OLIVIA
I’d saved myself for true love.
I nearly had it before an accident irrevocably changed everything.

A marriage broker is my only hope of survival. They’ve given me the symbol Opal. I’m a product now, not a person. Signing a marriage contract with a millionaire doesn’t seem much different than prostitution.

Byron Laserata is intense, but I’m out of options. If I refuse his offer, I’ll be on the streets tomorrow. I’m not entirely happy with the terms, but the payout at the end of the contract is amazing. I can do this, right?

BYRON
Father insists I marry and produce two heirs before inheriting the family business.
Even though I’ve been running it for years, there’s no chance he’ll budge on this demand. Without a proper wife and kids, I’ll find myself outed in favor of my cousin.

Millionaire Partner, Inc. can help. They find appropriate, compliant wives without all that bothersome dating and love required. Who has time for romance after working sixteen-hour days?

Opal’s sweet and appears incredibly innocent. She’ll be perfect — easy to control and no chance she’ll demand things I can’t give. I’m the master of my life, and I’ll run hers as well. It’s the perfect solution.

All I have to do is keep myself from developing feelings for my new bride. I can’t afford it. The business demands my full attention.

Content Warning:
The Blissful Contracts Series is about overcoming past adversities and finding true love through those trials. Sensitive readers may be triggered by discussion of past traumas including mental or physical abuse, rape, or mental illness. Reader discretion is advised.

What she brought to the contract was how to love.

At the end of her financial rope, and with no where else to go, Olivia Cambridge has opted to be a contract bride to an as yet unknown wealthy man. If she had any other choice she would only marry for love. Sadly, an accident took everything from her, so now here she is being readied for possible marriage to someone who may or may not even be kind to her.

If his demanding multi-$ father hadn't changed the rules of inheriting the company that Byron Laserata poured his heart and soul into, he would not even be considering meeting a strange woman, much less marrying her. Whatever. He can certainly do the wed, bed and breed if that's what it will take to insure he becomes CEO of worldwide Tres Belle Resorts.

Mastered: Opal by Chantel Rondeau and Emma Rose was truly an engrossing stand-alone novel. The premise started off as tried, but then came a few twists. The development of both Olivia/Opal and Byron, from the first meeting until their happy ending, would have kept me reading. Even knowing there would be a happy ending, I found the process emotionally intriguing. I also like the way the authors developed the supporting characters and the pivotal parts that each played.

All in all I liked this read.

Content alert: Aside from a few vulgarities (including 3 properly placed “f” bombs), the sexual content was moderately described. There is an attempted assault that could be a trigger for some readers.

Interesting book, but I felt Opal could have had a little more backbone. Nothing ever gets solved when you never say anything and the long-suffering female is not my favorite.
Of course, her solution was to form a friendship with Chandler. And, speaking of Chandler, she most certainly led him on. The whole thing with him coming into the bath room while she was naked in the water was unconscionable. What woman is going to allow that without him being given his walking papers. Her gentle acquisition to his intrusion only led him on further. And the other times when he came on to her and she gently told him no. There should have been no gentle about it. Then when her husband all but hands him an invitation to interact with his wife, that was the straw that snapped Chandler's obsession. And, when he acted on it and was rejected and lost it, he winds up being beaten, arrested and eventually incarcerated. What he did was most certainly wrong, but, I felt sorry for him, as he most certainly was overwhelmingly provoked into it.
All in all, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I think I will pass on reading anything further in this series.

I really enjoyed Olivia and Byron's story. There were so many things going against Olivia that were out of her control, but she persevered. Byron and his parents were a piece of work. I liked Opal's character and stance on both marriage and sex. Her character is rare. I'm glad I came across this read. I enjoyed the writing and pacing. This was my first read from this author but it will not be the last. I have the boxset and look forward to the next book.

The author put a trigger warning on this series, so make sure you heed the warning before reading.

Magical

You have some very magical stories and this book was great. With Byron and Olivia you took me on another of your magic carpet rides,to see how they truly fell in love with each other was breathtaking.I couldn't have asked for a better ride than you gave this couple. They deserved happiness and you gave it to them. But what I really enjoyed was the two years after, glad to know how they were doing made it that much better.Keep up the great work.

Innocent love versus happily ever after

I love how the characters grew in this story. Starting with a marraige of convenience and moving through emotional changes these people really had to learn who they were and what they valued. It was quite a journey and the ending was satisfying. Loved getting to know them!

I loved this book! It was a darker romance than what I am used to by this author. Olivia and Byron's chemistry was sizzling, sexy and hot. Byron was so closed off, Olivia brought him back to life. It was a fast read and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book. I received a beta copy in exchange for my voluntary review.
