It was so comical. “I don’t think you need to go to the bathroom alone,” I say leaning in close. “That woman may off you the first chance she gets. Possibly drown you in the toilet even.”
Open the door… Your creepy doorman is giving me the once over, and I don’t know if he’s about to call the cops or jump me. I prefer the cops by the way. I think he has more hair hanging out of his nose than I have on my cookie.

My Review:
This was a fun and steamy read. I adored this sweet and oh, so, sexy couple with their bawdy and sassy banter; they were well suited and smokin’ hot together. Written in my favorite dual POV, this richly entertaining story was laced with irreverent and clever humor, sizzling sensual scenes, and a generous usage of expletives. The characters were alluring and endearing, and the writing was smooth and engaging while well-balanced between humor, steam, and angsty tension. I am greedy with want for every word this naughtily witty scribbler produces.

Emerson was way too much of a doormat... for her dad of all people... for me to continue. Nicholas was amazing. He was patient and understanding and loving and hot and sweet and sexy and... and... and Emerson kept pushing him away because he deserved better. You're damn right he did!

What else can I say other that this was another great book by this amazing author, C.A. Harms :)
I've got to say that Nic and Emerson's chemistry was on fire here and very hot ;)
Now getting to the nitty gritty, both good/bad, this story is mainly about a young woman, Emerson, who's always done the correct thing dictated by her father, Hector, who really in my opinion and I bet you'll agree with me when you read this book, is a horrible human being and a despicable excuse of a father but anyways, Emerson decides to take a chance to be free of all inhibitions for one night and goes to the "Boy Toy Auction Charity" and that's where our girl meets the man that will save her from the misery that surrounds her, the loneliness that encompasses her soul, who heals her scarred heart, who shows her she is worthy of love and who makes her feel everything she's never felt before, safe and protected, Nic, our hottie homicide detective and let me tell you guys, that the sparks flew right on the spot ;)
Of course, these two don't have it easy at all... Emerson has obstacles which of course include her father and also her insecurities of not being enough for Nic and thinking she will ruin his life (which is how emotionally abused she was) but with a little help from her friends, Gianna and Spencer (who're a couple and I loved them so much too <3) and Nic's determination, even though there were times he had small hesitations/doubts but thankfully he got his head out of his rear and went to claim his woman 100%... not spoiling anything about that situation so go ahead and read this story because it will keep you fascinated like it did to me ;)
But what I can tell you is that after everything, Nic and Emerson along with Gianna and Spencer, who are the secondary characters of the story, all of them get their well-deserved happily ever after <3 <3

Get ready to SWOON over Nicholas Vaughn!!!! Oh, my goodness!!! Top book boyfriend material through and through! Right from the very beginning to the very last page, that man held my heart. A yummy detective with a heart of gold that’s also smoking hot? Yes, please!!! I’ll take two to go.
Emerson and Nic had an undeniable connection. One that even Em, deep down, couldn’t deny. The chemistry sizzled and the sex was explosive between them. Nic not only brought Em out of her shell, but he brought her to life in a lot of ways.
There is some drama along the way but that ending was surely EPIC. Love it.
Besides Nic and Em’s story being 100% amazing, I loved the secondary characters too. Gianna and Spencer were funny and sexy and I enjoyed reading about them just as much as I did Em and Nic.

BOOM!!! I find I say that a lot with CA Harms books..
I loved everything about this book so much that i only got 3 hours sleep. (My kindle died and I had to recharge it)
This book started out so funny between 2 best friends who have known each other for years. So close that Gia really tries her best to prove that Emerson is so much more then Hector Mansfield's daughter. Emerson really tries but as usual Gia wins and takes her to a fun filled night at an auction. That's all I'm saying about the story.
Just know that I am totally head over heels in love with this detective. He is everything a woman could want. He's hot, can be dominating but also sweet as all get out. In other words in my mond he is perfect

Oh Detective Vaughn, seriously this guy sounds super hot. Ex military, Detective with the Chicago PD, yes please. He's been offered up by his friends for a charity auction. Do these exist?!? Because I'm feeling awfully charitable. He meets Emerson and by the brief time they spend together he knows he'll never live up to Emerson's fathers expectations, however he pursues. Emerson doesn't have a backbone since living under her fathers thumb her whole life. When she meets Nic at the auction, he tilts her entire world. She sees life a bit differently and is loving every minute of it. Also, all good heroines need a sassy best friend and Ari is so funny. Absolutely zero filter and I loved it.

