Blue’s life is in shambles.

He has to fight off his MC brotherhood on a drug problem threatening his town, balance his time as a father while dealing with a vicious custody battle with his ex, and somehow manage the huge load of responsibilities of his job. All the while, he is fighting his attraction to the quiet shopkeeper who lives just across the street from him. The last thing he wants is to take her down with him.

Psalm’s life is uneventful.

Finally healed after the heartache of losing her husband, kind-souled Psalm throws herself into her store and rescuing dogs. Her crush on Blue can be traced back to high school so many years ago, and even after being widowed, she still carries a torch for him. From the sidelines, she aches for Blue and his children. With her caring nature, she reaches out to him, over and over again, even when he pushes her away. Is Psalm’s heart strong enough to take on this broken man and heal him?

ML Nystrom had stories in her head since she was a child. All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured her interest. A voracious reader, she’s spent many hours devouring books; therefore, she found it only fitting she should write a few herself!

ML has spent most of her life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn’t mean she’s pigeon-holed into one mold. She’s been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else she felt like exploring. As one of her students said to her once, "Life’s too short to ignore the opportunities." She has no intention of ever stopping... so welcome to her story world. She hopes you enjoy it!

Gives You The Feels

That’s exactly what you get when you mix a town deputy with a woman who makes her lively hood making soap for tourists and many others. Oh, but wait there is so much more to this story than what you get with all of this old town “pie & ice cream” story. Let’s say that Blue is a non-acting member of the local MC with his father being the acting Prez. Now just how does that work out being the town deputy who takes his job seriously? They both hand out justice but in their own ways.

Psalm is a young widow whose life changed on a dime with losing her husband but she picked herself up, moving back home and started her own business doing something she loves and making money at it. Blue and Psalm live across the street from one and other and Psalm always did have a crush on Blue but he was the bad boy and nothing ever came of it.

Now Blue is a father of two who loves his kids dearly but the mother has twisted things and taken custody of them both leaving Blue a broken man. He lives for his kids. Psalm also has love in her life in the form of rescue dogs that she takes in to get them ready for their forever homes.

This is a story full of heartbreak and leaves you grasping for hope that they can find their way together through everything in front of them. I have loved the other books in this series and can’t wait for the next one to come.

This is one of those “it’s not quit an MC book” since Blue is not actually in the MC, but he is the son of the President so close enough? Maybe. If you’ve read books 1 and 2, (and I highly recommend that you do) you know Blue and his ex-wife have a rocky relationship, we find out all the dirty little details in this book. We also learn some interesting facts about soap making. Not a ton of sex, but that’s ok. I absolutely love all the different points of view in this book, it really adds to the depth of the story. 4.5 stars and bring on Table.

I like the MC genre this is the third book in Dragon runners series, the hero Blue is the son of the president of the club but the connection is tenuous IMO to make this an MC book, as he’s the local deputy. I also wasn’t feeling the connection between the main characters. I know that Blue had a lot of issues but I didn’t feel that was a good enough excuse for how he treated Psalm. In the end it just felt like she was the convenient option for him. I’m resisting commenting about the characters names.

LOL you know you're in trouble when you realise you're enjoying scenes written from the dogs POV!!! In fairness they aren't spoken - just his thoughts!! Sam the Pit Bull was definitely the star of this book ...good thing really because I never totally liked Blue, he was a bit of a dick for most of the story.

Looking forward to Table's book :)

Excellent

Not the usual action packed super sexy biker read but a great story nonetheless. I would definitely recommend this book.

The hero pushed the heroine away too much and for too long. I wasn’t that interested in the drama with his ex and kids. This book read more like a family drama than an actual romance. And what an unromantic proposal at the end. The author writes well so 3 stars even though I didn’t care much for the story or the characters.

