The 8th installment in the hit 'Living Among Bigfoot' series. At the conclusion of Lyle's story, Tom is left wondering whether his assumptions about the mysterious species are accurate. Although the proximity to nature was what originally drew Tom and his friends to life in the mountains, a return to the isolated property leaves them questioning whether the natural world may be conspiring against them. Living Among Bigfoot is a true story based on Tom's multiple encounters with the Bigfoot species.
Volumes 6-10 of the "Living Among Bigfoot" series continue the supposedly true story of Tom Lyons who had the unfortunate bad luck to get off on the wrong foot with an intelligent but apparently furious member of this hominid species. Tom sorts through who he can and cannot trust, deals with a bit of the paranormal and, of course, crosses paths with an all-powerful and secretive government agency who wants him to go away.
In summary, the books read like a well written and well edited, the Audible versions at least, conglomeration of all the scariest Bigfoot stories you come across in movies, fake documentaries and on YouTube. Though a fascinating read, all that's just a little too perfect for a true story.
I take Sasquatch very seriously and when someone presents a fake story as true, well, that's called a hoax. And, hoaxes do great damage to the community of committed researchers who are trying to document the existence of these creatures so they can be protected from vile humanity, vile governments and vile drug companies who would experiment on them with no regard for their intelligence.
These specific volumes drift too far into the conspiratorial to seem true. Also, the scary government men are just a little too scary and a little too powerful to be realistic. Further, the way things get wrapped up so neatly towards the end of these volumes doesn't ring true. If the author simply had not presented this as a true story then I wouldn't have any problem with it.
Lastly, I also found it insulting in Volume 10 when Tom was surprised a Southerner would be working for a government agency in California. As a Southerner who worked for the government in almost every state for three decades I can assure you we are fully aware of where California is, know how to drive there and, believe it or not, can even buy plane tickets without special help. He had no problem with an Australian character in his story, yet a Southerner from his own country gives him pause?? Jesus, that kind of ignorant, offensive shit gets old.
This installment ties up a few loose ends and lingering questions....but it also raises even more. The Bigfoot intent on killing Tom seems to be almost like a serial killer, as he is intent on harming those that threaten his existence and it seems he has had a hand in multiple deaths. Yet others have had surprising encounters that are positive...and often observe the bigfoot and his clan. It raises questions about whether or not the wood apes sense or know a person's true intentions towards them. And whether they have a vengeful, murderous side to them - just like we humans have!. This installment features a bloody almost deadly attack from a surprising source that is connected to the wood apes. I read it all in one afternoon, couldn't put it down!!!. You will enjoy this installment.....I can't wait for the next one, Tom Lyons is an excellent writer and his use of descriptive language is superb. I said it before - this series would make a great movie!!!.
Here is the latest chapter hot off the press of this exciting series. Our hero finds some much needed comfort and learns what happened to old Reggie, in addition to learning more about his new friends. Their story influences the wise decision to move. Window Watchers and a shocking event keep the action going. You won't want to miss what happens next. As the author states, be sure to read these in order, it will be difficult to comprehend what is happening without knowing what came before.
This Bigfoot series is really a fascinating and gripping read. Mainly because the writing is far superior than 99.9% of all the other real life Bigfoot encounters I’ve read so far. And second, that these bizarre events happened almost overnight and then nonstop to a regular person is so terrifying that it feels unbelievable.
I’d give these a five star but am deducting points for chopping it into multiple short installments.
Once again I am sucked into the world of Tom Lyons!! This series is a combination of excitement, suspense and friendship. I am SO emotionally involved I seriously don’t want it to end!! FIVE STARS FOR SURE!!
Expands and expands some more. The ordeal of our protagonist grows. Very well written in simplicity. I'm moving on to the next installment quicker and quicker as I go.
Omgosh. I'm not happy about Abi's attack! And Cal... Tom Lyons has taken this series into a new OMG level! #OldReggie #HandFeeding Thanks Tom Pick this series. Read this series. #StillFormattingIssues
Good story. Due to not knowing if this story actually happened and the format which would not load into a black & white Kindle reader it was one star short of 5.
