So this is a good read - but I'm being nitpicky. I may clean this up later, but here's a quick ramble.

- Lots of recipes for rollerballs, diffusers, and inhalers
- Focuses dependent where in your life your hormonally are
- Case studies from various people so you can see what they implemented
- Details on why oils work in the way she's recommending
- Chemical breakdown of oils
- There's links to studies to explain where she got all her information from.

Issues I had with it:
- If you're eating healthily or have done an elimination diet previously, a good chunk of the book will be just fluff for you.
- The 14 Day Rescue Plan is essentially an elimination diet that tells you you can add in oils and self care pieces, but gives NO guidelines on that. Um, that's entirely what I bought the book for? Her elimination diet is okay, but if you're really going to do this, just go grab JJ Virgin's The Virgin Diet, as that's a much more thorough way of doing it. I'd rather JJ's book have been recommended (especially as they clearly know each other!), and more focus have been spent on oils.
- She contradicts herself about food pretty frequently. Example: You're not supposed to have fruit juice, but that's part of "all" she puts in her smoothie. (Please don't - add low sugar fruit like berries so you get some fiber.)
- Some of the rollerballs call for an insane number of drops - 30 in a 10ml rollerball? That's a 10% dilution rate, which is the maximum that Robert Tisserand recommends for specific issues, and that dilution rate isn't usually recommend for long term. I don't have an issue with the recommendation - but I'd love if this was mentioned and discussed why. If you're going to be talking to beginners to oils, safety education would be great.
- In general, the same few oils are mentioned time and time again, but she breaks down how to use them for different symptoms/part of your body. This annoyed me and I wished I could have read about everything she recommends using that oil for all in one place. I don't want to have go through my notes to read fifteen different sections about peppermint to remember what specifically I was looking for.

All in all: Worth the buy, but I'd pair with Virgin Diet, and maybe Sara Gottfried's The Hormone Cure. I have yet to do the 14 days but will update once I will. (Also if I decide to do her style which allows more things, or just to redo The Virgin Diet, but add in the red meat rule.)

An excellent look at naturally balancing women’s hormone! This book goes far beyond essential oils and looks at stress, sleep, toxic load and more when considering women’s hormones. I need to revamp the way I use essential oils for hormone support - so many great recipes and does in this book!! Well worth the read!!

Note: she does get a little new-agy with meditation and a couple of things like that. I just ignored those parts ;)

I've been excited to read this book as I'm really enjoying using essential oils and learning more about them. Dr. Mariza Snyder does an excellent job of talking through different hormonal issues women face and how we can use essential oils as well as diet and supplements to help manage hormone problems that may arise. I appreciate that Dr. Mariza is clear there is not a one size fits all and offers several things to try as well as things to talk to your health care provider about.

The first section of the book talks about using essential oils to balance your hormones instead of using hormones. This was very educational and eye opening on many fronts, as well as encouraging. Dr. Mariza shares how to appropriately use oils in a safe way as well as the top oils to use for balancing hormones. This is a great introduction to oils if you have not used them much.

Part two goes into using essential oils to to address hormonal symptoms. This section was excellent as it covered a variety of struggle areas for many women today and gave an overview of those symptoms and natural ways to manage them. The symptoms covered are stress, energy and fatigue, sleep issues, weight issues, female hormones including fertility, perimenopause and menopause, libido, emotions, cognitive issues, digestive issues and toxicity. Each section goes into the problems that are often dealt with and then oils and supplements and other care items that can help with each issue. Each section has a good overview and recommendations to get you started.

The last section Dr. Mariza takes you through her 14-Day Rescue Plan to help you reset your hormones. This includes a meal plan and oils to help you detox and reset your system. Since I'm currently pregnant I have not done this, but I am intrigued by it and may try the meal plan after my postpartum period.

For the information she gives this is an excellent book and resource. However, there are some things in this book that were too much for me. Her over indulgent focus on self care was very frustrating. I know she is coming at this from a secular western worldview, but telling women to look in the mirror every night and tell themselves "I love you" is unwise on so many levels. As a Christian this is just poor advice. I was also annoyed with being told I deserve to indulge in these things. Again, she's not a Christian so as a Christian reading this just ignore the self-focus and find Biblical avenues to care for your soul where Dr. Mariza tells you to focus on yourself.

I also did not appreciate the feeling of demonization of gluten and dairy. Again a secular view of food and the belief that God created foods to hurt us. She does say you can introduce these things back, but her attitude is you're better without them. I thrive on dairy!

