I was completely exhausted when I first laid eyes on him. I had been traveling, and for the last twenty-four hours, sleep had evaded me. I knew I looked terrible, and I was relatively sure I didn't smell so great, either. It was not the most ideal moment to make a first impression. On a normal day, I wouldn't be so torn up about it, but today was different. This was the day I met Taylor. He was a gentleman in every way. I was instantly taken aback by his vintage look and charm. It was almost like he had stepped out of the past.I would only be in Boston for two days before traveling again, and I was determined to get a second chance at a first impression.

I just finished reading it and I L-O-V-E-D, loved it! Brooke St. James is one of the very select authors on my short "Buy" list. I buy her books, sight unseen, as soon as they're released. St. James is a master at creating sexual tension. I had excited little butterflies fluttering in my stomach in anticipation for 3/4 of the book.
The two main characters felt like my friends after reading only a couple of chapters. The heroine, Blue, is adorable. So is her rock-star dad, for that matter! The hero, Taylor, is swoony. Their chemistry together is explosive!
My gosh this author can't write fast enough for me. I loved this story, the hotels and the wonderful characters. I especially loved the chemistry between these two. This is a really sweet romance that is tasteful.
Characters are very realistic with very probable situations. The book flows well and the language used is commendable and clean. It is nice to have something to read without profanity. And of course the romance makes life a bit better. Thank you Brooke.
This is a beautiful and outstanding breathtaking and heartwarming story with adorable and charming characters that will steal your heart and leave you wanting more.
I don’t think I’ve read a book this G rated since junior high……
The Suite Life is about Blue Stone. Her father is Alec Stone, famous rock star. Blue travels the world with her dad and doesn’t have much of a social life her own. Upon arriving to a hotel in Boston, she meets Taylor Patterson. Taylor is doing what I would call an audit of the hotel – checking to see where improvements could be made. But the staff kept calling him their boss. But he wasn’t employed there. Anyway….
They meet and hit it off. So much so they can’t stop kissing. That’s the extent of the relationship intimacy we get in this book. Kissing.
Very quickly after meeting, they are in love and get married. All in the span of a few months. All the while, just kissing….
Ok, I’m being a jerk, but come on. Meanwhile, when we hear from Taylor (I think he got like 2 chapters total) his story is told in the third person, where Blue’s was told in the first person. I found that to be an odd writing choice.
There was also a ton of gushing in this book. Gushing over Alec the rock star, gushing over Taylor the real estate genius. It was very over the top and got old quite quickly.
I didn’t really like this one much, and I would say skip it.
I’ve been a big fan for ages. This newest addition has all the fun, lighthearted, and sweet chemistry I’ve come to expect from her books. This looks to be the start of another great family series! I really hope we get to have Josh the doorman for a hero in one soon.
I love her books because she is quick to acknowledge GOd’s hand in all the things that happen. I also like that she writes in the same way that normal people talk. This was very nice love story.
While this book is not intense in the way the world views a love story it still has its own intensity. When love happens when you least expect it it's a beautiful thing.
This was a good read. Blue is traveling with her father. She meets Taylor who works at the hotel they are staying at. They hit it off right away and in the end they get their happy ending.
The Suite Life: The Family Stone Book 1 is by Brooke St. James. This book lives up to everything her other books does and it is fun to read. What is unique is it doesn’t read like her other books so you don’t compare her writing to this one until the end. She makes you love the characters immediately and wonder why they take so long to get together. She proves that love at first sight it possible. Blue Stone was an investor and the youngest daughter of Alec Stone, a rock and roll star of the past who still had millions of followers. When he was traveling, she tried to go with him or at least meet up with him somewhere on his tour. She helped him stay in touch with his other daughters and his ex-wife. However, they didn’t travel like Blue did. Right now, all she could think of was getting to the hotel and going to sleep. She had had a rough time getting here with plane delays, etc. When she got to the hotel, she met Taylor Patterson, who ran the hotel. In spite of her extreme tiredness, she was impressed with him. Over the next few days, her first impression of him was shown to be true. Even her Father was impressed with Taylor. Taylor had come up from nothing and had done it all on his own. Now he had written a book on hospitality and was a consultant to when into hotels and made better use of their assets and less of their downfalls. He loved what he was doing and planned to run his own hotel, which was in the process of being built, to treat it like his house and he was welcoming all the guest as his own personal guests. He treated the workers with care and grace and had tremendous loyalty from them. It was with caution that he looked at his relationship with Blue. He was mad about her but didn’t want her to interfere with his plans; but how could he live without her. Their lives, Blue’s Father’s life, was about to change as it gets closer to the opening of Taylor’s new hotel. The story is delightful and the characters are definitely realistic and life-like. It is a cute book.
