If you think I have it all, you're wrong.

I’m Morgana Silk and I'm a hybrid. Daughter of the Fae Storm King, my mother's witch family has wanted me dead since I killed her in childbirth. Fun. Right? Yeah. Until one day, I wake up with a dead body in my bed, and find myself framed for the murder of a highly respected alpha.

Grayson Xenos is tailing me. He's as handsome as his jaguar is deadly, and I certainly didn't expect him to have my back. The enemy has an evil magic I can't face on my own, and Grayson needs me to help him just as much as I need him. He's a temptation I can't ignore nor deny. I have the power to unmask the hidden enemy and he has the power to take them down.

But only if I can embrace the heritage I’ve avoided for so long…

This was a great read, I love reading fantasies with hybrids in them. Curse of Iron was suspenseful and quite enjoyable. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Gave up after 5 chapters

I gave up after chapter 5, 20% of the way through the book. It is poorly edited, some sentences missing words and random words starting with "i" we're capitalized regardless of their placement in the sentence. The story lacks cohesion; random facts are awkwardly thrown out to provide world building and backstory, mostly from the MC's POV. The MC jumps from topic to topic with no linking between them. Paragraphs of two or three sentences will switch topics with each sentence with no indicator of a common theme. Cohesion between paragraphs is practically non existent.

The MC feels paper thin and pretty unimaginative; typical trained to fight female who meets an attractive male and loses her head in 0.2 seconds. Of course he has to pin her, she "fights" and then stupidly runs. He of course catches her because duh, shifter. You'd think a fellow supe would know how to not be an idiot around a shifter. And despite her generous use of magic she hasn't felt drained. That scene in the interrogation room was a poor showing; one would have expected the MC to keep her wits about her enough to not succumb to the truth spell, but then she hadn't shown much in the brain department before then. Waking up next to a body would be discombobulating for sure, but the woman should have some survival instincts.

Needless to say, 5 chapters of watching her stumble around and be rescued by males was more than enough for me. The storyline and writing quality are too low for me to want to continue.

Almost 3.5 stars.

I would have given it four stars because this series has a lot of potential, but the authors need to be aware that sometimes the reader needs more information to understand what's going on, who is speaking, etc. Just because they can visualize everything while they're writing doesn't mean a reader can make the same conclusions without enough to go on. A few times throughout the story I found myself re-reading after getting thrown off.

I'll be reading the next book regardless, but I kind of hope it had a better editor.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see the full extent of Morgan's power. I'm sure it will take her some time to get there but damn, she's already very impressive. I would also like to see Grayson developed further with an interesting back story fleshed out for him.

I’ve never read these authors, but they have been on my radar for some time, and I was really excited to read this latest series by them. I really liked the story line, the characters, and the writing was engaging. I’m intrigued enough to want to read the next book. However, I did find some of the scene changes abrupt, the characters changed mood mid-scene, and I sometimes had to reread to find out what has happening. It wasn’t all the time, but did happen enough to comment on (and I don’t normally comment on this because I can generally ignore it). All this could have been caught with just a little bit more editing. But, even with these problems, I did see a great book inside there, and I really do want to read the next one to see what’s coming next, and I will. 3 ½ stars rounded up to 4, but I do recommend!

Morgan is a hybrid, high Fae princess and a witch. A powerful witch. Someone wants her dead, because a prophecy says she will ruin the witches. Grayson is out hot jaguar shifter male lead. Tons of twists and turns. Action packed with some romance mixed in. I’m loving this so far. Going to start on book two this evening.

Interesting storyline needs editing

I like the main character. I like the storyline. There does seem to be a lack of development and world building. A human character introduced at the gym is never mentioned again. I would have enjoyed it more if there had been more details and worldbuilding. I will continue to the next book.

I liked this heroine, she was less needy than the other so called Badasses female protagonist I see in other novel of this genre. I liked how the male love interest understood distance and chose to take it slowly in his seduction.

