Wade had everything he could ever want in life…then he lost it.

Now, his life—his forever girl—is living in a house he built for her while he’s struggling to move on and find meaning where there isn’t any to be found.

Landry Hill was his girl. His everything. His first kiss. His first and only love. His old lady and wife.

Then one day he does something monumentally stupid, and she walks away knowing she’ll never come back.

Fast forward two years, and he’s still just as in love with her now as he was when she left. The only problem is that she’s moved on with her life, found a new man, and has seemingly forgotten him. Then there’s Wade—stuck in the same awful place where she abandoned him. The only thing he has left is his job as a police officer and the Bear Bottom MC.

Just when they both think things can’t get any worse, life kicks them both in the teeth, and Landry finds out really quick that the only person she can depend on is the one that let her walk away.

With that understanding comes a deal. One that Landry has no hope of ever breaking free from, and one Wade will do everything in his power to make a reality.

But one thing is still certain. The force that split them apart is still out there, and there’s no hope of escaping fate.

I found the conflict in the story unique and interesting. I grew fond of Landry quickly because she has a big heart. She was just finally standing up for herself and Wade took the brunt of the experience. Wade was awesome. He was trying to do the best he could with the information he knew and once he was aware, I totally fell even more. This second chance story touched me and added yet another great addition to the Bear Bottom MC collection.

I really admire LLV because she has written many books to date and each bring something special to the table. Even the ones I don’t utterly love have added a unique element to this world she has created. I definitely feel that she keeps getting better and better with each release if not in the story itself, in how she weaves them together.

The writing, pacing, and characterization are solid. The secondary characters added value and opened up interesting possibilities. All in all a great read.

I was really excited to read this because I’m a sucker for betrayal themed books - and most are about cheating and I don’t read those - why does everyone assume betrayal can only mean physical cheating? There’s so many ways one can betray a partner… but I digress.

So yes, I was extra excited for the added story of sibling organ donation (when one sibling was conceived for that specifically) - and I was sorely disappointed.

The issues mentioned and the backstory of the heroine were horrific in my opinion. Her suffering and extensive trauma is just crazy to think about. Her parents didn’t allow her any childhood joy or freedom. They controlled every aspect of her life - she didn’t drink a drop of water that wasn’t accounted for. They even went ahead and basically removed her reproductive organs because instead of treating an infection with antibiotics they wanted to make sure she’d be always healthy to donate and didn’t want things like her uterus/fallopian tubes (one of those) getting in the way. They had to move to Mexico because doctors wouldn’t operate on her in the USA. Every time she donated she was in more and more pain for which they didn’t allow her painkillers because again they wanted nothing in her body that wasn’t strictly necessary for her health so that she can always be in top shape to donate.

It was extremely hard to read. And it was all glossed over. It’s such a big thing and it was treated like an instrument to create a little bit of plot for the couple. Gross. Not to mention that the hero and heroine never really get to actually have an in depth and revealing conversation about what she went through and how he failed her. She was wrong for not telling him the whole story BUT he knew his wife and should have accepted that she wouldn’t refuse to save her sister’s life unless she really had reasons to be so vehemently opposed. I think he’d still have made her do it even if he knew tbh. And I can’t accept that.

The lack of communication was abysmal and their relationship felt flimsy because of it. He didn’t even realise she battled depression, apparently she got “moods”. I mean yeah, ok but did he get concern and perhaps talk to her about them? Did he want to know more about her family and demanded explanations? I don’t get this love they professed for each other when one person didn’t know vital, life changing things about their spouse? The kind of stuff that made them who they are and the way they are.

I would love if authors stopped writing these big, traumatic backstories and then phoning it in when it’s time to show how the character revolved because of it. The heroine was basically raised as a biological slave and given no affection. She was a prisoner, taken out only when needed and carefully monitored every single moment of her life. That shapes a child and the adult they become. How exactly is that represented here? It’s not.

