One witch. Five guardians. A world of danger and intrigue with secrets that will change their lives forever...
Rory Bright is now a witch of the Regime, whether she wants to be or not. With the return of the Warden, Aisling Institute has become an even more menacing force in her struggle to figure out her new life.
Now Rory is faced with the prospect of embracing her fate or risking everything she's gained--her newfound powers and the love of her guardians.
But choices are never that simple.
The stakes in this dangerous game could demand a price Rory isn't willing to pay--her life and the lives of the men she cares for.
And if Rory doesn't find a way to control her magic, the game could be up before it even starts.
Sapphire Promises, the second novel in the Marked Souls series, is a full-length reverse harem paranormal romance full of adventure, intrigue and passion. Get ready to discover a captivating new world.
Ok..... so the prequel is what caught me to this series, but now that book 2 is done, I’m debating even starting book 3. There’s good things; fate, magic, Drew (will he be a guardian or won’t he??) but the overall FEEL of the book leaves me a bit flat. Not enough answers, questionable action, and a touch too much acceptance. What’s really up with the regime? What’s Killian’s game? And why do all the choices Rory makes feel too forced to be real?
Great Book, I feel if you took some of the sex parts out, my students would really get into this series. Mystery, magic, love, heartache, trust and the untrusted. Rory is a new witch, who has not been taught to be a witch. She is learning with her three guardians and best friend. She knows she can be powerful, but she has to learn to control it. She has found three of her guardians, but she is having a hard time trusting one. The Warden wants her, for his own, to use. What are the stakes in this world? Can Rory learn enough to control what magic she knows? Can she protect Drew her best friend and who she loves with all her heart? Will she ever be able to trust Xander who seems to be on the Warden's side? Nico seems to be ok, but can she really trust him? She know she can trust Ryker, but will he be enough to help her? Will she ever find her other two guardians? Will Killian become one, he has taught her so much even though he is the Wardens right hand man? How will she fight the Warden? What will all the stakes be to save the ones she loves? I received a free copy for my honest review.
Sapphire Promises Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (Marked Souls Book 2) by Sabrina Shelley is a truly fanciful tale of a young witch ...one who has yet to reach her potential as a powerful sorceress... Surrounded by forces who which only to use her powers as they see fit...plagued by secrets concerning about her hidden abilities and the mystery concerning her mother ...no wonder it takes not one or two guardians to protect and assist her...but a total of five strong male presences to guard and keep her. What will be the ultimate fate of Rory Bright?!? Will her future hold magical spenders on her own terms...or is her destiny merely to be a puppet of dark and deadly forces beyond her control?!? There can only be one outcome...An enchanted read. MUCH enjoyed.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Can’t really recommend this series, the world and the storyline are weak.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I’ve read Shadowed Secrets, Crimson Kisses, and this book Sapphire Promises, and all three books are hook you page turners, I couldn’t stop reading theses books one right after another, the story is a little fast pace, with just the right amount of mystery, romance and sadness, but what I love best about the books is the awesome characters... I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out..
I really enjoyed this book! You learn a lot more about Rory and her magic. Some relationships grow stronger while some still have the shadow of mystery. Drew’s role in her life is still not resolved and I’m really looking forward to finding out what the author has in store❤️❤️
Just as good as book 1! Rory has had nothing but bad luck but it just gets worse from there. It doesn't help that one of her bonded is keeping secrets! I look forward to the next one!
