Heaven Wants Me Dead.
Hell Wants Me As Their Weapon.
And I’m in Bed With A Devil.

I was just your average seventeen-year-old girl, until I was Marked. Some may sell their souls; mine was taken. Not only are angelic hunters out to kill me, but Hell’s deadliest Mage—the devilishly charming Crown Prince of Lust—is just as desperate to get his hands on me…again. No, he doesn’t want me dead. This seductive trickster only has one thing on his mind: making me his new blushing bride.

He can call me his “mate” all he wants. I’m not about ready to sign my soul away into eternal damnation, no matter how gorgeous he may be. But after two months on the run, I realize I can’t escape the ugly truth. If I wish to fight another day, I just may have to make a deal with the worst kind of devil. The kind that loves me.

I thought I knew what rock bottom was, but this is only the beginning. As the great poet once said, “Hell is empty and all the devils are here.”

Hang on for a tale of tug-o-war with one girl’s heart, mind and soul as she fights with all she has to avoid becoming the bride of the Crown Prince of Lust, the dark mage, Blaine. It all started when Kat was “marked” by Blaine and it became open season on her life. Now, with the help of light mage, Reese, (who seems to have her romantic favor) and the professor, Kat attempts every spell they can find to remove the mark that acts as a homing beacon for Blaine. When he moves next door to her aunt’s home, clearly she knows nothing has worked. Can you say frustrating beyond belief?

That open season on Kat? Seems she has become a target for death from both heavenly hunters and the denizens of hell and just maybe, Blaine may be her biggest ally and most staunch defender….WHAT???? WHY???? Could there be more to this hot-as-blazes bad boy prince than meets the eye? Is he really in love with Kat? What about Reese? Who can Kat trust with her life?

Victoria Evers’ COVETOUS is non-stop entertainment from start to finish! High infusions of attitude, great dialogue and a plot that kaleidoscopes through twists and turns will have readers switching alliances, because just maybe, the devil you think you know has so much more to him and maybe your savior isn’t playing with all cards on deck. Who can a girl trust, I ask you, because being a normal teen isn't hard enough!

Emotionally chaotic, filled with surprises, this series is addictive, because not knowing what happens next is just not possible! Victoria Evers managed to pull me out of my reality and into hers seamlessly, and I have to admit, I was NOT ready to leave. I almost shook my Kindle to see if another page would show up…nope, no such luck.

I received this copy from Victoria Evers in exchange for my honest review.

Okay, I was not ready for that…
description
After reading the first book, I thought I knew what I was in for.

Nope.

Not. At. All.

No sophomore slump here. Covetous is an electrifying urban fantasy with incredible characters that will stay with you long after you finish. The story begins a couple months after the events of the first book, where Kat Montgomery has settled in a new town and is now living with her aunt (because her parents are douches and left her! Yeah, they shouldn't be expecting Parent Of The Year Awards anytime soon). Anywho, Kat seems happy for the most part. She's got a couple new funny friends (I totally want to see more of them!), an amazing aunt, and a nice calm life. Only problem, she's still a mage, she's still covered in runes, and is still being hunted by every reaper probably on planet earth. Oh yeah-and the crown prince of lust is still trying to track her down because he claims to be her 'mate'. Ok, so maybe things are bit complicated, but Kat's still surprising resilient.

But then everything goes to hell when an unexpected visitor drops by her aunt's house. And what a ride into Hell it was. As soon as I read the last page, I immediately went back and reread my favorite parts all over again and even started rereading the first book, because you really need to to appreciate the complexity here. Looking back now I find a whole new appreciation for the story. This whole back story was planned from page one of Book 1, and that was really cool. COVETOUS still has lots of action, some humor, and great world building, but there's even more sexy time, not to mention a number of tearjerking moments here verses INSIDIOUS. Well done, miss Evers. Well done.

I generally know what “TEAM” I’m rooting for going in, but with this one, I was still on the fence. Both “love interests” offer a very different dynamic.

Kat & Reese = sooooo adorable!

description

Seriously, they’re so cute together. Reese is like the adorable yet sexy boy next door that you can’t help but love. He’s always there for Kat, no matter what, and he’s so determined to save her. How could I, uh, I mean KAT not fall for him?

But then there’s also…..HIM.

description

Yeah, THAT guy. You know who Im talking about. On the surface, I know I should HATE him. I mean, he’s done some really horrible things, but gosh darn it, the man is still so endearing. And the chemistry between him and Kat is just----

description

YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH.

Come on! How could you expect us to choose???

With these two gentlemen in the running for Kat’s heart, I had no idea who I wanted to root for. Reese is the obvious choice, because he’s so frickin loveable <3 <3 <3, but I didn’t want to write the crown prince off just yet. That said, the character development here pretty much made my choice clear. By Chap. 20, I knew.

