Vampires are real. That fact has Erin Hamilton thinking she’s headed for crazy town. Still, she can’t deny the intense emotion she experiences when Dante Gabriel sinks his teeth into her neck to take her blood. She’s in love, and her body responds to his bite in a way she never could have imagined.
Once Dante tastes Erin’s blood, he’s addicted forever and cannot live without it. He’s heartbroken when she demands that he leave and never return. But neither can live without the other now, which puts them both at risk.
As they struggle to understand the mysterious bond between them and decipher the secrets of the ancient Vampyre Texts, more patients disappear from the hospital. To complicate matters, a gang of vampire thugs chasing Erin, flashbacks increasing in number and clarity, and an ominous dark energy leave Dante on the brink of becoming unhinged.

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙💚💜❤️ Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍 Character development: 😟🙁☺️😘 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The Hero:Dante - he is a pure blood vampire, born from very strong vampires. When he was eighteen years old, he went out one night with his cousin and was kidnapped by a female vampire and her guards. She told him she was his queen and kept him as a blood slave for over a decade. After he went missing, his father and uncle went after him and never returned. After escaping, he went to live with his grandfather who told him he is safe because a ghost is attached to him. Though Dante suffers from PTSD and often hears “her” voice promising he will one day be hers again.
The heroine:Erin - she is an ER nurse and she met Dante on the night he escaped when he was making a mess with the blood in the hospital blood bank. For some reason, she protected him and doesn’t care why he was destroying the blood bank or what he was doing there. She trusts him and can’t stop thinking about him.
The Story: Dante has learned that he has a blood bond with Erin. A blood bond is something almost unheard of but basically means that both parties need each other. Erin needs Dante to feed from her and Dante only craves her blood. She has just learned that vampires exist and doesn’t quite know what to think, despite the fact that she lives in New Orleans, which has long been known to be a haven for vampires. She always thought that was purely fiction.
I must say, I think she overreacted too much to finding out Dante is a vampire. I mean she has spent time with him, ate meals with him, fallen in love with him and he hasn’t hurt her, so her going nuts when she finds out, is a bit over the top. I liked the two main characters in this book, but at times they were both quite clueless. Dante was clueless about what “she” did to him while he was held captive, and he didn’t seem to want to really find out how to get rid of her and the hold she had over him. Erin was clueless about everything to do with vampires and about things happening at her hospital. She also had vampire bites that Dante didn’t give her, and she should have been able to figure out what happened and who did it, but she was pretty stupid about it.
Another thing that bothered me was how Dante kept thinking about the things he was keeping from Erin, then he would think that he would tell her, just not right now. He kept making up reasons he couldn’t tell her right away, like the fact that she was having trouble with the fact that he was a vampire, so he wouldn’t tell her yet about the blood bond, or about the fact that he was a blood slave for ten years, or the fact that his sister was pregnant with her brother’s baby.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Lauren Rowe and John Lane. Lauren has a nice soft voice but her tempo is a bit stilted so you can tell she is reading. John has a very deep voice which works well for a large paranormal male. Overall, the narration was fine but neither of these are in my list of favorite narrators.
Seriously, one word for this book. WOW. Seriously, just...WOW! The first Volume of the Saga was tremendous, and I loved how all the world building was woven into the love story--but in this book, there is an incredible plot that kicks into high gear, and just when I thought I could put the book down, I was pulled back in with more intrigue and questions. Throughout it all, Ms. Hardt never lets the reader lose sight of the fact that there is a beautiful love story unfolding here--something deeper and more binding than regular mortal connection. It's accomplished with emotion and heart that have me aching for both Erin and Dante, while cheering them both on for their courage to leave what they know behind, and to trust in what they believe in their hearts instead. And isn't that what real love is all about? In the end, it's this overriding theme that make "Unhinged" a true 5-star read for me. I'm already halfway through the next volume, and loving it even MORE. Again, I'm just going to say: WOW. FIVE-STAR WOW!
I've come to understand a bit more about the blood bond that Dante and Erin share. I wasn't sure how she'd react when she found out exactly who Dante was. Erin can be so smart in some instances and quite dumb in others. So her reaction was something I was definitely looking out for. There were other moving parts involved in their story, and events that helped to push the plot along, however, the core of this story is still very much about the characters themselves. Dante was as darling as ever and I'm waiting to see if I'm right about the female vampire who almost ruined his life.