I got this as a ebook from a facebook page that the author is in. I enjoyed reading it. It had a good story to it. It is my first book by this author. I also have book #2 in this series that I will read next. It had a good story to it.

Enjoyed the story

This was a good book with likable characters. I really enjoyed reading it and will read the sequel and probably any others in the series. The only problem I found was a lot of typos. Some words were either spelled wrong or had close to the right word but a little off and it made the story confusing at times.

DNF after ch6.

I was lured in by the great blurb and boy, that first scene really grabs your interest. But then as I continued reading, I felt like I was on a helter-skelter journey of names, scenes, and info without a map to guide me. I found the transitions between chapters, heck, even paragraphs, to be very choppy. I also felt like there wasn't any cohesiveness to the plot --- where's the world building? the stage setting for the characters and their lives?

Sorry, but I'm deleting this from my Kindle.

Story didn't pull me in, it was too choppy and had no flow. We jump from one scene to another with no explanations, and sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled by a car while trying to keep up but am unable to. Morgan is a contradiction, for someone who people are trying constantly to kill, she comes off as weak (mentally and physically). She was really all talk and no bite, so much self-pity in that character and I was done with her mid-way through. Grayson is hot and cold when it comes to Morgan, sometimes he's into her and other times he's cold for no reason. I really don't see the attraction. Anyways don't think I'll be continuing with this series

This book had so much potential. I really liked the "voice" of the authors. It read well and quickly. I liked the pacing as well as the character- and world-building. The story had a few twists and turns and wasn't entirely predictable. It had all the makings of a solid first novel in a new series.

If only the authors had taken the time to properly edit. For the most part, the spelling and word choice were appropriate. However, there were many instances where sentences went nowhere. They made absolutely zero sense. There were times they just left the sentence incomplete. Not just missing a punctuation mark but not even bothering to complete the thought. They are also in desperate need of a class on how and when to use a comma. It wasn't so much that they forgot to use them. Instead, they'd just place them mid-sentence (between the subject and verb, for example). Formatting was also a big issue. Random words mid-sentence would be capitalized. Paragraphs involving dialogue were rarely done correctly (for example, there would be two different speakers within the same paragraph). You'd also find words missing their first letter. Worse than the grammar and formatting, however, was the lack of continuity editing. "Facts" presented in the story had the habit of changing, sometimes just a page or two later. If they are unable to keep their facts straight within a single novel, I'm scared to see how inaccurate subsequent books in this series will be. If the authors had bothered with editing this, it'd be a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. Despite this, I still plan to give book 2 a chance (because the potential is there) and just hope things improve so I don't spend all my time cringing at such obvious errors like I did with this one.

I'm not a native speaker, so i don't know if it's me or the books need editing. Especially the second book felt like a rough draft. It felt disjointed and skipping lines or something. I had to reread dialogues in order to catch up on suddenly changing topics.. Or like with the kiss that has been promised in contract: a kiss supposed to happen after the battle but had already happened and described in details..
That shifter ? What an ass ! she s so unused to be loved that she accepts the humiliation of being the other woman. I m dissapointed in her. And from reading the rest of the synopsises, it's clear she's not gonna break up with the ass. I hoped for another love interest. At this point even tryst is better than the macho insecure bastard. He begrudged her her powers, wanted her to diminish herself and hoped to become not only stronger, thanks to her fey powers, but stronger than her. He wanted to humiliate her by seeking a shifter mate while keeping her too. But then, when she has the balls to break up, she is suddenly remembering it as a sacrifice of the one guy who loved her above his own ambitions, if not for the sake of pack tradition. The pining over the piece of shit is pathetic, and she d convinced herself that the jerk was good for her and that they separated only to avoid the challenges. There are red flags even, times he manhandled her. I'm remembering now the dead alpha whose been left in her bad and how he was best freind with this guy, dispite his ex wife's claims of abuse. It comes with being alpha it seems.

I read this one in between working from home one rainy Saturday. I loved it! My only complaint was that it was a little short, but the storyline rounded out and I will be looking into the second novel in the series.

