I really liked what Sebastian did for Chloe but wanted a bit more explanation from him for what he did.
Its a gathered concern how , I remember the spoilers of a book I read 2 years ago , but I don't remember the chemical reactions I read yesterday.😝😑
💟💯If you've read Merciless.......then the H in this book is the best friend of Carter (the H of Merciless). the H of this book is ACTUALLY the one who helped Carter through the tough times when he(Carter) was growing up.

💝MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.💝

1️⃣As I have told you earlier......... WW books are intense.
2️⃣The story , setting everything is like ANY normal book that you come across, nothing new.
3️⃣But her writing style is quite different from all those authors.
4️⃣It's like she writes in such suspenseful manner that by the end of chapter one you'll feel like there's something really bad is going to happen.
5️⃣But when that actually happens, you'll be like....... not surprised at all. You be wondering ,"So that was your little secret? Huh."
6️⃣And I am not saying this as an insult or anything , it's just........makes the book lengthy you know. It could have ended at least 50 pages earlier, but every book stretches unnecessarily because of her writing style.
7️⃣But then again , I am not someone who has a lot of patience , that is why I struggle with lengthy books.
8️⃣It takes me a week to finish a 250 page book , so I mostly stick to the novellas.
💠~~~~~~~~~~~💠~~~~~~~~~~~💠
#️⃣What this book is exactly about , I can't tell you because the details are fuzzy , and when I read the book at that time , I didn't completely understand what the h was afraid of so much. Whom was she running away from?
#️⃣But , it's a really...........INTENSE book if you wanna read.
#️⃣Compared to her other books, THIS one's pretty short , so you might wanna read this.
🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑
Safety details-
🛑TRIGGERS- A man tried to rape the h , but she was saved in time by the hero.
⏹Both H and h have known each other since they were in middle school , but the H was brooding and angry so she never dared to talk to him.
⏹Both just watched each other from afar. AND THEY ONLY SHARED ONE KISS WHEN THEY WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL.
⏹The h was obsessed with the H , and NOT in a creepy way , she just used to watch him a LOT , because she was drawn to his dark edgy aura.
⏹Both have been living in this small dark town filled with drug dealers and blue-collar workmen. The town is NOT a safe place.
⏹MCs live in the same town but NEVER saw each other after High School(kinda hard to believe , but okay)the H mostly just stayed away from h , because he didn't want to damage her with his darkness and his demons.(sweet)
⏹The H is NOT virgin , but he is celibate. NOT a manwhore , and no mention of past partners. He is OTT
⏹The h is virgin and she also has ........ sort of depression , you can say that she is scared all the time of the monsters lurking around in the town. Always looking over her shoulder as if waiting for someone to attack.
⏹The H did NOT know that the first time they had sex, that she is a virgin. Also, the H is REALLY nice and a man of few words, he's protective and scary and cares for the h.
⏹From his inner monologue , we come to know that once he saw the h with another guy in High School , so he assumed that the other guy took her virginity.
⏹No cheating.
⏹No sex scene with OP.
⏹No ow/om drama.
⏹Smut- 9/10.🔥
⏹The epilogue-Might be unsatisfying for you because they don't get married , but they run away together from the town.
⏹The rating immediately plummets for me if the MCs don't have kids in epilogue , but it was okay with me in this one because in epilogue, although they were safe, mentally , they weren't in a position to have kids because .......... it's actually inexplicable. You have to read it to find out.
⏹But the h has started working in a library and the H works in a meat shop in the epilogue.
⏹Also , this book didn't need kids to strengthen the MCs bond because , again, as I have said earlier, WWs characters are INTENSE , they......... form a unbreakable bond with each other , no matter what the situation is.
Oh boy! Willow Winters was about to slay me! I knew I was going to like A Kiss To Tell from the first chapter and I devoured in just a few hours. This book is dark and Sebastian comes across as harsh and cold but he's always loved Chloe. I loved seeing him unfold and change into the swoon!! As the story went on I was so worried about what their future held. Their story has been left open for maybe an update from them in a future book. 5*
Sensual, seductive, thrilling... I devoured this gorgeous, romantic suspense novel.
