Erik Ashendale is back and ready to pick up where he left off. But things can get tough when you’re a ghost trying to reclaim your life back.
Brought back to Earth thanks to a forbidden spell, Erik is thrust into a world he barely recognizes anymore. In his absence, everyone he thought he once knew has changed, and not all for the better.
Meanwhile, his old nemesis, Alan Greede, is hatching a plot to resurrect the most dangerous demon to ever exist, and literally bring Hell on Earth…
Resurrection is my favorite book so far in the Legacy series by Ryan Attard. This book is so full of twists and turns my head is still spinning! I am not sure how the author kept all these straight and how he could even come up with the plot, but I for one am glad he did. How he managed to come up with the ideas is beyond me. I admit after Nemesis I had no idea what he would do to bring Erik back, but this was a pretty neat way to do it all. Nemesis was a pretty dark book and did a lot of damage to the "good guys" and Resurrection is trying to restore some of the balance.
The pace is a steady fast full of action that leaves you hanging on to the pages. It is tough to put this one down since there really is never a good time to really put this book down. The author did a lot of character development for a lot of the characters since Erik was gone for like a year and how that really affected his friends and family. It was interesting to see how the author interpreted these effects in Abi, Amaymon and Gil specifically. Also the lengths they had to go through to get him back where nothing to laugh at and even then there were some serious repercussions with it all!
I for one really think this is by far the best in this series and loved how the author developed the characters and brought it all together. Also the editorial errors were by far the least in any of the books to date! So things are really coming together. I am excited to see what the future has in store.
It's hard to leave a review without giving spoilers so all I will say is buy this book. In fact do yourself a favour and buy the series. I promise you won't regret it. I personally am now eagerly awaiting the next instalment so roll on number 7 please. My enthusiasm for Erik is unabated and the relationship he has with Amaymon is complicated to say the least. I'd love to understand more about Gil too - she appears to be the complete opposite to Erik but is she really? So many questions I'd like to see answered - if you read this review Ryan please consider supplying some answers in your next book!
I was hooked on the Legacy Series from the first book. The fast pace and varying character personalities sucked me in from day one. I laughed and I cried and experienced every emotion in-between. Resurrection ended on a cliff hanger, so I'm hoping for another book. I can't wait! The only suggestion I have is to find another person to edit the books. There were minor typos on almost every page. I was able to easily decipher the meaning, but it was frustrating. However, I'm still very excited to read other books by Ryan Attard. He has wonderful plots and characters.
Excellent story of how when Erik has died in Nemisis and comes back in the beginning of this story. Resurrection is an excellent title as the fight goes on to bring the ghost back to life. There are lots of twists to the plot and many things will not come to light until the end. One thing is true there is a strong connection between Abi, Amaynom, Gil. He was missed and that is why he is back! The ending will shock you a bit but I did enjoy the entire story and recommend the entire series!
Book 5 left you wondering if that was the end for Erik. Fear not; he's back, albeit a lot more jaded. In fact, all your favorites make an appearance at some point. Book 6 is a nonstop thrill ride with some surprising twists.
Unlike some of the earlier books in this series, I don't feel you can truly appreciate this book without reading the preceding 5. All of the previous character and world building really enhance this story.
I have to say, I think this is the best entry in this series, to date! As always, Ryan Attard brings the action on every page. And yet, he weaves drama, mystery, intrigue, and espionage into the heady supernatural mix. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
If you're not reading Ryan Attard or the Legacy series, you really, REALLY should be. You have no idea what you're missing!
Gil manages to bring Erik back from the dead as a ghost. What neither of them know is what they must go through for Erik to be put back in his body. This is another great book by Ryan Attard, completely different to any of the previous books in the series. The storyline keeps moving from start to finish and in my opinion there isn't a dull.moment. Highly recommended.
Excellent continuation of the Legacy series, with Erik being dead, and everyone's efforts to get him back amongst the living. Will they make it, and what will they do then with him? Read it yourself to find out. Let me just say that we do find out a lot more about his sister's character in this book.
I have really liked the books in this series, I was surprised at how dark this book was. I'm not sure how to describe it to be honest. Except to say that is definitely dark and macabre. Compared to the original books this one is almost disturbing.
Please keep writing more books of this series! I’ve enjoyed them all and want more! Lots more! Erik Ashendale needs to keep saving the world with his wonderful bad attitude.. an attitude I’ve grown to love.
Wow this was one hell of a read glad i was reading it and mad that i finished it if you havent ever read about eric and his crew you are missing out get this book asap like i said wow incredible
So happy that this series is continuing, I re-read the legacy series this week so I’d be fully caught up when I picked this book up and I was NOT disappointed
my least favorite of the series so far. again felt like a set up book. i did like the introduction of the new character of the child though. i think he will add well into the series
Having already read this twice before I knew what was happening. It didn’t make it easier to read. Erik being dead is the least traumatic part of the book. It emulates Ghost Story. Abi and Molly both react to the deaths of their mentors by engaging in self-harm. Sure, Abi says she was just continuing the mission, but she was punishing herself. At least Molly had a reason to lose it, since Harry had her wipe his memory. Abi’s way of grieving was painful, but we got to see her morph into the bad-ass we knew she would be.
I have never been a fond of double-cross and triple-cross intrigue, so that portion dimmed my enjoyment of the book.
A pure delight came from meeting Mephistopheles and Amaymon’s brother, Astaroth. The fire elemental is a bit insane, but also endearing. Just do not hurt his sock puppets...
With every Legacy book he writes, Ryan Attard polishes his craft & gets better & better! Another great Ryan Attard read. This book has everything, maybe the best Legacy book to date! Nonstop action, warlocks, talking cats, magic, sarcasm, humor & and further escalation from the earlier books in the series. I very much enjoyed this book & am ready for more. It was a cannot put down story adding to the storylines from his first books. Thank you Ryan Attard.
