I am the odd man out as far as reviews go. For me this book was somewhere between "okay" and "I like it" so my rating is 3.5 stars. I'm not sure why but this book just didn't do it for me. I feel like the Vegas wedding was contrived and I found Adam to be a bit of a disappointment as a strong leading man. The story just lacked any sparkle for me. It's not bad and the author has a good writing style. I have read other books by Lisa Lace which I liked much better. Obviously this is just my opinion and it is what it is.

The Secrets Inside a Broken Heart💔 Laura💃💋 goes to LV with her three friends on the bride's👰 bachelorette getaway. Laura💃💋 owns a company that provides items especially designed for weddings. He gets Laura💋 to do some betting and she wins too! Then he invites her to his penthouse for some extra sexcular activities. ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book📑 with KU.
I loved and hated this book at The same time! It's well written but the romance between Adam🐺🍆🌋 and Laura💃💋 was frustrating. The book is written from dual points of view. Two lonely people realize what they have found is something wonderful and once in a lifetime. Yet, they, especially Laura💃💋, feel it's more important to get back to her job. I was disappointed Laura💃💋 was willing to throw a lifetime of happiness away for a job. I was especially angry at the wussy lack of a spine and character that Adam🐺🍆🌋 displayed throughout much of the book. But, if a book doesn't make you feel something, some emotion, then it hasn't gotten it's message across. I recommend! Besides, You know it's gonna have a happy 💘ending!
The published book has some other full length novels 📚 included for many hours of reading pleasure.
Though I really liked Lee too Me, I have a couple of issues that prevent me leaving five stars. Some of the emotional stuff towards the end was frustrating and I felt like it was unnecessarily dragged out. Adam has a situation that causes issues and the way he handles things seems ridiculous for his character. I really liked the first half of the book, but then there is kind of a twist added in and things just kind of go wonky with the story. There are also a couple of missed proofreading opportunities. On top of those things (this is not that major of an issue, but it still bugs me) the cover really doesn't represent the character at all based on details from the book. That being said, it is a decent story. The characters are well developed and they get their HEA. Which is why the book earns 3.5 stars with me. Though the characters seem well developed, I didn't really feel a lot of emotion with them. I understand some of the feelings and emotions the author was trying to elicit, I just wasn't feeling them. The book is a full length novel that ends at around 10% and then there are several other books by this author included. Though this isn't my favorite book I've read lately, I'm know there are readers that will love it.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this and I hated it. I loved Laura and Adam's fun loving relationship while in Vegas. It was sweet and endearing and just right. I love how they seem to have an effortless connection between each other. They bring out the best in each other. BUT I hated what Adam reveals when they go driving together. I could not stand that! I also couldn't stand how indecisive he was either. Thank goodness he makes up for it! But I mean come on! REALLY! Laura is independent and doesn't get all conniving like some women tend to be when backed into a corner or not liking a situation. Overall it was a great read. One of my favorites of the many I have read by Mrs. Lace.
Firstly let me say I love the cover picture this is a quick read it's so good great chemistry and a story that is so worth taking the time to read loved Adam and Laura they were so good together a five star book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Sometimes what happens in Vegas refuses to stay there… No matter how much you’d like it to. The fairly mature and responsible Laura is about to find that out, in spades.
Definitely the most responsible of the Vegas bachelorette party foursome, Laura is also the only one of the women that isn’t either married or engaged. She hasn’t really dated much in years, and the future bride along with Laura’s buddies, are on a mission to get her laid in Sin City.
As fate would have it, Laura and the rest of the party immediately catch the eye of the very hot, very successful, and at the moment, very lucky Adam. Outrageous peer pressure, amazing pick-up lines, tantalizing one-liners, and disappearing bachelorettes combine in a way that has to be read to be believed to create an epic one-night stand for Laura and Adam.
Or so they thought. But hey, one good night deserves another, right? It seems the lovers hit it off so well that when it’s time for the bachelorettes to return home to reality, Adam really wants Laura to stay with him in Vegas for the next couple of weeks. Again, her friends and a mighty Vegas impulse makes her say yes to what would have seemed crazy to her a week ago. So begins the grand adventure.
There was so much about this book that was just plain loads of fun. Laura’s friends together in Vegas for the party were a hoot. So was Adam’s character, especially as he interacted with others at the craps table before he met Laura. The characters were all believable and enjoyable, and the storyline moved along at a great pace. Really, the only problem I had at all was the sense that I was almost reading two different books: the first half of the book was a romantic comedy for sure—tons of giggles and great dialogue that kept me turning pages. The second half of the book was pure standard angsty romance novel—lots of miscommunication, secrets, lies, facepalms, and main characters who have suddenly lost the ability to make a decision and stick with it. Now don’t misunderstand here, I’m not saying I didn’t like the second half of the book. I still enjoyed it. It was just different than that rom-commy first half. But the fabulous HEA brings it all together nicely.
