So everything goes along quite predictably until the author chooses to throw a wrench into the works. In terms of the relationship, this wrench was quite a large one and I wasn't sure that I agreed with how Sammara dealt with it. Firstly, she called Kyle while he was deployed and told him how upset she was. I don't think that was smart cos it might have caused him to worry and be distracted when he'd need all his concentration to avoid being killed in a war zone. Secondly, although she was bothered, she didn't seem to need to take any time to herself to process her feelings or to get over her hurt. After she calls Kyle, the chapter ends, and at the beginning of the next chapter she's having sex with Briggs and Ryan. So, no dealing with the feelings of betrayal, no talking about them other than telling Kyle she was upset, no asking for space... it was unnatural. And then Kyle comes back and suddenly everything is okay and she's no longer angry and has forgiven him!

It really did seem like she was mostly thinking with her snatch. Things with her business partner aren't going well and there are several indications that everything is not as it should be. Each time she stumbles onto something questionable, she's too tired to delve into it, but the next day, when she's no longer too tired to deal with it, she's too busy having sex to think about it. She just keeps letting things slide, and I'm sorry to side with her shady business partner, but I agree that Sammara was a horrible business owner. I just had no respect for her at all. She was not on top of things, and she did not care enough to be on top of things.

She knew something was fishy and that her business partner was behaving oddly, but never investigated, hardly even questioned her business partner, and just took things at face value. Later, we find out that her business partner has been skimming from their shared bank account and putting in false requisitions. This tells me that Sammara doesn't even pay enough attention to the bank statements to notice that she's being robbed! She didn't check the statements or try to reconcile them and match them to the invoices or purchase orders. I mean, yes, you trust your business partner, but there are some things that you still should check personally, like financials.

Also, it's always nice to take revenge but leaving a note was not smart. It was also not smart, the way the business was set up. Why on earth wouldn't it be in joint names if she had been in a partnership? Why would everything just be in her business partner's name? What planet is she living on?? And all the insistence on wanting to be independent and do her own thing suddenly vanishes into thin air when the guys rent her a warehouse. She was inconsistent. One moment she's capable and passionate about interior decoration and house restoration, the next moment, she's an airhead who happily leaves most things in her business partner's hands. And we can't even say she did that because she avoids confrontation, since she doesn't avoid confrontation with the guys!

And that whole thing with Briggs was just weird. She's shaken and scared, he has suddenly appeared when she had least expected it, and then two minutes later they're boinking. Granted, she has heard about him from the other guys, but she doesn't know him from Adam. She was really thinking with her snatch, this woman. One last thing! Birth control was never discussed, or were STDs, but right from the start they're all coming in her, ungloved. I was like ewwwww no!

2nd time reading
I've this book twice this year so it must be good! I forgot some of what happened and wanted to reread before starting book two and I'm glad I did. Krista Wolf is the queen of reverse harem and her books are so much fun to read.
Sammara is a fun character, she's strong and capable and stands up for herself. She matches the guys well, they're strong and want to protect her but also know that she can handle some things on her own. I also envy her position to restore the Victorian house with unlimited funds!

The guys are my favorite part of the book. Kyle and Dakota are sweet and fun, Ryan is daring and serious, and Jason can pretty much do anything he wants. They all work together well and fit with Sammara perfectly. I loved their relationship and the chemistry was great.

The action was a bit random throughout the book, but I did like that it kept the story moving. I'm so excited to read the sequel!

**************************************

Very steamy and lots of fun!

This was so much fun to read. The guys are strong, alpha males who know what they want and care for Sammara completely. Dakota was my favorite, so playful and cute. Kyle was mischievous, Ryan was broody, and Jason is fierce. The guys were great and I loved seeing inside their heads. The romance was constant and well done and the side plots gave the story depth and intrigue.
Fun, easy read that was everything I wanted it to be.

I will probably be a minority here, but this book, even though it was first decent RH book I read for a long time, felt a little flat.

It was steamy enough, don't get me wrong, but that was actually the only good thing about this book :/

So starting with MFC - she was something... I didn't love her.. I'm not even sure if I liked her but I didn't hate her either so there is that... she anoyed me a little, but I cannot put my finger on why exactly... sometime she was just TSTL, sometimes just too insta... I dunno... maybe just not my cup of tea

Then come the MMCs... and srsly? SRSLY??? two of them was decent (Brigs and Ryan) but Kyle and Dakota? Those two was acting like they were just replacing girl from their past... I cannot even count how many times this Erika girl was mentioned, how good it was with her, how crazy, how amazing and adventurous Erika was... over and over again! And because she left them they were looking for... someone similar (yes it was mentioned in the book).. you two f*ckers! Having new girl in your house and you get decriptive story about how good it was to have this previous girl shared between them?. yeah no... it was huge turn off for me, especialy whem MFC started to mentioned her in her monologs as well... imho she is not in their past...

