Two Hearts, One Stone is by Leslie Scott. This author is a new to me author. I was drawn to this book by the beautiful cover!

cowboy

Stone Dempsey is a horse trainer living on his boss, Howard Cole’s ranch. He loves what he does and he’s good at it. Stone is quite the man around town with the ladies. He has never given his heart to any woman. His good looks makes it possible to have any woman he wants. But his life is about to change in some pretty major ways!

cowboy leaning against the truck

Emmersyn “Emmy” Cole is about to start a life she has worked towards for a very long time. She’s out of medical school and is starting a pediatrician’s office in the small town where her grandfather lives. She always loved it here and can’t wait to spend time with her beloved grandfather. It’s when she meets her grandfather’s resident horse trainer that things took off in a direction she was definitely not prepared for.

“Eight years of college, countless clinicals and internships, and nothing had prepared her for one Georgia horse trainer with the devil in his eyes.”

pretty female pediatrician

Stone is immediately drawn to the sexy Doctor. But after one night together, he realizes that he needs more. That this woman is a woman he wants more time with, that she is special.

At the same time, after having gone missing for over a year, Stone’s little sister shows up, high on drugs, with a sick baby girl. Before he knows it, she runs off and leaves him with the sick infant.

“In such a short time, his life had changed so drastically the importance of everything had shifted.”

Stone was suddenly thrown into the role of a father. The connection between he and Emmy also grows but Emmy is fighting it all the way. She’s convinced that her Cowboy Casanova is just having fun. That it doesn’t mean anything.

“With Emmy, there could be more than just one night or a few weeks. Emmy wasn’t just something worthwhile – she was everything.”

baby girl and cowboy boots

This was unexpectedly a fairly short book. I never really did feel the connection I wanted to feel between Emmy and Stone. Even though they were spending time together and sleeping together, she still tried to convince herself that it was all just for fun. That there were no feelings involved. What I did love about this book, though, was Stone’s immediate acceptance of little Maddie, his niece, into his life. He took on the role of father like a champ and he had no experience whatsoever. He had to be taught how to chance a diaper. I also loved the way he recognized that Emmy was important to him. Even though his life had completely changed, he accepted it without hesitation. So even though some things about the book disappointed me some, it was still a sweet story of two people finding love when they least expected it. Isn’t that the way it always happens?

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley

3,5 stars.
The H was super/hiper/man-ho! We've got him with one of his one night stands on first pages. Disgusting!! He had under his bed some G-string if his previous lovers... I repeat, disgusting!!

Only when he got his sister's baby I liked him a bit more. He was really caring dad, tender and patient.

I liked the heroine. She decided to have some sexual encounters with him, she didn't want love and romance.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a contemporary cowboy romance. Leslie’s writing style is easy and enjoyable and entertaining. Her narrative gave us a story that is fun and witty, romantic, and heart-warming, amusing and yet at times saddening. This is a very quick read. It is written in dual POV which I love because you get a well-rounded picture of what is going on.

Sexy cowboy Stone Dempsey is a manwhore and completely shameless. He is about to have his life turned upside down. One thing he knows and knows well is women and horses but definitely not the one thing that will bring him to his knees.

Emmersyn doesn't want a relationship and especially not one with the manhoe in front of her.