Morgana 'Morgan' Silk is the daughter of a High Fae and a witch who was 'volunteered' to spend one night with said fae, which resulted in a daughter. Being a half-breed has never brought Morgan anything but ill wishes from her witch relations and a cold shoulder from the fae. Now, she has woken up to a dead body in her bed and a handsome were-jaguar hunting her down to find out just what had happened.

This was a fast paced, easy read with loveable characters and a heroine who is just beginning to discover what she really is capable of. She is already a tough nut and a little unpredictable at times, but I also liked that she is humanised by her concern for others, her justified trust issues and her lust for the level headed jaguar.
Good chemistry between the two main characters, though they stay very PG throughout and I am curious about the mysterious Tryst.

I loved the use of the Wild Hunt in this novel- I've always wondered if the concept of shifters is linked to the fae Hunt and I would like to see Miers and Knox explore the idea further. Aside from the focus on the Wild Hunt in The Witcher game, I haven't seen many stories focussing on what is a massive part of fae myth and I'm curious what elements they will bring into it.

This is my second audio book by Graceley Knox and D.D. Miers and it yet again it was another great listen.
It’s a great start with our leading lady waking up in bed with the taste of stale beer in her mouth and another person lying next to her. She figures she has to have had one too many drinks the night before and not remember bringing someone home, even if that is out of character. What’s more worrying is she realises that person is eerily still and cold to touch. She switches on the light and sees he is dead but not only that she recognises him!!! He is the baddest and most powerful alpha in town and he is lying naked and very dead in her bed!!!! Before she even has a chance to call for help the police break down her door.

It’s clear she has been set up but by who?

From here we find out she has many enemies. Our leading lady Morgan is a hybrid. She is half witch and half FAE and very much an outcast. She had an awful upbringing yet still manages to stay positive and sassy but with a big heart.

Please check this out to see what happens next as you will love it. Loads of twists and turns but best of all one badass lady that can kick some ass 😬

Top marks 5/5

Morgana's life kinda sucks she isn't accepted by the supernatural word as she is a hybrid and her own witch family has been trying to do away with her since forever and she doesn't really fit in with the human world due to her powers which I have to say are pretty cool! Thing take an even worse turn for her when she wakes with a dead Alpha in her bed and the cops arrive before she has even finished trying to call them. Morgana thinks she is on her own trying to work out who killed the Alpha but Greyson who may very well be the next Alpha has decided he will help her which leads them both on a path of deceit, back stabbing, lust and danger lots of danger. There were many great characters who you want to get to know more and I just loved how the story unfolded with you really not know who was behind it all and even when you find out more you are like what?!?!

This is the first time listening to a fantasy romance. This story was surprisingly good. It caught my attention from the beginning and had a lot of interesting characters. It was heavy on the magic and a slow burn on the romance.

Morgan and Grayson come together to find the person who murders the shifter Alpha and frames Morgan for the murder. Along the way, Morgan realizes her true potential and makes friends with people she always thought hated her. She learns to accept her fae heritage and magic to become the savior everyone needed.

I am excited for the next installment on the series to find out what happens with Morgan and Grayson love story and if the high Fae court will ever accept Morgan as the true heir. If you are love or appreciate fantasy romance, please give this one a try. It's a roller coaster of a ride!

Half-blood she is...

All of her life Morgan has had people trying to kill her all because she is half far and half witch. Well all for a prophecy that says a half breed will take down the witches. Morgan just wants to live her life without threats from her family. Well Grayson isn't family and he just wants to know why she killed his alpha, or did she... this story will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out who is trying to frame Morgan for something she didn't do. Action packed, thrilling, and a lovers beginning. Watch out for Morgan she has a lot in store that she doesn't even realize she is capable of. I will be keeping a close eye on this series to see what Morgan and Grayson end up doing!

*I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.*

I kept listening because what was I gng to do? Not find out who was trying to kill her? No! That's not how we do things around here. Unfortunately that's the ONLY reason.

