Never going to happen.
Having drunk of the Elixir of Life, Rachel Miller’s soul is tied to the earth in a perpetual cycle of death and rebirth. A widow, she lives with her six-year-old son in a strict religious community. She has no memory of the lives she has lived, though she is haunted by a love she can’t remember and a loss she can’t overcome.

Growing up in the cold, wet, north of England, Nina Croft spent a lot of time dreaming of faraway sunnier places and ponies. When she discovered both, along with a whole load of other things, could be found between the covers of a book, her life changed forever.

Later, she headed south, picked up the perfect husband along the way, and together they volunteered to work in Africa. There they discovered a love of exotic places and a dislike of 9-5 work. Afterward they spent a number of years travelling (whenever possible) intermingled with working (whenever necessary.) Eventually they stumbled upon a remote area in the mountains of southern Spain and the small almond farm they now call home.

Nina spends her days reading, writing and riding her mare, Gencianna, under the blue Spanish skies—sunshine and ponies. She reckons this is proof that dreams really can come true if you want them enough.

Nina's writing mixes romance with elements of the paranormal and science fiction

4 - "You’re in my world now…" Stars!

The third book in Nina Croft’s Storm Lords series gives us Finn and Rachel’s story. Release Me was as much of a roller coaster ride as its predecessors (if my reviews are anything to go by!) and while part of the series, can absolutely be read as a standalone.

In the space of a day, the world as she had known it had changed beyond recognition…

Which is a good thing because having read books one and two nigh on three years ago, I can barely remember them now. For me Nina excels when writing paranormal, space and fantasy stories and this series in general has not been a struggle. Finn is the expected tortured male, two thousand years of life, love and repeated loss will do that to a fallen angel. Which is why he has come to the decision to end it all before Lilith; Queen of the Abyss summons him back to her side to fulfill the agreement that was set all those years ago.

Could love last so many lives..?

Staying on the periphery of Rachel’s life and watching over her from the side-lines has been Finn’s main focus in-between working with the rest of the guys at Storm Lord Securities but with things coming to an end he decides to completely back away and let her live out her somewhat sheltered and unconventional life in peace.

"For one night I’m going to forget the rules…"

Unfortunately her Grandfather, a prominent US Senator has other ideas for her and her young son, and all of a sudden Finn and Rachel are thrust into each other’s world and whilst Finn knows exactly what is going on between them, Rachel struggles to understand why their connection is so instant and how it is that everything she experiences and the extreme emotions when she is around him, feel like it’s not the first time for them.

"I trust you… I don’t know why, but it do."

But their reconnection comes with a countdown, and five days pass really quickly when you have so much information to share, emotions to figure out and memories to decipher in order to separate fact from fiction. Especially when you have darker forces doing everything in their power to ensure that you do not reach the correct conclusions.

"I loved you so much. I would have done anything for you… If you’d offered me eternity, I would have said yes."

Unwrap Me is due for release next, and I hope the wait isn’t as long as it has been between the last two releases, because although standalones, there is a small story arc playing out through them, and with time counting down for all the guys, I am guessing that arc will expand as the rest of them meet and get together with their women. Especially as Lilith is losing them because of love.

"There’s a war coming… Things will change."

ARC generously provided by the author, in exchange for the above honest review.

3.5 ? Not sure yet. Have to think on it.
Thought about it for days. I have decided it is

I love Nina Croft, but I didn't love this story.

There were a few editing problems. Nothing massive. A paragraph that needed editing & a few wrong words.

My biggest problem was repetition. There were repetitive thoughts and dialog. This caused the story to bog down in many places. It hurt the flow of the story. Making it a boring read in many areas.

I liked both MC's, Finn & Rachel. I found Rachel's present life interesting. It just needed 'More''.
More Intensity.
More Passion.
More suspense.

The 1st book in this series was great. The 2nd was really good, but not as good as the 1st. Now this one is disappointing.