The plot - there was some plot... but it was so unimportant that scenes connected with it seems like episodes from another book... didn't add anything to the book...

Development - there was no development in MCs or in their relationship.. they were just adding new d*ck into the picture with time...

All in all for the hot scences and two really likeable 2 Heroes 3 stars... I'm not gona reach for the second one though :)

Sammara hasn’t had the best luck with love but when she meets Kyle and sparks fly. When she learns he wants to share with the three other Rangers she decides to learn more about them. What will happen when sparks fly and can these sexy men keep her from danger? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and lots of steam. I liked it.

Despite the super cheesy cover and title, I decided to pick this up because The Christmas Toy was surprisingly good, and I wanted to see if the author's other works were camparable. Unfortunately, I found this one to cause just too many eyerolls, and it was just as cheesy as the cover suggested. I did like the setup and beginning of the story, it just didn't work out as good as I had hoped.

Sammara is a stereotypical pixie-dreamgirl archetype heroine. She's overly sweet, never questions anything, and basically just flits around her world claiming she's tough and strong while coming across as incrediblely naive and needing to be rescued. All she basically does is prove that even Mary Sues can enjoy a double P. (Not sure how she handles it without lube, though)

description

The guys were alright, but unlike in The Christmas Toy where all the heroes felt unique and different, these were just like two sets of twins. Kyle and Dakota were basically the same guy, and the same for Briggs and Ryan.

There's also very little character or relationship development. In fact, the heroes spend a bit too much time comparing Sammara to their past relationships, which I didn't like. She felt more like a stand in or a prop than an actual girlfriend. The book instead focuses on a completely cheesy and unbelievable black market weapons selling plot that didn't really make sense and was just plopped in there at random times so Sammara could be rescued again. And the NSA computer program to find a woman who would be ok dating four men was just ridiculously bizarre.

If you just want some smut, I guess this is ok, but if you need an interesting story to go with it, I would try something else. I'm still interested in trying other books by the author to see if I can find another I like as much as 'The Christmas Toy'. This just isn't it.

Outstanding military quadruple ménage, romantic suspense. Four Rangers want one girlfriend to share in every way. Sammara is an interior designer/restoration specialist who is disappointed with relationships. Kyle, Jason, Dakota and Ryan are all fit and want someone to come home to. The story gets steamy and hot but it also has a good storyline. There is intrigue, suspense and all the difficulties of soldiers being deployed. Ms. Wolf did a wonderful job developing the characters. I received a complementary copy via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future stories by Ms. Wolf.

I think I’ve listened to this reader before. She has a lovely voice, but hasn’t ditched the NYC accent and it definitely detracts. For example, him is two syllables. The male reader had to cover four characters and he just read. Down tone. Up tone. No deviation. Just reading.

Beyond that the story was pretty good, considering all the sex. “It filled me from within.” I really should hope so. Since it was IN you.

Best get backatcha for a villain I’ve read in centuries. Or seems like. Most books don’t really to want to go there. They just let the heroine “move on” without any revenge. This chick went there, and she had major back up. It was glorious.

And random sentence:

I’d been going there ever since I were a little girl.

There’s a sequel. I’ve got it queued up.

In this reverse harem romance, the narrative unfolds with a single protagonist navigating a labyrinth of relationships. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from steamy encounters to moments of delightful craziness. Within the fun, the narrative also delves into more serious aspects of love, offering a well-rounded exploration of the characters' connections. The reverse harem dynamic adds a layer of complexity, making it a compelling read for those seeking a fresh take on the intricacies of romantic relationships.

I received a free ARC of this novel via Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. That being said, my opinion is my own.

This is another good read by Ms Wolf. The sex scenes are totally hot as usual. For me the plot was intriguing enough to keep me reading. The male leads were hunky and sexy as all get out. It was what I expect from this author. I think it was a bit too expected and that's why I only gave it four stars instead of five.

