Rate this book
Juniper Jupiter, an overly ambitious little girl, aims to be the best at everything. One day when she is in her messy room, she discovers she has a talent for juggling. She juggles more and more stuff. Find out if Juniper can keep everything orbiting — or if it all comes crashing down. Cherry Smith teaches preschool in Greenwood, South Carolina. She dreamed of writing and illustrating books since she was a child and is thrilled to share Juniper with the world. She has encountered many children who feel pressured to be the best at everything, and she hopes Juniper will teach children how to feel less stressed by simply doing one thing at a time.

2019 bk 198. Disclaimer - I met the author on a holiday cruise on the first or second night of the trip. My traveling companion and I fell into talking with her about her book, publicizing the book, etc. After that we would see each other to wave to in the hallways or gathering places. It was a total surprise, and a pleasant one, when she sought us out the last night of the cruise and presented each of us with an autographed copy of the book we had both planned to purchase. So we now plan to purchase her second book. That said.

Juniper Jupiter World's Greatest Juggler is a delightful book. Who hasn't wanted to be the best at something? Juniper wanted to be the best at everything, but her life and her room were in a mess. In picking up the mess Juniper learns that she can juggle (remember all the things she can do?) but one day everything comes crashing down and she has to learn to pick up things one at a time to put them away - and likewise to do one thing at a time to get the job done. I love this story - and need to appy it to my own life. It is an excellent book to read aloud to a group of children or the one child or one adult in your life who is an over achiever. The illustrations are colorful and made me smile, and after all, doesn't everyone need a book that makes them smile in their life?