Erin still drove me absolutely nuts, but thankfully my sweetheart Dante found a way to dominate the narrative. Other vampires, origin and identities unknown, are sampling the delicacy that is Erin's blood. Dante is determined to find out who keeps going after her and to find out more about the woman who kept him captive for so many years. He's not sure who to trust or even what his next steps should be, but what he does know is that nothing and no one, not even Erin herself, is going to keep him from his true love. This book was full of mystery and intrigue, but the author also left plenty of romance within its pages. I still think I'm right about Dante's captor and I think some people in Erin's life are more than they seem. I wonder if my assumptions will gain any clarity in the next part of this series.
I was hoping the plot would pick up the pace, but it barely did. Instead, the author decided to add tons of side plots while barely answering the primary mystery of the Queen and Dante's kidnapping.
To make matters worse, the two main characters, Dante and Erin, are not my favorite. Dante is too full of himself, ignores everyone's warnings, and doesn't even trust his own family. Erin, on the other hand, is a complete enigma to me. I don't understand her motivations or actions, which makes it difficult to root for her.
Unhinged by Helen Hardt is Blood Bond Saga Vol 2 books 4-6. This continues the story of Dante Gabriel and Erin Hamilton, so you really should read the previous books to full enjoy this one. This Saga is a 9 part story line that are quick exciting reads. Dante and Erin have made their connection finial by sleeping together which is a hot encounter. But Erin starts to stress out about vampires being real and Dante and his family being a group of Vampires. Erin is working towards getting the truth at whats been happening at the hospital and the trauma that Dante has been through. Erin is still working on understanding and excepting the vampire concept and what had happened in the past with Dante. Along with there is the new revelation of Dante father being a ghost. Dante is still looking for answers on what and who actually kept him along with his present feelings with Erin. Erin has about come to terms with what Dante is and they are working to move forward. Dante is looking to get acknowledgement that his father is dead so they can move forward with claiming what has been left. This is such a page turner series that leaves you wanting more ASAP. Loved it!
Okay, so where to begin. First I really did enjoy the last book of the series and had high hopes for this installment, but honestly I could not understand why the plot needed soooo many twist and turns. We already had a mystery “who is this QUEEN”? Soooo, Why did Dr Logan have to disappear? Why is Lucy now a werewolf? Why do we need to know about Emilia’s pregnancy if we never get her side of the story! Too many unnecessary elements with no follow ups! Maybe am being impatient but I would like to have at least some of the storylines answered before we are overwhelmed with the next book.

Unhinged gives us the opportunity to catch up with Dante and Erin and this is whew things get real and steamy. The pace picks up and you find yourself turning the pages quicker than ever! Great series of novellas that leave you anticipating the reveal of the evil queen.
This sage by Helen Hardt is amazing! Don't get me wrong I love the Twilight Saga so much. However, this sage is so much different. Vampires, Ghosts and may Werewolves. And the blood bond.
Erin finally accepts Dante but their troubles continue with more questions than answers. Erin learns there are more that goes bump in the night and friends maybe more than they seem.
Will they finally get answers in the next book? I look forward to finding out.
Sigh. I'm trying to hang in here. But like with the Steel Brothers (& 1 sister) saga, this is painful, PAINFUL slow moving plot. So slow. This is an easy, quick read.... But at the cost of my sanity reading the same damn thing over and over. For what? Word count? 😩
Erin And Dante struggle to understand what exactly is a blood bond. Dante has an idea of not who can give him the answers but what. It’s the Vampyre Texts. There’s is only one problem it’s in the old French language. Erin is stomped when It comes to all the disappearance at work. They are there one minute the next there is no record of them being there. Soon she discovers what they all have in common. Everyone who has disappeared has B positive blood. What’s even weirder is that she’s B positive so is her friend Lucy. Also the blood bank is always empty of B positive blood. Dante gets the shock of his life when he discovers that he was actually the lure/bait to bring his father and uncle in the reach of the “mystery queen”. Then His father appears to him out of no where but there’s only one problem he’s a ghost and he’s there to watch over and help Dante find out what and why he was held captive even if that means going behind his grandfather bill’s back to uncover why that is.
