Alias

This short study assumes that Edward de Vere the 17th earl of Oxford was the main originating author of the plays and poetry attributed to William Shakespeare, using this name as his alias, or pseudonym. Why he felt it necessary to do so, and the efforts made by his family to maintain the alias after his death, form the basis of the study.