Ok now, let’s move on the absolute insane plot that basically wanted to cram everything in it. There’s stalkers, family secrets, murders, arson.. literally you think it, it’s got it. Then at the end the sister was made to seem a saint as well.. I’m flabbergasted all that managed to fit into 250 pages or so. It was ridiculous and insane

Omggggggg!!!! How I freaking ADORED these two! This was the PERFECT second chance romance! All the feels and all the swoons for Wade and Landry!

Very few authors can create a second chance romance that completely absorbs me in – yes, I’m a picky one and second chance seldom work for me – from start to finish, make me understand and sympathize with the reasoning for the separation, and never doubt the couple’s true feelings of love and devotion to one another, but Ms. Vale did it once again!

Wade and Landry knew from the moment they first meet that they were soulmates – and even apart never doubted the other was their ONE! – but Landry’s long suffering and very complicated past caught up with them, and she found herself devastated and letting all her insecurities and pain come forward, making her push the man she knew was her one true love away.

Two years later, and they still are just as truly and madly in love with each other as when they first got together, and when again Fate and tragedy brings them together again, and the depth of pain of Landry’s past is unveiled, Wade will stop at NOTHING to get the one and only woman in his life, forever his wife in his mind, and back where she belongs, permanent residency by his side. I truly couldn’t have loved these two more than I did. Their reasoning, on both sides for the argument that let to the separation, the moral versus personal issues, the pain, the LOVE, the loyalty and devotion were so realistically and rawly engraved in each page, each thought of these two, that just proved once again Ms. Vale’s gift with character and world development, as well as brilliant storytelling craft. I’ve read this book in one sitting and can honestly say that it will stay for a very long time in my mind, that’s how powerful Landry and Wade’s love and story was. This Bear Bottom MC series is now one of my all time fav series, and with SO many enticing and captivating side characters, I’ll be anxiously awaiting for the next of the boys to fall!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Landry Hill had a life where she was born and raised to be a convenience for her parents when they need her otherwise she was second best. The moment she got a chance she got away and went off to college where she met and fell in love with Wade Johnson. They married and should be having their happily ever after, however Wade takes a stance on something he knows nothing about and Landry serves him with divorce papers.

Two years later Wade doesn't understand what the hell went wrong but he knows he wants his wife back. Things that he thought he knew turn out to be quite the opposite and Wade grabs at his second chance with Landry even if Landry is not to sure where it will lead.

I had always put this one off because was not sure what the reason behind Wade and Landry splitting up was but boy I was not expecting what it turned out to be. You never doubt for a moment Wade and Landry's love for one another. Landry is a strong woman even when she doubts herself, she was a great heroine and I liked that this couple had real problems they worked through. Excellent, should have read sooner.

2.5 I don't know if it's me or if it's this series.

Ok, so I might be in a bit of a book funk at the moment. I've been reading book after book after book but none of them please me as they should.

This one was no exception.

I usually enjoy Lani Lynn Vale's writing (and I think it's the only thing that actually kept me reading this story, the really good writing style). She has a way with words, they just seem to flow and the books go by faster than you expect.

But, despite this, the book didn't really sing to me.

I don't really know why. The plot was ok, the characters were decent, the chemistry was... well, it was there, so that's a plus. But maybe decent doesn't really cut it for me this time (yeah yeah, it's my fault, not the book's, probably).

Anyway, it's a series worth trying.

So far this book has bored the crap out of me. I’m 76% in and I have no idea what this author’s goal with the story is supposed to be. It started off with the MMC’s betrayal of the FMC’s stance on giving more of herself to her family who had previously subjugated and enslaved her to her sister’s medical needs. It was sad but also glossed over and the reader is left wanting more of this terrible traumatic backstory of the FMC. The FMC decided to divorce the MMC instead of continuing to fight over her right to choose guilt free and then the story glosses over the heartbreak of their divorce too.

Next they miraculously turn out to not be legally divorced and the main couple just end up back together but now there is an entirely new drama regarding the MMC potentially losing his leg from a work a$&ault and the FMC having a crazy stalker out to destroy her life. But so far, the evil sister and evil parents have basically disappeared. I thought the evil sister was going to be the villainous OW but other than one staged scene that lead to a peck on the cheek nothing else has happened on that front so far.