So what can a concerned reader expect in this adventurous tale? This is a book you can share with your co-workers: there’s plenty of sexy, steamy heat between Laura and Adam, and some mature language. But mostly this story is about friendship, truth, trust, love and dreams.
An excellent read. I loved how Laura and Adam met in Vegas where anything goes. The chemistry between them was so hot. I liked how the author described each day they had together laughing, chatting, getting to know each other. It was like their personalities were made for each other. Laura was in Vegas with her three girlfriends for a bachelorette celebration when she met Adam. Even how they met was sexy. Laura had only planned on one week in Vegas. But because her and Adam had such chemistry and shared such passion, he asked her to stay with him a little longer. On their last day in Vegas they wanted to end things with a bang and decided to get married as a joke and have it annulled the next day. Well when they went to the courthouse they found out they had to stay married for six months. So Adam was a traveling salesman and had to drive the last leg of his tour and asked Laura to accompany him so they could talk about the divorce. While en route to Illinois to drop Laura at her home on his way to Michigan where he lived, they encountered some difficulties between them. He had kept a secret from her and it threw a wrench into their relationship. Laura also had a secret of her own.. she was pregnant and decided not to tell Adam about it. Things got more complicated after that as they went their separate ways to resolve their problems, Laura realized that she loved him. Will they finally sort things out in their lives? Will they come clean with each other? You have to read this book. You will not be disappointed. Their are also some great bonus stories that are just as entertaining.
4.5 stars If you are going to do something crazy then Vegas it is baby! Adam is a sales rep for a medical equipment company and is doing some business and gambling in Vegas when he sees a woman with auburn hair doing a sexy little dance, across the room in a casino, after having won roulette. Laura is a self-employed owner of a company that designs items for weddings. She is in Vegas for a bachelorette party but her plans change when her friends encourage her to hook up with Adam, the handsome stranger. From the beginning the two are like moths to a flame as their chemistry just burns from their initial meeting. The more time they spend together they realize that there may be more to this than just a fling. However, Adam is hiding his past. What will he do when his past comes back into his life and where will that leave Laura? Not to be outdone, Laura is hiding a secret of her own and she cannot bring herself to tell Adam for fear of his reaction. This is one entertaining read filled with drama, surprises and realistic characters that showcase their vulnerabilities and their strengths to enhance the plot. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
Adam looks around the casino in Vegas, watching the various people. A casino waitress approaches, showing interest as she checks him out and asks if she can get him a drink. Then he takes her advice and heads off to the craps table. His $10,000 in chips draws the interest of a young man, Brad, who stays to watch him play. And his lucky streak holds strong. A cheer at the roulette wheel grabs Adam’s attention and he sees an attractive woman, apparently part of the bachelorette party that just won, and he can’t take his eyes off of her.
Laura, across the room, sees that the handsome guy just caught her doing her crazy “I won” dance. Her rowdy friends encourage her to get to know him. When he offers her a drink, she agrees. Where is this going to lead? What if this choice changes the rest of her life?
I absolutely loved this romance. It has an amazing plot, intriguing from beginning to end! The surprises keep the reader eagerly reading. It contains romance, drama, and heartbreak. I like the strong yet realistically vulnerable characters. And I look forward to the next book from this talented author.
From a Vegas fling to an impulse wedding followed by a road trip then a secret pregnancy, Adam and Laura have a lot going on in their pursuit of each other. At first, neither wants a serious relationship - Laura is focusing on her career and taking care of her mom, and Adam has just broken up with his fiancee after twelve years together. But it's not a clean break, and it does come back to haunt him before the story is over.
Everything starts with a look across the room, and I really enjoyed the way these two slowly came together, despite the heated chemistry they shared. Laura's caution was completely in character, but her friends deserve all the credit for pushing her beyond her comfort level. Detailing her relationship with her friends added a nice dimension to her overall personality.
