A collision on the ski slopes of Alaska changes the trajectory of two wounded souls ... just in time for Christmas. If only they weren't too broken to embrace their shot at redemption. Adrenaline junkie and former reality TV star Jeremy Tully longs to forget the woman who left him with a tattered heart. More than anything, he wants to atone for his wrongs and break free from the anxiety holding him hostage. Professional snowboarder Alyssa Huard arrives in Emerald Cove, reeling from a humiliating betrayal, and desperate to escape the social media firestorm sidelining her career. When she collides with Jeremy on the ski slope, she instantly despises him, and he's not thrilled about a sassy, self-absorbed athlete crashing into his world, either. While filming a snowboard commercial less than a week before Christmas, Jeremy and Alyssa are trapped in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness, and she is forced to rely on him. Despite warning signs that this woman is all wrong for him, Jeremy is tired of playing it safe. Alyssa begins to trust him, but can their fragile bond survive when they're confronted by their pasts?

Amazing! This is the first book by Heidi McCahan I have read and I am totally hooked. I will definitely be going back and reading the first book in this Emerald Cove series. Though it's the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone; I was able to follow the subplot in this book involving Jeremy's brother and sister-in-law who were featured in the first book Unraveled. If you enjoy deeply emotional and moving contemporary inspirational romance, you need to pick up this book.
The book is easy to read and characters easy to love. Alyssa, an Olympic snowboarder, struggles with her worthiness as a child adopted out of the foster system. Though she has been unconditionally loved by her adoptive parents, Alyssa still has doubts and fears which are so real and tangible. Jeremy is a loyal, loving, and gifted photographer who tries to leave his past bad boy image behind to rebuild and right some of the wrongs he feels he has committed. His regrets and pain are vivid, as are his passion for outdoors and beauty found in nature. Their journey toward forgiveness of themselves and true acceptance of who they are is slow and full of heart-wrenching twists in the plot as well as memorable sweet moments. The backdrop of Emerald Cove, Alaska is breath-taking, especially in the high of winter and snow season.
I'm thinking there will be a third book in the series focusing on Jeremy's younger sister Megan. I cannot wait to read that one!
I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Pain can come in many forms. Mental and physical, emotional and spiritual. Alyssa and Jeremy both have experienced pain in their lives, and they're just trying to heal. Unfortunately, they crash into each other, both physically and mentally, and sparks fly. They both needed to learn their pasts don't always have to control their future, and forgiveness can be theirs. Yet, only if they draw upon the one true source, can they have complete healing. This book was a real enjoyable book to read. I loved reading about the wintry world of Alaska and the life of a snowboarder. I've never had the opportunity to ski or snowboard but this story made me want to get out in the snow and have some fun! I could also picture the beautiful scenery the author described. Heidi McCahan has a wonderful way of bringing to life all the stunning places which are found in Alaska. I've been to Alaska, and she does a fantastic job of making me want to go back. She paints beautiful scenes with her words. I highly recommend you pick this book up, if you want a bit of a wintry ride. I received this book from the author for an honest review, all opinions are my own.
I loved the romance in this book. Heidi McCahan does a beautiful job describing in detail the emotions of both characters as they fall in love and battle their insecurities and past mistakes. My favorite of the two POV characters is Jeremy. He struggled with his past, yet he loved Alyssa enough to show her grace throughout the story, not only about her indiscretion but also about her sometimes rude behavior towards him. The snowboarding scenes were super interesting also. Before I read this book, I never gave that sport a second thought. By the time I was finished reading it, I had looked up online videos so I could watch how it’s done. Of course, the spiritual element is present as this is an inspirational romance. The hope and truth of the Gospel is peppered throughout the story. I particularly loved when Alyssa came to the realization of whom she is in Christ. I recommend this book to fans of authors such as Tari Faris and Becky Wade, to name a few.
Another winner from this author. I’d love to visit Emerald Cove and spend some time skiing and enjoying the views. Jeremy and Alyssa’s story is a good one which keeps the pace all the way through. From professional snowboarding to living in an up and coming - hopefully - ski resort their lives intersect. Neither are in a great place emotionally but this changes throughout the book. I came away with the definite assurance that God is in charge and our blessings come through being true to Him. We also meet Blake and Lauren from book one (and please tell me their moving issue will be resolved in the next book...) and Jeremy’s little sister Megan. I’d like to imagine the next book being about her and Wyatt! Definite one to curl up with, although I did get cold toes from some of the descriptions of the snow!
I discovered Heidi’s books a couple weeks ago and can’t put them down. This is the second book I’ve read by Heidi McCahan & it captured my attention as quickly as book one in her Emerald Cove series. I appreciate the wholesome story and complex character development. These books have been a great way to relax but keep my mind engaged after a long busy day. I’m looking forward to reading more of Heidi’s books! keep up the great work Heidi!
Following the love story of photographer and wilderness guide Jeremy Tully and Olympic Gold Medalist in Snowboarding Alyssa Huard, Say You Won’t Go treats readers to lovely glimpses of a close-knit, isolated community and the Alaskan outdoor lifestyle Like Unraveled, the first in Heidi McCahan’s Emerald Cove series, this is a “clean” novel, suitable for teens, that departs in a delightful and contemporary way from formulaic “Cinderella” romances, while still engaging the readers with the characters’ emotions. With its themes of straying & forgiveness and guilt & redemption, Say You Won’t Go would be a perfect choice for a mother/daughter or young adult book club. Alyssa and Jeremy’s struggle to let love unite them and frequent crossed signals (like Lauren and Blake’s ups and downs in Book 1) stem from hearts wounded by the sexual permissiveness of our time and the conflicting messages young men and women hear today (even in some Christian circles) about the relative value of careers & independence versus marriage & family & interdependence. As they take risks in their careers and in the Alaskan backcountry, Jeremy and Alyssa must learn to take risks with their hearts as well.
Say You Won't Go is a well-written, clean romance. I felt with the characters, who are both dealing with really bad past decisions. I loved the complex, loving family relationships; the setting of Alaska; the natural dialogue; and the writing style of Heidi McCahan. I would recommend this book to clean romance readers and to Christian romance readers. I hope to read more of this author's work. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this great story.
Say You Won't Go is a heart warming story about two people who have made bad decisions in the past, God's love and forgiveness, and close knit family. This is a clean, sweet romance with great characters set in a small, breath takingly beautiful Alaskan village. Alaskan beauty is vividly portrayed throughout the story. I was immediately engaged with Jeremy and Alyssa journey. I could not put the book down!
This story has me hooked from the start. I loved all the internal conflict the characters had and couldn't wait to see how the story would end. I was not disappointed!!!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Read this book in just a few . It's a quick read, keeps you engaged, and is pretty well written. Maybe a couple off details that are off, but otherwise, it's a good distraction for a few hours.
Emerald Cove, Alaska. winter. Jeremy and Blake, brothers, have a kayak firm. Jeremy was a big talented photograph, some trouble occured in the past so came back home, leaving his love job. Nice story, you can live winter months adventures with the charachters, page turner, enjoy!

My husband told me about this author, for me there is nothing like a good book. This did not disappoint. Beginning to end, this is a page turner. Several exciting moments you aren’t sure which way she is going to take the story!!