Nothing in this book is believable, but we don’t read romance for realness right?
So looking over the ridiculous amount of things that was just so wrong in this book, like, how the military works at all, it was a cute story.
It’s a safe romance, lots of basic spice but nothing really exciting.
The male narrator on the audio book is slightly unbearable, he sounds like a robot honestly.

Too entertaining! A wonderful look at the lives of constantly deployed soldiers ( very realistic) and possible menage relationships ( not so realistic) but incredibly fun. Just wish the guys were developed better.

UNEXPECTED BUT VERY GOOD!

Wow does not cover it! This was such a great book. A definite romance between our main female character and the four main male characters.

With the addition of the drama and suspense, it made this fast paced read feel as though you are a part of the action.

As this quad grows closer as they learn to love and become a family, you just want to fall in love with them all.

Of course it all ends with a sweet HEA.

(the steam is out of the stratosphere)

I'm kind of jealous of our heroine, Samarra. Not only is she dating four hot Army Rangers at the same time, she also gets nearly unlimited funds to fix up their large, crumbling Victorian. The characters are likable (except for the ones that aren't supposed to be), the sex scenes are smoking hot, and there is more plot to it than that (though not a whole lot of it). I would have liked more depth to the characters and their relationships, but all in all Quadruple Duty was a fun book to read.

! Fin super-heureuse garantie.

SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I liked this book. It started out with a thorough and interesting plot. I liked the characters and I was extremely intrigued.

Sammara- I liked her. She was strong and independent, but not overly so to the point of stupidity. She could survive by herself, but she could also admit that she wanted company. However, there were many times throughout this book that I felt she was stupid and I rolled my eyes at more than a couple of her decisions. She let some people take advantage of her and blindly listened to their excuses for why they were doing so. This was an extremely annoying aspect of her character.

Kyle- I immediately liked his character. I really enjoyed the way he and Sammara met and I adored their relationship. Kyle had a personality that was compelling and I thought he was a really good, stand-up guy.

Dakota- I don't personally feel like his character was flushed out enough. All I really know about him is that he is the all American, country boy. Besides that, I felt like he wasn't really given any personality. I felt like he was one of the most underdeveloped characters.

Ryan- I felt like Ryan was the most developed out of the male characters. There was a large portion of the book that was dedicated to his character development as well as his relationship development with Sammara. Ryan started off as an asshole and we see a steady progression of his character. Even with all the time spent developing his character though, I didn't connect with him. He was an asshole to Sammara because he wanted to be, not because of any legitimate reason.

Briggs- When the book first started, I was really interested in Briggs. He was this enigma for the majority of the book and I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for him to show. When he finally did, it was extremely anti-climactic and nothing like I expected it to be. Briggs and Sammara have sex minutes after meeting each other and it felt really cheap. Sammara was immediately head over heels for Briggs and there was nothing in the book to show why she would be. Their relationship felt insta-lovey to the max and I hated it because their relationship had a lot of potential.

What I Liked- I liked the premise for this book and thought that it was unique. I also liked the central message behind it. I never really thought about how hard it is for veterans themselves when they come home and what the strain of being deployed does to a family. This book showed me that and I thought the foundation of this book was really thought out and it resonated with me. I think this quote summarizes it perfectly:
“See, that’s the thing about being deployed,” said Kyle. “For you, ‘home’ is frozen in your mind. Everything remains the same. But for the people you leave behind? Life goes on. Things change. Feelings change.”

This was the key message behind this book and it makes me really emotional to think about it.

What I Didn't Like- This book was entirely too long. There were many scenes that could have been cut out and I had to force myself to push through them. In fact, the last 50 pages or really had no impact on the story and honestly, it felt like the story was being dragged out just to be dragged out. I like a thorough plot/backstory, but there is such a thing as too thorough which this book certainly was.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I think Krista Wolf is a great author and I really think she came up with a unique plot for this book. I just think it could have been skimmed down by a hundred pages and it would have been better. Or, instead of developing unnecessary plots, she could have developed some of the characters (Like Briggs and Dakota) and their relationships more.

I’ve read a few reverse harems now, and this one is the best of the bunch so far. I think it goes without saying that you need to suspend disbelief a little with this trope (for those not in the know, reverse harem is one female, three or more males, and they only have sex with her, not each other – but there can be more than one man at a time), but if you do, you’ll find them enjoyable when done right.