Brooke St. James is one of my favorite authors, and The Suite Life is now my favorite book of hers!
I wasn't sure I'd like it because it shares the name of a TV show that I despise, but after the first chapter, when Blue Stone (youngest daughter of rock legend Alec Stone) meets Taylor Patterson (hotel consultant and hospitality expert) I was hooked. I spent the rest of the book waiting for their engagement. There was no annoying "I don't deserve him/her" angst and no former loves arriving unexpectedly to threaten their happiness. It was mostly the story of a courtship begun in a hotel elevator and consummated (off the page) in a hotel penthouse, and it was fascinating to witness. A parallel subplot involves the reconciliation of her divorced parents, but it takes a back seat to the primary love story, that of Blue and Taylor.
I fell in love with Blue, Taylor, Alec, Blue's sisters, her brother-in-law and nephew, and even Josh the doorman, who shows up in a surprise cameo near the end. Brooke St. James has the gift of creating characters and plots that draw you in, as well as locations that inspire you. Who knew that a hotel penthouse and a home office could be so elaborate and yet so functional?
I highly recommend this book to everyone... and I mean everyone!
... despite a slightly sedate start. Brooke St James does a wonderful job creating characters and families that are easy to care about and you want to spend time with. So even though the book spends a lot of time telling about a relatively simple relationship development story, I definitely look forward to all the possibilities and seeing where the author takes things.
My (relatively minor) gripes: I do get a little annoyed with the little time jump-then backtrack explanation thing that she sometimes does with a new chapter. It's hard to figure out what purpose she thinks it serves in furthering the story to begin a chapter with Blue saying they were married 2 hours ago, and then going over some of what happened anyway - why not just pick up there?
And Mrs St James, please stop having ALL your heroes call the heroine "baby girl". I am absolutely not a modern variety feminist, but that's an endearment typically used by a father to his daughter, & most guys wouldn't dream of sounding so patronizing in their affection. Sorry but having read & enjoyed so many of your books, I have to say that at this point it's one of those little things that, like a pebble in your shoe, increasingly grates
I love Brook St. James. Her books always give me a nice break from life and I love how things work out, they're clean, and I really enjoy the characters. That being said, I felt like the characters in this book weren't as developed. It's like saying a character is a good conversationalist and very smart, but there isn't any dialog or actions to back up the statement. It didn't make me dislike the characters though. Overall, the book was still very good, but I just didn't think this one was as developed as some of her other series. I will read book two though to see how things ended up and to learn more about there family.
I enjoyed reading about Blue and Taylor in the first book of the Family Stone series. Taylor is an author and self-made owner of a hotel being built in Beverly Hills. He is working as a consultant at the hotel in Boston where Blue and her father are staying. They have a chemistry and her father is also acting as a matchmaker for them. It is a cute and sweet romance.
I love all of Brooke St James' books. Thanks to No for I have them on mine. This feel good romance takes through some of the details of the hotel business. The emphasis on kindness and relationship is evident through out. We also see into the life of a rock star and his family. Of course there is a happy ending. Just what I love!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend that you read her other series as well. The Hunt family series as well as the Bishop family are two of my favorites. Honestly anything she writes is so exciting and all encompassing, it makes me want to be a part of the families.
This is an inviting novel to enjoy as Blue Stone, daughter of a rock star, is exhausted. She'd been travelling for 24 hours, and then she meets Taylor Patterson, a true gentleman. This is a wonderful story as their paths cross and love blooms. I'm putting this author on my favorite list. She's a great. Highly recommend.
This is what I call a true romance. No horrible drama, breakup, or nonsense....just a pure love story. The love between Blue and Taylor could be felt between the pages, my favorite kind of story. I can’t think of any woman who wouldn’t want someone like Taylor to love her. Excellent job
Not the first time I've read this but somehow missed reviewing it the first time. Blue and Taylor's story made me smile, I'm not sure if it was the chocolate chip cookies or the stairwell, but definitely a fun story. Clean romance with some quick chemistry and they seem to know quickly, but I think some love stories are like that.