Leslie Scott’s contemporary cowboy romance novella Two Hearts One Stone snared me right off the bat with its hilarious opening.
Angry women could be tenacious creatures. Mostly, for Stone Dempsey, they were beautiful, succulent, amazing beings in whose bodies he could seek a thousand pleasures.
“You washed up, low-life, piece of shit! How dare you?”
Occasionally though, one would find another’s lacy black thong beneath his bed and cling to that betrayal as if her life depended on it.
Studly horse trainer Stone Dempsey’s been trawling the country club set for his playmates. Rich married women provide fun and frolic without lasting consequences, and that’s how he likes it. Until Emmersyn. Granddaughter of the ranch owner who employs him, this tall, cool, confident pediatrician has returned to town to open her practice. And, get this, she’s a former champion at reining (like Western dressage). Typical romance novel dilemma—they’re fiercely attracted to each other, but she’s not about to let a “man whore” into her life, and he’s not about to ruin his career by messing with the boss’s granddaughter.
I enjoyed the way Scott played out their attraction, strong and dramatic, yet believable, with lots of humor as both characters resist the chemistry tugging them together. The secondary characters, Emmy’s nurse and receptionist, provide humor and wise counsel, as well as a peek at Stone’s better qualities. But the dam of Emmy’s resistance really breaks when Stone’s drug-addicted sister drops off her adorable baby daughter then flees. Of course, this event tugs Emmy closer to Stone as they both develop a strong attachment to the child.
The riding sections are well-written, the conflict believable, and the love scenes steamy and delicious.

**Disclaimer: I received an ARC version of this Kindle book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which follows.**

Sexy cowboy Cassanova meets sweet pediatrician in Leslie Scott's newest cowboy romance, Two Hearts One Stone.

Stone Dempsey is sexy, smooth, a fantastic horse trainer... And a shameless playboy who has more notches in his bedpost than any man has a right to. When his boss's granddaughter, Emmersyn, moves back to town to start her pediatric practice, Stone is immediately attracted. Except she has a front row seat to a spectacular exit from his latest conquest, and his reputation precedes him.

Emmersyn doesn't have time for a relationship. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself. Stone makes it easy to resist, at first. But when he shows up at her grandfather's house with a sick baby, she's caught in a tornado of emotion. When she learns the baby isn't his daughter, and a bit more of Stone's story comes to light, she has an increasingly difficult time convincing herself to stay away.

Ms. Scott weaves steamy sexual chemistry with deep characters against a southern rural backdrop filled with tempting debutantes and high-value horses.

This is the kind of romance I love to read, and it kept me turning the pages to find out what happens next.

For fans of adult contemporary romance and sexy cowboy stories. Mature language and scenes, with a sweet story and subplot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming romance and although it is a fairly quick read the storyline was packed full of drama and romance. Horse trainer Stone Dempsey has a reputation as being a ladies man and his equine talents both help him impress the people at the country club and help him earn money for ‘Smoky Mountain Reining Horses’. Stone’s life becomes complicated when his drug addict sister leaves her sick baby daughter on his doorstep. Meanwhile Paediatrician Dr. Emmersyn Cole has moved in with her grandfather and has started her own practice. She is well aware of Stone’s reputation and although she was instantly attracted to him when they met she is determined to not get involved. However, when he rushes into her grandfather’s home with his sick baby niece Emmy can’t help but feel for him. The more time the couple spend together the more Stone realises that Emmy is the woman for him and Emmy starts to see a different side to Stone, one that she likes. I loved the two main characters as both Stone and Emmersyn were likeable and relatable people and the chemistry between them really came across in the narrative. I liked how their relationship developed despite the numerous misunderstandings, complications and drama that occurred in the story. I was hooked from start to finish and was cheering Stone and Emmy on hoping they would get their happy ever after. An enjoyable and engaging short read.

When your instantly having to look after your baby niece, will Stone's life slow down or will he find the woman to save him.

Stone is a Horse trainer and manwhore and is not a shamed of the reputation but when he is thrown into having to look after his sisters baby girl everything changes with his world.

Emmy has returned home to her grandfather's ranch and has a mega crush on him as soon as she steps on the ranch. After a brief one night stand with Stone there relationship takes a turn as she is his sole help with looking after his sick niece.

This is the first story I have read by this author and I loved the flow of the story and the characters interactions, the only thing I would say is that the story was not long enough to get the full aspects of the chemistry between these two characters. I thought that the Emmy's character was a brilliant female character with her smart and intelligent personal traits, although I did not have a real connection with Stone's character I have read a lot of man whore romance books but I could not really get into him until you see the softer side to him and then as I said there was not enough story to redeem himself in the long run.

I would definitely read more books by this author as I enjoyed the flow of the story and can't wait to read more.