Sammara meets Kyle, a hot Army Ranger, at a bar after her blind date doesn’t show. She’s instantly attracted to him, but he’s honest with her up front: he and his three closest Ranger friends live in a mansion they pooled their money to buy, and they’re looking for a wife. To share. Since their work has them all over the world at any given time, they are not able to cultivate a relationship like a normal person, so they agreed to find one open-minded woman to share.

Sammara, who runs an interior design business with her friend Dawn, is intrigued by the prospect. She agrees to go to the lakeside house and meet the other three guys after she has sex with Kyle. When she gets there, Dakota is friendly and warm, but Ryan is cold and wary. He suspects she’s more interested in the redecoration of the house than she is in being in a serious relationship with them. Briggs is on a mission, nowhere to be seen.

She imposes a one week no sex rule while she gets to know each one of them. She allows kissing, which Kyle shamelessly takes advantage of (because she didn’t specify where), and they go on dates and do the things couples who are getting to know each other do. Meanwhile, Sammara is also dealing with her business partner, who seems to be up to something.

Once the week is over, Sammara is having sex with both Kyle and Dakota – sometimes alone, sometimes with the both of them at the same time. Ryan takes a lot longer to warm up to her, but eventually he comes around and sex with him is completely different.

Briggs doesn’t show up until much later in the book, because he apparently does special ops for the Rangers, and her sex with him is hottest of all – they’ve only just met before they’re in the shower together. Eventually, Sammara realises she loves the arrangement as much as the guys do, and they agree to make it permanent. Yes, there is a scene at the end where she’s with all four of them at once.

What I did like is that the author made Sammara’s relationship with each man different, and took the time to build something there. If you don’t like sex scenes with multiple partners, this book is not for you, but if you want to try a reverse harem, then this is a good one to kick off with.

SAMMARA is a young woman waiting for a date set up for her. Only she;s been waiting for almost a half hour and trying to figure outhow much longer she should wait. Then the man at the next table starts talking to her. Kyle is there waiting for his date which has her surprised because of how hunky he is. They prepare to leave together when her date shows up and she still leaves with Kyle. Getting alot of kisses, which make her brains scramble, out of the way he shows her an ad he and his friends ran and the reason he was at the restaurant. She takes his cell and sends herself the info and still sharing her number with him. The next day he shows up. The day after Kyle, Ryan and Dakota show up to take her to their place at the lakeside. She is definitely interested in the guys and their unusual ad but also intrigued with the old house. She talks to the guys and decides she'll give them a week of her time as they get to know each other. After that week, her life takes on a surrealistic feel as she becomes closer to the guys. Then she is placed in danger by an enemy of theirs. Now life gets more complicated.
Oh my goodness! My heart is still racing from this story. One huge fantastic story with alot of things going on both physical and emotional. Lots of secrets and lots of love.
A fantastic book to read!!

Gullible and immature girl mistakes list for love.

The reader is supposed to believe that the female lead is feisty, strong willed and can look after herself. What I read was the opposite. She was obviously a nymphomaniac who took advantage of a unique opportunity.

She was used like a blow up doll and she didn't have the brains to realise that. She could not distinguish that list is different to love. Even when the fourth so called boyfriend arrived on the scene much later on she didn't hesitate to get to know him, but got physical with him immediately. She reminded me of a blonde bimbo. She couldn't even keep an eye on her business partner!

It just read like four men taking advantage of a gullible, immature girl.

5 Times the Fun

I loved this book and so far my favourite Krista Wolf read. It engaged me from the start, it was funny at times and I loved the wit and development of each of the characters. The men were all different yet they had a unique bond for one another and for Sammara and she was a strong enough woman to handle each and every one of her men whether alone or all together. There are a few bad menage authors out there but Miss Wolf is not one of them. It’s refreshing to read an author who has an engaging story but is also committed enough to ensure there’s no spelling or grammar errors. Well done all round.

Quadruple Duty focuses on Sammara, a restorer/interior designer who is searching for the right guy. When she finds Kyle she thinks he might be it but he but he turns out to have some rather unusual baggage. The characters are well written and engaging although a lower sex/dialogue ratio would have been good. The subplots were interesting but were rather sparse, feeling sketched in rather than fully developed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book has so many twist and surprises some there predictable and other not.

The name Sammara fits the character so well, as she is both strong and beautiful inside and out.

This was a wonderful take on a soldier reverse harem, and the reason for it was both relatable and understandable.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased , honest review.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good RH and I can dig some military men.. but mehhh.

The h was kind of annoying for me. The H (×4) were pretty so-so. I guess I just didn't find anyone all that interesting.