I’m bored and ridiculously confused on what the actual story is supposed to be here. There really isn’t any romance on page. Yes the main couple got back together but they haven’t resolved any of their issues. The new conflict has over shadowed the original conflict that has in essence been forgotten in the story somewhere at the 45% mark. And because there has been NO character development and so many plot lines just left hanging with no end in site I can’t say this book is worth the struggle I’m having to even get through it. Good luck.

FINAL UPDATE

This book got so convoluted after the 80% mark that I don’t know if I would give this author another chance. The author tied up all the loose ends of her plot lines in like two paragraphs in the last chapter before the epilogue. But the sister angle did not play out like it should have. The author had them forgiving and forgetting and she had the nerve to imply a relationship between the sick sister and the best friend kourt. Ewww. Honestly that just doesn’t work for me at all!

It’s two bad really because there were good ideas here but extremely poor execution. Especially after the 80% point. It was like someone else took over writing it because I seriously could not tell who was talking at any given time or what the scene had turned into. It was so abrupt and not coherent in parts.

Not sure if I will ever read anything by this author again. Good luck.

This was okay.
Some aspects of this book was really good but I have trouble connecting with this author.
I really want her work to be better than it is, she writes alot of books so it would be a huge back catalogue to plunge in to but somehow I just feel she misses the mark.

In this book you get a prologue of the heroine's history as a child, in other books by this author I have felt I am missing a setting for the story at the start.
The book then starts with them divorced.
The Hero believes she is with another man.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Small other woman drama implied as he takes the sister's side and is seen giving her a hug and kiss on the cheek.
Other secondary characters introduced.
No cheating.

Spoiler

*
The heroine and other man are just friends, they have bonded over the transplant issue and their family dynamic.
The Hero and heroine split over his lack of understanding of her issues over making the transplant donation.
Neither the Hero or heroine are with anyone else while apart.
It turns out they are still married, there was a legal issue with the divorce.
Both were virgins when they met.

HEA.

How About No is a heartbreaking, yet heartwarming, second chance romance. It is a perfect example of two amazing people who were meant to be together but lack of good communication ripped them apart.

Landry, I LOVED her, saying she had a bad childhood is putting it lightly. In spite of her tragic childhood, she is loving, caring and funny. I absolutely adore her sass. Wade has a big heart, loves hard and is as sexy of an alpha man as you can find. When that big heart has him not listen to Landry he breaks her heart and destroys their marriage.

I really enjoyed Landry and Wade’s second chance; they were both hurting so much during their separation that it was obvious they never should have divorced. Once Wade had the opportunity to try to win Landry back he went after her 100% and wouldn’t let her deny their love. These two are so freaking hot, sweet and funny together. I really didn’t want the book to end. As is normal with Lani Lynn Vale books, the secondary characters add laughter and support making this another “unputdownable” read.

Now I’m dying for Bayou’s book!

Second book I've tried from this author and unfortunately I don't think she's for me. I know I'm skipping around in her series', but I just feel like plot is being left out. The writing is ok. I'm actually not liking the FMCs to be honest. I know it's only two books, but I disliked both FMCs. I had a problem with the h Landry not telling her husband Wade the H that she couldn't have children. Kind of important information that you don't leave out when you know your partner wants them. Yet this author just breezed over it like it was no big deal, and none of the reviews I read had a problem with it 🤷. Unbelievable actually. This info came out AFTER they were married. It's a good thing he loved her so much to be honest. I was extremely irritated when that fact came out. I'm sorry something like that in reality would make or break a marriage after the fact when your marriage is built on half lies. Which came from the h. Sorry I can't pass that over and back this character just because she's female. It doesn't work that way. Anyways, overall this was just ok.

