Team: A.L.P.H.A.:Six battle-hardened alphas with one goal—to save any omega in peril
Cain McKiernan had been told his brother Jonah was dead, and he’d never believed it. But what else could he do? An unprotected omega kid on the streets was as good as dead… or worse. But even as an adult, Cain hasn’t been able to escape.
Until Team A.L.P.H.A. captured him, thinking he worked for the cartel, and one of them tortured him. Until his mate found him. Until his brother saw him.
Ezra Dempsey isn’t sure he can forgive his twin brother for carving a tic-tac-toe board on his mate’s chest. His beautiful, scared, broken but strong mate. Ezra will do anything to protect his mate, even if it means choosing Cain over his brother.
But his brother isn’t the biggest danger they face. The cartel that took Cain from Jonah so many years ago is still out there, and they need to pay. Cain knows all the secrets, and if the team will just trust him, they may be able to take down one of the largest threats to shifters ever.
This is the fifth book in this exciting series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel. You can expect to find naughty, knotty scenes of steamy passion, along with a lot of potty-mouth language and occasional violence. Be prepared for way too many kids running around and more than one unexpected pregnancy. HEA definitely included, intended for 18+ readers only. Seriously, would you expect anything less from Susi Hawke and Crista Crown?
Trigger warnings: graphic violence, mention of past trauma and human trafficking
I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!
I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.
As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.
I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.
Looking forward to the last book in this crazy shifter series. But let's talk about Cain and Ezra. They made a nice sweet couple who had it pretty easy dispite Cain being carved up like a Thanksgiving Turkey by Zeke. After a few tense moments things slotted right into place. Now all we need is Jonah and his Omega.
I love these teams, all of them in each team. These series are well written. The chaste intense, committed, strong and tender. They are family. It shows how our families may be born, Made of a combination of the two. It doesn't matter, they are family. Yes, family with sexy hunks, complex One has and adorable kids. Read them all.
I laughed a lot as I read the book, there were heart warning moments and some emotional ones. Never easy when one of the main characters had a rough life.
Character breakdown;
Cain: I didn't know what I was going to expect maybe another Pax but I'm glad he wasn't. I loved his skittish nature but willing to allow people in. That he longed for the family he was brought into.
Ezra: boy was he a funny mess, it wasn't hard to like him but also have those facepalm moments when he put his foot in his mouth. But the adoration he has for Cain was beautiful.
Favorite quote; “You. Are. Mine,” he whispered between kisses, slowly trailing down my ribs and abs. “No one touches you without your permission.” -Ezra to Cain
Loved this book like the rest was a pleasure to read laughter and love in abundance!
ETA: this 5/21/2021. I reread the book and have a few critical things to say. One Ezra acting like his brother was suppose to know that Cain was “innocent” with the cartel, and getting mad at him for shit that made no damn sense. Irritated me, maybe it has something to do with the narrator telling the story I honestly don’t know. Two the fact that Cain spent years away from his brother Jonah and basically “forgot” that he had him as a family. Running to Ezra overly happy family (which btw that’s fucking scary who is THAT inviting?) and leaving Jonah in the dust. Plus I feel like Cain needed a little more character development and A LOT less “my mate this, my mate that.”
This book just didn't quite have the magic for me that the others in this series have carried. I liked both Cain and Ezra, and live the team as a whole, but I never felt like I fully connected with the story.
Ezra's grudge against Zeke didn't quite seem in character. And I would have liked to see more of Cain's journey to being well adjusted after spending over a decade living in fear and working for the cartel, to being tortured, to suddenly being free.
I am very curious about how Jonah's story is going to play out...
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Ezra and Cain. I was annoyed how long it took Ezra to forgive Zeke after he thought Cain was a bad guy with the Cartel and needed some stress relief since he didn’t know what was happening to Pax so he was playing naughts and crosses against himself on his chest with his dull kn*fe, nothing that him and Ezra haven’t done with their prisoners before and he had no idea who Cain was being Jonah’s missing brother and Ezra’s true mate. He tried to apologise multiple times but Ezra wasn’t ready to listen to him even though he knew that it was what they’d do to get their prisoners to talk. I also think the delay in forgiving his twin was because Cain was terrified of him so when Cain started to slowly not fear Zeke it was easier to forgive him. Man, Noah’s reactions when he heard that Papa P and His dad Roy were having a baby at their age was priceless, he fainted twice and the guys on Team A.L.P.H.A loved giving him sh*t about it and he looked like he was going to throw up when he heard about it as he hated thinking about how his dad became pregnant especially at their ages. I loved to get to know Jonah more but felt really sorry for him when they forgot to tell him that they were expecting multiples and he had to hear it from Pax but he paid them back by telling Cain that he’d be doing so much research and they’d have to deal with his germaphobe a*se and not complain. Wow, I’m really looking forward to reading his book next considering he scented his mate and stepped through god knows what and picked him up and carried him out of the shipping container that he and all the other traffi*ked omegas were being packed in like sardines and considering he’s a germaphobe, he did it without even thinking. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.