When the most gorgeous main character gets upstaged by his cat! I loved this book!
This year, I have challenged myself to review every book I read, and to make notes as I go through. Well this time, and I can’t explain why, Em and Nic’s story was one that I just had to get through in one sitting, and damn, I couldn’t break away from it. I was on a runaway train to the end.
What a sweet, hot, fun and fast-past romance it was. Add in Nic and Em, who were just beautiful together. CA Harms wrote them as amazing individuals who came together in this insta-love formula and made it work. The attraction was instant, yet they didn’t fall into bed together on the designated one night that Emerson had bought Nicholas for in a charity auction. We meet Homicide Detective Nicholas Vaughan and his friends as they get signed up as one night for sale in the name of charity, by their friend, who challenges them to see who fetch the highest price in the bidding war between the women who will pay for a one night date with them.
Emerson Mansfield appears to have everything. She’s gorgeous, intelligent, and works hard for her disgustingly rich father in his suite of hotels. But, underneath the facade, is a young woman who is treated like an indentured slave and postured as a bride for sale to men deemed as suitable management executives by her father, for his business. Encouraged by her best friend, the most unsuitable Gianna, Em fights off the competition and extensively outbids them.
I loved Gianna and her witty remarks. Emerson’s father doesn’t approve of her, and she doesn’t care. What she cares about is Emerson’s mental health and confidence. She keeps Emerson boosted and I love her for that. Everyone needs a Gianna in their lives.
There is also one secondary character who stole the show. Nic’s cat Jax. I just loved Nic and his cat, who was instantly captivated by Emerson, and competed with him for Em-time. Referred to as a purring traitor, Nic started plotting a cat cage to contain Jax so he doesn’t try to wedge his way between them.
In fact there was a lot to love in this latest book from CA Harms. Except of course, Em’s father. He was up there among the most despicable parents I’ve come across, and things turn really nasty when a young woman is found dead in one of the Mansfield’s hotels. 4.5 Stars

Uptight and in control... or rather controlled.. Emerson is the daughter of a wealthy and powerful hotel mogel..outward presentations and correct behaviour has been drilled into Emerson from a young age.
So when her best friend and wild child Gia decides they are going to a charity boy toy auction.. Emerson knows she needs to be on her best behaviour. That is until she sees boy toy number seven...homicide detective Nicholas Vaughn..she’s bidding and she’s going to win him.
As much as I could feel for Emerson and her controlled by asshole dad life...I wanted her to take a stronger control in taking back her life...for someone who was in control at work..there was little evidence of that in her personal. I did really enjoy the chemistry and banter between her and Nic... their scenes were sweet and spicy.
Nic’s character was and is a great example of an all round alpha male, caring and protective and demanding with a touch of arrogance and marshmellow that makes for a winning combination. I liked that he gave Emerson the time to decide and pick what she wanted..after laying his emotions bare to her...giving her the space for her to really make up her mind. It showed a vulnerable side to him which was enjoyable to see.
Hawt chemistry filled romance from this go to one click author. A shade darker with its subject matter but nothing to detailed or that requires trigger warnings. I’ve read and enjoyed a number of books by this author and this book was a welcome (albeit slight ) change in direction. The slightly darker theme gave an opportunity to delve in to differntsetof scenarios that the author explored well.

CA Harms has written a fantastic story - like with all her other stories, this is beautiful, sizzling and the story flows and glows bright.
Emerson life is smothered by rules and conditions set by her father. She spends her life following his rules and orders, never setting one foot out of line and never making choices for herself. Then her best friend Gia, whose her complete polar opposite, convinced her to attend a charity auction which is when this story begins and so does life for Em. Then we get introduced to Nic and we see him with his buds, doing what single guys do. I liked the advice Nic sought from his sister before the auction. The chemistry between Nic and Em is off the charts from the moment they meet...but things aren't without ups and downs. This is a relationship that will not be without troubles. Between duty, family, commitments, and a murder investigation -this couple will have a battle on their hands or will they decide to call it over before they even begin? This read was fantastic, full of drama, tension, heat, heart , romance and love. This is one story that will have you glued from start to finish.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I am addicted to C.A. Harms writing. It doesn’t matter how drastically different the stories may be every last one pulls me in. I was almost immediately hooked when I started reading Boy Toy Auction. From the gloriously swoony to the edge of your seat there’s not a dull moment to be found anywhere in this book.
I loved how Emerson and Nic had this perfect balance of not too sweet, but still sweet to match the off the charts chemistry between them. The electricity between these two is instantaneous but the build to beautiful love is what makes their story so wonderful. These two are the definition of opposites in most ways. From her shy and subdued personality to his confident and fearless one and coming from two very different worlds. But these two are a perfect match in every way!
I loved how Emerson and Nic had this perfect balance of not too sweet, but still sweet to match the off the charts chemistry between them. Great Read!!!
Emerson life is stilted by the rules and conditions of her father. She spends her life following his orders, never making choices for herself. When her best friend Gia, her polar opposite convinces her to attend a charity auction this story begins and maybe so does life for Em. When we are introduced to Nic, we see him with his friends doing what unattached guys do. Loved the advice he sought his sister out for before the auction. The chemistry between these two is off the charts...but note that first sentence in this review. This is a relationship that will not be without bumps. Between commitments, duty and a murder investigation our couple have an uphill battle or will it be over before it even begins? Getting to know these characters was a wonderful reading experience and it was time well spent and there is a little scene-stealer too...the pawsitively purrfect Jax.