This was the sweetest romance with some family trauma for balance. This was MC light but big in the love and romance.
I am really enjoying this series. It has fabulous character development and a solid storyline.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..I loved Psalm, she was a sweet person and deserved someone who would love her equally. I didn't find that person to be Blue, well I am still on the fence on that. Blue was a divorced police officer whose paycheck went on alimoy and child support. He is also the son of the Dragon Runners President. Unfortunately Blue was married to a horrid woman whose focus was on drugs instead of her children. Blue let this woman walk all over him, and I liked when Psalm called him out on that. My only problem with Psalm was she forgave to easily she should have made him suffer a little. Now I understood his kids needed him first and he wanted to give them the stability that they never had but his reasons were ridiculous. Now I could have enjoyed this story more if we didn't have the part of the bear, yeah a little too much. But all in all I am ready for the next one!

Blue is the third book of the Dragon Runners series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but the history in the first two books makes for better understanding.

We’ve been getting bits and pieces about Blue as this series moves along. As the son of the MC president, he’s been floating around the edges of each book. He’s been hardened by love, and just wants to work and care for his kids. He meets Psalm and they instantly connect. Their story is a slow burning, intense romance. It’s “MC-adjacent” more than a traditional MC novel. It was paced well and kept me hooked.

I liked this book but keep in mind it is a very slow burn romance. There is a lot of angst, drama and poignant emotions in Blue an Psalm's romance. Psalm was very sweet, Blue could be a bit of a jerk, the kids were cute and the dogs delightful. A good read. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Really enjoyed Blue. He’s a hot cop, divorced with two - fantastic kid’s - who’s entire paycheck went out to pay alimony and child support, while his ex-wife complained she needed more. The dreadful ex-wife is an ex-junky and Blue has no proof she is using again but her actions are very suspicious and he’s fighting for custody of his kids, so anything is useful. The sooner they are back with him the better.
Psalm is a kind, sweet young woman who own’s a store, she makes scented soaps and balms, she also fosters dogs, some that have had a difficult past until they can be adopted. She’s also a widow. Her store and dogs are now her life, she’s content with her small world, but her only little treat is to peak at the window across the way in the morning to see an unsuspecting Deputy Blue, and next, her special coffee on her way to work and another glimpse of her hot treat, this time clothed unfortunately.
Blue was a an intense story with some tough storylines. Blue wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to mess his chances up. And Psalm was wonderfully understanding, I loved her character. Also the MC ladies and his mom were angels, when needed they were great. This was a memorable story and very heartwarming, I liked it a lot. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this series and Blue is another winner.

Review

Blue is the third book in the fabulous Dragon Runners MC series.

Blue is the town’s deputy and also the son of president of the MC, Dragon Runners. He has had a hard couple of years, mostly down to his despicable ex-wife who is still creating havoc for Blue. In between all the pulls in his life though he finds he is constantly noticing the sexy store keeper over the road, Psalm.

Psalm has recently moved back to town after the loss of her husband and set up her own business that keeps her focused on life. However she finds another focus on her old school crush Blue, but she can see he has much responsibility to cope with and tries to help him whenever she can. The two keep being caught up in the same dramas that begins the start of something they both want but keep holding back, especially Blue.

I love that this is on the edge of the MC but still plenty of MC involvement. The storyline is a wonderful flow of the romance that is an initial slow burn but then evolves into something so tangible and heart-warming. The two main characters were instantly likable and it was great to finally understand the mysterious Blue with his conflicting roles in life between the MC and his career which is strangely not much of a conflict after all. The role of the hateful ex-wife was an added drama to the plot and I was waiting for her comeuppance to finally come to fruition.

This has fast become one of my favourite MC series and although it is not the usual type of gritty MC it is one that is all about the people, their backstory and of course the love. Definitely one to one click. Five stars.

I didn't know if I would like Blue's story , but damned if it didn't touch my heart and I cried a few times.

Blue is struggling being a dad and a deputy,  plus his ex wife is a total bitch. She is not a good mom and the kids are hurting from it.
Psalm is awesome she is a crafty woman who makes soaps, lotions bath bombs and everyone loves her.
She has always had a crush on Blue and now these two have feelings for each other but Blue keeps pushing her away.
Their story is not all sunshine and roses and there is a big pitbull dog who will steal your heart .
I can not wait for the next story !!!

