USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLER - Scott Blade is a Nomadvelist, a drifter and author. He writes the bestselling Jack Widow book series, two of which reached the Top 100 list on Amazon, knocking Harry Potter & Jack Reacher off the top spots, which angered one of the big publishers. Scott wears that fact as a badge of honor.

Scott Blade isn't a traditional novelist who spends his time stuck behind a computer desk in some dreary office. He truly walks the walk. He drifts around like the nomad he writes about, touring the world, writing mysteries and searching for the perfect coffee.

Template writing is easy if you know how and this follows a number of his books. At least you know what is coming. There is so much padding that I skim read most of the book as it was talking of possibilities rather than eventualities. Was ok but not the best.

Once again Sott Blade has written a good one, Istill think it's a shame that he wasn't aloud to continue with the original series since I'm a fan of Reacher. It was so much more fun to read about Reachers son. But the conversion to this ex SEAL/NCIS agent is really good. So for everyone who likes a drifting hero getting into problems all over the country this is for you.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by," (Robert Frost) gets widow in a heap of trouble, when that road is in South Dakota. Walking down the road, in a snow storm, hoping to get to the interstate, Widow comes across a dog that is frantically digging. What he is digging for, turns out to be a tightly rolled up carpet, that contains a mostly dead woman. Carrying the woman to the nearest town and totally exhausted, he quickly finds himself in jail and a prime suspect. The woman had recently had surgery and one of her kidneys is missing. This brings in the FBI, who are working of cracking an organ trafficking operation. Good thing the FBI showed up because the local yokels were never going to buy his story. Somebody screwed up by not killing the girl in the first place and it won't be any stretch to determine who the bad guys are. Very good read.

Grabs you at chapter one

Young woman goes on dark web to make big money by selling her kidney. Operation is successful but things spiral downward from there. Widow finds her and tries to save her life. It's a long journey, but it is action-packed. Great read all the way through to a soaring finish. I highly recommend this book.

This is the 11th book in the series.

This time our hero gets out of a car to get drinks for the people driving and they drive off leaving him at the gas station. He had a feeling this would happen so no big deal for him.

He goes out, finishes his coffee, and walks off at the road going into the direction he’s going in. No cars go by, but it is getting darker and colder to the point it starts to snow. Eventually he sees taillights but they drive off without him. He wanders over to where the tire tracks are to see what they were doing. He hears something and eventually finds a young woman completely nude. He takes off some clothing to put on her and picks her up and carries her to safety and then passes out due to cold.

He comes to in a cell. After some back and forth with one of the deputies a witness comes forward…when no one else was around. She IDs him but notices the way the two are familiar with the other. Soon the FBI are in on it too. They all go out to look at what our hero told them and it’s all confirmed except the stuff where he found her. It’s all gone….except for his footprints.

As they go along trying to figure things out, they find a bad guy within, uncover organs being paid for and resold, and have some shocks.

The ending you knew was coming but the way it happens is a bit of a shock. However who will live and who will die? Will the organ scheme be uncovered and taken down…

Black Daylight is the eleventh book in Scott Blade’s Jack Widow series and it was—much like the previous book—a very quick and entertaining read.

Jack Widow is alone and cold, walking down a dark, deserted, snowy country road in nowhere South Dakota in the middle of the night. He faintly hears in the distance the engine of an idling vehicle, but his attempts to catch up to the vehicle in the low visibility, leaves him watching the taillights fade away as it drives off.

Once he gets to where the vehicle had stopped, he discovers why it had only stopped briefly, and quickly took off. The grizzly scene is something to behold and—Widow being who he is and what he stand for—he instinctively jumps in to help.

Thinking he has done all he could and can now continue on his way, Widow is shocked—but not surprised—that he is now the local law enforcement’s lone suspect for the crime. Even the FBI agent that is called in to investigate believes Jack Widow is undoubtedly the only possible suspect. The Widow luck strikes again.

So now, Jack has to not only persuade the FBI and the Sheriff that they have the wrong person in custody, but hopefully figure out who actually did this heinous crime. Little do they all know, that this crime is just one part in a much larger web of absolute evil.

