Analysis Instrumentation: An Introduction

Rate this book
This book aims at discussing the fundamental aspects of analysis instrumentation keeping in view the requirement of a student or that of a beginner in this field. Instead of discussing a large number of techniques of analysis and related instrumentation the idea is to train the reader in arriving at the design of an analysis instrument (given the essential principle of measurement) by taking examples of some common analytical techniques. With this aim the book has been divided into ten chapters. Starting with the generalized configuration (Chapter 1) various off-line analysis instruments that are commonly employed in analytical laboratories or in process analysis are discussed in chapters 2 through 9. The instruments dealt with are arc/ spark emission speeirometers (chapter 2) UVNIS/IR spectrophotometers (Chapter 3) - flame emission spectrometers and atomic absorption spectrophotometers (chapter 4) fluorescence spectrometers (Chapter 5) X-ray analysers (Chapter 6) NMR spectrometers (Ch
