I have been curious about the idea of intermittent fasting since I have friends who have used it, so I was happy to get this book on the subject at a bargain price. It turns out to be more recipes than information on intermittent fasting. It gives you a few different schedules for fasting, and gives some very general advice on what to eat when you do eat, but not much on any scientific basis for trying it. That may be somewhat of a good thing, since so many diet books seem to be filling up pages with scientific explanations which may or may not be valid, but it still seemed a bit skimpy to me. As for the recipes, some sounded good, others didn't do much for me. Many of them either used ingredients which are difficult for me to get where I am currently living (central Spain), or had so many ingredients that they looked like more work than I would want to do on a regular basis. Still, I may try some of them out, and give a thought to the fasting idea.
In the chapter on Methods, there is 1., 2., then 5., then two more methods (?) not numbered. Very confusing!
Also, one of the methods is explained as being good for weight loss. Aren't all the methods good for weight loss? Isn't weight loss one of the main reasons for intermittent fasting and the point of the book? Is one method better than the other?
Minimal information to take away from this work. Not keto friendly. Most recipes border on the exotic. I doubt most people have quail eggs or fish heads on hand as well as many other unusual ingredients.
I have already started an intermittent fasting even before I read this book, but this helped me understand more about the different ways to fast , and also the benefits of each method. The recipes are also easy to prepare. I recommend this.