The tone is so engaging, it just pulls you into this dark mystery-romance. I love love LOVE Sebastian with his protective, brooding, alpha manner. He's so protective of Chloe.
Trust me, get lost in this delicious new book today. You'll be so glad you did~
This is the first book I've read from this author and it was really good. I've seen loads of great things about her so I had give one of her books a go. A few people had told me about this book so it has to be the first book to start and I wasn't disappointed with it. The story was intense I was dying to know what was goin on throughout the book. I was annoying myself trying to work things out. Even though I think I knew what was goin on I thought it was something else. It kept my mind working which I enjoyed and having a sexy guy like Sebastian in it just made it even better.
Chloe is a sweet girl and things haven't been great for her. She keeps herself to herself and doesn't both anyone. Everyone knows who she is and they talk but she doesn't care. All she ever wanted was to be out of Crescent Falls. Nothing good ever happened and she knew this well. But getting way wasn't goin to easy. Crazy things were happening and it was messing with her. Things were getting strange and she needed someone to make it go away but the one person she needed didn't want her. Well that's what she thought.
Sebastian has only let his walls down once and that was when he kissed Chloe Rose outside of school at the end of there school year. She was everything he wanted but he wasn't good enough for her. He has taken a path that was good. But deep down he was a good man. Just the people around weren't good and growing up with a crappy mum didn't make him any better. But there was one thing he would alway do and that was to protect Chloe. She meant something to him he just didn't show. Until the fight started to get to much and he couldn't fight it he needed her more than.
This story is really good. I was gripped from the start. I did get confused in a few pages and the ending could of been a lil better but overall I did really enjoy it. I really liked Chloe and Sebastian they are great characters. They are meant to be together even with all the crazy that was goin on there lives. Sebastian will always protect Chloe and she needs that. I felt sorry for her in parts she needed someone to take care of her. I would recommend this book like I said it the first book I've read from this author and it won't be the last. I need to know more about Carter that character has left a big hole and I need to know more about him. So I'm really looking forward to this series.
So this book is bit difficult to rate for me so I am just going to go with straight down the middle and give it 3 stars. This was a quick and easy read for me.
While I enjoyed the characters and the writing was good, I felt like a lot was missed or skipped over. And I felt like were told more than shown. There is a great connection between the two main characters but I felt like their story was never completely over in the end.
While I enjoyed learning about Sebastian and Chloe came to be, I felt like this may have been more of a prequel for Carter in Merciless but again - I was left scratching my head since he was a secondary character and did not really play a huge role in this book.
As I said, overall the story was nice, but felt like there were some incomplete parts that needed fleshed out more and maybe the author left their ending open with future books in store for them (at least I hope). I really liked these characters and wouldn't mind reading more about them.
This book takes us back to the beginning before Carter became the man we know from Merciless.
I don't want to say too much about the book but I loved it. I always like finding out why people became the characters we know, who influenced them and the author gave us that and more. We do see the makings of Carter but Sebastian and Chloe's story was a great read too.
Chloe Rose has seen the worst, her youth marred by loss and despair with just a single kiss to brighten the darkness. She's grown brave as an adult, hiding her fear in front of others and facing the flickering lights of the dangerous streets she must walk in order to reach home. She doesn't sleep though, afraid of what meets her in her nightmares, at least until Sebastian shows up in the shadows. He offers her a solution and his attention, though he hides his darkness from her. He knows he can't have her light, but he can't deny how much he wants her, especially when she comes to him for comfort as the nightmares become reality.
"In darkness or in light, it doesn't matter anymore. I've been through both"
Told from the alternating perspectives of main characters Chloe Rose and Sebastian, A Kiss To Tell takes us on a romantic journey in a small town littered with criminal activity. The people in this town don't get out, but they want to. Chloe Rose is one of them, a sweet, innocent women plagued by the title of sad girl. She immediately tugs at your heart with her story of loss and her desperate hope to leave, to escape. Sebastian is the hardened man following the direction of another, but he's never let Chloe far from his mind. Their history is simple, a single memorable moment that brings them together as the danger and threat to lives increases. We don't know much about Sebastian, but what we do know made me fall in love with him. He's got a darkness, but he has more light in him than he even realizes, revealing to readers he has a soft spot for the sad girl. He's full of sweet words and naughty thoughts and more secrets than he can count. These two are so drawn to one another that even without the complete background of who Sebastian is I could tell he's made for Chloe. They gravitate to one another and somehow the story, even with the nightmares filling the pages, is 100% a romance.
