Injustice goes cosmic as we check in with Hal Jordan. He's been sent to a penal colony for his crimes when the Red Lanterns show up and make a mess of everything. Atrocitus does something really stupid that leads into volume 6.
Taylor continues to merge in just the right amount of action and humor that I haven't seen in the DC universe since the days of the Justice League International from Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. I'd love to see Taylor write an old school Blue and Gold series with Kevin Maguire illustrating it.

Another great installment. I enjoy the fact that that there are multiple story-lines going at the same time, and I respect the fact that they are all brilliantly entertaining and well written.

With the focus expanding away from Batman & co., other characters are allowed their moment in the spotlight. Hal gets brought back into the picture whilst the Titans attempt to regroup after tragedy. This is mainly one for the next generation of heroes, but it lets some of the originals play their hand in an ever-growing war for the world & universe.

This was another great volume as we have the story with Kara defeating amazo and then the stuff with Anasthasia and confronting her father and I like the story elements there and how the two of them fight and its epic the way it ends bringing so many story elements together in a fantastic fashion! A thorough line for Bruce and gives him the much needed human levity in the story!
Then my favorite thing with Hal and how he is being punished and then the attack of the Red lanterns and what happens to his next, his journey and then the stuff with Lobo and the new Titans on their cosmic adventures and how both this story connects and it promises great confrontation and action and pay off and also a massive thing for Hal maybe next!
I loved this one and its an amazing story and sure gets cosmic in the end but does well to retain the super heroics really well here, everyone will love this one for sure! Plus the art of Redondo and Sampere OMG SO GOOD!

The series is really Well written. It’s Just the lack of payoff at the end. It is like every single idea had to be finished in 1 issue. Seemed like They needed Another 6 issues to finish this But okay Maybe Injustice 3 one day? Could also Just be a way to say GO PLAY THE VIDEO GAME FU!

We now see what has happened to Green Lantern and the rest of the Corps since the end of the first Injustice series. Hal Jordan is now a prisoner and working at a penal colony with just his memories and guilt to keep him company. But when Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns come knocking, all hell breaks loose.
The character work with Hal is fantastic, really detailing and visualizing the remorse that he feels in the part that he played in Superman’s violent regime. It’s the highlight of another great installment in the series.

I think this volume goes a little too far astray for its own good. After dealing with the Amazo fight in the last volume, and an unpleasant issue dealing with Bruce and Athanasia that I really could have done without, most of the book takes place in space, with Hal, Red Lanterns, Lobo, METRON, and others. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, which I'm not thrilled with, but it gets extra points for the relationship between Blue Beetle Jaimie and Booster Gold (As a JLE fan from back in the day, and a big Booster fan for a long time, the relationship between these two has always been a bright spot in the series for me).
The overall tone is darker - there are some deaths early on that seem utterly pointless, and Hal's experiences with guilt and the Red Lanterns are borderline depressing. I'm holding judgment until I see the next volume, though.
On it's own, this is probably one of the weakest volumes in the series, but the series has set a high bar, so that's not saying a lot.

Tom Taylor is truly one of the best writers around, and Injustice 2 is just proof of it.
With a new Superman around they want to create the titans again. So Superman and his friends go to blue beetle to ask if he'd like to join. On top of that you have Bruce dealing with the fallout of his other child. Oh and remember Hal? Remember what he did in Injustice 1? yeah well he has a lot of redeeming to do and it starts here.
Now that I've read a lot of green lantern I was really invested in this volume. I love to see Hal and try to fix things while having Guy in his head. Not to mention there's a BIG laugh out loud moment with him and a cat. Oh and a few more big heroes die, one I was even shocked by. Batman subplot was solid too if not a little predictable.
Overall some great stuff. I'll miss Injustice 2 once I'm done reading.

This is Justice League international of Injustice books. The first series and part of this one were all Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman. We end with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.

I feel betrayed. This series is so great, and then Taylor went and murdered the puppy purely for bullshit shock value. I just bought the first three collections, too. After 37 years in animal rescue, having witnessed all manner of barbarity aimed at pets, the kinds of things that give me nightmares, this is a real trigger for me. Taylor has tainted all these books.