OK, but for real. Sigh. I wish this story gripped me the way it promised to, but I just didn't care enough about the characters, the pacing or the narration for this to not feel like a chore.

On top of that I really didn't like the stylistic choices of the narrator. At all. Listening at 1.2x speed helps somewhat.

But looking at other reviews, my opinion of this book is held by readers of the ebook as well, so it's not all down to the narrator.

The idea is great, the execution less so. It's your choice.

She is more than they know......

Morgan is a half High Fae and High Priestess born, raised by witches who hate her and want her dead and believes her father, King of Fae, want nothing to do with her. When the Alpha Shifter is found dead in her apartment, the police believe she is the suspect. With the help of her friends and temporary Alpha, Grayson, she tries to solve the murder and clear her name. Finding the murder leads to an unsuspecting friend's betrayal.

A moving series of a young woman trying to survive the prejudices of her heritage and find a place to call home.

This was a book I was sad i had to walk away from to go to work. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. It is so well written and the character backstories just are amazing. I love how the two authors work so well together and can create such a smooth seamless world that most people don't notice that there is even two writers. The story is so good, I feel like I can't say that enough. The main female character has so much spunk especially after everything that she has been through. And the main male character is so well planned out with his growth in the book. I can't wait for book 2 to come out.

Maybe it was just me and the settling I was in when I read this, but I found some inconsistencies in the story. Like... as a Fae you shouldn't say Thank You or you owe a favor to the person you said it to but then the MC said thank you to Grayson... I know he's not Fae, but you'd think that she'd be in the habit of not say it at all. Also... (again, I may have missed something) but at the beginning she didn't want people to know who her father was but then everyone seemed to know?!? When did that change? I also felt that the cadence of the writing felt weird. Maybe it's just me. Dunno. I'll read the 2nd book as I like the plot, so I hope these things get better.

Oh so good.

Paranormal. UF. MFC Hybird (High Fae\Preistess Witch). MMC Shifters (Jaguar). Her family has been trying to kill Morgan since she was young. So waking up with the dead body of the local Alpha with the door being broken in by the police, has her thinking that it was the covens doing. So she'll just have to find out who the real killer is herself. This was an excellent read. I love how Morgan is genuine. Her love for people and life. Ooooo and the guys in this...🔥🔥🔥 Read it!

Another awesome winner from the duo of Miers and Knox. I absolutely love this book as well as the others I've read. Curse of Iron's story line is unique and the characters (Morgan & Grayson) are so well written you just love them. They are so well suited you want them to succeed. This is a real page turner that you won't want to put down. Is going to be a extra long wait for the next book to come out in November (wish it were closer). If you are looking for an excellent book, you need not look further -- this is it. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Ready for more

I enjoyed this first book in the series and will definitely be continuing with the series. I like the MC and her strength despite her circumstances. I love Grayson and hope to see more of and learn more about him, as well as see a romantic relationship blossom between him and Morgan. Fun, easy read - the only reason for four and not five stars is I feel certain things could have been fleshed out more, some details added where some things seem to be skimmed over. Still really enjoyed and look forward to more

What an addictive read! I couldn't put this book down! Smashed it out in one day and hanging for more!!!
Morgan is a fighter. Strong and resilient, but she doesn't know how to trust or lean on people. She's been pushed and threatened and abused her whole life for just existing.
The sexual tension is thick between her and Greyson, & you just know it's going to be explosive!
I felt every emotion in this book. From sorrow to laughter to heart break. So addictive & I definitely recommend!

Another great book by these authors. Morgan is part Fae and part witch, that grew up with her mom's side of the family trying to kill her and a father that (she believes) abandoned her. When she wakes up with the dead body of the Alpha in her bed, she has no time to react before her door gets broken down. Teaming up with an unlikely (and gorgeous) ally, she rushes to find out who the real killer is. I really liked Morgan and can't wait to see more of her and Grayson in the next book!