Part 4-5-6 were so much better then 1-2-3. Book two left you on cliff hangers with each of the chapter. Once Dante’s chapter left you on a cliff hanger you would hurry and read Erins chapter to only be left on another cliff hanger.
Why I didn’t give a five star rating was I felt as if a lot of stuff was repeated over and over again in the book. There’s only so many times I should read the same stuff over and over. Plus every day when Erin got off work Dante had to “ get off”. Like man find a hobby 🙄.
This is the second part of the series ( Books 4-6) And well the suspense of what the Queen has and will do next is too much. Dante and Erin grow their bond daily which is so hot and steamy. Along with the help of family, friends, and homeless community members they try to get answers about this dark evil that follows them and has tortured Dante and others. You really get to see just how strong Erin is and her fight to hang onto a love she knows belongs to only her. The unhinged feelings are on every page turn and I am turning my head to be bitten yet again as the next few books are released. Great writing once again Helen Hardt! I love this series so much. A huge fan of this storyline.
4.5 Erin is struggling with the truth Dante shared with her. How could vampires be real? Erin is also looking into the ongoing strange occurrences at the hospital she works. Patients have gone missing and then show up again. The only thing in common seems to be their blood type. Meanwhile Dante is dealing with trying to find out what his captor did to him and who is responsible for the mysterious marks on Erin's body. With each bit of information they find just leads to more questions. The only certain thing in Erin and Dante's lives are their love for each other.. Every time they are together they feel complete.
What an awesome read it was. Things start to complicate for Erin and Dante, but their bond gets stronger as they help each other with the daily struggles. So much has happened but I still want to know more about Zabrina and the queen. I enjoyed every second of this story and the direction that it's going. That cliffhanger will definitely keep me on my toes until the next part/s.
Part 2 of this series dropped some interesting bread crumbs for the rest of the series. There is some convenience of course, but I still have fun.
I know this author's writing doesn't work for everyone, but I just can't seem to get enough of it. They are smutty, and easy to follow plots. Its a fun take on Vampires for sure.
These books take me a really long time to read. I am committed as I rarely give up on a series. The writing during the scenes, especially the sex scenes, is VERY repetitive. I’m hanging on, not for the romance side, but to see what happens with Dr Bonneville. She’s clearly a vampire and I predict the reveal will be dragged out to the last book in the series. I liked this one 10% more than the first, so that’s a positive.

4.5 stars I’m still really enjoying this series. Lots of drama and suspense kept me on my toes. Not to mention we learned about the Origins which were really cool. Damon and Katy’s relationship still gives me butterflies. 🦋
This book was much better then the first book. I actually was intrigued. Still with there was more charater development and less of Erin counting on Dante. I wish she would be a tad more bad bitch per say. I'm glad the book is getting better.
This book contains sagas 4, 5, & 6 of the Blood Bond books! Dante and Erin know that they are bound to each other through a blood bond. Though we haven’t been told exactly what that entails yet, or how it came to be, they need each other to survive. They also love each other totally! Erin now has to face the fact that vampires are indeed real and not just a story made up to scare tourists. She also has to face that she loves one who needs to feed off of her to survive. Dante is having a hard time adjusting to his new freedom, for 10 years he’s been held captive and now he wants answers. The only one who seems to be giving any answers right now is The Queen who captured and tortured Dante, and those answers are vague. This book is super intense and introduces so many new details that you just stay glued to the book trying to find out more! I’ve read other Helen Hardt novels before and have to say that this series is one of her best. I wish I could figure out where this is going to end up, but just when you think you’ve figured out where she’s going with the storyline, you find out you’re wrong! Brilliant writing — outstanding series so far! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book has parts 4-6 in it, all with a Prologue and Epilogue. You have to read parts 1-3 to understand what is going on, considering these are not standalones! They involve the paranormal, vampires, and I couldn’t put it down! I will be rating and reviewing each part individually.
Part 4:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You must read parts 1-3, and it is set up similarly: point of view of Erin and Dante, with Epilogue from The Queen. This part left off from part 3.
The boom boom officially happened, and Dante finally tells Erin he is a vampire. Along with all that, he feeds off her. After all of that, Dante finally understands what a blood bond is, but Erin was freaked out about the truth of him being a vampire.
