Fandom: Harry Potter Relationship: Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley -------------------------------------------------- Navigating distances and finding your way back home. Harry and Ginny after the war.
For those that started with this series for the Harry / Ginny plot, this is where things really pick up. While it still follows Ginny in her 7th year at Hogwarts and Harry for a bit, their relationship really does become the focus in this book. There are still side plots and side characters, but they're less important, oftentimes just a foil to the main pair or something to move the plot along. It's a lot of angst and fluff and mostly lighthearted.
Summary
All in all, it's a good resolution to a lot of the build-up from the first book and The Changling, and the book shifts from the darker tone of the first book to a more romance and "young love" type story. There are still bits and pieces that things aren't 100% fixed, but after reading the whole series a lot of this is actually just a setup for the challenges in the last book of the series. The Harry/Ginny interactions are enjoyable to read, the "magic email" is a fun invention and I felt the pacing moved along in this book better than in previous. Similar to the 1st book, I sometimes didn't feel very invested in some of the characters, and there's a few odd sideplots that felt out of place, but perhaps the author was really trying to give some characters a proper ending that were more prominent in The Changling but won't be around now that Hogwarts is over.
some romance, some thrill and mostly badass characters. you will enjoy harry like never before. all other characters while staying true to canon have been given more depth and you are shown more insight to their characters, in a way, which we missed in the HP books.
read this and enjoy harry potter the way you always wanted.
at one point I thought that this books might turn into a book that was plot focused and that it all revolves around Harry being the master of death and this having an effect on his left and it would explain why he didn’t die when hit with the curse but alas I was wrong rip
this is the Hinny closure I needed