I really enjoyed this cowboy romance. It has all the elements of a good romance, the womanizer  cowboy and the smart woman trying to resist his charms.
The characters are really well written that you can't help feel invested in their story. Even though the book is a short read it contains a full story which is nice as some short reads feel like they are missing parts.

Stone is a horse trainer. He's the best in the business at what he does and he has a reputation as a ladies man. However all that changes when 2 woman walk into his life and blow it apart.

The first is his baby niece. When she is left by her mother Stone has to change his ways from the playboy cowboy to become the little girls father. Stone has no idea what to do so he goes to the only person he can think of Emmy.

Emmy had moved to live with her Pop and open up her pediatric clinic. The last thing she wants is to get involved with the cowboy. However when Stone turns up on her door step with a sick child she finds herself drawn to him.

Can you really fight what's meant to be? Will Stone go back to his old ways and hurt Emmy? Will they work as a ready made family?

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott

This is the first book I've read by Scott, but if she writes like this for all her books then it won't be my last. Two Hearts, One Stone is a fantastic read. I hope there is more to Stone and Emmy.

Stone Dempsey is the best horse trainer in town. He originally came to town to take care of his sister, but she left him there. She shows up a year later with a sick baby. He rushes to his boss's house for the Doctor. The quote I chose for Stone is: “There hasn’t been a woman in my bed since the day I met you Emmersyn Cole, and that ain’t because of Maddie. You got under my skin like an itch I can’t scratch. I don’t know how, but I’m going to prove it to you.”

Emmersyn aka Emmy is back in town opening a pediatric clinic. She didn't think she would find herself falling for the trainer that gets into everyone's pants. When she sees Stone taking care of his niece she finds herself falling hard. The quote I chose for Emmy is: “No. I’m not. I just don’t want Pop getting his hopes up.”

Highly recommended for Western Romance lovers.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a romance story. This story takes a known player making him into a fantastic father figure and giving the most important responsibility a baby. What woman can deny helping a baby and getting to know the man taking that responsibility?

Stone Dempsey, a horse trainer, lives for the thrill of the ride—with both horses and women. He uses his equestrian skills to impress the country club set while raising funds for Smoky Mountain Reining Horses. He's unexpectedly saddled with real responsibility when his drug-addicted sister leaves her sick baby on his doorstep. Dr. Emmersyn Cole's dream of opening a practice in her favorite spot on the planet is coming true, and she isn't going to let anything get in the way. She's adamant about keeping her distance. Until he runs into her grandfather's house, frightened and helpless, holding a feverish infant, and her heart's hard shell starts to crack.

I loved every page of it. The love story was unique and drove me to finish the story as quickly as possible. It was like this book devoured me.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and now she has a new fan. I love a good cowboy romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. These characters hooked me into their story right from the beginning. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

Stone Dempsey is your typical cowboy that can have any girl he wants. He loves training horses. Stone meets the beautiful Emmy Cole. She is not like all the other ladies at all. Emmy is a pediatrician and she loves her job and she knows a playboy when she sees one. When Stone’s sister drops off a sick baby he has to learn how to be an adult really fast. He also can’t get the beautiful doctor out of his mind but is there something more? Will Stone be able to get the girl and be a good parent to his niece or will it be all too much for this cowboy?

There's only a few things that can bring a self proclaimed playboy to its knees and Emmie is running a close second to.... a baby.

His strung out sisters baby.

His niece and she is sick.

Stone's only option is to get Dr.Feelgood herself to help baby Maddie out.

This story was adorable. The characters were fun and relatable and I love seeing a playboy brought to his knees. The only thing that bugged me is that it could use another edit. Other than that I would love to read more from this author.

Leslie Scott pulls at the heart strings with this story of learning what love really means. Stone is an attractive horse trainer who wins the hearts of women and the will of the horses he trains. He doesn't think much of the women or the horses he spends fleeting time with. That is all before life brings him responsibility and maturity in the form of his niece. Suddenly a single parent of an infant, Stone finds support and friendship in Dr. Emmerysn Cole. The distance she planned to keep between herself and the ladies man soon begins to shorten as her love and care for the infant grows. Will it be a love shared and returned by Stone? Will the baby have a new family? Will Stone's sister reappear and take the baby away? There's more to this story than a simple romance.