The couple: Wade and Landry

Romance genre: second chance
Series: Bear Bottom Guardians MC
Length: 241 pages

Plot: Wade and Landry were the perfect couple until they weren't. Wade asked Landry to do something without any concern for her own health/safety, or rather, he didn't listen to her when she said she couldn't or wouldn't do it (sounds vague, I know - here's the spoiler: ). Landry loved wade but she had vowed, after her childhood, to finally take care of herself, and when her own husband would stand up for her, she had to cut him loose. A couple of years after the divorce, though neither of them has moved on. But now Landry could be in danger and Wade, as a cop and as the person who still loves her madly, will be the one to protect her, no matter what.

Commentary: This definitely falls under the grovel category; at 32%, the character makes his first apology:
“I shouldn’t have forced you to do something you didn’t want to do,” he said. “I should have taken what you said to heart. I should’ve let you do what you wanted, and I should have supported you in every decision that you made, regardless of whether I agreed with it or not. Because that is part of what being married is about, compromise and understanding. I wasn’t either of those things and by not supporting you in your decision, I ruined our lives.”

And at 43%:
“You don’t see a problem?” I shrieked. “We’re married again! You chose someone else over me! Someone who’s always been chosen over me!” He sobered instantly. “And you will never understand how sorry I am that I didn’t put you first. That I didn’t see what I was doing when I did it. If I had…if I had, I would’ve been able to prevent spending all these months in a perpetual state of torture because you weren’t there by my side.”

One of the great things about this story is that the characters know they messed up and they admit it. Wade (in my opinion) was most at fault because he didn't stand by the person that he promised to love and cherish. They both know this, and that's what the majority of the book is about - reestablishing that foundation. But Landry isn't blameless. She spent her whole life hiding what was going on in her family, and to an extent, she was still doing the same thing in her marriage, hiding her past, which led to Wade not having enough information to make the decision that would have been best for both of them. And she factored in her as well, which she hadn't shared with Wade either. But the characters pay for their mistakes, and as adults, they are trying to make things right. And it helps that !

As to the premise - I do wonder if that happens in real life because this certainly isn't the only book to have this as a trope. But here it's more to create other plot points - the divorce,
I really loved how much Wade loved Landry. Once he saw a way back in, he never lost faith. In the end, they really had a beautiful relationship.

Again, I've screwed up my TBR inventory. This popped up in one of my FB groups and it sounded amazing; and I had to read it immediately.

So, this is a me thing, I don't click with LLV.

Too many characters from too many series interacting and I'm just not interested.

Likable enough couple.

Review by Lisa Kane

Wade Johnson has the Bear Bottom Guardians MC and his job as a cop. What he doesn't have? His wife, not ex-wife, Landry Marine. It's been two years since he messed up and Landry divorced him. Two years of regret and living his life alone. Meanwhile, Landry seems to have moved on and has a new man in her life.

Landry's life isn't exactly what Wade seems to think it is, but she's not about to set him straight. She had a brutal childhood and while she thought she had found someone who loved her for herself she found out that he too would put someone else before her wishes. She spent her whole life yearning for the time when she could live the life she wanted, making her own choices for that life. Then the love of her life, Wade, made her feel insignificant again.

I'd been two years since our divorce had been finalized, and each month-hell, each day-had been an exercise in control.
I missed my best friend.

When Wade is shot and hurt, Landry doesn't hesitate to reach his side. He may be her ex, but he's still her love.

I was not living my life for anyone else anymore.
At least, that'd been what I thought up until I'd heard that Wade was shot.

Wade would do anything to get Landry back and although he's heard some things he believed were wrong, he still has no idea how to get back the life they once had. Seeing Landry at his side when he wakes up in the hospital, makes him realize a few things.

A person who's moved on doesn't get that upset over her ex-husband being hurt.
It just didn't happen.

Wade isn't about to look this gift horse in the mouth.

Landry finds herself getting sucked in more and more into a relationship with Wade once again. He's hurt and she wants to help him. He wants her back and makes no secret about it.

What I wanted was for her to be back in my bed. What I wanted was for my life to be what it was before she'd left.
What I got wasn't that.
But I was working on it.