This is the first book I've read by C.A. Harms and I absolutely loved it. The author's witty personality had me laughing at the witty banter between the characters.
Boy Toy Auction has a close group of friends, witty banter, lust, love, anger, jealousy, heartbreak and hot sex.

Nic, works hard solving Chicago's murders, never looking for a serious relationship. One of his friend's enters them to be sold off for the night, how did he get talked into this, then he spots her, she's beautiful, the auction starts, not to be outdone or land up with a granny he gets his Magic Mike on and struts his stuff, she's one of the bidders, she needs to win, and bingo sold to the redhead.
Emerson, overworked and controlled by her dad. Her BFF Gia plans a night out at a charity auction, but it's not your regular auction, this one is auctioning a night with a man, really not her thing, paddle in hand by her side, then she sees him, no.7 and the bidding is on, she won't lose this bid.
The chemistry is nuclear but they seem so different, but never judge a book by its cover it can shook the hell out of you.
Will they have an HEA? Or will her control freak dad mess it all up for them?

Emerson is living like her dad's own robot. She is being groomed to be what her father wants her to be within his company. She's always grown up doing what her father wanted her to do. He is a ruthless business man who gets what he wants, gets away with what he wants.
Zac is a military guy turned Detective. He has a wonderful set of friends who have such a great friendship, bromance, its wonderful. Emerson is talked into joining her friend at a charity auction which will auction off men, hence, Boy Toy Auction. Zac is talked into being one of the boy toys.
Once they see each other, they feel things, the insta-lust-connection. I don't want to give too much away, but Zac could make your panties catch on fire with just a look. That man all sexy and hotness. The story is frustrating due to her father and her not having a backbone, but it eventually gets corrected. Super steamy, super HOT, the hero is protective of his heroine. Good story!!! Enjoyed it very much!

Oh my lord... what do I say about another fabulous book by an amazing author who never, and I do mean never, disappoints with her writing.
From the first page to the last page this book captivates the reader.
Emerson is an adult woman working in her fathers company with her own responsibilities but is still treated like a child by her boss , who happens to be her father. He irked me when he treated her like a bug on the bottom of his shoe. Ugh, I wanted to slap him.
Nic is a homicide detective that agrees to this " boy toy auction" for charity. In other words, woman buy the men for a night alone with them.

Emerson is an adult woman working in her fathers company with her own responsibilities but is still treated like a child by her boss , who happens to be her father. He irked me when he treated her like a bug on the bottom of his shoe. Ugh, I wanted to slap him.
Nic is a homicide detective that agrees to this " boy toy auction" for charity. In other words, woman buy the men for a night alone with them.

Get ready to swoon! Nic will steal your heart and give you a new BBF to dream about! He is sure of himself, a little cocky (in a fun way) but a really great person on top of being gorgeous and sexy! I love how this book is told in both points of view, it really makes you see inside both characters. Em had been controlled by her father her entire life, her true self has been locked up inside dying to be set free. Her journey brought me a mixed bag of feelings from funny, sad, frustration and admiration. She is an amazing woman and I love her character. The chemistry between the characters is fantastic and the story flows beautifully. I couldn’t put this one down, I enjoyed every minute of this book!

This was a really enjoyable read.
I loved how Nic and Emerson met, and the instant chemistry between them.
Emerson has always been heavily influenced by her Father, and Nic is not the type of guy her Father would approve of.
Emerson really struggles with whether she and Nic have something worth fighting for, or if they're just having fun passing time together.
Nic wasn't looking for a relationship and didn't expect to meet someone like Emerson, but does he have a chance when he's not
what her Father wants for her?
Apart from a few rare moments of wanting to know their heads together, I really loved this story.

