There have been many imitators, but only Jackie Collins can tell you what really goes on in the fastest lane of all. From Beverly Hills bedrooms to a raunchy prowl along the streets of Hollywood; from glittering rock parties and concerts to stretch limos and the mansions of power brokers-Jackie Collins chronicles the real truth from the inside looking out.

Jackie Collins has been called a "raunchy moralist" by the late director Louis Malle and "Hollywood's own Marcel Proust" by Vanity Fair magazine. With over 500 million copies of her books sold in more than forty countries, and with some 30 New York Times bestsellers to her credit, Jackie Collins is one of the world's top-selling novelists. She is known for giving her readers an unrivalled insider's knowledge of Hollywood and the glamorous lives and loves of the rich, famous, and infamous. "I write about real people in disguise," she says. "If anything, my characters are toned down-the truth is much more bizarre."

Jackie Collins died of breast cancer Saturday, September 19, 2015. Jackie Collins, who had kept her illness secret, said recently that she believed in an afterlife, that she had no regrets and that she had emulated Frank Sinatra in that “I did it my way.”

I was so sad to hear of Mrs Collins death, I along with many others, have spent endless hours flipping through her books.

Jackie Collins, the absolute mother of glitzy pop lit. She is the quintessential beach read for trash enthusiasts. Many imitators have come close (Judith Krantz, Judith Gould, Judith Michael) but no one has quite the wit or snappiness of Jackie Collins.

Her books are trashy, deliciously trashy. If you're looking for any literary value, you'll miss the point entirely, and Mrs Collins would have been the first to tell you that.

In her last interview she mentioned that she was happy to have given people a few enjoyable hours with her books,
You've done exactly that Jackie, thank you!

I absolutely love Jackie Collins. Summer is the perfect time to crack out one of these scandalous and shocking books! It just wouldn’t be summer without them! If Collins wasn’t a book to read alongside the pool I am not sure what is.

Hollywood Kids has all the famous Jackie Collins ingredients and I loved every minute of it. The rich kids of Hollywood have all the excitement and scandal. I was hooked till past midnight to finish it. We have romance, suspense, comedy and all the designer labels packed into a fast paced story that is a complete guilty pleasure. It is not literary genius but it is pleasure in the finest form.

Granted that these books are all the same in some shape or form just with different characters, sometimes I did think I had already read this and it seemed similar to all her others but nevertheless I enjoyed it. You can always expect a blockbuster ending with these books and a happy one at that. I live for the epilogue where Collins wraps the story up in a lovely big bow.

The Queen on Hollywood Chick Lit reigns once more.

have always been a Jackie Collins fan.And this one definitely didn't disappoint. The love between Jordanna and Bobby was more fun than Micheal and Kennedy & the murderer was revealed early on but the connections between each plot all coming together to an end was surprisingly nerve racking.

A big trashy novel about the adult children of "Hollywood royalty" as they try to succeed in life on their own. There are a ton of characters and many fun inter-connected plots, including two mysteries. A bit long, but still a fun read.

As per her usual, Jackie Collins did not disappoint with this novel. Every single time I read one of her novels, as a reader I feel like I'm on the inside in the world of Hollywood and once the ride has started, putting the breaks on is not possible. From beginning to end this was a very hard book to put down. She writes characters unlike any other. Written so well that you can't help but become personally invested in how it all turns out and the "happily ever after" moment and she never disappoints in that regard.
I would definitely recommend this book, not only to fans of Jackie, but to any fiction reader as its outstanding. Great Read.

I don’t generally enjoy genre fiction as I find a lot of it repetitive and uninterested in playing with tropes and character types, often resulting in boring, surface-deep novels. Jackie Collins is one of the few exceptions to this rule. Once you’ve read a few of her books, you begin to see the structure and her world-building. She doesn’t deviate much, often relying on certain stock characters to pad out her slick thrillers. Despite that, I keep coming back for more. I love the way that she’s not afraid to fill her novel spoiled, nasty rich people who spend all their time fucking, going drugs, and making money. There’s no morality, no voice of reason, just a bunch of awful people doing awful things. It remains a thrill each and every time I pick up one of her novels.

