Welcome to Madame Allegria’s, where your Krave will satisfy your every desire…
At 25-years-old, unmarried, and untouched, Eve Tesler is an outcast in the Everton colony’s society. Loneliness plagues her daily life and fearing that will she never know true intimacy, she does something uncharacteristically reckless: she pays the steep price for an unforgettable night with one of the Krave, legendary alien lovers with unparalleled skills and non-human abilities in the bedroom. Only, she never expected him…
When Khiva’s home planet was destroyed during the Great War, his race scattered among the stars and survived any way they could…including selling their infamous ‘services’ for credits. Now, residing and working at Madame Allegria’s elite brothel on a human colony, Khiva’s only goal is to earn enough for passage off Everton. But when a beautiful, lonely human female visits him one night...everything changes. Suddenly, he craves her with an intensity that should frighten him while her lush curves drive him to madness.
It was supposed to be only one night, but Eve finds she can’t stay away from her mysterious and forbidden alien lover…even if she has to pay for him.
Zoey Draven has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. Her love affair with the romance genre started with her grandmother's old Harlequin paperbacks and has continued ever since. As a Top 100 Amazon bestselling author, now she gets to write the happily-ever-afters—with a cosmic, otherworldly twist, of course!
When she's not writing, she's probably drinking one too many cups of coffee, hiking in the redwoods, or spending time with her family.

I liked it enough to continue the series, but I’m not sure I’ll remember it in time.
Evelyn lives a stagnant life. At the ancient age of 25, she is considered “past her prime.” When she hears about the Krave, beings who are known for their sexual prowess, she decides to do something out of character and visit a brothel.
With nothing left after his home is destroyed, Khiva has been working at Madame Allegria’s brothel for nearly ten years. He saves what meager credits he’s allotted and endures horrific abuse in the hopes of finding his family. He never expected to find a meaningful connection with a client, but when sweet Evelyn enters his room, he finds passion he’s never known.
Zoey Draven is brilliant, and I’ll read anything (and everything) she drops. Kraving Khiva is no exception to her long list of great works. It’s a quick read with plenty of angst, spice, and (annoying) pride.
One of my favourite tropes - the client and the sex worker. Pretty Woman introduced me to this trope and Evangeline Collins pretty much sealed the deal. I love this trope. I think I actually came across Zoey Draven's Krave series before the Horde Kings, as I stumbled upon Krave when I was looking for books with this trope. At the time, I dismissed it because I wasn't looking for sci fi stories.
As my point of reference is Horde Kings, Kraving Khiva felt contemporary. Not epic. There was more smut that happens early on, and it feels like it happens frequently, given the page count is 200 or so pages.
Draven excels at the taunting heat of slow burn romance (a glance, a kiss, a heated argument or vulnerable conversation), but she can also write smut. I prefer her style of slow burn, as the angst can be so delicious. However, focus here is on smut. Everyone behaved like sensible adults, so not much of an emotional pull. Overlooked heroine with inner strength and values and a dominant hero that needs to learn his pride doesn't matter if he can make her happy. Of interest, hero is an alien race with teela, and this is seed that has aphrodisiac qualities if it's on the person that can, well, wear a person out.
Back in the days before I started ereading, a big motivator for getting on board with the trend were Futuristics or SciFi romances as they are called now. I loved them lo those many years ago but then they just seemed to dry up and I couldn’t find any new ones. But! They were available as ebooks so I knew, even though at the time I said I’d never be able to give up print books, I knew I’d be getting into ebooks sooner rather than later.
And this book, THIS book is one of the reasons why. I adored it. It’s everything this genre should be. It takes place in a universe completely different from ours with oodles of fascinating characters. Eve Tesler is our heroine. She lives in kind of a backwards time for women. Finding a husband is one of the more important things a woman can do but Eve is different. She was left an inheritance by her beloved father and doesn’t need a husband. Add to that she’s somewhat awkward around men and her chances of finding a husband aren't looking too great. But she wants to experience what happens between a man and a woman and she hears about a ‘pleasure’ place where the “pleasure masters” are from a different race and are apparently simply superb about that they do. She gathers her courage and goes to see one of them. She is given Khiva to tutor her in the “pleasures of the flesh”. But unlike most other women, she sees Khiva as a real person, not just a means to an end and she finds him captivating. In turn Khiva finds Eve unique in that she lets him be in charge and treats him as simply a man with thoughts and feelings and a history of his own.
And Khiva is so much more as we learn. He became a whore, for lack of a better word when his planet was destroyed. He was almost royalty where he came from and it destroys his pride at what he is now forced to do. And forced he is. In truth he is nothing better than a slave and Eve is horrified when she finds out what the real truth is. By this time she and Khiva have fallen very deeply in love. She works to free him and his fellow “Krave” the name they are known by, but Khiva thinks it’s a hopeless cause with no way out of his own hell.