This book was amazing!! Yes, all CA Harms books are but this one is soooo good. It starts with two best friends going to an auction. I can’t tell you anymore you need to read this! And make sure your device is fully charged and you have no distractions you will want to finish this in one sitting!

Loved this book. Emerson works way too hard and is constantly trying to please her demanding father. Her friends convince her to take a break and attend a charity fundraiser. The main event is the auction. Women will be bidding on eligible men to win an evening with them. Emerson is not planning to participate until he saunters onto the stage.
Nic Vaughn is a homicide detective who gets pressured into offering to be auctioned off at the charity event. He asks his sister for some help with dance moves as he will not let his buddies see him humiliate himself. Once he makes eye contact with Emerson, he hopes more than anything that the beautiful woman in the silver dress will place the winning bid.
One evening out leads to more as the two start building a relationship. But Emerson's father has other plans. He's used her as a pawn for his business deals over the years and shops her around to potential business associates who he thinks would be most appropriate for her. Read - financially beneficial to him. Nic is not one to give up on what he wants and he continues to pursue Emerson to give her the kind of love and respect she deserves.

A romance at its best with laughter and love to give you a dose of how you can find love in an awkward situation. Nic is a sexy detective, sweetheart and naughty with a dirty mouth. Emerson is a beautiful workaholic still living under her father’s thumb. When Nic gets roped into an auction by his best friend for charity when he lays eyes on Emerson. Emerson is there because her best friend wants to show her there is more to life than work and turning into her mother. When Nic and Emerson lay eyes on one another it’s an attraction they can’t fight. Just from them looking at each other you get hot because the temperature in the room will go up. Emerson gets into a bidding war with another patron at the auction for Nic and when she wins Nic is all too happy for his night with her. There one night together turns into more nights together but when a tragedy happens at Emerson’s father hotel they are in for a rude awakening. Will Emerson let her father come between them and continue to control her life or will she let Nic love her they way she deserves to be love. I cannot tell you that you must read the story to find out.
C.A. brings two characters from two different worlds and families to life in this story. It will make you life, cry and want to junk punch someone just from the reading it. I love the story line, with it’s finding love in the most unsuspecting of ways. The story is a quick read without any lagging in between. It will keep you entertained the whole way through and the supporting characters are a great addition to the plot. Now, you’ll have read the blurb and seen the cover (hubba hubba *winks*), right? So you can understand why I was interested in reading this story *smirks* No objectifying here at all *shakes head*
Well, prepare to be surprised as this book takes a turn I.DID.NOT. see happening. Don’t you just love when that happens? *sighs* It was just epic, but now I’m in a bit of a pickle *frowns* as I don’t want to put my size sevens in it and say too much.
I’m scared to even say what Nic and Emerson do for a living in case it’s too big of a hint *shrugs*

Emerson has always been bound by responsibility, but meeting Nic makes her question everything including the ties that bind.

Honestly though, I don’t think I could have picked a better book for my first read by this author. C.A. Harms definitely knows how to engage her readers, and leave them wanting more. All signs of a great read - if you ask me.

Wrangled into participating in a boy toy auction, Nic and his friends make a bet - to see who can raise the most money. Anything for charity right? Nic is a police officer and ends up a hot topic at the auction with that sexy body. He is won by Emerson who was attending the auction as a favor to her best friend, Gia. Gia ends up winning one of Nic's best friends, and of course, Emerson outbids for a crazy amount Nic. The pair hit it off, and you can see the sizzling chemistry steaming from the pages. Nic is not the usual type of guy Emerson finds herself typically with, as she is a daddy-pleaser and ends up dating, wining and dining the boring suits he picks. Nic excites Emerson and brings out a side of her that she had hidden away such a long time ago, that she had forgotten it existed. What happens though when Emerson and Nic start getting hot and heavy, only for Emerson's father to discover the truth and blackmail her? Will Emerson break up with Nic and fall into line like the docile daughter she is or will Emerson along with the help of her best friend Gia finally find her own two feet and stand up to her father and watch him crumble on the sidelines when she discovers a nasty truth about him? I have to admit I thought this was going to be more of a romantic comedy, but it ended up with a women's fiction/ romantic suspense theme to the story. As auction stories are a favorite of mine, I did enjoy overall Boy Toy Auction by C.A Harms.