Overall I'd give this book 3.5 stars. Great info to help with natural solutions to health problems, but a way too focused on self.

Contains some good information, but as I kept educating myself on using essential oils in general with other reads, I found that there are several recipes that seem less than safe. For example, to mix essential oils in water for topical application or bath (oil and water don't mix), a solubiliser should be used, but it is not done here. This would cause the oils to be too concentrated, and potentially dangerous, depending on the oil. Also, in baths, the EO floats on the water and can come into contact with very sensitive areas (genitals and other mucous membranes), which is a no-no... Same with the "infusion" or "detox water" recipes... oil and water don't mix. taking them as indicated is equivalent to ingesting them neat, which can be quite dangerous. Finally, the author promotes a 25% dilution, but the Tisserand Institute (authors of "Essential Oil Safety") specifies that a maximum of 5% (for adults) is more than sufficient. Don't take the contents for cash... Read with a grain of salt and confirm with research.

I brought this book, to learn more on essential oils and how they can help balance hormones. The book is so much more. With lifestyle changes to help relax and benefit you and take control, and exercise and rituals, as well as a 14 day eating plan, Dr Mariza has thought of everything to help balance everything.

I have enjoyed the book and I'm often referencing back to tips and techniques for whatever situation I am in or help I need.

This book has been very helpful. Thank you Dr Mariza.

Good stuff, but not everybody likes green smoothies. This is the one thing that bothered me enough to not give 5 stars...her meal plan literally had no solid food breakfasts. Nope. Bad move.

Otherwise, excellent info!

Essential Oils for more than just aromatherapy

I appreciated how this author focused in on a few essential oils to use in a number of different combinations for hormonal support. The superwoman blend is amazing!

I liked a lot of things about this book. The layout is easy to follow. I haven't tried the 14 day reset yet though. Some things I didn't love about this book: It is very repetitive. She probably could have just saved all the essential oil blend recipes for one spot instead of listing them over and over again. There's not much new information for me so it was kind of hard to keep reading it and took me a long time to get through. The routines also are not constructed for women with children and are just not practical for my stage of life. I still need to cook for my children who need high carbs for busy, growing bodies. I think it would have been better if there were more tips for people in my circumstances to incorporate routines into our lives. But I did like the reminder to use oils more because I often get too busy and forget how powerful they are in effecting moods, etc.

Dr Mariza Snyder is a gem! Love her style of writing, and how she weaves her own stories into points she's trying to make about essential oils and hormones. Full disclosure: I am a business owner with doTERRA and have been for 6 years, so I'm an avid oil user and my comfort level with oils is very high. I am a firm believer in the power of CPTG essential oils to support my body's systems and functions, and help me achieve the balance and optimal functioning I'm after, so this book was like a manual for my hormonal, pre-menopausal self. I heard her speak at an event, and knew I would buy this book in a hot second as soon as it was available. Great resource for any oil user, or anyone interested in hormones, really.

There is a lot of good information about oils to use for a variety of different topics. I initially got the audiobook version and it’s a complete waste of money because it’s a lot of just recipes that you likely will want to refer back to and that’s impossible on an audiobook. I then got the kindle version and that is going to be more useful because I can mark the pages.

Skip the audio go for the print.

Great for newbies to oils or healthy living! It had a lot of wonderful information in it. However, if you have been living a very healthy and mindful lifestyle, a lot of it may seem like a bit of a refresher. Tons of good information and essential oil recipes for diffuser blends or roller balls though!

Enjoyed a library copy then bought one at Barnes & Noble. So many good roller baller, inhaler, and diffuser blend recipes to use. Also, some food recipes to. Can’t wait to start the 14 day rescue plan and see how I do. I already do some of the rituals and will incorporate more into my daily routines.

Loved it! It’s information packed! Really opened my eyes to reasons for things I’ve experienced not realizing they could be linked to hormones! I’m planning on following many suggestions and essential oil recommended uses given in this book! Would definitely recommend this book to someone who is living similar struggles.

Though I've used essential oils, I'd never thought of them helping hormones. Not sure the layout of this book worked for me. I read it through and the individual oils followed by recipes was confusing. I wish there were an appendix of the individual oils mentioned and their uses.

Wouldn’t recommend, there were a few helpful things in here like blend ideas, guidelines for which essential oils to use for what, and how to properly use/dilute oils. I think I would much rather prefer something that is more handbook style than written in chapters like this.

I'm glad I read this book. There was a lot of useful information, but my main takeaway was that essential oils help manage the symptoms of hormone imbalance. The only way to actually solve the problem is through diet, exercise, and supplementation.