Unfortunately, Dante and his brother, River, have to keep a secret from her that involves her brother… all while trying to figure out who bit her unwillingly.
Reason I gave 4⭐️:
The plot was absolutely amazing, but the spicy scenes to be awkwardly written. What saved this book from going any lower is the plot being so amazing, but I had to skip the spicy scenes due to how awkward they seemed to me.
Part 5:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You must read parts 1-4, and it is set up similarly: point of view of Erin and Dante, with Epilogue from The Queen. This part left off from part 4. Also, the spice is still awkward, but the plot is amazing (hence the four stars).
This left off where Erin was bitten and clamored to forget she was. As they were trying to figure that out, she was wanting to find out what happened to Dante when he was kidnapped, but he doesn’t want to talk about it. What he does give her is more information on the blood bond that is happening between them two.
A family member appears in an unexpected way, and does trust Dante’s uncle, just like Dante. This family member came back to protect Dante, from what? No one knows, including the family member.
While feeding off Erin, Dante had a possible vision into the future. He doesn’t know how true it is, considering it is supposedly impossible to happen. He did learn something about the Vampire Text, but doesn’t want to acknowledge it and wants to read it himself.
Finally, a dedicated doctor is still missing. He has missed two days of work so far, and another patient (this one gave birth) went missing… along with her baby.
Part 6:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just like previous parts, must read the first 5 parts first. You still follow Erin and Dante, with The Queen as the epilogue.
This part continues from part 5, where Dante and his dad are planning to find the dad’s body. They need the body for the inheritance that would pass to Dante and his sister, but Dante and his dad has plans with part of it…
A mom and baby had disappeared from the hospital, Erin delivered the baby. Meanwhile, her close friend doesn’t remember the date she had with Dante’s brother.
Dante and his dad are still trying to figure out what the text is, but Erin found out that Werewolves and werepanthers exist.
The spice is still very awkward (very frequently using the word ripe for her… ya). At this point, the only reason I am continuing is due to how amazing the plot is, but I have to skip over the spice.
Unhinged is Vol 2 in Helen Hardt's blood Bond Saga, it comprises of books 4, 5 & 6 in the series. To fully appreciate the story that Helen is telling Books 1-3 really must be read first or you can read Unchained which is Vol 1.
Book 4:
Every instalment of this series is becoming more and more intriguing, There are so many questions that need answering, however remaining true to her form, Helen Hardt dangles everything in front of her reader and continues to chip away at the needed information. Dante and Erin have finally made love ... and it was HOT!!!! Their bond is stronger than ever and each page sizzles. Their love is all consuming and it only deepens each time they are together. Erin has finally allowed Dante to taste her blood, they now are bonded in blood and in love. Now knowing Dante is a vampire, Erin struggles to come to terms with this information. This story is amazing and, as usual, Ms Hardt ends it on one almighty cliff hanger. I can't wait to sink my teeth into Part 5 (pun intended).
Book 5:
I thought Part 4 was great, but Part 5 was even better, it was exceptional. Finally Ms Hardt has given some answers to the questions that have been running through my mind. new characters have been introduced to the story, upping the mystery and intrigue that was already present.
Dante's father is now in the picture, or rather his father's ghost is, and he is helping them unravel the mystery confronting them. Now that Erin knows the truth regarding Dante's abduction, she becomes more worried about him and his sate of mind. Dante is worried about Erin and who s feeding from her. People are beginning to go missing from the hospital where Erin works and this has her concerned. Why is it happening? Who is involved? Is the Queen still waiting to pounce? What control does she have over Dante?
Book 6:
Erin has finally come to accept who and what Dante is ... a vampire. It truly was an amazing moment for both of them. however, everything is not as it seems. Dante is still have recollections of his captivity by The Queen, one of which answers a few of his questions. The Queen is still taunting his mind, but Erin is there each time to save him. Dante's "father" also brings news that will change Dante's outlook on his life ... but there is a catch (you'll have to read it to find out just what that is). Erin's friend Lucy is also beginning to act strangely ... is she really who we think she is?
This series is intriguing as Ms Hardt never allows the reader to fully know what is happening. Mysterious disappearances of both patients and staff at the hospital continually have the reader guessing as to where this story will go next. What is so important about the blood type?