Obstacles to overcome

This book faces problems in every day life, ones I’ve seen the ones with bitterness between ex’s that they just have to fight over the kids. It’s written in a really sympathetic way and works so well. Although it’s and MC book that part sits quietly in the background just raising its head every so ofter making this a good book for anyone.

I don't know what this author's problem is - I feel like she hates the wonderful characters she writes. She especially hates sex! That's for damn sure.

Blue has been fighting his drug using baby mama for the past two books trying to get full custody of his two kids. He has one small bright spot - seeing his neighbor every morning for a nod at the coffee shot. Psalm runs her specialty soap shop in town and also rescues dogs. She hasn't been with anyone since her husband died, but she's had a crush on Blue since they were in high school. Blue has a lot on his plate and doesn't have time for a relationship, but that doesn't stop him from wishing. Poor Psalm has to deal with his hot/cold reactions to her, kissing her then pushing her away. She is a very understanding and compassionate person. This super slow burn doesn't see our couple uniting until the 68% mark, but right after that, Blue dumps her because of his kids and baby-mama-drama. At the 95% mark, they reunite.

Even though I agree that Blue has to put his kids first, I still don't think she should have taken him back so quickly. At least thankfully we didn't have to worry about him hooking up with anyone else, but damn. He broke my heart.

I can't give this more than a 2. I'm finally over the fact that there's no sex in these books and they're such a slow burn. It's a shame because I really like the characters.

OH - I think this is the first time EVER that I have read a dog's POV. LOL it was a sad one though but still.

I'm still going to read the next book for Table. I will NOT read the last book which is about Betsey and Brick because he flat out says that he's cheated on Betsey and she's forgiven him. Fuck that.

I absolutely LOVED Blue. I mean, who doesn't love a hot cop? Talk about swoon!

I feel that this book had a lot of the author in it. The writing felt like it was coming from personal experiences, at least when it comes to Psalm. It made reading it feel more real, which I really liked.

I absolutely HATED Blue's ex, though. And that bomb he dropped... I totally did NOT see that coming. It shocked the absolute hell out of me, which is hard to do.

The kids in this book are so sweet. She wrote them very well.

I love ML Nystrom and absolutely love her Dragon Runners series. We didn't get to see too much of them in this book, but we do get updates on Stud and Eva and Mute and Kat.

I did feel a little disconnect with Psalm and Blue in terms of their relationship. It took me a while to become convinced that they were meant to be. Other than that, this book was great! I loved it and the ending was a definite page turner!

Blue is a divorced cop and inactive member of The Dragon Runners.
Blue’s life isn’t easy and with his b*tch of an ex-wife all the drug problems going in his town and worrying about his 2 kids, he doesn’t have time for the beautiful neighbor and soap maker.
Psalm had a crush on Blue since she was a teenager in high school. Being his neighbor she gets glimpses of him through his window.
Loved it. I only wish they had more time together. It was kind of fast pace at the end.

Different Kind of Love Story

Life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Love isn't always this sweet moving tale. Here we watch a love romance unfold like real life. In real life, love can be a herculean task to find and achieve through the ebbs and flow of our everyday life. This wasn't a romance but a love story filled with flawed characters.

The good....

"Life has only one direction and that’s forward."

🫶🏿 Psalm was an interesting FMC. I enjoyed reading about her sunny feminine optimism. She was lavender, herbs, and earth. A businesswoman who experienced the harness of love but still got up

"Psalm, the woman he wanted so much but couldn’t have. Why not? I love her. He pushed out the thought almost the second he had it, but it still burrowed like a worm into his brain."

🤨 Blue is an intriguing contradiction of wishy-washyness. He was a real-life male love interest though. Once again, in real life, it's not always easy. Here Blue has a lot of life stressors, drugs are overtaking his town and killing teenagers, he's embroiled in a heated custody battle with his ex-wife, and his two kids are clearly hurting but as a man of the law he's following orders and financially he's in the dumps. Psalms may be his only bright spot but she can't be his focus

🫶🏿 the beautiful location. This was set in a small North Carolina town and the author nailed it. Haunting, ethereal beauty with southern charm. The people were right on the money and not blown-up caricatures

The bad...
🥲 Blue is a character interesting to read but if you want a decisive, jealous, possessive, over-the-top hero you aren't getting it here. Everything he does is with resignation and a sigh. His hands are always tied. He is always putting others ahead of Pslams and Pslams job is to just slip in and fill in.

