She never planned to confront her parents, but she is desperate to know what really happened . . . Eleven years ago, Halla Jenkins climbed out a window at her parents' house, fell to the ground in a mangled heap, and fled. Eventually, she found Lily's House and a real family. Now as a successful online reporter and a blogger with a quarter million followers, she doesn't think much about her roots. But the man she's fallen for online and dreams of making a future with has questions, and how can she tell him the answers when she doesn't know them herself? She never planned to confront her parents, but she is desperate to know what really happened. The chance of meeting Oliver in person for first time makes it all worth the risk. Elsie Reynolds has had the same best guy friend for ten years. Sure there were a few times when he forgot they were only friends, but setting him up with one of her foster sisters always fixed that problem. For the most part, being friends was all either of them ever needed. But now Payden is moving on, and Elsie isn't quite sure how she feels about losing him. Especially if it's to the sweet-looking new teacher at the school where he works. Maybe kissing him is just what she needs to get them back into the friend zone. Kendall Brenwood was already an adult when she found Lily's House, but it changed the direction of her life, and she is finally living her dream, helping others as a nurse. Only sometimes does she grieve what she lost, even though she knows she made the right choice. When a new resident at the hospital catches her eye, she isn't sure she's ready to find love. Why won't he take no for an answer? Would he still want her if he knew her secret? She's about to find out. Join these three roommates from Lily's House as they take the road less traveled and find . . . love. All the stories in the Lily's House series are complete stories without cliffhangers. Reading all of them will catch you up with characters in previous novels, but you do not have to read them in order. Enjoy!

Teyla Rachel Branton grew up avidly reading science fiction and fantasy and watching Star Trek reruns with her large family. They lived on a little farm where she loved to visit the solitary cow and collect (and juggle) the eggs, usually making it back to the house with most of them intact. On that same farm she once owned thirty-three gerbils and eighteen cats, not a good mix, as it turns out. Teyla always had her nose in a book and daydreamed about someday creating her own worlds. She is now married, mostly grown up, and has seven kids, so life at her house can be very interesting (and loud), but writing keeps her sane. She thrives on the energy and daily amusement offered by her children, the semi-ordered chaos giving her a constant source of writing material. Grabbing any snatch of free time from her hectic life, Teyla writes novels full of mystery, romance, and imagination. She warns her children that if they don’t behave, they just might find themselves in her next book! She’s been known to wear pajamas all day when working on a deadline, and is often distracted enough to burn dinner. (Okay, pretty much 90% of the time.) A sign on her office door reads: DANGER. WRITER AT WORK. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. She loves writing fiction and traveling, and she hopes to write and travel a lot more. She also loves shooting guns, martial arts, and belly dancing. She has worked in the publishing business for over twenty years.

I really have enjoyed the Lily's House series, a series based around a Foster mom and her foster daughters, this series goes a long way in proving that real family is not always the one you were born into but the one you make as friends become the family you need, love and support can be found, tough situations during upbringing can make tough, caring adults and love when it comes can bring with it a glimmer of light into a dark corner of your heart chasing away the shadows of the past and bringing hope for the future.

This book came when I needed it. It describes an open adoption. I didn't know that an adoption could be so open. A character in the book gets regular visits with her daughter, and she's friends with her daughter's adoptive mother.
It also has good advice about how to talk to people who are difficult to speak with. My favorite quote was, "What was it Halla had talked about in her 'Let Go' blog? Right, no accusations. Go back to the issue at hand."

As I continue reading about the girls from Lily's house I am greatly impressed with Ms. Branton's writing & telling their stories. This is another really great read with a little surprise I never would have anticipated about Halla. I'm glad Elsie finally finds her HEA with Payton. A really great read. Now to finish it out with I believe is the last book.

Really Great Series

I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the characters. These books are so good. The characters are written so well you feel like you know them. I loved Halla and Oliver's story which also included 2 other romances in it. A really great read.

Halla Uncovers Her Past

Halla meets her true love, Oliver, who encourages her to return to Idaho to find closure with her past. This frees her to marry Oliver and begin their HEA together. Elise and Kendall also find their HEAs. A real feel good read.

I really liked this one with all three of Lily's girls' stories intertwined instead of in separate stories. I love the closure for each of them. Clean romance.
abuse and neglect mentioned as with all of Lily's house stories.