This instalment was packed full of everything mystery, twists, turns, passion and more questions that I needed answering. I can't wait for Part 7.
Part 4 - 5 STARS Dante & Erin’s story continues in Blood Saga Part 4. Dante & Erin need each other. Dante for Erin’s blood. Although, he can drink an animal’s blood (usually cow’s blood) to stay alive he now craves Erin’s blood and she craves him after the Blood Bonding. Dante is still trying to find out who had kidnapped him and why was he released. I love this story and I can’t wait to find out more. Part 5 is next. When they finally give in to all they are meant to be and they are meant for, Dante finds it even better than he could have ever imagined. Erin’s siren call is even more potent now that he has tasted her and she now knows the undeniable pull of the blood bond. Trying to bring her terms with discovering that all she thought was mere fantasy is reality is going to take some work though. Dante knows now though no matter the cost he cannot let his thirst both for Erin mind, body, and heart go unquenched any longer
Blood Bond Saga: Part 5

Blood Bond Saga: Part 6

Now with every sip and savor it’s clear between both of them the true power their love has and they are posed to face whatever problems come their way. Now if only they knew what darkness was stalking them so fiercely. Dante is working overtime to find the means to track down the answers behind all the questions that they keep uncovering. Nothing about their journey has been easy but as long as he has his love he is determined to succeed.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
Erin finally learns what Dante is and is having a difficult time accepting the truth and coming to terms with it. They are getting to know each other better while trying to fill in the missing pieces. Who is feeding on Erin and why? Get ready for an intense and sexy series because things just got more interesting.
“Mine to love. Mine to protect. Mine to take nourishment from. Mine to give back to. And I would give Erin everything, everything within my power.”
Part 5: “Life was getting more than complicated.”
This has been my favorite book of the series thus far. So much happens in Part 5. Some questions are answered and some are explained a little. Erin is getting closer to excepting what Dante is but also dealing with new elements thrown her way. But she isn’t the only one having a hard time excepting reality, Dante is struggling as well. Both are looking into the future and are starting to have a little hope. I’m left with more questions and even more theories. Can’t wait to find out which one, if any, are true.
“My vision sharpened. I’d felt protective of Erin before, but now that I’d taken her blood, red rage consumed me.”
Part 6: “Take it all. Consume me so that nothing is left. Nothing but the me that is part of you.”
Erin finally accepts all that Dante is and their bond is even stronger now. But more things are thrown at her and she begins to doubt. Dante is struggling, more so than usual, with a few things in this book. One of his family members has a certain task that needs to be taken care of and only Dante can complete it. I’m excited to see what is to come next in this series.
“Together we danced, rising above all the turmoil in the world, all the turmoil in my own head, joined in body and blood. In heart. In soul.”
4.5 stars ~ Read on behalf of Two Darlin Dolls and a Book Review Blog
Dante and Erin’s connections keeps getting stronger
This book continues from where book one left off. Dante ties up Erin in order to reveal his truth to her. He tells her that he’s a vampire, and she immediately wants to run away, but she can’t because she’s tied up. She ends up accepting him pretty quickly and then realizes that there’s more going on in this world than she has ever known.
The queen (also known as “her”) keeps making appearances in Dante’s head. He is constantly battling her and the abuse he experienced when he was kidnapped for those 10 years. Additionally, there are some truths that are revealed.
Erin keeps remembering the homeless guy that she encountered in book one, the one that Dante took his clothes from, and she realizes that he might have a lot of the answers for the questions they have. They go to him to get some more information and find out some interesting things. Additionally, Erin realizes that there are other beings besides vampires. Some of the mysteries that were in book 1 are starting to show some possible revelations.
Now, Dante and his cousin need to do something for the peace of mind of Dante.
In terms of the connection, the chemistry, between Dante and Erin… Holy moly… It is intense, hot, visceral, raw, animalistic, and plain smutty 🔥🥵💦😅! Now that Erin openly shares blood with Dante, it gets even better. I. Loved. It. All!!! 👏🏻. Not only is their physical bond pretty intense, but their emotional connection is improving as well.
I can’t wait to continue this series!
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating -no owd/omd -the H keeps remembering the 10 years of his abduction, which includes the ow that kidnapped him -it gets pretty 🔥 with the intimate scenes 🥵