Vol. 5 continues the story right where the previous one left off.
The Justice League deals with the aftermath of the battle with Amazo and the Titans search for new recruits. In space we visit the Green Lanterns as we see Hal Jordan again serving his sentence. The Red Lanterns arrive and declare war on Sinestro, Oa and the universe itself.
Each volume of Injustice 2 is amazing and this is one of my favorite comicbook series of all time.
Tom Taylor continues the great work and I'm running out of good things to say.
The art is pretty as always.
It's also amazing how he tells many stories at the same time and each and every one of them is great.
Let's hope the next and last volume is as great as the rest of the series.

Whaaaa just happened?!?
Let's start with chapter Seventy-Two; what the hell does "The End" mean?
The final(maybe) chapter of the glorious Injustice Multiverse seemed, to my eyes to be a tribute to the Fans. Granted the entirety of the Injustice publication is one giant gift to the Fandom, this particular chapter did not have the same weave as the rest of the arc (with the possible, some might say mandatory, exception of Ground Zero).
The final volume reintroduces the Lantern Corps (Lobo gets a power Ring!), and throws a segment of the story into Space. Unfortunately, unlike previous shifts made in the Injustice battle arena -- that have so far taken us through the inclusion of Magic, Superpowered Humans, Yellow Lanterned villains, and an Ecoterrorist -- this one does not feel natural. Had Brainiac been alerted to the Earth when Supergirl crushed Amazo's processor then we would have had a legitimate reason for that threat to once again alter the Injustice landscape. Instead the AI-based sociopathic Superman villain is presented to us almost by accident (chance & happenstance), clearly the work of the Arthur trying to bend the story to his will.
Additionally, the mini-arc that sees Hal Jordan restored to the Green Lantern Corps would have worked just as well without the Titans and they clearly didn't need Booster Gold! This volume too clearly showed the hands of the Arthur in the story; it tainted the story, took away from the chaos and random nature of events.
I gave this Volume a moderate rating, not because of the quality of the writing, but because it felt broken, and apart from the spirit of Injustice.

This book turns its focus toward the galactic side of the DCU. Specifically the ramifications and dealings of Hal Jordan and where he ended up after Injustice.
Basically he is at the mercy of the Guardians and ends up digging ditches on some planet. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Hal, the red Lanterns attack and they have now enlisted Starro to attack OA.
This was a really solid volume that had great appearances by the Teen Titans, Lobo, and Blue Beetle. I think its awesome to add these characters to the fray because to be honest, normally I really wouldn't care about them. But to add them as essential characters in the war of red lanterns vs Green Lanterns, and it just works.
There's also the subplot of Braniac assisting Grodd to take over Gorilla city, and we finally see Ras al Ghul receive his comeuppance. So while we see Ras al Ghul go down, we aren't exactly left in a great state as Grodd is now in control.
And bonus points for the marriage of Croc and Orca. That was sweet in a twisted, horrible way.
Don't know if there's going to be a volume 6, but if there is, I'm there.

Batman and Ra’s Al Ghul’s battle slows down as both sides lick their wounds and look to expand their numbers. Bruce turns his sights on backing his team with wealthy superheroes who can help institute real global change while the Teen Titans look to expand their membership. This leads to Blue Beetle being summoned by Metron to fight a universal threat.
This volume seemingly goes off on a side story, but it’s a hell of a ride. There is a ton of fun setup along the way. I especially liked what I thought was just a throw away gag of the Red Lantern Corp to be revisited as a whole story arc. It was simply brilliant. Taylor continues to add a lot of humor into the story while never straying into a comedy or parody book.

This was the first volume of the series that I felt was off. It was nice enough getting to see what the Green Lanterns have been up to since Injustice 1 but admittedly that’s a section of the DC Universe I never cared much for. I know even less about the Red Lanterns beyond kitty cat one but I do know Starro and him getting a ring is a scary concept. The Earth side of the story wasn’t that much more interesting, it mostly was about the fall out of the split in Ra’s al Ghul’s forces. It felt like there was a huge buildup to Bruce’s love child with Talia (no not that love child, the one created for Injustice) but that didn’t really go anywhere beyond a John Wick plot point and the Justice League saving the Bat Family despite Bruce telling them not to. Booster Gold’s plotline with Jaime, the Titans, etc was a bit more interesting and I did like Jaime and Kara’s bonding moment after she killed Amazo.