This was such a fun read! I love Ezra and Cain. They are tooth rottingly sweet together! I love how they complement each other. Ezra is a little bit of a blockhead and Cain might be a little emotionally stunted but they are so good for each other. I also really appreciate just how funny this book was at times, given the seriousness of the rest of the plot. Another thing that I really liked about this book (and the series in general) is that it shows the characters getting therapy to deal with their traumatic experiences! That’s something that I don’t see in a lot in books.
So, while I really liked this one, I think it could also have used one more editing pass. One of the chapters was mislabeled, some of the dialogue was a little stilted and out of character, and in a couple of places I feel like the authors lost track of who they were talking about. Otherwise! This was a really fun and enjoyable read. This is getting a solid three and a half out of five stars.
This is the 5th book in the Team ALPHA series. Could be read as a stand-alone because it’s a new couple but the team is working on the same case from the previous books. This is probably a 3.5 stars for me. Unfortunately there are just too many similarities in these books on how the relationships progress. And all the omegas in each book seem to have back labor and don’t realize they’re having a baby. For some reason there also always seems be a character that is treated unfairly or cruelly by the others which is annoying because they are supposed to be a happy, if a bit unconventional, family. Sometimes it’s one of the MCs and sometimes it’s one of the main supporting characters. In this instance, I spent more of the book being annoyed at how Jonah was being treating, despite how selfless he was being to his brother, then enjoying Ezra and Cain’s love story.
Another violent opening salvo that pulls you into the fifth Team Alpha book. What made this book so interesting are the complexities of the family dynamics and the ever expanding relationships. The importance of Brotherhood and all meanings of the word are extolled here.
The Comradeship of Brothers at Arms Alphas with a common shared goal of rescuing Omegas. Separated Brothers finally reunited after many years of searching for one another. Twins at odds because of a huge mistake involving mates. Owning up to one's traumatizing behavior. Finally realizing what it means to be a part of a family as a brother or "son". Learning to Trust again. Making up for lost time.
SO MANY BABIES! This book had babies popping up everywhere! It was great! Cain had to learn how to trust Alphas, become comfortable around a very large new extended family, and how to attempt to forgive his mate’s twin after everything that happened to him.
A.L.P.H.A. Worked with S.T.A.H.P. to take down the cartel.
***** POV... multi first person
Hangover... slight
Standalone or series ... book 5 of series but can be read as standalone
Recommend... yes
Reread... yes
****** KU read Cain McKiernan (Omega and former cartel member) Ezra Dempsey (Alpha and medic)
After being captured and tortured by the A.L.P.H.A. team it quickly comes to light that Cain is Jonah's long lost brother and was only working with the cartel so that he could continue looking for his brother. After a bit of a rocky start him and his fated mate Ezra settle into their happy life while trying to take down the cartel. There were a few surprises along the way though.
This one had so many funny moments, many at the expense of Jonah. It was much needed after my disappointment with the last book. I am excited to see whats next for this amazing group of men.
Maybe I have just been binge reading this series too much because I was bored, even though I did like the story. They just all seem to have the same plot like find mate, save mate, fight bad guys, mate gives birth, HEA. Having said that, I found Ezra sweet and I liked Cain as well. I appreciated that this didn't turn into a brother drama like during Boomer's book. Like even though Jonah didn't want them mating at first it was more because he just hadn't seen his brother in so long.
Action, comedy and romance with Hot steamy scenes!
This is the 5th installment of the A.L.P.H.A series. I have been waiting to see who Ezra would be mated to. Cain is a perfect match for him! It was great to see the characters from the other books and read about the antics they still get into. Susi Hawke and Crista Crown never disappoint you with their brilliant writing ! Their characters come alive in their stories. I'm looking forward to more!