🥲 Usually, in romance books, the MMC falls over backward to make it good with the FMC, here we have Pslams doing the heavy lifting. We are to deduce that she doesn't mind and wants the burden but yeesh if this bothers you don't read this book. Blue had good reasons to be passive but this love story was slow, laboring and less about watching them as a couple but realizing they could maybe make it

🥲 make no mistakes about it, this book is a slow burn. We see them interacting and doing cute moments for and with each other but they are not a couple in the majority of this book.

The ugly....
👎🏾 this story was written as dual perspective but in both 1st and 3rd pov. It was weird. Psalms was in 1st. We saw everything through her eyes. "I did this... I think this". Blue however is written in 3rd (Blue went to the door. He got the coffee. He...). It was jarring and I didn't even know why this choice was made.

👎🏾 if you grabbed this thinking it was an MC romance book, please put it back down. Blue works in the police department. His parents are in an MC. His father is president but all of the MC stuff is peripheral to the story. Psalms is not an Ole Lady. MC culture is not front and center. So it's a nice look inside the world of motorcycle clubs when the children of these people grow up and so things beyond the club.

👎🏾 we deserved more in the epilogue than what we got.

All in all the Taylor Swift song This Love could be the book's theme song.

Something a little different this time around, or at least I am hoping this will work. I am writing a general consensus on what I loved about the series. I'll then add a small snippet for each book, but I am writing this as one review and will paste. I wanted to make sure that author received credit as I thoroughly enjoyed each book. I was afraid that I'd not take the time to write my thoughts if I wrote them individually.

I binge read the first four books of the Dragon Runners series within a matter of a couple days. There are actually five books, but I felt that the fifth one was more of a prequel. I wasn't really interested as it was on a different timeline.

Overall, I liked the mix of characters. Situated in a small town, the MC belongs to a tight knit community. Granted, The Lair (the clubhouse) sits on the outskirts, but the MC takes care of the town, and in exchange, the town is good to them. It just reminded me of the communities where everyone knows everyone else and their business.

Each story has one main couple, but all of the characters float in and out. Each book is interconnected, but I think I enjoyed that even more. It doesn't feel like you've lost a couple, as they still have updates to their story. It's not that much, but you do get to see their progression. The men are protective, and yet, the women can hold their own. It's a cohesive family unit, and that theme is reiterated over and over again. I really think that's what I found the most entertaining. They laugh, they cry, and they fight, but at the end of the day, they're still family. The bonds only get tighter as each story is told.

Blue/Psalm - Oh Blue! There were some moments when I thought he was just the best man to be ever written. He would then do something stupid, and I would think "You just blew it.". At the end of the day though, you really can't fault him for wanting to make his own way in the world. In the middle of hell, he finds a little bit of heaven. He's just too scared to reach out and take what he wants.

Psalm had a crush on Blue in high school, but she thought it was just a passing phase. She moved on from those days and didn't look back. Now a widow, she's moved back to town to make a new life for herself. She's kind and warm-hearted to the point that she might be too much. Those type of people are hard to come by. There's no hidden motive. It's just who she is. Psalm just wants to help, and I think that's what scares Blue the most. He's so focused on forging his own path that he doesn't realize what's in front of him.

I have to disagree with Psalm Kopolove about her assessment of dogs and alarms. My dog hated to get up in the morning. I was her alarm clock but she always grumbled when it was time to get up so I would let her sleep until it was almost time for me to go to work. One thing that impressed me about Psalm was that she’s one of those heroes that fosters dogs. I like the idea but don’t see how you can do it and have a full-time job that requires so much of your time. Something else I liked was part of her morning routine. I would love to shadow her sometime.

