Story was lots of fun. Twisty plot with interesting characters. I will definitely check out the sequel.I love a well set atmosphere, and this one does a good job of making you feel like youre there. Good pacing, the tension seems to ramp up the further along you get. It was a fun and fast read. I recommend.

I was completely captivated with this book and couldn’t put it down. I devoured it. I hope there’s a second one in the works!

This book was pretty promising - I loved the premise and was really excited to see the historical details woven into the story. BUT. This was not a good read.
There were plenty of typos, misspellings, missing words, grammatical errors, and more.
The characters had promise, and a couple even had personality, but most were not very well developed.
And finally, there were some really graphic sex scenes, all of which were absolutely unnecessary for the story to progress. In fact, they felt like they were just thrown in because the author was feeling horny that day - they didn't make any sense to include and added nothing to the story. Phrases like "heaving bosoms," "heaving full breasts," and "cock and pendulous balls" were present throughout these scenes, which made them even worse.
Overall I don't recommend this book. The premise was interesting but the execution fell super short.

Should have read description

Ok the story line was pretty good. The characters were fleshed out. There were a few dialogues that needed proofing better. But if I had wanted to read graphic explicit sex scenes I could have read 50 shades of grey. Sorry but instead of enhancing the book it just put me off. They were just dropped in and more detailed than required for the story. Did have a good plot twist at the end..Sorry won’t read the others which is sad because they could have been fun.

Captivated by the Bayou

I truly enjoyed Queen of Swords! Engrossing read. I loved the setting/ world building. I enjoyed the language and vocabulary, effortlessly going between time periods. Sexy and alluring. There were twists and things I didn't see coming! Can't wait for the next one. Keep up the great work!

I really enjoyed this book. There are a few misspelled and incorrect words that need revision. I had to say that first because it surprised and bothered me. That being said, the story grabbed my attention and kept my interest. The twist to the mystery made for good read.

I know nothing about the South or voodoo, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this novel. But I like the way Jerry describes the environment he's pushed the characters into. I found it easy to be carried away. I look forward to the next book

Torture

This is the worst book I have ever read! How can you attempt to write and publish and not edit?

Haunted renovation

With suspicious characters seeking hidden emeralds. Who are the bad guys and who are the good guys?? And what the heck happened to the emeralds?

Started out really well. A bit confusing trying to follow the characters. Towards the end the mystery and supernatural became a little too farfetched.

A page turner from the very first! The author takes great pains to bring you onto the pages and into bayou country with his flourish for detail. The mystery soon reveals itself, but the answers don't become clear until the very end. It is intrigue at its best. With luck, we will have more from Jerry Lambert and hopefully more from this likable character, Georganne Blaylock!

Great plot twists!

As a former English teacher, typically fiction with predictable plots bores me to tears. Lambert has managed to captivate my curiosity and challenge my involvement with his characters and their actions through layers of revelation and plot twists that keep me journeying down the rabbit hole to find closure without being able to see around the corner. I loved the Southern settings and cultural influences as well. A worthwhile read!

Good read

While Jerry Lambert has told a good light hearted story you will have to keep your wits about you as you read it. The story is lacking a good editor and proofreader to tighten up the story and errors. Character names and actions changed from one sentence to the next. The characters and plot suddenly does an 180 turn in the middle stopping the flow and making story unbelievable. Revelations spring up anywhere throughout the story while helpful are either in the wrong place or too contrived to allow the story to work. As I say it's like a first draft that needs work but overall would be a fun read when 'finished'.