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott. I loved this book. Its the story of Stoney Dempsey a hot horse trainer who is known for his love em and leave em ways. He owns Smokey Mountain Reining Horses. One day his sister who is messed up on drugs leaves her baby on his doorstep he is lost and his life is turned upside down. Emmersyn Cole is a Doctor who has always wanted to start a practice in her hometown so when she gets the opportunity she jumps on it. Whenever Stoney's niece gets sick he runs to Emmy for help and falls in love instantly or at least lust. Emmy is not in the least bit interested in Stoney because of his man whore ways but she will help his niece. The fact that Stoney works for Emmy's grandfather is a problem because if he hurts Emmy he could lose his job but he has feelings for her he's never had before. Read Two Hearts, One Stone to find out if Stoney settles down!

This book was a quick read...but it was a good story.
Stone is a horse trainer with a bit of womanizing past. But his world is turned upside down by his sister and now he will have to figure out what is really important in his life.
Emmy has recently moved back to her hometown to open up her own practice. She has seen Stone (and likes what she sees), but she is focused on her business. When she finds Stone's at her grandfather's, she may have a change one her outlook as to what is important in life.
This fast read packs quite a story. I loved both of the characters. There was enough depth to keep me engaged...and enough drama to keep me turning the pages. There are ups and downs...but the story is quite good. I don't want to give anything away...so go read it!

I really really enjoyed this little story! It has all the feel good moments that make me smile while reading. I couldn’t stop laughing at Tara and Naomi! Those two cracked me up. While I liked Emmersyn(great name Btw) I really loved watching Stone evolve. We see him at his worst and frazzled and then he moves on to his best. I love love love that Stone knew and admitted what he wanted from Emmy. Nothing is sexier than a man who knows what he wants and goes after it. Relationship aside he really became a stand-up guy and I loved all his little ah-ha moments.

Overall this is a story to be enjoyed over and over. It’s a quick read for those times when I just want a little something but fulfilling in all the right places. I highly recommend this!

Two Hearts One Stone is my first read by Leslie Scott, but I’m sure it’s just the beginning of a beautiful relationship with this talented author. Her easy writing style brought the characters to life and the narrative provided an amusing, romantic, heartfelt and well rounded story. This is a very quick read, but endeared readers to the primary couple and only left me wanting more. I’m hoping this is just the first of many more stories set in this environment, and I’d definitely like to keep in touch with what’s happening in Stone and Emmersyn’s world. So maybe a sequel? Just throwing it out there Ms Scott.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, The Wild Rose Press, Inc via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a wonderful story. Stone is a womanizing horse trainer working for Emmersyn Cole’s grandfather. Emma returns home after becoming a doctor to open up a practice in her hometown. The fireworks just light up right from the beginning. There were parts that were hilarious and some sad. The road to a HEA was filled with strife, jealousy and other women interference.

The dual POV format was really helpful to help me identify with the characters. This is a book that I highly recommend for someone over the age of 18.

I enjoyed this sweet romance story. This is a new author for me and I can’t wait to see what is next for her. This is a well developed story about Stone who is all of a sudden faced with real responsibility and Emmerslyn who is finally getting her practice started. What she didn’t expect was for him to walk into her life. Now he is faced with someone who needs him and someone who has his heart. What will fate have in store for them? They are really great characters that are relatable and made me feel as if I was right there with them. It was entertaining reading their story as well as a page turner. I highly recommend finding out what happens to these two by reading this book.