I loved both these characters. Their love for each other is very poignant and it’s almost a case of star crossed lovers. They are so well written if one is an emotional type reader like I am, we feel their pain, especially Khiva’s.
One thing I must make note of, this book is extremely hot, much hotter than I’m used to. Even though I live alone, I swear I was blushing while reading it. I very often skim over the sex scenes but I didn’t with this one. They were very well written and well, very, very steamy.
I don't want to give anything away but this one gets a giant thumbs up from me.
Sooooo I just bingeread this entire series. Like I was up until 2 am reading it. And I have so many thoughts.
The entire series was a 5/5 for me. Every book, the whole thing, the whole premise, all of it. I freaking loved it so much. It has actually renewed me wanting to read the Luxiria series. This whole thing was just... chef's kiss.
I could not stop reading. God I really hope there's more. I want a Book 5 at least, for the love of God. Maybe even a book 6. Lowkey I want Eve's friend to end up with the one who book 5 could be about... I don't want to spoil anything, so just going to leave it at that.
I want more. I love Zoey Draven's works so much. This was... Amazing.
1) the H is a wh*re that sleeps with different women every night. I understand his line of work but it still bothered me he slept with others AFTER sleeping with the h.
2) the H is not the most alpha despite how the author describes him. He’s not dominant at all.
3) I couldn’t connect with either main character. I think I enjoyed the h less than H.
I absolutely loved this book 🥰 I loved Khiva and Eve.. I loved the whole story… and the alien teela(sperm),well that was different lol, (give me some teela any day) 😜
Eve lives in Everton, a closed earth colony, but she doesn't fit in. She is 25 years old and still a virgin because she isn't tall and willowy with blonde hair! No, she is curvy with dark brown hair. She is wealthy enough to be made over into the norm but is comfortable with herself as she is. She would like to meet someone, marry and have children but has accepted that it is highly unlikely. Khiva is a Keriv'i. His home world Keru was destroyed in the Great War and he and all the remaining Keriv'i are wandering and lost in the universe. He, and three friends, were brought to Everton by Madame Allegria to work in her brothel. The Keriv'i can control their bodies so that they are always ready for a woman. They also have semen that keeps a woman on the brink of climax for hours. Needless to say, Khiva and his friends are extremely popular and extremely expensive. Evelyn learns about Madame Allegria while out with a friend and decides that she will pay the exorbitant fee in order to lose her virginity and experience the act of lovemaking for herself. But mostly she just wants to be touched. So it begins for both Eve and Khiva. They find love but where can it go? Madame Allegria is a dark and ruthless character who controls her world. A very intense love story.
I don't really know how to rate this book. I mostly liked the MCs and the spicy scenes were nice but the premise was so much darker than anticipated.
--- mild spoilers ---
The male escort trope can be really interesting and fun to read (f.i. The Kiss Quotient) but in this book the male MC was no mere sex worker but instead a glorified sex slave. Throughout the book the fMC did make her concerns about the situation clear but I feel like the plot still glossed over how disgusting the whole brothel situation was. I don't really understand why it was necessary for Madame whatsherface to be the most stereotypically abusive pimp one could think of. Reading the scenes with the mMC and her was revolting and I couldn't enjoy the romance aspect of this story that came after any longer. I feel like it could have been made more obvious that this story featured these dark topics (there are no TWs). If it hadn't been for this (unnecessarily) dark plot point this book would've made an enjoyable alien smut read.
This book was a lot deeper than I was expecting it to me, delving into the complexities of corrupt governments and organizations. Eve is a virgin 25 year old and decides she wants a “krave” to be her first. As such, it deals with dub con. I appreciated that Eve attempted to ensure consent after she started understanding what was going on behind the scenes. Eve took loneliness to a new level and I wish there would have been some true friendship for her rather than only a love interest. Khiva was a traumatized MMC that seemed to spend most of his time dissociating from his reality. They both had loneliness and grief, which allowed them to relate more to one another past the attraction.
The spice in the book was creative but also slightly terrifying. I felt like there was a massive missed opportunity close to the end of the book to shake things up, but it was still an acceptable conclusion.
Spice: 4/5 - high spice, 30-40% of story involves spice.
SFR series where the hero is a Kerev’i prince turned sex worker in Everton, a human colony and meets the heroine is a virgin who hears a lot about the Krave, the amazing alien sex workers. One thing leads to another and of course she decides to lose her virginity to Khiva. I liked their chemistry and it’s very sexual, I just wished there was some positive female relationships or something that built up the world beyond the romance. It felt a little insular. The situation the hero finds himself in is pretty horrible and there could have been more explored, but it didn’t happen, at least not in this book. Also didn’t realize it’s more of a duet than a standalone, though there’s no big cliffhanger and there is enough of a resolution to this tale that I could just stop here. But I’m a completist so I’ll probably read the next one.