"Even the little bits of me hidden away in the pages of my books, all the way down to the marrow in my bones; it was supposed to happen like this."
Fans of Willow Winters will enjoy the backstory that A Kiss To Tell provides for some of its secondary characters and will appreciate the world building when it comes to its connection to Merciless. It reads more like a prequel, but with different characters from the novels that tie into it. Unfortunately, readers that haven't yet met secondary character, Carter, and don't know about the life he lives won't feel the same connection to A Kiss To Tell and its characters. Additionally, while I fell for Sebastian and Chloe right away I never felt like I was part of their story. It has gaps, we see their connection and their lust, but we don't see what it's built upon, we're told the facts and asked to have blind faith in them. It is mysterious though and even with the gaps I couldn't stop reading, waiting for the big reveal that will definitely catch you off guard. A Kiss To Tell isn't as suspenseful as the connected Merciless novel, the darkness and brutality isn't there, but it's an excellent story for the characters that are in it., one that shows a sweet side to the corrupted town and its inhabitants.
"Is Chloe Rose getting to me? She's always gotten to me."
A Kiss To Tell is a sexy, short story from Willow Winters that just barely touches on the dark and depraved stories some of the secondary characters can be found in. You'll find yourself sympathizing with the characters and flipping through the pages as the intensity reaches a peak. While I loved Chloe and Sebastian, I wanted more from this story and I can only hope we're going to see more of them in the world Willow Winters has created.
A Kiss To Tell is a thrilling, exciting and vivid read about two broken souls who are able to find love amidst the danger around them. It is told in dual points of view. The pace is perfect and flowed really well, with the intrigue and suspense increasing each step of the way. As I was reading this, time ceased to exist. I was consumed all throughout, glued to the pages until the very end.
Sebastian is a sexy bad boy involved with some unsavory characters. Chloe is a lost and broken girl, trying to find her way in the world. Both of them having been dealt some crappy cards in life. The two grew up together and were attracted to one another, but each never realizing the other felt the same. Several years pass with very little contact, until one day Chloe unknowingly puts herself in a dangerous situation. Sebastian, being the alpha male that he is, steps in determined to protect her at all costs.
Without giving too much of the plot away, this book is about lies, secrets and murder designed to keep us readers on our toes. I would highly recommend it to those looking for a thrilling and exciting tale.
Willow Winters enchants and bewitches everyone with her powerful words. She is a master in conjuring every mood wanted and drawing her readers in!
I experienced the same angsty and powerful emotions as Chloe and Sebastian did, feeling every single one they went through too… Everything felt so vivid and authentic that reading this book almost broke my heart. It is heart-wrenching and elating at the same time to accompany both protagonists on their journey and it was really, really painful to stop reading and put this book out of hand now and then, being forced to take part in real life and leave Chloe and Sebastian behind in their world of fiction. It was almost like breaking the surface of the water after nearly drowning to gasp painfully for air…
WOW! Another masterpiece by this incredibly talented author!
This is my book by this author. This is not my sub genre of romance so that's probably why. This felt incomplete, like I was missing a lot of back story or details, I don't know but just not for me. I skimmed most of it after the 1st few chapters.
It was a big mistake to start this late on a night. I ended up staying up until the early hours and read this book in one sitting.
Sebastian and Chloe have always had a connection between them but they’ve never really acknowledged it, they just kind of accept they have this pull between them and have done since school. Chloe is a sweet but extremely sad and guilt ridden young woman. After tragedy struck her family she’s had a hard time moving on and when her past looks like it’s coming back to haunt her, it’s Sebastian she leans on. Sebastian had a poor childhood and even though he cares for Chloe he knows he’s not what she needs. Finding it harder and harder to fight the pull between them, he can’t help wanting to be there for her especially if there’s a chance her life is on danger. They can only fight their feelings for so long until it becomes obvious just how strong their feelings for each other are. But it’s not plain sailing. Chloe is confused, she feels like she’s losing her mind and I have to admit my heart broke for her. Sebastian...is Sebastian. There’s more to him than meets the eye.