Both Wade and Landry are in for a little (maybe big!) surprise. Is Wade about to get what he most wants? Is Landry ready to forgive him?

Wade's actions in the past cut Landry to her knees. She spent a lifetime of neglect and being used and he brought her right back to that place. But how much responsibility does Landry bear for their divorce?

"I think you wait for me to treat you like your parents treat you," he rumbled quietly. "And honey, I'm not your parents."

When two people love each other as much as Wade and Landry do, that leaves them both wide open to expose themselves to hurt. Can they learn from their mistakes and find their way back to each other?

"I was always going to fight for you. I was always going to make sure that you had what you wanted. What you needed. And baby, what you need is me."

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

So far, I've been pleasantly surprised by this series, and this book was no exception to that. I was entertained and engaged throughout the entire story!

Landry was by far the best part of the story for me. I loved how she overcame her past to be with Wade, then had to do one of the toughest things I've ever seen in a book, in order to preserve her own sanity and life. I didn't fault her in the slightest for her actions, and really hated Wade for what he forced Landry to do! However, that made it all the sweeter when they finally made their way back to one another!

Wade's redemption to Landry was a great part of the story for me, as well, though not as strong as the character of Landry herself. I loved his reaction when he learned just how badly he had screwed up, and his utter devotion to making things right. I think the lengths he went to in order to save Landry were amazing, and thought that it became a case of just desserts. Imagine my surprise when it also turned out to be a case of misunderstanding as well!

The story flowed very well, but needed a couple of pushes to keep me on track with it, thus losing a star in the process. I'm very interested to see where the series goes from here, as I find it entertaining and interesting!

A heartfelt addition to the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series.

It was jam-packed with a variety of things, including; scandalous family affairs, life-altering decisions, infertility, second chances, chest hair, a heroine whose childhood pulled at your heartstrings & a Hero who worshipped his woman.

Landry & Wade were great together. The struggles they went through pained me but watching them reunite & build their relationship even stronger than it was before felt oh-so satisfying.

Landry... Gods, talk about a sucky childhood that bled into adulthood. Her parents were utter sh*theads for what they did to her. She couldn't get away from them fast enough. The treatment from the other Bear Bottom Guardians after she left Wade, the fires, the dog rescue harassment, the mall parking lot shooting... So proud of her for staying strong & for letting Wade back into her life. Her 'gift' to Wade at the end gave me all the warm fuzzies a girl could want.

Wade... I was irked with him for pressing the 'save Lina' issue earlier on but I recognized the fact that his need to protect people was a strong one. It's definitely one of those situations that I would NEVER want to encounter in my life. He made up for it tenfold with how much he loved Landry. Staying celibate while separated, the beards burns he was determined to give her, his excitement at what really happened with the divorce decree, not harping on Landry about kids... He truly was a good guy.

Excited to read the next book in the series, My Bad, featuring Hoax & Pru. Bring on those OG LLV characters, baby!

Side Note: Chapter 9's text from Wade to Landry... So very true. #DontJudge

Another Bear Bottom MC story, woohoo. This is a completely different type of MC and a refreshing change too, every time I read one of these stories I find myself totally engrossed in the wonderful characters and storyline. This book is no different!

Landry met Wade Johnson when he helped his fellow police partner out by taking his class for the day. That meeting started things that led to their marriage, then divorce! However, both were not happy!

These two characters are fantastic together but this story really demonstrates how a stuffed up childhood can cause untold damage to someone later in life. As well how cruel and uncaring some parents are toward a particular child. The character development, as the story unfolds, enables us to get to know them at a much deeper level, especially with the story told from both of their perspectives. I will admit Landry did annoy me a tiny bit in the beginning but even she faced this herself.

A true sense of family is felt in this story, the brothers pulling together to support first Wade then Landry. It really is is an amazing feeling when reading these scenes. There is also a healthy dose of fun banter and camaraderie which supports this brotherhood.

