This uplifting book joyfully explores the biblical promise that nothing can separate us from God's love.
Can anything stop God's love and God's grace? This uplifting picture book joyfully explores the answer from Romans 8:38-39-nothing can separate us from God's love. Curious children wonder if God's love can be stopped by rumbling volcanoes, deep oceans, elaborate disguises, and personal shortcomings, and come to the comforting conclusion that "There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong-God's love is too high and too deep and too long!" With whimsical rhyme and imaginative illustrations, this affirming book gives children confidence in God's unstoppable love.
Natalee Creech is a children's author who is equally at home in Canada, (where she grew up) in the U.S., (where she studied education) and in South Korea (where she taught for many years). Regardless of where she lives, she is probably sneaking more children's books into the house, much to the delight of her children and the dismay of her husband. Oreo, the family cat, remains indifferent.
This is a heart warming and perfectly illustrated children’s book which will help a child feel fully loved by God. Bases on Romans 8:38-39, this is a book that I will stock up on to always have ready to give as a gift for children as it is a delightful read and how comforting for a child to know that nothing can separate him/her from God’s love. This has all of the elements that I look for in a quality children’s book, beautiful illustrations, lovely rhythmical prose and an encouraging spiritual message for kids to internalize and always remember how much God loves them. Unequivocally- 5 stars.
Author Creech based her book _Nothing_ on Romans 8:38-39--Nothing can separate us from God's love. It starts with a child's question: "Can ANYTHING separate me from God's love?" The answer follows in rhyming text that kids will find fun and relatable. Illustrations by Joseph Cowman add drama, humor, and imagination, taking kids on further adventures--all within the reach of God's love. Creech addresses the child's concern when he or she does something wrong. Yes, God love us even then. Creech's refrain is one that kids can easily learn and repeat to themselves. Recommended for Christian church & school libraries, as well as personal home libraries. This would make a perfect book before bedtime. In full disclosure, I won a copy of this book in an online contest.
This lovely book reminds children that God's love will be with them always, no matter where they are and no matter what mistakes they might make. Filled with beautiful rhyming text and gorgeous and colorful illustrations, this book is sure to be one that your child will ask you to read again and again!
This sweet book is a powerful reminder that we are all loved -no matter where we go and how far we travel. The illustrations are delightful and I especially love the ending which is about forgiveness. Forgiving others and ourselves is the true definition of unconditional love. What a wonderful book to start or end the day.
Joseph Cowman’s illustrations are adorable in Nothing, Natalee’s Creech’s new rhyming picture book. Creech’s rhymes are unique and well-thought out. Based on a Bible verse, this book is meant to assure children that they will always be one of God’s children, but it is definitely for a Christian audience and would not be suitable in a public school setting, which might limit its possibilities.
Nothing Can Separate You from God's Love! by Natalee Creech is a lyrical picture book based on Romans 8:38-39. The text has an almost song-like feel, with exquisite rhyme and rhythm, active verbs and a lovely repeating refrain! The colourful, sweet illustrations by Joseph Cowman are a perfect compliment to Creech's text.
Kids will recognize their own doubts and fears and failings among the common experiences and fantastical adventures depicted in the vibrant illustrations. It is deeply comforting to hear the refrain "There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong - God's love is too high and too deep and too long."
This book is truly delightful and is absolutely a must buy for families who want their kids to know how loved by God they are! Every page is chock-full of details and humor, and the rhyming text is fun to read out loud. Can't recommend it enough. :) I can't wait for it to publish in April!
This book is based on a bible verse and clearly is intended for a Christian audience. Beyond that, it’s a sweet book that gently reminds children they are loved no matter where they go. It’s a story of unconditional love and forgiveness. illustrations are lovely.
This book reminds us that we have God's unconditional love, no matter where we go or what we do. As a Christian, I loved the text and would use this book to help me teach the kids in my life about God's great, boundless love.
