Dang: A Humorous Mystery
Trailer Parks. Rednecks with Ambition. Media Coverage. Murder. Moonshine. Bootlegging. Conspiracy Theories. Rasslin’ Moves. Hot Rods. Duct Tape. Mullets and Monster Trucks. Homemade Vehicles. Mazes. Escape Tunnels. Safe Rooms. Pistols and Pursuing Leads.
The whole town thinks Willem has already committed two murders. Why shouldn’t they believe he’s committed more?
For the past year and a half, Willem has been an outcast in his hometown. Everyone believes he’s a killer. On top of the murder accusations, his “biofuel/fertilizer” business is failing. He’s well over knee-deep in inventory with no chance of a sale in sight. When Murven, his out-of-work best buddy, volunteers to help him with his daily collection, they discover Willem is stockpiling more than he bargained for as an "entre-manure."
Once the sheriff gets involved, Willem's past and Murven's general reputation slingshot them both to the top of the list of murder suspects. With a little help from an unexpected ally, they escape custody and fight to clear their names of murder. As the news spreads, every busybody and media hog in the county—family, friend or foe—wants a piece of Willem and Murven's 15 minutes of infamy.

Don’t do it. Seriously not one ounce of it is probable. I hated everything about it. I had to read it for book club. Goes into a 2 paragraph description of him putting paper towels on his ear but we get no description of them getting out of the bunker? Then these two idiots are really off getting all these clues? Literally starts off with them shoveling up cow poop and putting it in buckets and then moving the full buckets to the back of his truck and then in the truck they are finding a whole human arm. So he just scoops up a full human arm and puts it in what I’m assuming is a 5 gallon bucket, all without realizing it. Wooh. It was too stupid to be funny. All I’m happy about was that it took only 2.5 hrs to read but also that’s time I’ll never get back.

This was a good book. It was different and had some comical moments. It’s essentially about these two stereotypical “rednecks” that get framed for mur*er. Meanwhile there’s crooked cops, wanna be reporter and just some laughs. There’s also another mystery going on within a mystery as Willem the main protagonist is previously acquitted for the mu*der of his parents. Overall this was a quick and funny story.

Fun tale but I'd be less than honest if I didn't say the overuse of dialect made it difficult to read. I can't imagine everyone says sumpin' instead of something (and they say sumpin' A LOT in this book) or says git instead of get. May well just be a me thing and, again, it is a fun story.

This book is a hilarious mystery. The characters are your typical small town southern folks. I was even a little surprised when the murderer was revealed. If you want a light-hearted mystery that will make you laugh all the way throughout, this is the book for you!

Willem and Peggy
Dang was meant as a spoof on mysteries, red necks, and trailer trash. Although not the best of fiction, it achieved it's goal.

Dang…
Entertaining. Corny. Lazy ending.
Maybe just not my preferred writing style. But I can see others getting a kick out of this story.

A few funnies, but seemed a little far fetched.

This book was great! The use of one word to pull it all together was both funny and exciting. How many meanings can one word have? Dang.

I didn’t care for it necessarily. The characters were ridiculous. It was not that funny to me but the plot was a mystery so. I suppose, that says something. Not sure what…🤷♀️

I didn’t really care for it much. Seemed kind of dumb to me.

Dang!
A first of a kind read for me. It was refreshingly "redneck"; which made for a lighter, fun story. This was a pleasant change of pace.

DANG, from R.D. Smith had my chuckling all through the read. A trailer park mystery, involving two characters trying to prove their innocents. Funny, light reading.

Would I recommend this to others to listen to? Probably not. Might have enjoyed it more had I read it, but dang, I doubt it.

Fairly entertaining, but feel like the it was well short of "laugh out loud" funny. Will likely give book 2 a chance too if I can get it as cheaply as I got this one

Ridiculous
I had to skip through much of this book. What a waste of time. The characters were beyond stupid. Whomever wrote this needs a need job

This book made me think of the old Keystone Cop movie clips. A comedy of errors. My only issue with the book is that there were several subplots going on at once and weren't well explored.