This means I will not be continuing with this series. Which is a shame. I really wanted to read all the Storm Lords stories.

She has other series that I love & I will continue with them.

RELEASE ME is the third instalment in Nina Croft’s adult STORM LORDS paranormal/ fantasy romance series focusing on a tight knit group of fallen angels who work for Stormlord Securities. This is Finn Stanton, and Rachel Miller’s story line. RELEASE ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lie is revealed where necessary although I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

NOTE: RELEASE ME was originally released in the 20 Shades of Shifter anthology.

SOME BACKGROUND: Over two thousands years earlier a small group of angels fell in love with a number of human females so in order to extend their time, the angels stole the Elixir of Life thus eliciting revenge from Gabriel and the Heavens above. The Storm Lords series follows the now fallen angels, as they struggle to find the women they love before the thousands years of the Covenant comes to a close, and the fallen angels owe their remaining days to the Queen of the Abyss.

Told from several third person perspectives including Finn and Rachel RELEASE ME focuses on the rekindling romance between Finn Stanton and Rachel Miller. Close to two thousand years earlier Finn lost the only woman he would ever loved but in the ensuing time watched from the side lines as each reincarnation of the woman he loved meant he would continuously lose his heart and his soul. With the approach of the end of the Covenant Finn must chose between head and heart but in doing so places the woman he has always loved in the direct path of danger and death. What ensues is Finn’s slow seduction of the Rachel Miller, and the potential fall-out as someone else demands Finn’s love for all eternity.

Rachel Miller always knew she was something different. Growing up sheltered, in a strict, religious compound, our heroine has always had dreams that could not be explained. Deathly afraid of water, the young widow and mother knew immediately that Finn had always been part of her life. Finn would not break the rules again, fearing the death of the woman that called to his heart but time was running out and Rachel had yet to proclaim her love for the angel that destroyed her life.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Finn’s fellow fallen angels including Killian, Bryce, Caden Wolfe and Phoebe (Remember Me #1), Torrin Stormlord and Bella (Return to Me #2); Queen of the Abyss Lilith, and her daughter Cassia, the angel Gabriel, as well as Rachel’s grandfather Pastor Papi Stanton, her mother’s former father in law Senator Jeremy Danvers, her son Jacob, and an assortment of wolf shifters close to Finn’s heart.

RELEASE ME is an exciting tale of mythology and spirituality; a story of angels, and fallen angels; of one man’s desperate attempts to save the woman that he loves, and of one woman as she blossoms into the beauty she was always meant to be. The premise is intriguing, spell-binding and entertaining; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are colorful and charismatic.

This was first published on my blog "Lecture toute une Aventure"

For my first step into this universe i was happily surprised as i didn't feel as i was missing any important elements, we get a few background info and learn more about the universe along the story, so even if it's book 3 you can start with this one and, like me, jump on what you missed after.

Finn is an alpha but one very protective...and i guess the wolf part is part of the reason that while alpha he doesn't try to dominate Rachel. On the contrary, he still feel guilty for what happened thousand years ago and he is willing to pay for that.
I loved to see him try to do the right thing.

Rachel has a kind of secluded life but for someone with her power it was probably best as she is really a good person, she is very innocent and following her instinct. She grew on me very quickly.

I loved the universe with angel, fallen ( or so called) angel but more importantly i loved to se how each character lived the situation and still kept hope.

i would say that i only regretted 2 things, one part 2 (or max3) paragraphs seemed to me as repetition and in such a short book, i don't need to have explanation repeated to me ( then in an arc it can happen and final version could differ slightly so it didn't affect my opinion). Then...the ending i would have loved to know more about what Gabriel thought of Cassia intervention because it should definitively count as a breach of the contract and i would have loved to see the reaction of the wolves after but it's only me

so i do recommend this book if you love paranormal romance with fallen angel and shifters

Finn has known where his lost wife Rachel was located for many years now and has kept an eye on her to be sure she is happy. When he gets word that her father had died he goes to check on her and finds her in mortal danger. Not only that, but her son has been taken by her grandfather and she will not get him back without Finn's help. The only trouble is that by saving her he may have condemned her.