Interesting take on males being the ones in a brothel. I enjoyed this but found that it didn't keep my attention span the way that I wanted. I will still read more from this series and author.
I love a good alien romance, and I especially love a good alien romance from Zoey Draven! I always love getting love in her worlds and the unique characters she creates
This is basically a human woman living on a space colony meets an alien male, who is working at a brothel and falls in love. He's from a destroyed planet and no longer has a home, so does not feel like he has a lot of options or hope.
I enjoyed how these Eva and Khiva have an emotional connection right off the bat- in a scenario where they meet at a brothel, their relationship is always about more than sex. They understand each other and feel a pull to each other, and are quite adorbs
The Heroine here is "untried" then her friend, standards, and society began to pile up to pressure her into figuring what the fuss is about but she knows its going to be painful on her first time so she sets out to get the absolute b-e-s-t! And I mean, like the good stuff beyond wildest imaginings. That's how she ended up in an expensive brothel for some..
But she's ridiculously shy, honest, and incredibly earnest. When the Hero meets the heroine for the first time, he quickly realizes she is out of her element. But he was incredibly sweet, thoughtful and patient. Their dynamic was wonderfully sincere and hot. They went at it slow at first, and you can really get into the Heroine's head to the point that I started rooting for her.
But the Hero's job gets in the way of their love especially after realizing the hidden unsavory factors going on under that brothel.
This is insta-love, btw. And the way the plot moved forward was cheesy familiar tropes but I didn't care because the way this written was gloriously creative. I was really happy to see the characters get their happy ending on the second book.

There are so many sad parts to this story. There are so many roadblocks standing in their way. Yes, you will Kry..... And It will make you Krazy.... This is one of the best books of any Kind that I've read all year! Highly recommend!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
'The walls were lined in a red, sinful velvet. Eve reached out to touch it. The rasping softness glided over her sensitive fingertips, and she shivered, swallowing the thick lump in her throat.'
Shamelessly giving this 5 stars because I absolutely didn't realize what this premise was, was initially confused, and then quickly got swept up into the personalities of the characters, the attention to detail in realistic ways on the emotional side, and the interesting world-building. However, only detract is this really didn't seem as alien as I've realized I prefer in alien-romance genres AND the weird spunk powers were . . . weird.
I have liked this other author's series but the premise of this I was not so keen on. The heroine is a bit of a loner so is inexperienced in the world of men but the Hero is enslaved in a brothel, so he is with many. There are no details of anyone other than the Hero and heroine and it is tastefully handled but I was not keen It is well written. It has the mate connection and he is totally devoted to her and is not in the brothel of his own choice. Lots of potential for other characters stories.
This story touched on a very heavy topic of sex trafficking. It went through a whole rainbow of emotions. What happens when a sex slave, in a brothel, and client falls in love? How does the slave cope with shame and unworthy feelings? What about the "client" when they find out that the person they pay to see is a prisoner and slave? Will their love endure? So many heavy emotions in this story.
In all seriousness, this was a good book. The plot is solid, the spice for me was SPICIN’ (alien jizz that triggers unending org*sms? WHERE DO I SIGN), and the couple was super cute.
I’m not entirely sure how to rate this book because Evelyn and Khiva’s story isn’t finished in this book.
I liked Evelyn and Khiva and the time that they spent together. Understandably, they didn’t spend much time together which is why I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series which will also be about them.
The plot was fine, but not much really happens as at first Evelyn doesn’t know about Khiva’s situation and then when she finds out, he’s resistant and the book ends with him finally agreeing.
I liked this book, but I hope that the next book will be better. I want to see more of Evelyn and Khiva spending time together, what their lives look like now, and I really want to see other characters. Even though there were some side characters they didn’t really have personalities, so I hope that if the other Krave see Evelyn and Khiva again, there will be more scenes with them getting to know each other and doing things together.
Although the premise of this book is promising and I liked a lot of the world building that the author added, it left a bit to be desired. I would have liked to see more of a resolution to the obstacles the characters were facing in this book, especially because it isn't limited to just Evelyn and Khiva. I will be reading the second book to see if this gets resolved completely, but I felt as if the author could have extended the length of this book to include it all and the novel would have been better for it.
Kraving Khiva does, however, have some solid spice if that's what you're looking for. I also enjoyed learning some of the history of Khiva's people, the Keriv'i. I just felt the book could have used a little more fleshing out and a more resolute ending.
I think it's fair to say that I love everything that Zoey Draven writes! I went into this one blind, so the brothel aspect threw me off guard- BUT! this was a really good example of humanity taking advantage of others (and their own). I adored that Eve took her fate into her own hands, and that she grappled with her own choices. I also love that she gave Khiva the courage to seek his own freedom and happiness. Will definitely be continuing the series!
Just keep in mind that this book does deal with some serious topics, and may not be for everyone.
