An ending of the series for now. (Yes, it has since returned in Postal:Deliverance. I like how Hill capped the series off and then came back with two one-shots that answered most of the lingering questions. This was a great series and unlike a lot of series, was given a suitable ending.

The end of Postal (for now) and of course it ends as fucked up as it started.

The final chapter of the main series starts this collection off and by the end you might question what Mark is doing. The final two issues are basically to wrap up both Laura and Mark. Mark's chapter comes first and is a fitting end to the major story arc that has consumed him in the series. Laura's ending is more of a "what happens after it all" but somehow works even better.

There's a lot of fucked up shit in this town and the series never shy's away from that. Yet, the ending as depressing as it might be, also gives some hope. A glimmer despite all the horrible shit that has happened. Only negative is how short this volume is and feels semi-rushed. Overall though, a solid ending to a mostly great series. A 3.5 out of 5.

The one-shots are disturbing to say the least, but this is what always made the comic great. I'm sad to see this series end, but it was worth it. The author claimed he would like to return to the series later on, but for now all threads are closed. Life moves forward in Eden, for better or for worse.

Laura reveals to Mark that she and Isaac killed their newborn baby in an attempt to appease old gods that would protect Eden. She has regretted it ever since and has nightmares every night that make her want to leave Eden for good. Maggie has gotten pregnant with Mark. She wants to keep the baby, but Mark wants his legacy to end. He asks his mother to kill Maggie.

A satisfactory conclusion to the arc, but lacked the looking dread and coherent, continuous threads that pulled me along to the end...

And with that, it's done. The 7 volumes of Postal are completed. Man, this is just one of those moments where I need a moment to take everything in and process.

First of all, I'm just gonna take a selfish moment here, because I honestly don't remember the last time I finished a series. It's pathetic, I know, but I have an absolutely embarrassing and nasty habit of starting a series - be them graphic novels or otherwise - and absolutely adoring the first one or two volumes... only to get distracted and never ever finish them. Because, y'know, by the time I roll around to finish the series I've forgotten what I've already read so I'd have to go back and re-read everything... It's a cycle. And not a good one. BUT. I just broke it. Thank you Postal and your addictive and gripping nature.

I will say that this is the only volume I didn't read in one sitting, but that was only because I forced myself to wait until the morning to finish it. My eyes were practically falling out of my head around half-way through and I really wanted to appreciate the finale, and honestly I'm glad I did.

One thing before I get too deep into this, I'm pretty sure there was a different artist for the Postal: Mark issue and I wasn't a huge fan. I've always tossed as much praise as I physically could at the artists from Day 1, but I didn't not like the change. Was overjoyed to see the normal art back for Postal: Laura though, thank goodness.

Alright, honesty question time:

Was this my favourite of the series? No. That honour lies unquestionably with Volume 4, goddamn. Still haven't been able to get that plotline out of my head. But, it was still very good.

Was I annoyed with the amount of religious references in this volume? Honestly, yeah, a little bit. Religion has always been in an out throughout this series, but it really ramped up in the last few issues. It wasn't a make or break thing, it just got a little repetitive. Also, I think a bit of me was hoping for a bit more action and real accusations and hard-hitting questions about actual things that happened rather than relying so much on theology and religious metaphors.

Did I understand why they had a child/baby sub-plot in there? Yeah, realistically it makes sense. But, do I like child/baby subplots in any instance or fictional universe? Hell no. I guess it was done alright? But I'm just never a fan of that stuff. I prefer my protagonists free from kids and somehow infertile so I never have to worry about a pregnancy scare. Whatever. It's just not my cuppa.

Am I pissed that ? Damn right I am. Bitch deserved to burn in every way possible. I know that would've hurt Mark, but I'm beyond trying to show sympathy for that trash human. The fact that she virtually got off scot free makes me want to spit nails, but Postal's never played fair, have they? I don't think it's completely unrealistic, either. It fits with her conniving and selfish personality along with her ability to escape pretty much any sort of punishment for anything she does. I still hope the nightmares haunt her for the rest of her life though. One thing I do want to know is how exactly .

Do I still love Maggie with all my heart and soul and want her to marry me? You better believe it.

Am I confused about A bit. I don't know if I missed it or if we're to assume they actually did abort? But at one point she was showing and they were preparing, so was it a stillbirth? I dunno. But again, baby sub-plots annoy me, so let's move on.

Am I beside myself with how much I love what they did with Rowan? Oh, fuck yes. So, so happy, jeez.

Anyone I didn't get closure on and wanted to? Uh, yeah, my one-armed, bad-ass, understanding, level-headed boxing superhero!!! My dude was a big part of volumes 2 and 4, so why does he disappear here?

Do I like how Mark governs? Damn right I do.

And, of course, the big question with any final volume: Am I satisfied with this ending? Y'know what? Yeah, I think so. I'm still in the midst of processing, but even though it wasn't perfect, I'm still satisfied. Honestly I want more. We did get the wrap-up feeling, but there's still loose ends (uh, the FBI?!) and I could easily gobble down at least 5 more volumes if ever they appear.

Overall, an excellent ride that proved nearly impossible to put down. My thanks to Bryan Hill and everyone who went into making this series what it was; you guys rock. I'll always be here if you want to pick it back up again.

Just a cleaning-up-loose-ends volume. It does so reasonably well, bringing some level of closure to most of the surviving characters. And one revealed secret managed to legit shock me, so kudos to the author for showing me I can still be surprised from time to time.

A sound ending to an above average series.

This might be Postal 's thesis statement:
"Paradise is built on punishment. That's why God needed Hell. Without it, there's nothing to compare to heaven."

3/5 for the last volume
3.5/5 for the overall story
A nice conclusion to an overall good story. Sometimes Postal really astounded me with how gripping the plot and characters were though in some issues I felt that some of the actions the characters did didn't make sense or that the plot became stagnant for a few issues.
Also can we talk about the one-offs in this volume? I enjoy the artwork throughout Postal, very clean and simple but still pleasant to look at (except the covers which have breathtaking work). However, the one-offs artwork done by Raffaele Ienco were awful at best. Even just having to bear through two issues of looking at that monstrosity was painful enough.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I had to pace myself reading when buying new volumes so I didn't blow through them all in one sitting! Overall, would definitely recommend, especially to those who enjoy a darker graphic novel dealing with relationships, morals, and religious themes.

Ends Well

It has been fun to dip in and out of this series over the past 24 issues. With this Volume 7, though, we collect Issue 25 and the Mark and Laura one-shots, and suddenly we're done, (at least for now). The series ends well, with all of the main characters where they should be and with Eden on the cusp of a new, unknown future. It seems to me you can't ask for a better ending than that.

hace tiempo no leia comics.

( NO HE LEIDO EL COMIC)

Concluding this series with three tales - short and “sweet”

This volume presumably brings this comic series to an end with three stories involving Mark, Laura and Maggie. There’s violence, revelations and love to whet our appetite and to bring everything to a close.
This has been a unique and interesting series which I’ve enjoyed and would recommend to all lovers of comics.

A wonderful conclusion to the series. Postal is one of those tales that continued to surprise me. Some characters whom I thought were going to endure died or were killed, but it happened in a way that made sense in the greater scope of the tale. The writers suggest they might revisit Postal in the future, and I hope they do.

Update: I'm starting to read Eden's Fall.