Wayne Manor has been infiltrated, threatening the lives of Alfred Pennyworth and Selina Kyle. Bruce Wayne is forced to seek assistance in rescuing them. Meanwhile Hal Jordan's intense rage at his actions as a Yellow Lantern sees him coopted into the Red Lantern Corps.
Taylor's plot moves towards its close and the story ramps up the tension as the characters are moved into their final positions. The art is of a high standard and the pages flow easily.

The penultimate Volume of Injustice 2 is good, but takes the focus away from most of the major characters and focuses a lot on secondary characters. Obviously, that is needed, but it does leave a feeling of setup for the final showdown.
Highlights:
- Recovering from his battle with Ra's Al Ghul, Batman is healing at Wayne Manor. There is an intruder on site though... Athanasia Al Ghul has returned from a stint in a Lazarus Pit to take revenge on her father. After some stalling from Alfred, a team (Harley, Black Canary, Green Arrow and Booster Gold) come to his assistance.
- Hal Jordan must pay for his crimes, so the Guardians sentence him to hard labor in a colony (run by Soranik Natu) helping to reshape a world. Trouble seems imminent when Sinestro arrives, and with Hal hallucinating Guy Gardner, will he be able to help?
- Some members of the GLC show up to check on the planet, responding an energy spike, and Tomar-Re is killed by Dex-Starr, who heralds the coming of Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns.
- During a skirmish with the Reds, Hal gets a hold of a Red Ring and uses his new Rage powers to hold off Atrocitus and the RLC so the GLC can escort the prisoners safely back to Oa. Atrocitus decides to not kill Hal for his treachery but instead shows him that they will conquer by making Starro a Red Lantern. Hal runs off to Oa to warn them, and cuts off his own finger to remove himself from the RLC.
- The Titans are forming in the Injustice Universe! Superboy (Connor Kent), Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), Starfire, and Booster Gold are recruiting, and they have their sights set on Blue Beetle. Heading out into space together (after stealing a shuttle from the Hall of Justice), the team runs across Lobo, who has been paid to take Blue Beetle.
- Who hired Lobo? None other than Metron, a New God, who claims that the carrier of the Beetle is the only one who can stop Red Lantern Starro.
What will happen next? Probably a lot of fighting and a fair amount of death, considering who didn't make it into the second video game...
Bring on Volume 6! Recommend.

After some stalling from Alfred, a team (Harley, Black Canary, Green Arrow and Booster Gold) come to his assistance.
- Hal Jordan must pay for his crimes, so the Guardians sentence him to hard labor in a colony (run by Soranik Natu) helping to reshape a world. Trouble seems imminent when Sinestro arrives, and with Hal hallucinating Guy Gardner, will he be able to help?
- Some members of the GLC show up to check on the planet, responding an energy spike, and Tomar-Re is killed by Dex-Starr, who heralds the coming of Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns.
- During a skirmish with the Reds, Hal gets a hold of a Red Ring and uses his new Rage powers to hold off Atrocitus and the RLC so the GLC can escort the prisoners safely back to Oa. Atrocitus decides to not kill Hal for his treachery but instead shows him that they will conquer by making Starro a Red Lantern. Hal runs off to Oa to warn them, and cuts off his own finger to remove himself from the RLC.
- The Titans are forming in the Injustice Universe! Superboy (Connor Kent), Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), Starfire, and Booster Gold are recruiting, and they have their sights set on Blue Beetle. Heading out into space together (after stealing a shuttle from the Hall of Justice), the team runs across Lobo, who has been paid to take Blue Beetle.
- Who hired Lobo? None other than Metron, a New God, who claims that the carrier of the Beetle is the only one who can stop Red Lantern Starro.
What will happen next? Probably a lot of fighting and a fair amount of death, considering who didn't make it into the second video game...
Bring on Volume 6! Recommend.

It's Tom Taylor, it's Injustice, it's still the best dang Elseworlds/Video game tie-in title out there. I love how the heroes who "broke bad" are treated, each dealing with remorse, atonement, or unrepentantness in his/her own way.