At times it looks like Adam's being a jerk, but his heart was faithful to Laura throughout, even if he still had a mess to clean up. I thought he handled it all commendably. All in all, this was a terrific insta-love romance that showed it takes a lot of patience and communication to make a relationship really work. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION!!@ Oh my, my, my. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. It was electrifying and instant. No beating around the bush for this couple. You have all the excitement, pulse racing and heart pounding with a spicy dash of instant gratification thrown in to add all the flavor in the mix. The characters were intriguing and complex with an easy laid back outlook that's all Vegas. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Not so much this time. The scenes were so realistic and believable with such vivid detail and graphic descriptions that you feel a part of the tale instead of reading it from the sidelines. Twists, turns and unpredictable surprises that kept me captivated from the start. Secrets won't stay secret for long, not with players from the outside. An explosive chemistry that's so hot it burns stronger with each passing moment. A storyline that totally rocks as the plot thickens. Lace did an absolutely amazing job bringing this read together beautifully. She totally nailed the personalities that blended as smooth as silk with just enough rough patches you can feel the friction. Fantastic job Lace and thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
This was a fast read, good to kill the time. I enjoyed the chemistry and jokes between Laura and Adam, they were hard not to love together. But, maybe I'm just a petty person. Laura and Adam meet in Vegas and enjoy a couple weeks together. They decide they want to make their "fling" last longer, so they travel together. Things come to light and they realize that certain parts of their lives were omitted from each other. Basically, Adam should have been a bit more upfront. He seemed like he was a bit of a pushover or perhaps trying to make things work just for the sake of working. In the end it comes down to him deciding what he wants, is he still in time to get Laura back? Will he make the right choices?
It was a good contemporary romance but I would have liked a bit more groveling and maybe some karma for Alice.
"A Sweet and Touching Romance" This is a Sweet and Touching story. The characters are awesome. Adam is in Vegas for a business trip and to get over his fiance cheating on him. Laura is in Vegas with her friends Hannah,Naomi, and Amy. For Amy's Bachelorette party. When Adam and her meet they have a steamy fling. Adam does not tell her his dark secret. Their last day in Vegas they do a stupid stunt. They decided to get married. They thought they would just get it annulled the next day. Only to discover they can't. Adam talks Laura into staying with him during his business trip. And see where their relationship goes. But what will happen when she learns he is engaged to another woman! Especially when she learns of a secret about herself. That could change both their lives forever. You will love this sweet and touching romance!
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas may be a saying but sometimes things follow you home regardless. An unusual start to a romance and marriage. Very interesting sub-plots. The main male character, to me, appeared to take the line of least resistance. My impression of him was none too thrilling, however, as the story progressed he evolved and finally took responsibility for his actions. The main female character was consistent in her feelings for the main male character and portrayed a forgiving heart. All the characters were well depicted and came across clearly. The main male character did finish off strong at the end of the story and did redeem himself in my eyes. This was an interesting read and not typical of current romance stories on the market.
I received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest review.
Laura is in Vegas for a bachelorette party and when she meets Adam her friends encourage her to spend some time with him. Adam is in Vegas for work but when he sees Laura dancing after she has a win gambling he can't take his eyes off her. It was supposed to be a one night thing but it turned into so much more for the both of them. However Adam hasn't been honest with Laura about certain things and she has a secret of her own will these secrets be the end of anything happening between them?
This is a great story but you will be half tempted to toss your kindle or yell out aloud over some of the things these characters do. The chemistry between Laura and Adam is scorching hot. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.

I got this book and proceeded to read it the following day. I couldn't put it down and continued reading well into the night (consider yourself warned). I really liked the chemistry the main characters shared. My only complaint is that I wanted to read more...more about their back stories...more about their time together...just more!
I first discovered Lisa Lace through her TerraMates series and really liked her writing style. But let me tell you - she can write one heck of a contemporary romance novel too! I don't think I'll ever tire of reading her works. She is so creative with her stories. She really continues to amaze me with that creativity. I'm never disappointed! Thankfully I'm a Kindle Unlimited subscriber and can always find her books there!
What a read by Lisa Lace about Adam and Laura who meet in Vegas, have an amazing time and then when headed back to their lives secrets are revealed that are not too pleasant for either of them. What I loved so so so much about this read is the way everything was handled, their meeting, their sparks and attraction, their hesitancy, how Adam handled his dilemma, how Laura held her head up high, how they deal with their situation w/o cattiness and with a maturity that is rarely seen in book these days. Kudos... kudos to the author for delivering a read that is heartfelt, mature, steamy and sensual...this read will stick with me for a long long long time. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Laura is in Vegas with her friend Hannah. They are there for a bachelorette one week of fun, for Amy, four girls from college. They are there to drink, gamble, and have lots of fun. They all dress up and head out and get on the elevator. In the elevator Amy uses her little wand with a plastic cock on the end, she trying to conjure up a boyfriend for Laura. Adam is in the casino playing craps when he hears a group of girls at the roulette table. He can't take his eyes off of a beautiful redhead. This is a page turner and very hard to put down. This is one book I will read more than once. It made me laugh, cry, and gave me that warm feeling at the end. Lisa Lace always writes the best love stories. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.