This fast-paced, easy to read story hooks you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have finished reading the very last word. This book is literally packed with loads of action, drama and there is certainly never a dull moment to be had at any time.

I enjoyed the background mystery and mayhem that kept the characters on their toes and things hopping with some exciting and scary situations. However....the best part was the fantastic ending!

I love how Lani takes an MC book to another level... How About No is no exception, it is an emotion fuelled ride that is more than just the bond between the brothers, it is also an epic tale of love lost and found. Wade lost Landry after a regrettable decision, two years on he's still trying to come to terms with his wife being gone. Fate and an administration error throws them back together, but what tore them apart in the first place may still yet be an obstacle neither can overcome. This was a great story of love, hate and the bonds of family that can help you make it through even the toughest times.

By now, if you’ve kept up with my reviews, it has to be more than apparent how much I adore second chance romances as well as Lani Lynn Vale’s stories and characters. So the fact that I got both in How About No, Vale’s latest release, made Wade and Landry’s story that much better. But let me tell you, the author and the characters themselves make readers work for every step we take towards Wade and Landry’s second chance at love and it’s the characters’ stubbornness and pride as well as a few crazy situations that that threaten the couple’s reconciliation but as the title suggests, Wade’s not about to let this opportunity pass him by, so hold on to your seats and your kindle because it’s about to get as real and as honest as it needs to be in order for Wade to reclaim his girl, essentially reclaiming his life with her and his life in general.

I think because Lani Lynn Vale vividly illustrates the details of Landry’s tragic and horrific childhood as a second class citizen that has me championing for her from the very start. I can’t imagine being treated the way Landry is and still turning out the way she did…don’t get me wrong, Landry is more than scarred by her parents’ neglect, the numerous procedures, and the lack of an actual childhood, but the woman who Landry turns into, despite the pain and heartbreak that resonate from the pages of her memories, proves that people can choose to overcome or fall victim to their past.

I’ll be honest as much as I know that both Wade and Landry are to blame for their current state non martial status, my heart was always with Landry…did I think she was hasty in her initial reaction and her subsequent actions, absolutely, but her past mistreatment is still an open wound and Wade didn’t and still doesn’t truly understand the state of Landry’s relationship with her immediate family. Should she have told him everything…of course, but because Landry’s so used to everyone putting her last, that fear is always in the back of her mind, even when it comes to the love of her life, and the fact that Wade, unknowingly, plays into those fears is not something she can easily recover from, which means that Wade should have fought harder for an explanation from Landry for what he viewed as her over-the-top reaction.

I do feel like Wade’s ‘good guy’ personality needed to be fleshed out a bit more so that it was clear why he reacted the way he did when Landry refused to help her sister, yet again; there’s not much discussion as to why Landry knewWade wouldn’t react any other way than he did when it came to her helping her ‘family.’ The fact that Wade told her that she was overreacting didn’t sit well with me either because that reaction didn’t really align with my understanding of just how much in love these two were/are. If they had a bond like they professed they did, it shouldn’t have been this easy to walk away or stay away for two years. I get that both of them reacted without thinking and were too afraid and/or too stubborn to take back what had already been done, but the alpha male that Wade seems to be as well as the deep feelings that still exist between them should have forced his hand…he should have made his play long before she ends up next to him when he’s injured…saying to hell with anything or anyone else that could be a potential obstacle to their reunion and the fact that he doesn’t makes me a bit conflicted about him.

There are several supporting characters as well as fateful events in How About No that play a crucial role in Landry and Wade getting the life, the marriage, and the family that they both deserve; it’s definitely an interesting chain of events that occur to move the plot forward and to provide a means for the hero and heroine to finally face the conversation and the events that followed on that horrific night two years ago. There are quite a few variables at play throughout the story that add insight as well as promise for a future for these two and there are a couple of secondary characters, in particular, who I’d love to find out more about, so here’s hoping their stories eventually get told.