It's no DC major event if no Lanterns are involved. Green and Red Lanterns engage in their own galactic struggle. Unfortunately, I am just as underwhelmed about all the Lantern history as when I tried to get into that universe. I'm not a Lobo fan either. I would have preferred to keep this story on Earth were it belongs.

Oh, Ace.
There's a lot going on in this book, but it somehow feels a little calmer after Vol. 4 and the showdown with Amazo. Maybe it's because we're focused on some other characters here. Maybe it's because this book's got some small team-ups...Either way, I surprisingly really liked it (surprisingly, because these are the characters I don't really know).
The Characters:
Athanasia al Ghul is obviously cray, and I adored the save/assist from her by the team.
I really enjoyed the story with Hal Jordan. I want to root for him (after all the terribleness of & I want to see him flip to Bat's side.
I loved Hal's guilt and Guy Gardner's memory.
So far, I'm not Jamie's biggest fan, but I kind of love Booster Gold (he's a doofus) & I've always loved Lobo! <3
It was hilarious when Booster jacked Batman's spaceship, and 1. they couldn't shut off the alarm (lol) and 2. Batman put on his cowl to talk to Booster (even though the whole world knows he's Bruce Wayne).
Also, Selina is back to being deserving of a ship I support here. Cat + Bat 4eva!
Starro the Conqueror is a bit of a ridiculous idea/character...but I'm super excited for Vol. 6!

Only one the best Elseworld series DC comics is publishing currently. Its so sad that so many of the concepts and ideas Taylor is writing have not made their way into the main DC continuity. In this volume of the series the Titans and the Green Lanterns take center stage. The Green Lantern portion of this book was really good. Taylor definitely has a grasp of each character's unique voice. The pacing was handle pretty well in this volume too. I love the fact we get a brooding Hal Jordan that still feels like the Jordan we have come to love from Geoff Johns run. It will be interesting to see how the Lanterns and the Titans are able to resolve the threat of the Red Lanterns. The Booster Gold and Jaime Reyes relationship continues to be a welcomed dynamic to this story. I just continue to be blown away by how well this series is written. The artwork and colors are always really good as well. I hope DC comics will consider putting Taylor on a mainstream comic series like Titans, i think he would do a great job on a book like that or even other team books like Justice League, The outsiders or even the suicide squad.

April 9, 2023The first two issues detail the aftermath of Amazo's attack, and follow Athanasia as she breaks in to Wayne Manor. A solid, if predictable, continuation. Then we go to Oa and catch up with Hal Jordan, who is on trial by the Guardians. I love everything that plays out from this. Hal's guilt, Sinestro and Soranik, Red Lanterns, and a certain classic JLA villain wielding a power ring. Then Jaime Reyes, Booster Gold, and the Titans become involved. And Taylor once again gives Booster and Jaime so much heart. Booster also has the two best quotes in the book:
"Guys... we've crashed into the testosterone-fueled personification of the 1980s."
"You know what? Bats claims he has no powers, but that's shit. His superpower is filling his fellow heroes with crippling insecurities. Seriously, every single Robin gets a pair of tights and an inferiority complex."
I haven't played Injustice 2 and don't know what happens in the game. At times, this series seems like it's just adding on plotlines without a major destination in mind, but when the plotlines and character development is this good I don't care.

More Recruits Needed has been a fantastic arc, even though it bore very little relevance to the Injustice storyline itself. Hal Jordan is being sent to a prison camp to rebuild a civilization along with captured Sinestro. Oversaw by Sinestro's daughter Soranik, tension rose. Also on the menu was Atrocious seeking to destroy Ao with the help of Starro the Conqueror. For some reason, Blue Beetle Booster Gold and the Titans were also recruited to join the fight along with Lobo. Both Lobo and Sinestro were the highlights of this arc.
The next arc Return to Earth tried to tie everything up but didn't it well. Although the suicide squad storyline was rather interesting.

Still a very good volume however I felt like this one jumped a little too much to be a perfect 5. I'm liking Blue Beetle getting in on the action as I often feel he is under used character and has so much potential.
The lanterns will remain some of my favourite comic book arcs in DCs history so I enjoyed revisiting them in this volume. Hopefully Hal manages to forgive himself and become the lantern he should be once again.
Excited to see what's in store in the epic finale however I'm worried I'll won't want it to end.