Jason “Blue” Davis is a man who’s struggling. He tries to protect those that need it but you can see his frustration when it comes to those he cares about. One such frustration was a b*tchy woman that our author was very good at creating. You know how creative she is when I want two minutes alone with said character. But she also does a good job at pulling at my heartstrings. She creates two smaller characters that you want to wrap your arms around.

When you see the title of the series you think, “MC romance”. But this is so much more. Blue’s family heads an MC but his life is the opposite of what you would expect a son to have. And that’s one thing I loved about this book because I get the unexpected. It held my attention and had me looking forward to seeing what’s around the next corner. Plus there was a certain someone that I wanted to see get their just desserts.

I really came to care for Psalm as I got to know her better. She does so much for dogs and has a job that makes people happy. And knowing that she wants a certain someone, you keep your fingers crossed that her heart speaks loud enough for his to hear. I also liked that the author made me wait for it too. She took her time to develop her characters and their storyline first. And the ending couldn’t have been any better – one last tug of the heart.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

So well written the book practically reads itself.

I really look forward to this authors books. It’s so easy to get lost in her words. I start one of her stories, and time holds no meaning. This book is a little different from her others in the sense the dogs stole the book. Furry little scene stealers. They stole this book like it was a turkey sandwich. I am majorly impressed and in love. I have a pack of dogs I now wish I could visit and give belly rubs to. They were so real. I smiled, laughed, cried and sobbed my way through these tails(see what I did there, couldn’t resist.) part of me is like, what main characters? You mean the dogs? Are we discussing Sam? He’s a strong, silent, loyal, and muscular dog lol. Really. It’s like that. What people? Oh Blue and Psalm? They’re ok. I mean they’re not dogs, so they have their limits *shrugs* Don’t even get me started on ToTo, she stole my heart-what an amazing dog. Reading about ToTo transported me back in time to my canine best friend(RIP)
On a personal note, Blue needed to man up. Blue had his head up his toot hole and his family jewels in his ex-wife’s purse. Ugh. Very frustrating for me. A lot of drama from his ex. I wanted him a little more manly and in tune with his kids-there was a real disconnect. Honesty, he needs to ask him self what would daddy Brick do a little but more and follow through. Psalm is very sweet, sometimes too sweet. It makes her very very effective as a person who rehabilitates dogs, but as a romantic lead she was a doormat. It was painful. I was really rooting for her and she got stomped on at times with massive muddy biker boots. I had to tell myself it’s just a story, calm down animal- no she does NOT need to throw that coffee back at him-honestly I get too emotionally invested. I’m sure they will be very happy without my advice. At the end the author provided a chapter teaser for the next story, which I pre-ordered, a little Christmas gift to myself. I can’t wait for my seat at the Table(again, a pun I just couldn’t pass up such a dork.)

Blue grew up in the Dragon Runners' MC, but now days, he's been trying to take care of his own business. He is barely making ends meet because of divorcing his horrible wife, and paying child support for the kids that he loves more than anything. On top of that, he spends his days trying to track down who's responsible for the newest drug problem in his town. Between that, and all the drama his ex-wife causes while worrying about his kids, he has no time for relationships, no matter how bad he wants his neighbor, Psalm. Her life is uneventful, as her big heart takes in animals that need help, while growing her business, but she feels that strong connection to Blue, though she won't act on it. However, as she witnesses his ex-wife getting worse, her big heart cannot help but to reach out to him, even though he keeps pushing her away. And that's all that I'm going to give away about that. Psalm was a wonderful heroine, who had her own pack of dogs that she helped, not to mention she would give the shirt off of her back for anyone who needed it. She had such sizzling chemistry with Blue, which led to sexy times that lit the sheets on fire, even though he put her through a lot with all of his push & pull. There was a great deal of angst swirling everywhere, as I could seriously feel the anxiety & emotions roll off of them, especially Blue throughout this captivating story. Add in some crazy secondaries, even the four legged variety, and more is added to the story, even when they were bad. Which takes me to the twists, yeah there were quite a few that I didn't see coming, but loved dropping the f-bombs when they shocked me. This is another awesome story in the Dragon Runners series by the talented & addictive ML Nystrom, and I just can't get enough, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

(4.5 stars)

I really liked this one. Blue isn't technically an MC brother, but he is an "inactive" member as he is the President's son. He's also the town Deputy. Psalm runs the town's craft type store where she sells other artists work, as well as the soaps and bath beauty products that she makes herself. Her high school crush, and neighbour that she gets a perfect view of every morning, just happens to be Blue and after a few little interactions the pair begin to talk and a relationship of sorts starts to blossom.