As a non-denominational family, we loved the message in this book. Love doesn’t go away, even if you make a mistake. This is something children need to be reminded of. It has beautiful rhyming language and delightful illustrations.
A Wonderful Way to Teach Children About God's Love As a children’s author of faith-based picture books, I know how hard it is to explain a theological concept to young children, but Natalee Creech makes it look easy. On the first page of her book, NOTHING, a question is asked, “Can anything separate me from God’s love?” Based on Romans 8:38-39, this book takes the reader on a rollicking ride from the highest mountain to the deepest ocean—in all kinds of severe weather—to answer it. The clear, rhyming text is a perfect match for the charming illustrations by Joseph Cowman, which add delight and humor while helping the youngest child to understand that nothing separates us from the love of God. The fact that we are loved no matter where we go and no matter what we say or do is so reassuring. What a wonderful way to teach children using one word that they can understand. The clever title, NOTHING, is the answer. I highly recommend this book! –Amy Houts, author of God’s Protection Covers Me (Beaming Books)
A beautifully illustrated, wonderful book that teaches children that absolutely nothing separates us from God's love. I will be buying one for my grandchildren as well as the school library where I work.
The sing-song rhyme will have you tapping along, while the beautiful illustrations sweep you away. This book is a sweet reminder that we are all loved, no matter where we are in our lives. A great addition for every library or bookshelf!
“There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong – God’s love is too high and too deep and too long,” Natalee Creech ends her children’s book, Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love!
~ What ~ This thirty-two-page-page board book with rounded corners targets children ages four to eight years old. With no scary scenes, it contains how wonderful God’s love is and that we cannot escape it. Colorful, engaging, and expressive illustrations cover both sides of the pages with an easy-to-read font size.
This short read for kids reminds them how God loves us, no matter where we are. He can and does see us whether we are high on a mountain or deep in the sea. He is there no matter the elements outside or if we attempt to get away from Him. Even if we say or do something wrong, His grace and love will not go away. The ending reiterates we are children of the King.
~Why ~ This is an amazing rhyming book that young children can enjoy looking at the interesting drawings while being read to or beginner readers up to the third-grade level can understand without too many complicated words. I greatly appreciate the book’s main point that God’s love is always there, no matter what. The artwork is intriguing, detailed, and fun entertainment, especially the animals’ expressions.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not like a book that talks about God and His eternal love. There are a few two- and three-syllable words that young readers may need help pronouncing.
~ Wish ~ It would be helpful if it mentioned Jesus so there is no confusion between the Almighty God and a false god. It may be more age-appropriate for two to six-year-olds.
~ Want ~ If you are looking for a creative, fun, and endearing book that focuses on how powerful God’s love is, this would be an excellent gift for a young one.
Thanks to Hachette Book Group, WorthyKids, and the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
Nothing is something special. This children’s book is stirring and significant, expressing the special message from Romans 8:38. Nothing can separate us from God’s love.
The board book has sturdy pages filled with colorful, diverse, and imaginative illustrations. The lilting rhymes drift easily off the tongue and give the story a sing-songy sound. The message expresses how powerful, unending, and immeasurable God’s love is. It’s too powerful, strong, high, deep, and long that God’s love can’t reach you.
The situations demonstrated are fun and adventurous, celebrating God’s extraordinary love. Blessed assurance for young readers.

Nothing is EVERYTHING! What a perfect concept and expert execution of this encouraging Bible passage. I can't wait to read it to my daughter! It's so well done, I plan to add it into our weekly reading...because who doesn't need this reminder! Also, it would be a really good purchase for every church Sunday School classroom!
Based on one of my favorite Bible verses from Romans 8, this lovely picture book tells children the powerful truth that wherever they go, whatever they do, no matter what they say, NOTHING can separate them from God's love. What could possibly be more important for children to know? A resounding five stars for Natalee Creech's wonderful words and Joseph Cowman's vibrant illustrations. Highly recommended.