Oh such an angsty read! I totally loved this one! I couldn't put it down. Laura was with her girls in Vegas for a bachelorette party. She was always focused on work and when she set eyes on Adam, she knew he was a distraction she wanted. He was smooth, tall, and sexy as sin. They went from hello to I do in no time. It was supposed to be just fun. They thought it could be fixed quick and easy. But that wasnt the case. Things got more complicated as time went on. They both hid something from the other. Now when the details of their secrets come to the surface can they move past it and fond their HEA? Grab it and find out. Had to purchase this one. Tons of bonus reads.
Adam enjoys traveling for work and is determined to have the perfect work/life balance. Laura is all about work, until a bachelorette party in Vegas sends her into a tailspin. One night turns into three weeks and one spontaneous marriage. Will Adam finally get the family he longs for? Will Laura be able to finally find a balance?
Have to admit that I wasn't sure of Adam after learning what he was hiding, BUT he won me over in the end. I did think that he was an idiot to continually jump back and forth when it came to things between him and Alice. I didn't blame Laura for hiding her secret in the end and could understand where she was coming from. Good read!

Oh what a good book. Laura and Adam meet in Vegas and have an immediate connection. Laura was hesitant at first, but her friends talk her into giving Adam a chance. Adam is there for business and when he sees Laura, he knows he has to have her. At first, I was like, I'm not going to like reading it because I was getting a"cheating" vibe from Adam, but the more I read the more I found that was not the case. However, Adam was rather wishy washy until the end. Then he redeemed himself to me. Just remember, what happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
Was totally engaged in the story and could not put it down! Laura is so ready to let loose and take a chance and ends up married and pregnant. Which would not be a probably since Laura and Adam love each other but Adam never broke off his relationship with Alice.
Unfortunately, Alice knows Adam well after twelve years and says the right things to make Adam unsure of what he should do! At times, I felt like smacking some sense into him but he finally sees the light!
Good thing for Adam, Laura was forgiving! Great HEA and loved that Adam made so many changes in his life for Laura and their baby.
A contemporary story of revelation. Laura has been a dutiful daughter to the point she has ignored her own personal life for years. A gathering of friends in Las Vegas gives her a chance to spread her wings and have fun.
Adam is a medical salesman who spends the majority of his time travel to various businesses to sale medical equipment. He has been in a rut for at least ten years and really doesn’t know how to break this cycle.
This story is written as if it could happen to you and that makes it’s a reality in writing.
I have read and reviewed this story without obligation to the author.
I loved the story of Adam and Laura. The attraction between them is instantaneous when their gazes meet at a casino in Las Vegas. When they spend a night together, feelings begin to surface, and what was meant to be just a one night stand, soon turns into three weeks together in Las Vegas. And on their last night, they get caught up in the moment and end up marrying in a small chapel. When Laura decides to spend a few more weeks traveling with Adam, a secret of him comes out and can threaten everything they've lived through. Will they be able to overcome this secret and move on? Or will each one go their way without looking back? I loved the story and the characters.
Well written story with nice storyline and plot. A fast paced and instant attraction novel with a mix of drama, danger, trust, lust, love, protectiveness, passion and emotional ups and downs. It has some twists in it. A sweet and steamy novel with lots in it. About letting the walls down and let the one that fate has chosen for you in. The characters are likeable and well described. I like that it is a bit different than usual stories with this theme. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. It is engaging and recommendable.
I liked the characters. I liked the story. I liked the premise. The only thing I didn't feel fit was when Laura found out about Alice she stayed with him. And when he kept telling her "I never made you any promises", why would she stick around?! The doormat quality with that really dragged the story down. And then when he hides her in the bathroom that was beyond overkill. Then when he shows up even tho she acts cold it takes pretty easy smooth talker and she caves right away. Just seems she started out so strong and as the story progressed it made he a weakling and it caused me to lose interest.
Oh my goodness! I could not put this down! Adam and Laura meet in Vegas. She just won big and the hot guy she was looking at noticed her! They get together for a fling of sorts. Then decide they want to try for something more. They have both omitted telling the other certain things. This sets them on a wrong turn. But the question is....Will they be able to come back from the wrong turn and have a HEA? A must read book that is fascinating from start to finish!
