Somewhat disappointing. I believe that getting yourself into a hypnotic trance is the difficult part and is one that is covered insufficiently.
What I would find useful are the guidelines for script creation, only when you read the example scripts provided, they don't seem to follow these rules very much themselves. It is a little confusing and I would have appreciated an in-depth explanation of the wording of at least one of the examples. You are asked to trust that they work just because.
The scripts provided seem like lectures or just generic advice which may serve most people but may not serve you. I would recommend going through the wording with your psychologist.
Nah, forget that. If you are going through any of the situations the author claims to help improve just forget this book altogether and go to a licensed psychologist.
Five stars to Austin. I cant think how this book could be improved. Its easy to understand and very readable. I have been using the progressive relaxation every day for just over a week now and already noticing differences. Trying to find copies of her other books now.
This book helped me to understand hypnosis better by taking it out of the entertainment field and describing what it really is. I think I'll try some of her suggestions. If it delivers on its claims it will be pretty amazing.