This is another fantastic story from C.A. Harms!
Emerson will do anything her father asks her to, she is overworked and doesn’t take any time for herself. Her best friend Gia decides its time for to let loose and take a night off. The two of them attend a charity Boy Toy Auction. This isn’t Emerson’s thing and she really doesn’t want to have any part in this, that is until she see’s entry number 7 and has to bid on him.
Nic, is a homicide detective who works hard and doesn’t have time for any sort of a relationship. He gets roped into participating in a charity auction by one of his friends. He doesn’t want to do this, but still decides to break out his best moves and boy is he glad he did. The girl in the audience just bid on him and won.
The chemistry between Nic and Emerson is off the pages. I loved how real they seemed, they experienced struggles that any normal working couple may experience. It did frustrate me at times how Emerson wouldn’t stand up to her father and just let him control her so easily, but thankfully Nic was there for her!
This book truly surprised me. It was steamy, had a little suspense, and some drama. This is definitely a story you will want to one-click!

The day that Nicholas and Emerson let their friends talk them into the Boy Toy Auction, is the day that their lives changed for the better. He's one of the Boy Toys, and normally she wouldn't do anything that crazy, but after one look at him, Emerson decides that she's going to win him. Their chemistry is off the charts HOT HOT HOT, like sparks flying out of my kindle HOT, so they did light the sheets on fire during sexy times. However, just when they are trying to get their footing, and deciding to see where it goes, her father, steps in, controlling her life like always, and things go sideways. And this is where the twists come in, because see, I saw some coming, while others had me so shocked that all I could do was drop f-bombs. In between the HOTNESS, angst, and twists, there's this cast of secondaries that kept me laughing hard, as they were crazy, and just what the doctor ordered when my emotions got the best of me. It all leads to a HUGE finale, of which that had all speech shut down. So yeah, this was another FANTASTIC story by the absolutely, positively brilliant C.A. Harms, that I just couldn't get enough of! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I get so excited when I see that CA Harms is releasing a new book and she has never failed to deliver an absolutely brilliant read. Each books cements her place as a MUST READ 1-click author.
I loved the characters she gave us with Emmerson and Nick. The chemistry from first sight when they meet is so hot steam was coming off my kindle.
Emmerson is a beautiful, intelligent, successful woman but she has no confidence thanks to her father and is stuck in a rutt letting him dictate her life. Thanks to the encouragement of her best friend Gianna, she lets her inhibitions down and enters a bidding war for Boy Toy number 7. Just from one look when he enters the stage awakens her body to hope and possibilities.
Nick is a sexy AF homicide Detective that is talked into taking part in a charity auction. Soon as he comes up on stage his eyes look with the beauty in front of him and he is excited when she wins the bidding and an evening with him.
I so loved and swooned over Nick's determination to win Emmerson over but I did get a bit frustrated when he let her go too easily at one point. Their HEA was well deserved and well earnt after all their fight.
I so love CA Harms and can't wait to see what she brings us next.

This book was absolutely amazing. I freaking floved it in all of it's sex hotness. I'm not going to say much but dayyyyyum love me some Nic🔥. This is my first book by a new arthur for me and damn why haven't I read her before is all I have to say and if you haven't either pick up this book you won't be disappointed in the least. This book had me laughing and shaking my head as the 2 MC's Emerson & Detective Nick oh yes he's a cop and a naughty one as well😜 these 2 I absolutely fell in love with as their chemistry heated up and as they try to work thing's out. There are other character's in here as well who had me cracking up as much as Emerson & Nic did. Oh my lord loved that auction scene. 😈 I would most definitely recommend reading this lil jewel.

A very entertaining, fun, playful, flirty SEXILICIOUS read from author C.A. Harms! Boy Toy Auction was such a sizzling, seductive read that was downright fun with some great characters and a storyline that made me instantly smile and perked me right up.
This romance made me sigh BIG TIME! It was so delicious and a hell of a good time read. I laughed and squirmed and got into it right from the beginning to the very end. The banter was witty and crackling with the tension while the plot was perfect and the pace was set just right. Not too slow, and not to fast. I didn't feel like anything could of been better nor did I feel overwhelmed. It was just a pleasurable read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Loved this . So glad I was able to read this yummy book. Hot Detective goes to an auction to be sold to the highest bidder. Little does he know the highest bidder is going to completely change his life. Loved the characters the chemistry and the storyline . Intense sweet and yummy. Just a well written amazing book from beginning to end.C.A. Harms did an amazing job with this one. A new favorite of mine . Highly recommend.