Rachel has always had disturbing dreams off loss and death. She has been content to live an isolated life within the religious sect run by her mother's father. When her father's father comes to see her and wants her to come to DC with him and bring her son, she refuses. Days later men try to grab her and she is rescued by a wolf. She cannot believe it when the wolf turns into a man. A man she is drawn to. A man who seems to come from her dreams.

Finn now has five days to win Rachel's love or she will be lost to him, and her son, forever.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

How do you live with yourself when you have betrayed the woman you love, to her death, as well as your fellow Angels and God? Well, just ask Finbarr Stanton; he has been trying to figure it out for 2,000 years. Now, his love has returned and Fin has a choice to make.

I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I ended up reading it in about 2 hours because I could not put it down. While this is the 3rd in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone but it definitely leaves me wanting to read the first 2 books as well as the rest of the series when it comes out. The ending did leave me with a few questions, that I won't ask here because of potential spoilers, but, overall, a great book.

I will say that, if you are extremely religious, this is not the book or series for you.

Also, I signed up for this book as an ARC (not from Goodreads) and it was sent to me, free of charge, in the form of an ebook download.

Release Me by Nina Croft is a 5 star read. This is book 3 in the Storm Lord series.
Finnbarr Stanton has been on earth almost 2000 years, he is an angel who went against the laws of heaven for the love of a human woman. Along with a few other angels he stole the elixir of life and gave it to their human wives. Now the most recent incarnation of his wife, Rachel Miller is in trouble and Finn can’t stop himself from getting involved to help her but a centuries old agreement could mean he loses her and his own life.
This story captured my attention from the first page, I loved the characters and can’t wait to read more from this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I loved this fallen angel romance! It's the third book of the Storm Lords series and it's just as good as books one and two. Finn and Rachel's story is accurately described in the book blurb so I won't rehash that. The writing is great. The author expertly conveys the many emotions they go through during the course of the story, especially the timeless love they have for each other. I loved these characters and I really cared about them. Release Me is an awesome addition to this excellent series and I can't wait for the next book.

This is the third “Storm Lords” book series which tells the story of Finn & Rachel. It reads as a stand alone but you really need to read the first two as they all interlink. Once you have read this you will want to read the first two.
I loved Finn & Rachel who were both very believable characters in a strong storyline.
This book has a different ending to the others so kept me hanging to the last.
I’m hoping for more in the series now that Nina has come back to these fallen angels.
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC in exchange for an honest review but would have bought it anyway as I’m a great fan of Nina’s writing.

Even though I had not read previous ones I still wanted to try this one thanks to the story line. I was familiar also with the author's skill to be able to weave a story enough that it grabbed you most times. There is Finn and Rachel in this with the story being a bit different. Noble though he was trying I like things go different. Also there is that saying about that one word with the example of that being shown in this. Longing is also a terrible feeling with sometimes it takes control. The race in this also has you pulled to the edge with anticipation. This author captures you giving you alot but also filling you with plenty. Good reading from beginning to end.

Release Me is the third installment of Nina's StormLords series. This time the story is Finn and Rachel's. I was fascinated by the story line of this whole series and Finn's turn did justice to the previous two. I loved the emotional conflict of both Finn and Rachel and the fact that they were both prepared to give their life in favor of the other. The end of this installment I did not see coming. I was on the edge of my seat right till the very last word. Nina is on my list of favorite authors and has actually pushed ahead of a couple of the others to take her spot very near the top. Thoroughly recommend this series.

I received an arc of this book and just finished reading it. I loved it. This is the third Stormlords book and can be read without having read the earlier books, I hadn't and I had no trouble understanding the universe Ms Croft has created. I do want very badly to read the first two books now. The characters are compelling and believable.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance especially steamy ones filled with fallen angels, shifters, and a time limit.