Wow! Loved this book, the story was short and sweet. I wish I could see more of this couple, and what the future held for them, but by the ending I’m thinking it would be nothing but love and beauty. I was really hurting with Emmy when there were a couple of misunderstandings with Stone and other ladies, and he gets upset by them but I understand her, he is a man whore and she is reluctant to trust him to be with one woman. It is so sweet to see him do a complete turn around when faced with raising a baby, it melted my heart and made me happy to see him want a forever kind of love finally after al the years of playing around. Even though the story was short, all of the info that needed to be there was there and I enjoyed meeting all the characters. I look forward to what is next from this author.

Two Hearts, One Stone is part of the Boots and Babies series by Leslie Scott.

Stone Dempsey has a bit of a reputation as a ladies man. He works hard as a horse trainer and likes to play hard too. That all has to change when his niece is left on his doorstep and he is suddenly left holding the baby.
Emmy has her doubts when she hears about Stone’s predicament. She knows his reputation and doesn’t know if he’s up for this commitment.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but managed to pack a whole lot of action in. The chemistry between Stone and Emmy is there by the bucketload, and I loved that both of the main characters were strong, feisty, and full of passion. This story moves at a quick pace, and it’s a very easy read. This is my first book by this author, but I will definitely look out for more in the future.

Two Hearts One Stone by Leslie Scott is book one of the Boots and Babies series.

Stone and Emmersyn don’t exactly get off on the best foot. Stone doesn’t really do commitment which Emmersyn finds out right from the get go. Emmersyn has one goal and she won’t be sidetracked even for Stone that is until he needs her help and she sees a different side to him. Will Emmersyn be able to look passed Stone’s past with woman or will she constantly wait for the other shoe to drop? Will Stone be able to convince her to take a chance?

I really enjoyed this book. I devoured it! Stone is more than meets the eye. Emmersyn is cautious but she’s sassy which made reading fun! I highly recommend!

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott is a sweet romance that I absolutely loved reading. I was drawn in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down till the end. This is a story about Stone and Emmersyn. Stone Dempsey is a sexy cowboy ,Horse Trainer that is a bit of player. Dr. Emmersyn Cole is the new pediatrician in town and also happens to be Stone's boss’s granddaughter. Emmersyn doesn’t have time for playboy Stone especially since she had a front row view of his last lady friend. What will happen when a sick baby turns up on Stones door step? Can Emmersyn help him and the baby? I highly recommend reading this fast paced sweet romance to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a well written romance story. This is a new author for me and I enjoyed the way the characters were portrayed in the book. I felt the chemistry between them right from the word go. The sparks just seemed to fly between them. I thought their story was an enjoyable. They aren’t really as different from each other as I initially thought. I thought this was a great short story and the perfect way to be introduced to this author. I am looking forward to discovering more of her work in the future.

In Two Hearts, One Stone we meet Stone Dempsey, a playboy horse trainer and also Emmy Cole, a pediatrician who recently moved back to town to start her own practice.
Emmy is off limits as she is the ranch owners granddaughter and well, thats just not done. But when Stones sister drops in for a quick visit and leaves her infant daughter when Stone isn't paying attention, Stone runs to Emmy for help with the sick child.
This is a real quick, engaging read and it will keep you wanting more.

This is a sweet romance with a healthy dollop of heat featuring a hunky horse-training cowboy with a reputation as a player and his boss' granddaughter, a sweet, but stubborn, pediatrician and prize-winning horsewoman. Turns out... they play verrrrry well together. Especially after our hero's druggie sister abandons her baby to his care.

It's a short, fast-reading book, predictable, but still pleasant to read.

Three and a half stars, rounded up to four.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) written by Leslie Scott was a really good read! I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it at first or not, because I'm not a huge fan of western type novels, but by a few chapters in I was completely hooked! This book has it all! It has the steam, the romance, great content, intrigue, suspense and drama. This book has me laughing, gasping on the edge of my seat, and crying. I couldn't believe how much I loved this book. Loved this story. I'm a sucker for a good cowboy any. Stone is the bad boy every woman loves. He loves them right back. But there is more to Stone than first sight would suggest or that he would want you to know... I love Leslie's writing and really look forward to more western romances from her. If you liked this one check out her Arkadia Fast series.