Wade and Landry’s story is both frustrating and endearing and that’s because these two characters allow their happiness and their marriage to dissolve without really putting up a fight, and while I can’t blame Landry for taking the drastic action that she does, dissolving a marriage where pure love still exists, I wish they would have fought more for one another…fought to understand the full truth of Landry’s past and the entire scope of her issues with her entire immediate family, including her ill sister. But I also know and believe that if true love exists then it will find a way to mend what’s broken and offer up a chance to make amends, which is exactly the opportunity that these two get in How About No.

My rating: 2 1/2 stars

What I liked: I liked Landry(h), I just wished she would have made Wade(H) work harder for her forgiveness. I also liked how she was anal about things touching the floor ring dirty. At least I’m not the only one, even if she is just a fictional character ;)

What I didn’t like: One of my pet peeves is when an author makes it so where one of the main characters get hurt and it helps them get forgiven quickly. To me it’s an easy out instead of making the character work for a forgiveness. Wade gets hurt on the job so of course Landry is there and feels guilty about ignoring him. To top it off he made it seem like it was all Landry’s fault. He blamed it on her being scared and was waiting for him to mess up but he did mess up. I wished she would have made him suffer more. Also, I wished he would of went to her but instead she went to him. Another thing is why did the poor h keep getting the shitty end of the stick ex: she gets shot, she lost her house and belonging in the fire, she can’t have children, his friends ignored her when it was the H’s fault and her parents were horrible…..with all that Wade should have begged for mercy.

Descriptive Sex: Yes

Major Spoilers/ Triggers/Details: In the beginning H and h are married. The h leaves him and ask for a divorce because he wanted her to help her sister. Unfortunately, the h was raise by horrible parents and was forced to help her sister who has leukemia by giving her bone marrow. The h’s parents also made her get her tubes removed because she got an infection and didn’t want her too sick for the sister. So, H not understanding the situation told her that she should do it. So h leaves him. 2 years later H gets hurt on the job(H is a cop) and they call the h. Seeing the H hurt makes her realize that she still loves him. They talk and H tells her that he will earn her back. They are later told that their divorce never was filed right and that they are still married. Deciding to make it work, they start opening up more. H finally understands why the h was so upset when he took her parents side. He also finds out that the h can’t have kids. h realizes that she pushed the H away because he wants kids. During the time that they are working things out a woman that had an incident with the h’s daycare causes problems. The h’s house gets caught on fire. Also, the h gets shot at. H goes to the sister to ask for her help. We learn that the h is only a half sister (that the dad cheated his wife with her sister) and that is why the h is treated like shit. HEA with them adopting.

Final thoughts: This book was a rough read for me. I definitely will read more from this author especially since I liked some of her other books. I’m just going to have to take a break and forget how this book annoyed before I read another from her.

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.blog,
This is the third book in the Bear Bottom MC Series but can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Wade and Landry who at the start of the book are divorced, but its clear they still love it other. Especially when Wade is shot in the line of duty, as Wade was an ex-navy seal and now a policeman.
It brings home to Landry how much she still loves Wade, as she waits in the hospital for news it makes her realise what’s important. This can be called a second chance romance, but this so much more. We have Wade determined to understand Landry and the damage her upbringing has caused and still does.
As this is Bear Bottom there a lot of mayhem going on. This is at time a very emotional story, and Landry discovers how much she is loved and not all family are blood. This LLV at her best, as her storytelling always affects me emotionally , and so it feels like it’s your best friends this happening too. If you  have already read LLV you know what I mean, if not give one of books a go and see what I mean. Lani Lynn Vale has very quickly become one of my auto buy authors.

Another great story by this author! Perfect second chance romance with some twists and turns along the way. As with the first book in this series, the story is great but it isn't an MC book. Wade is a member of the Bear Bottom MC but the story is really about Wade and Landry and where their story went wrong.

Wade never fell out of love with his ex-wife and she coes to realize the same. The two just need to reconnect and not make the same errors again. There are some dangers in their community and the fear of what could happen brings the two of them out of their funk and back to each other's arms.

Loved the story. Can't wait to see what else Bear Bottom will bring us.

