Project Collage is packed with great ideas for creating eyecatching collages, with 50 step-by-step projects to inspire you
Cut it, stick it, twist it!
Collage is the art of reinvention. This magical and tactile process invites you to collect, experiment, combine and transform. These creative mashups don't require specialist equipment, only everyday materials. It is an art form for everyone and every budget.
From striking architectural builds to taxidermy ensembles, this book offers lots of fresh ideas and guidance to help you cut and paste your way to creating your own unique artwork.
I skim through a lot of art making books, but I have to say this one was more inspiring and instructive than most. Already a fan of collage, Speight gave such a wide range of examples and prompts that my appreciation of collage artists increased. I am recording this book, because I would definitely come back to it if I ever dive deeper into collage. ***Note to self: collage artists copy and resize materials to create the collage they want.
There are some really amazing ideas in this book. There is no coverage of supplies like some other books, but I don't need that kind of info. This book is a purely ideas book with some step-by-step info for each of the 50 projects. The projects are broken down into different categories like surreal, spaces (really cool category with cutting the shape of hands on a face, hole punching on a face, and confetti collage), pattern, texty, and many more. I'm very excited to try these out soon!
Loved it! Fab book brimming with ideas and inspiration. Easy to follow. Gorgeous to dip in and out of, with beautiful images. Great for the beginner and even the more advanced collage tragic would be hard pressed not to find something new, wonderful or inspirational.
Interesting book but dated for 2022. The author was a well-experienced artist when she wrote this book. I plan to add my copy to the books I use in my mixed media projects. Perhaps I'll turn it into a sketchbook for myself.
