The Book of Revelation

Rate this book
The Book of the Revelation contains outlined studies of the last book of the Bible. In his introduction, Strauss says, “Genesis is the book of commencement; Revelation is the book of consummation.” The author identifies three distinct systems of interpretation of Revelation―The Preterist School, The Presentist School, and The Prophetic School. Subscribing to the latter, Strauss holds that the largest part of the Book of Revelation is prophetic, and thus it applies to a period still future.

I recall listening to Dr. Lehman Strauss on the radio from Biola University, I believe, in the 1970s. What a great teacher! While we differ on some interpretations of Revelation, his cautious commentary is thorough and informative and reflects his great love for our Lord and His Word. This is a solid commentary that would serve the teacher of the Word well. His convictions for Premillennialism are well documented and proven through Scripture. His style is easy to read and lacks the fluff of modern writers who must constantly insert themselves into the Biblical narratives. Excellent.