This was quite sweet as it was as slow burn romance, but it kept you interested with their interactions and all the other things going on in their lives that it didn't matter that their relationship was taking its time. I loved all the dog stuff and the parts with Blue's children. I can't wait for the next one as I'm really enjoying this series and give Blue 4.5 stars.

We have "watched" Blue's relationship with his wife and the issues that they have had throughout books one and two. Now, Blue is divorced and dealing with custody issues with his crazy ex, while at the same time trying to do his job. He doesn't have the time to devote to even thinking about being with someone new, so for Blue, helping Psalm with her boxes and getting that to go coffee will just have to be enough. But the little shopkeeper is just the calming balm that Blue needs, but Blue not wanting to get burned again means he will put up his guard and keep Psalm at arm's length... but when he decides that she is what he needs will she still be there?

This was a lovely story from M.L. Nystrom. With drama, danger, some really sad moments that had me sobbing, this was a good read. I give this 4 stars.

I adored this story. From Psalm to Blue, the kids, the MC, to the dogs! I absolutely adored this story. Although there were times of trouble, heartache, intense fear, there was always love revolving around the the lead characters (and the kids).

Trouble came in the form of Blue's ex and mother to his children. She was a bitch from hell and everyone knew it. Blue is a good man. Son to the Dragon Runners MC's President and his wife, he is also the Deputy Sheriff in their town and is known and liked by everyone, especially Psalm. She has crushed on him since they were in high school. But she married someone else, as did he. When she lost her husband, she packed up and moved back home, buying a large house and opened a shop to sell her soaps, creams, lip balms, etc., as well as some of the crafts from local artists. She also fosters dogs until they can find their forever home, and the dogs are really sweet, especially Sam, an abused fighting pit bull, who she not only helped but grew very attached to..as did Blue's kids.

The two are beginning to come together as a couple when the unexpected happens, putting not only Blue's mother and one of the other women's lives at risk, but the children as well. The situation grows tense as Blue worries about his mother who is not unconscious in the hospital and his children are missing. He has to find his children.

I will not go any further than this because you will need to read this book to see what happens next. I promise you, you will not regret it. I highly recommend this well written, entertaining and heartwarming story. Come on..kids and dogs??? Get the book!

Oh how I loved this book. The author has written a wonderful storyline with so many attributes that I absolutely adore. It has romance, struggles, intrigue, humor, suspense and amazing characters (both human and furry).

Blue is the son of Betsey and Brick (the Prez of the Dragon Runners MC) and the town’s Deputy Sheriff. He is well respected and liked by almost everyone. But sadly he has heavy load of problems, both personal and work related. Someone is selling laced drugs that are killing kids in the area and his ex is making his life, as well as the lives of his parents, his kids and everyone around him, a living hell. Blue is struggling to keep everything together but knows he must in order one day get custody of his kids. His one bright spot is his neighbor Psalm. But he won’t cross that line because she deserves so much better than what he can give her.

Psalm is a widow that owes her own business and has had a secret crush on her new neighbor, Blue, since high school. She spends her time making soaps and other scented items, maintaining her store and fostering dogs in need. Her life is pretty routine and keeps her grounded. But when Blue’s two small children run into her store, scared and alone her worlds becomes anything but routine. Especially when she has to deal with Blue’s fuming ex, 2 scared kids and one very very protective dog.

Will Blue ever catch a break? This is a fantastic addition the the Dragon Runners MC series. I highly recommend both the book and the series (if you haven’t started it you really should). The author has given us another heartfelt story with “Blue” and it’s one book you don’t want to miss out on. 2 Thumbs Up!!!