Come on, didn’t that just hit you in the feels?

description

As soon as that happened, I was like, “YEP! Not a doubt in my mind.”

description

The rollercoaster of emotions here definitely blows book one out of the water. I’m not saying Insidious was underdeveloped, but the characters this time around were crazy amazing!

And that ending!!!!!!!!!!

description

I don’t ever really cry when reading but this definitely had me getting choked up. It was soooo sweet and completely devastating! I still can’t get over it. I need BOOK 3. NOW.

I absolutely adore this series so far! I couldn't stop turning the pages as new plot twists made it all the more interesting and unpredictable. I hope a third book will be coming out soon! This book is easily one of my new favorites and one I will definitely be recommending to others.

Better than the first one

Typically the first book in a series is one of the best, however this is not the case here. Pacing is great and the interactions between the characters aid this. Interesting story that keeps you drawn in the whole Time. The twists, while not all together super unpredictable, are well played. Definitely recommend.

What a cliffhanger, and the next book isn’t out yet! Ugh! I’m liking the series pretty good. I waffled between 3 or 4 stars though. Mainly because the style of writing sometimes is a little confusing. The characters are referred to in different ways For example Mr. Reynolds, Nathan, Papa Bear, Adam’s Father are all used to refer to one character, and he’s not even a main character. It gets hard to keep them all straight in my head. Also, sometimes it feels like things are mentioned, or events occur but aren’t concluded so I’m left wondering what exactly just happened, or how exactly something that happened relates to the main story. It’s just confusing at times. However, it is quite the page turner because the story is very captivating. I didn’t want to put it down most of the time. About halfway through the second book I was feeling a little frustrated because it felt like Blaine and Kat kept going around and around without really making any progress, but I still wanted to finish the book, and I’m glad I did. It was definitely worth putting up with some of the more frustrating aspects.
It does get a bit gory on some parts and the romance does get a little heavy, but so far it’s ended before it gets to be too much.

Loved it!

Wow! I'm blown away. This book was amazing, yet left me needing to read the next in line immediately. C'mon author. Get it written.

Kat and Reese try feverently to break the hex that Blaine put on Kat. She tries to reverse the mating bond before it's too late and completely succumbs to Blaine's whim. Everyone's relationship in this books seems to evolve into so much more. Can't tell you more without ruining it. Just read it!

Even better the second time around. I'm totally in love with the bad guy! I need more Blaine.

What a shame, I thought, peering down at the striking young man beneath me, to be so beautiful on the outside, only to possess such a blackened heart.

“It may be black, love,” his voice purred inside my head. “But that doesn’t mean it still can’t be made of gold.”

SWOON!!!

Covetous

I finished this book awhile back and forgot to write the review immediately. So, here I am trying to remember all the details. I know I liked this 2 book series. The pacing was good. This is definitely a love triangle, and I really liked the ending. I will most likely look for other books by this author.

Wow!

I just finished reading and I'm literally speechless and have an extreme book hang over! Insidious put me in a book slump for weeks, I couldn't pick up another book. This sequel was action packed, easy to follow, and incredibly simple to get caught up in! I literally could not put it down! Well done Victoria on another fantastic book! I'm literally dying for book 3! I highly recommend this author and this series!

*Received an ARC for my honest opinion*

So happy that Insidious wasn't a fluke! Victoria Evers writing style shines through in total awesomeness.

This book was better than the first, holy hell talk about some plot twists!

Now I don't know who's team I am on now. Going to need to read both books again to make sure where I lay my loyalties at. To say the least I highly recommend this book if you read Insidious. If you not read Insidious, get on that so you can read Covetous!

First let me just say WOW! I absolutely loved this book! Victoria Evers has me hooked!
In this exciting and page turning sequel we see Kat on the run from psycho, returned from the dead Blaine. Things aren't always as they seem when your the mate of a Prince of Hell. I found myself loving the bad guy! That never happens when I read. I am always that girl that loves the good guy and first love interest. This book had my emotions all over the place questioning exactly what makes a character the evil one or the good one. Blaine! Oh how I love him. I feel for him and all he has been through. Reese is an exceptional character as well but I just don't feel the same magnetism for him as I do Blaine. I
I honestly cannot wait to see where this story goes. I'm not sure if Victoria Evers will break the mold and write an ending to this series that let's the bad guy have the happy ending or if the more traditional ending will happen. I like when the author can think "outside" the box. So far that's exactly what she has done and I've loved every minute of it. Usually love triangles have a more dominate side and you know from the beginning who will win the love of the H. With this book though it's so well written that I honestly have no clue which way Kat's heart will be swayed.
The fight scenes were truly amazing to read. Kat kicks some serious butt in this one! Her character development is excellent. She is no longer the weak and scared girl we saw in the first book. I am patiently waiting for the next book in this series!!!!
I just had to add that I love Val and I REALLY hope he gets a story sometime as well.