Decent

Good but not sure Im going to continue with the series. I wished they dived a bit deeper into the guilt Wade felt when he learned the truth or better yet verbalized it. I also wish we had a reaction from him when Landry was in the hospital and let Cas know just how deeply hurt she was watching Wade and her sister. I just needed more

triggers this book touches on animal abuse and child neglect.

This one isn’t as bad as most of LLV’s other books, but it still has most of the same issues.

Story of Wade (cop) and Landry (daycare owner and dog rescuer). So they meet, fall in love, get married, get divorced. We don’t get any of those details. Not their first kiss or first time together. I always HATE when author’s do that. So Landry believes that her parents conceived her for the sole purpose of providing stem cells (or whatever) to her sister, who has cancer. They’ve forced Landry to do these surgeries all her life and basically she was treated like sh*t. Fast forward to her marrying Wade. When Landry’s sister needs another surgery, Wade is on the sister’s side and guilt trips Landry into doing the surgery. Instead of confiding in her husband about all the hell she endured as a child, Landry surprises him with divorce papers.

So even though I think it was sh*tty for Wade to not be on his wife’s side, I can totally understand it. Not only has Landry NEVER told her husband about her childhood, she didn’t tell him about her depression either, nor about her alleged BFF, Cort. And Cort was supposed to be her BFF during the same time that she started dating Wade. You’re going to tell me that you don’t introduce your future husband to your best friend?? Basically Wade married a woman he didn’t honestly know. Sure they had the chemistry, but he didn’t really know her. Oh – BTW – she can’t have kids and she married Wade knowing that he would want them. She never told him that before she married him. What a b*tch.

This book has the same potty humor as all the other books. Talks about pooping and farting and pubic hair. It’s just so old.

The other thing is that there are too many plot points and never any focus on one. This has happened in all of the books I’ve read so far. You had the potential leg amputation that never comes to pass. You get the injured dog, Capo, and you think he’s going to be a support dog for Wade, nope that doesn’t happen. Then we deal with her daycare and her dog rescue group. Those kind of die off. Her BFF Cort just leaves the book too. He’s not around for any of the crap that happens after her and Cort get back together. Not when she nearly dies or anything. Some BFF, right?? It’s just all too much!!! Pick something and stick to it!

Overall it’s not as bad as her other books so I rated it a little bit higher.

I can't say this enough, but this author and this series is just freaking awesome. I loved this book so much!

Landry just captured me from the first page of this book. Her parents are freaking horrible people. And even though she thinks she is messed up (who wouldn't be after a childhood like hers) I thought she was an amazing person. And her and Wade together just fit together.
After a quick courtship Wade and Landy got married, but not long after a misunderstanding happened and they got divorced. For the life of him he can't understand why she left and wanted a divorce. For Landry it was that Wade didn't put her first. After the childhood she had she wanted one person to put her above everything and everyone else, and she expected that from her husband.

After Wade was injured, Landry couldn't stay away and then another surprise hit them, the fact that they weren't actually divorced. Landry doesn't know how to deal with this and if she is ready to be married to Wade again. But when Wade finds out the real reason she left him, he will move heaven and earth to keep his wife by his side. Especially since there is a physco out there trying to harm her.

I loved this book, I loved the romance, the action, the drama, the heartache and the weird and physco parents. I loved that even though Wade and Landry were divorced they were never far from each other and they didn't like when other people got close to their husband/wife. Definitely another favourite of mine

Sigh another of my reviews that didn’t make it...

Ahh ok, Landry was made to save her sister, it was a bit of a shit storm with these sisters. But not for the reasons they both think.

Wade seems to be Landry’s knight and shining armor only he doesn’t listen to her and because he doesn’t he will lose out on the best thing he could have had.
Sometimes men just need to stop and listen.

I loved the back and forth, I didn’t like that Wade thought he knew best, but I wished Landry had let her story out long before so maybe it wouldn’t have ended up as it did.

The ending was great I liked how they once they all learned to listen things got resolved.

Again I love these narrators for Lani’s books they are just perfect.