I loved this book. I adored the characters especially Chloe and the story had me hooked from start to finish. Another great book by Willow Winters.
A Kiss To Tell is a dark, suspenseful, raw book with a lot of emotion. Chloe and Sebastian have a history and he keeps her at arm's length to "protect" her.
While I really wanted to love this story, it was a bit of a miss for me. I love the premise of it all but there was so much telling instead of showing in this book. Some of it was unnecessary and some of it was too much. This was the only issue I had with the writing. The book also felt unfinished to me. I'm not sure how to explain that but it was just a feeling I had after I finished it.
I will check out her other work but this one wasn't for me.
OMG What a place to live and what life they had growing up. Chloe really got dealt with a bad hand growing up. But am glad she kept going on with her life even though she had no friends. Sebastian not really had it any better but did fall in love and looked out for Chloe. Reading this book they actually met as kids but don’t think Chloe remembers. Brilliant read and loved this book and now reading Carter makes sense.
I won this paperback last Christmas Holidays, so I needed a Vacation to read this in all the peace and quite. As possible with a todler..
I liked this one, but it gave me a lot of questions with not so much answers. I get it, it needs to be all mysterious, but an answer here it there is good. I'm not intrigued enough to read Carter's book or Possessive.
This was so promising, the depth that’s offered here was really good. But it’s too short and some of the more complex emotions don’t have enough time to develop the way they deserve.
Another spectacular book by Willow Winters! Sebastian and Chloe’s story has the heart wrenching storyline and turmoil Willow’s known for. This imperfectly perfect pair has the highest highs when they finally get together and the lowest lows as they each deal with the past, their present and escape to their future.
I loved that we were able to read more of Carter’s story along with Sebastian! The little glimpses into his younger years were fascinating and had me loving him even more!
I honestly didnt know which direction this book would follow and knew I was in for a ride. I went in blind and didnt know what to expect. The plot was filled with angst, suspense and mystery. I loved the connection between the hero and heroine. The way the author described their relationship as something inevitable and meant to be.
Both characters had problematic childhoods and have been bought up in a bad neighbourhood. From the very beginning we know they are an enigma which leads us to many unanswered questions.
Ever since I laid eyes on her, she was mine. It didn’t matter that I didn’t want anyone, because I didn’t have a choice. She was mine. Fate picked her for me, and vice versa.
Sebastian is a mystery. He keeps his distance in the beginning but has always kept an eye on the heroine. You dont understand his intentions. His actions are questiinable but he is protective and possessive of chloe. I loved how he views her. Is he leading her on and is he low key obsessed... However, I started noticing the red flags half way through the book. It intrigued me to continue.
The heroine is traumatized, sleep deprived and scared out of her mind. She constantly questions her sanity and is unable to differentiate between her nightmares and reality. In her panic she learns to lean on the hero. The heroine was troubled throughout the story. Chloe has always been a loner with no friends, and sees herself as awkward and strange. With the mysterious murders happening, shes alone and has no control of whats going on around her. She turns to Sebastian who makes her feel safe and protective.
I felt like there could have been more to the story More behind the murders, and more about the elusive Marcus. It didnt feel like a conclusion. Hopefully there will be some sort of closure in A kiss to keep.I looked forward to reading Carters story in the Merciless series.
Who knew one passionate kiss between a girl named Chloe and a boy named Sebastian so many years ago would have such an impact on their lives. Chloe knew Sebastian was off limits. He had a reputation for being dangerous and intimidating. Chloe was never afraid of Sebastian. She felt safe when around him. He had a magnetic force that drew Chloe to him just being in his presence. They both had damaged pasts and the thought of them being together was unthinkable.
We experience the sacrifices and crossed boundaries this couple are willing to risk just to be together. I found myself hoping the two of them would escape the clutches of their demons and slay them together. Willow Winters has once again written a story that captures your heart and soul.