My favorite part is when the Hollywood kid Jordanna is pondering why “no one ever mentions Madonna’s songwriting talent“🙄😂😂🤮

**SPOILERS AHEAD**
This is the first book from Jackie I am reading since her passing. I always love her stories because they make me feel like I am seeing a Hollywood Glam movie with all of the celebrities juicy gossip!. This story had a different twist that her other books I have read. There was a murderer running loose in the glam of Beverly Hills. He is seeking revenge on women who he felt did him dirty. Even though it is revealed early on who the killer is, it doesn't stop with the juicy storyline! Man these Hollywood kids have major drama!

I guess Jackie Collins is the female version of Harold Robbins. Definitely a better writer than Robbins, but the book is not upto my taste. I would categorise it as a cheap entertainer.

My first JC novel. It was enjoyable because some of the characters were well drawn and I cared a bit about them, plus the plot was dramatic. However, a few of the main characters I really wasn’t interested in (eg Jordanna), and sometimes things definitely felt ‘thin’, eg characters were credited as saying something clever or interesting when it was completely banal. Also the strength and quantity of swearing was really off-putting (and I wouldn’t usually consider myself sensitive to swearing). The sex scenes were mostly incredibly unsexy. It was an interesting insight into the era, which was before i was born. Obviously it’s a bit racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic but i feel that’s too obvious and too ‘of its era’ to say much about - depressing though.

I abandoned this book halfway through. It bore a strong resemblance to book 1 in this series, Hollywood Wives but the subplot in the first book, of the crazed killer stalking the characters, became the main theme. We were spending way too much time inside the mind of this obsessed killer of women and his mental rants about how all women are whores and bitches was taking up too much space and frankly that's not why I picked up this book. Women hating killers are one genre, and sex and scandal are another genre and while mixing the two worked in the first book it didn't (for me) in this one.

At the start the novel and it's big list of characters 'Hollywood Kids' was a bit much to handle. And then the addition of a new twist - a black character with no name began spouting revenge! And then two ex-cops (adults) work PI cases ... But these kids whose parents are either actors, directors, studio bosses; start to cause havoc with their lives of money, cars, sex and mayhem. And then tragedy hits where young women are being murdered .. California was supposed to be a safe fun playground for the rich and famous! And what is the connection between everyone? Did the past come back to haunt them all? Yep... oh boy... what a story .. until the last page!

Ridiculous. The most gripping Collins novel so far. Couldn't put it down. I cared about the characters, I loved them.I'm so goddamn happy it ended well. I was so anxious when Jordanna and Cheryl were trapped and the others were clueless - and Mike and Kennedy were making love, for fuck's sake. I was just about screaming at the others to get it. Jesus.

I'll forget these characters too, but that's because I'm preoccupied, not because they're forgettable. They aren't unforgettable, but they aren't forgettable either.

I swear I only read this because it was the only thing I had at the beach. It was thrilling and full of stupid tropes about men and women. Also, blood ties are the most important thing when it comes to family, and you can dump any children you've loved and raised if you find out you're technically not related to them.

This book had a decent plot that captivated me. However there seemed be a lack of depth in some of the story lines. Also, some scenes were not credible. For example, when Jordania was locked in the house and couldn't get out, there would have been objects in the kitchen such as knives that she could have used as a weapon.

This is a good, taught book if you want to know what goes on in the fast lane of Hollywood. Honestly, I might be able to save some time and look it up online under google. This

book isn't my cup of tea, but others people might like it if they like that type of reading. Otherwise, it's a good story line.

Jackie Collins at her best.
This was the first JC book I ever read and I'm slowly making my way through her oeuvre.
I found my sister's copy and liked the sound of this sexy, trashy story and it was exactly that.
The spoilt kids of Hollywood are a whole world away from myself but that's what makes them enjoyable and easy to read about. Full of the glamour and mystery that Collins is famed for.

Amazing book! I love the epilogue too, gave me the closure I needed. The story was quite boring 1/4 into the book, but it gets thrilling towards the ending. Love it! 4 stars, would definitely read again..