Ezra just found his mate... The omega being interrogated by Sara's twin and also happens to be teammate Jonah's long lost brother, Cain. Can't deny the Team ALPHA series is full of drama and action.
This is a great installment to the series and, like the previous books, mixed a perfect combination of humor, sexiness and sweetness. Loved it!
As usual Susi and Crista have turned out another great story from Team A.L.P.H.A. and this time it is Cain and Ezra who shine. Ezra meets his mate also Jonah found his long lost brother while his brother is busy carving on his chest trying to break him as Cain had worked for the cartel. More babies with plenty of love and trying to bring down the cartel is all in a days work for this team! Great read with more hints of things to come!
Another great add to the series. Ezra and Cain have a few issues to work out, one being why is Cain working with the bad guys? Cain and Jonah being reunited will get you emotional for sure, so much is happening for Cain all at once. Ezra has to struggle with his own feeling on what happened to his mate by his own twin and how to make Cain see that he can have it all, he's safe and free. Love the added side characters popping in and how that main plot goes. Can't wait for the next.
This series is so good! It’s sweet and funny, but always with enough action behind to avoid it being boring! Cain and Ezra are good MCs and I loved how Cain, was a big help in plotting taking down the cartel, since he’d been part of the organization, and takes an active role in the mission. It was sort of sad to see Ezra at odds with his twin Zeke, since they’re usually thick as thieves, but, as they say, time heals all wounds.
After getting separated from his brother, Jonah, Cain reluctantly worked for the cartel, while trying to find a way to take them down. After being captured by the team, and being identified as Ezra's mate, he finally has his chance. Ezra and Cain go through a lot, both in their growing bond and the mission to take down the cartel. Lots of action, as they team up with STAHP to end the cartel's omega trafficking.
Thks books keep getting better & better!!! You jump right into the story & join the action which there is a lot of!! I've read each story in a single setting you just can't put them down I find myself sighing from all the love and glad all those babies are theirs!!!! But I also love all the joking & sarcasm from the team & their mates!!! On to the next boom Thank you Lori
This is Ezra & Cain’s story, it starts with finding Cain in enemy territory and Zeke torturing him. Everything explodes then with Jonah realising Cain is his brother and Ezra recognising his mate. It’s messy and they’re all thrown into “jail” to sort their issue. Even with a messy start, Ezra & Cain finds each other and start their journey. A lot of things about Cartel is revealed and the team is moving to destroy them. They also have triplets which is crazy amount of babies to have. 🤪 Overall, fun book with lots of brotherfucker jokes 😂

This one was just ok for me. I feel like they are getting a bit silly. I wasn’t a fan of Pax in the last book and he continues to take over in this one. Grudges are once again carried for way too long over something that couldn’t be changed and surprise pregnancy ended up with triplets. Next time it’ll be quads for sure.
The time had come for Ezra and Cain. The former cartel member/prisoner proved his worth in this book. Ezra and Cain make great mates, whether Jonah wanted it to be or not. The team dynamics were great and I love all the characters. Great story and even better surprise at the end for Jonah! Can't wait for the next book!
I just want to go back to book one and start the whole series over again. I love alpha\omega\mpreg books. And this series is one of my absolute favorites. Ever Alpha was badass with just the right amount of possesivness. The omega always had sass in their Own ways. A great series.
It Ezra's turn and with Jonah's little brother who has been doing his best to survive in a cartel that deals in drugs and human/shifter trafficking. This was another good instalment of this series with the last one coming soon but read these books in order to get the full storyline.
I fell you, this series just keeps getting better and better. Loved Cain and Ezra. Fell in love with Cain immediately, his dangerous vulnerability. Ezra is just sexy as hell, lol!! This is the first books that I've read from these authors, but it won't be the last.
This may be my favorite book in the series so far. They all follow the same basic storyline but I really liked Cain and Ezra. I also enjoy the sense of family each book brings. With the way these guys are having babies it’s going to take a cheat sheet to keep track soon. I’d say good clean fun but there was an awful lot of body fluids in this one!
So glad Jonah found his brother again!! The bathroom scene and the get together at Bossman and Papa Ps was really funny!! Ezra forgiving Zeke was awesome, you shouldn't ever hold grudges against your sibling.