This book is very well written. Similar in some ways to "Shatter Me" by Mafi, it shatters your initial expectations and takes you down a new road entirely-but in a believable way. I was incredibly impressed by this series and am excited for the next book. As an avid reader, I would say I'm impressed by about 1 out of every 10 to 15 books I read. This one definitely impressed me. I hope the next book provides an incredible conclusion to this epic romance. Rarely do I anticipate the release of a book, but for this series, I do. Rarely do I leave a review, but for this one I am. Read it. You will love it.

So was not expecting that wow

I'm really enjoying this new series and I personally find it really hard to find a decent demon series so when I read the description and it mentioned demons hell hounds and the Prince of lust I couldn't resist and the first book didn't disappoint literally read the book in a day couldn't put it down once I started great characters great plot but the mane reason I've given 4 stars not 5 is because of book 2 don't get me wrong the story is amazing how ever the leading lady kat is super frustrating her treatment of blain was so not necessary and quite a few times I was calling her a bitch and reece just seemed to be an obstacle kept getting in the way which annoyed me other than that love the rest of the characters Carly, mark and val brilliant I really hope in the next book kat finally gives blain the chance he deserves after all they are mated and should definitely be together I really recommend this series and I can't wait for the next book I will worn readers that it dose end on a cliffhanger but wow what a cliffhanger so hope the next book is out soon xxx

Wow.

Just 'wow'. That was incredible. SOOOO much character growth. I have to say I always have a tendency to root for the bad guy. This book has me salivating for a Val spinoff series/book. But the amount that you learn about ALL the main characters in this book is crazy. SO much happens.

I love the growth of Kat and Reese. And Kat and Blaine. And Val.

I did kind of feel like Carly being drug along for the ride was a little 'just for a spinoff setup', because otherwise she didn't feel particularly important. I would have liked for her to have been more of a connection/reminder of the "normal life" before all this happened. I think that would have served as a good juxtoposition for all the crazy that goes down in this book.

I LOVE that KAT isn't afraid of a fight. Though, I do wish she was coming by it of her own accord, rather than it being "from" Blaine. But I get it.

Also, when are we going to get a REAL taste of what this Prince of Lust is all about. I mean, Reese has been more hands on than Blaine.

I'm so excited for book 3.

Update - series is complete.

This story torpedos Kat’s life into a literally whirlwind of action, pain and revelation. I won’t go into too many details, as it will spoil this complex narrative, just know that few things are as they seem, friends can become enemies, enemies are really allies and always protect your heart...

Pros:
- Exceptionally well written.
- Character growth and revelations rock the players and the reader both.
- Kay: A heroine who actually responds like a rational being. This girl doesn’t just ‘accept’ fate, no, she fights tooth, hair and toenail... and NEVER stops.
- Blaine: Is he evil? Just misunderstood? Either way, he’s amazing.
- Val: Love to hate this guy, in the best way possible.
- With all the action and intrigue, any adult readers won’t care this is labeled YA. Trust me.
- Carly.... ok, so the girl is pretty bad@ss.

Cons:
- Very minor editing issues, never detracts.

Wow! I love this book. Usually book 1 are always the best when it comes to a series, but not this one. This one was for sure a page turner and a whole lot entertaining. I hated Blaine in book 1, but I love him in book 2. Kat definitely turned into one strong heroine, with the help of Blaine. I love that I got to know more of Blaine in book 2 and he is so much more than meets the eye. Sure I am very fond of Reese and he is adorable, but he is not around enough for me to completely fall for him... but Blaine is. Blaine is nothing like the person he was painted in book 1. He has kindness in his heart and so much love for Kat. He is smart, strong, loyal, a protector, a smart Alec and so so hot.

The ending broke my heart and I cannot wait to read more of this. Oh book 3, when are you coming into my life?

Wow

I'm not one to write reviews often, I just enjoy reading and rating, but I just had to take a moment to say how much I really am enjoying this series. It is unique with character building to not only the reader understand more but it is placed so unobtrusive thru the story one doesn't question how they understand or misunderstood a character. You just enjoy the ride of the read. I have become invested in this series and also anxious to dive into the next stories in this world to follow. Thank you Ms Evers for creating this great new world....

Loved it!

Heart pounding rapid action with our heroine fighting divided loyalties and attraction. The prince of hell turned out to be a totally different then previously implied. The good guys aren't good and the evil guys are not bad. The fights and narrow escapes, the sacrifices and the devotion are deeply affecting the arc of the story.