I'm beginning to think that Widow has the same destiny as Reacher. Blade could have just put a twist on every Reacher novel known to man, but instead he has chosen to develop Widow in a different light. He has more training than Reacher, While he seems to be softer in the sense regarding the women he meets, you can see that the path forward seems to drive him. I found Black Daylight to be totally engrossing and difficult to put down. It's a good thing I'm on vacation.

Back at his best

One of the best. He had the greatest plots. Even some Reacher stories got stale. I had one just okay book on the 11 books I've been binge reading. He's right up there with Child and
Blade has a great command of writing, dialogs, characters and intrigue. Book one was a cliffhanger, I heard, somehow I missed that one, but book 2 could have been a standalone. All the others have been standalone as well. On top book 12 for me!

I enjoy the Jack Widow books - have read them all up to #11 - and while they're not predictable, you always know Jack is going to win and the rotten characters are going down.

I like Jack, but that's probably because I'm inside his head - not sure I'd like him so much if I was just sitting across the table from him.

But this is an entertaining series and an original concept for a character all the way around. Well developed.

Amazing how Scott Blades keep elevating Jack Widow to the next level and keep us on the edge until the end of the books! This last one was quite a plot so well written that bring you chills and keep having us turn pages! Just finished this last one and wish the next one is ready but we will have to wait a little! Thanks to the author for sharing his great talent!!

Very interesting story, there were some editing glitches but overall it was very entertaining. After his last poor book this one is back to par. One thing you can give Blade kudos for is being able to pickup any Jack Widow book and not miss a beat. Doesn’t matter what sequence you read them in you will be fine. 5

Good storyline.

Enjoyed this storyline as it had Widow drifting as normal becoming involved in issues not of his making. A story that showed how people desperate to escape a one horse town would form dangerous liaisons for money to enable escape risking betrayal by drug using relations and friends.

Widow always helps the wounded.

Great story. Really great characters and how they keep you in the dark for a while. Dealing with the local police is not going well for Widow. Once the FBI gets involved Alaska and Widow kind of form a bond which cause the locals to panic. Some body is buying organs and all he'll brakes loose.

Widow is one guy you don't mess with. But is one guy you would want on your side when times are scary.

Scott Blade is getting better with each of his books. Keeps you guessing with each page. Cannot wait for the next book.

Action packed

In this story Jack is pushed to his physical limits which are considerable because of his training and life style. He winds up involved with the FBI after the local law enforcement detains him. Fast paced and a good read

Enjoyable read

The reader sees the world that Jack Widow sees - therefore there are aspects of the plot you never get to see but that is fine because that is all that Widow sees. He engages with what is right there because it is right to do so and then moved on.

Another Great Read

This is the 11th book I have read in the Jack Widow series. I have really enjoyed all of them. They are very difficult to put down once you start to read them. There are lots of bad people around so plenty of work for Jack Widow and his ‘No Prisoners Policy’.

Thrilling

Uphill climb, then quickly shifts to crazy nonstop action. Widow always happens upon someone who needs help, and does what he's best at- fixing it. Frightening, exciting and always fun to read! Love these books!

A "five star" but a "four" due to sloppy editing!

Once again, a compelling story...but laden with typos and non-existent words. What a shame! I look forward to adventure Number 12 with the hope that quality control resumes!

Worth Reading

Well-written thriller, very well edited, intriguing plot, a central figure you can imagine. This novel has made me want to read more of Blade’s work. I read so many of these novels that are terrible, I know a good one when I find it. I recommend this one.

just in time-Widow

A black market organ sale and a double cross leaves a woman for dead in the snow…but Widow finds her. Thus starts the beginning of the end for an a black market organ business. Yep, bad guys should never want to be in Widow’s sights!

I'm addict to Jack Widow

These books are hard to put down once you start them. I started on some others but they don't compare. Talk about unusual situations, this character gets into them. Suspense, drama, these stories have it

4.5*; Unbelievably fast read; Jack Widow at his best; sometimes does better than Jack Reacher; what impressed me most is that Scott Blade never wavers from the main plot.
