An absorbing, informative outline on the lives of the Brontes. It includes moving key accounts of the families life, their works, and even their pets. This would be a welcome book to any Bronte fan. The design on it is simply beautiful!

This books to accomplish Tsundoku Books Challenge 2020

When at the first time i saw this book in Jakarta's Big Bad Wolf 2020 a few weeks ago i am really curious about it. Since you can say i'm fans of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. I even already bought Villette from Kinokuniya but i'm still haven't read yet.
Since i'm taking annual leave from my office this week why i am not using this chance to read all my TBR while staying at home :D

Now i think knowing more about Brontes family and it is really hard since most of them died in such an young age but their works is still live in the reader's heart. This books also told us how the characteristics for Charlotte, Emily and Anne. what is their masterpieces, who is their closest friends, what is the inspiration for the characters in their books and i think it is interesting one. Err i know i haven't read Villette, Agnes Grey, Shirley, The Professor and also The Tenant of Wildfell Hall so somehow this books is gives me some spoiler about the characters and plot twist =__=a

A really lovely biography of the Brontë family - the three famous sisters, their brother, parents and friends. A little heavy on the social and economic context, but with just enough intriguing details of their private lives to keep it interesting. It focused heavily on Charlotte, the longest lived of the three, but how sad to know just how short all of their lives were. I love that the author gave due respect to the sisters' incredible genius and their individual strengths and stylistic differences.

A fascinating little book to dip into. Covering all aspects of the Brontes' lives and work - friendships, travel, home life, letters, art, novels, deaths. With a lot of background to life in general at the time, plus info on later film adaptations etc. A bit jumbled in format but easy to skip the bits of less interest. I certainly learned things about them that I had not known.
