Best friends from college. Plus-ones since med school. A chance for something new...

Jace Crawford heals hearts for a living. More than that, medicine is his life. To become the leading cardiothoracic surgeon on the west coast, he’s made sacrifices. No social life. He barely has time to sleep. Love? Forget about it. But when everything goes horribly wrong on his table, and he unexpectedly loses a patient, Jace is suspended from work.

When a man has nothing but his job, what does he do when that’s gone?

Joy Thompson collects unwanted strays. A dog with one eye, a three-legged cat, a bird that swears like a sailor? All part and parcel of her veterinary business. It helps pass the time.
Until Jace calls out of the blue to ask her out on a real date. Spending extra time with him is dangerous. Her feelings for her best friend have always been stronger than simple companionship. If she gets attached, what happens when he goes back to work and leaves her behind?
But as the weeks progress, falling for each other is inevitable. This time, Jace’s heart is the one that will need fixing before both of them end up broken.

2 stars for the animals. Every one else gets Zero.

I can’t relate to this woman. Or any woman who pines after a man for so long. If that’s makes me pathetic for not liking this book then f*ck, yes I’m pathetic then.
They had known each other since they were in college and now a couple of months ago he started noticing her as a “woman”.

The heroine is so amazing (cue, eye roll here) when the hero holds her hands, her nipples puckered.
Yeah no I can’t say I relate to this heroine. Yes they both dated what I can’t understand is why the need to throw the OW in our face. Why did I need to know that he had fun with this OW when he was with her?

Drama: the woman he slept with who’s also a doctor works with hero, she makes a pass at him when he says no she threatens him to sued him and to lied that he raped her. She gets fired by hero’s boss. Hero also makes his job his first and only priority. Not seeing the heroine for a month. And when they made a date he doesn’t show up until 3 hours later. He gets jealous she’s talking to a client from work who only stopped at her table to talk to her for a bit. Her father calls her a selfish because she hasn’t taken the time to go see the hero. I mean it’s not enough that she calls him and texts him and hero doesn’t answer those calls. she needs to take her ass and go chased him. The heroine ends up apologizing for getting upset that his job it’s his priority.

“It can’t be lust. I’m the one who’s pined after Jace for years, not the other way around.”

Love With Me is a friends-to-lovers story following Jace and Joy. These two have an amazing and easy friendship together that I loved seeing. The building relationship between them was slow to form but I thought that was best for them. We got to see how much they cared for each other as friends and then how the grew to be something more. Definitely a book I would recommend reading.

4 ‘Friendship Love to Romantic Love’ Stars

Awww… Love With Me is just that: ALL kinds of Love, in all shapes and forms! Sweet, super sexy, emotional, and that trademark KP realism that just touches our hearts, Jace and Joy’s story is another With Me In Seattle success!

Knowing going in the premise and that Jace and Joy have been friends for the longest time, the very first year of college, I have to say I was surprised with the timing of the book, in which their book started. From the acknowledgement of their deep connection and true friendship in the Prologue, we are transported to a moment of enlightenment by Jace, driven also by other factors regarding his work, and a shift in the last couple of months of their relationship, he now realizes what has been also standing there right in from of him, his one true love.

I can’t explain what’s happening, other than I just can’t stay away from her.

From this point on, it was full steam ahead in the romantic spectrum, and no wonder, after all the years of complicity and friendship, the shock was only the amount of sexual attraction that they had been in denial of. Once that was uncovered… Oh la, la, the sizzle was ON!!!

And every inch of the bottom of my foot is directly connected to my libido. Screw reflexology, this is vaginaology.

Joy truly was a joy of character: strong willed, independent, sassy and smart, much like most of Ms. Proby’s female characters, she was exactly the type of character we can relate, and feel a kindship with (minus the hate for shopping in this case, lol).

Now Jace… Well, for a nerdy boy, he sure turned out a steamy hot man and lover! His confident and passionate nature regarding his work, truly reflect on his determination and romantic approach and decision to move them forward to where they were always meant to be. No one can say he didn’t woo and wowed her in the proper way. With his problems at work, he sure focused all that surgeon attention on proving to Joy, just how much they could risk, because they were meant to be.

“I’ve loved you for almost half my life,” I say into her hair. “But Joy, I’m in love with you.”

“It’s evolved from friendship love to romantic love,”

I have to say I was indeed surprised by the moment Ms. Proby had chosen to bring us into the story, because the timing felt kind of abrupt and that we couldn’t attest to that level of deep and natural friendship I expected to witness, as well as the slow development – or realization – towards these romantic feelings. That being say, I also understand the image of enlightenment and new step, Kristen Proby wanted to give us with this timeline, so that we could truly enjoy the LOVE story, and with the all snippets and revelations of their years of friendship that were revealed along the way, in the end we got the full picture, and though best friends, they hadn’t been that active participants in the coming years, in each others lives, specially due to their super busy professions, therefore cementing the believability of the timing and the shift in their loving feelings towards one another.

She’s everything good in my world. She’s home.

Without a doubt another success in one of my all time fav series, and how amazing it was to see so many of the guys and girls from the WMIS gang! I truly am overjoyed with the return of this extraordinary series that hooked me up on all things KP, and with all those teasing moments regarding Levi and Starla, I’m DYING for their story!!! Let the stalking for the next With Me in Seattle begin! <3 <3 <3 <3

“This is who we are, Joy. This is you and me. Always. Even when it’s hard. When we fight and when we’re happy. We love each other.”

The sweetest friends to lovers!

4,5 stars

Since the very first book (Come Away With Me), I'm in love with this series, this author and her work. I love her characters, the sweetness and sexiness of the stories and how the heroes are alpha but caring, and heroines are adorable but strong and independent.

Reading her books is always easy and relaxing. And it wasn't different this time.

Love With Me is a friends-to-lovers story about Joy and Jace, two best friends since colege. They've always been together, through good and bad, but being both so focused on their careers (he is a cardiac surgeon and just nominated chief of surgery, and she is a veterianarian and has her own clinic) they tended to be together only here and there.

But when Jace is faced with an imposed leave, they started spending even more time together, and they finally realized that their feelings weren't just for friendship.

"I've loved you for almost half my life. But, Joy, I'm in love with you"

Being best friends for fifteen years, then being lovers, they had a lot to adjust to, they had compromises to make and they had to learn how to deal with their career and their need for each other. But all her obstacles were worthy, because in the end, they had so much more than they were looking for all those years.

They had their dream jobs. They had their families, they had their love, they had each other. They had it all.

"My feelings for Joy are changing, and have been for some time now. She's aleays been my friend. We're kindred spirits. But it's more than that.
She's more than that"

Sitting Here Stunned

Remember this is just one person's opinion.

I have NEVER not loved a book by Kristen Proby. NEVER. But I didn't like this one. I didn't like the H/h, what little we knew of them. I didn't like them apart or together. I didn't like the supporting characters. The 'conflict' was silly, and the resolution sillier. Really, Dad? Your daughter's fiance ghosts her for a month, she tells you she's pregnant and hurt, and you say she's at fault? Really? I'm struggling to figure out what or who we were supposed to feel warm and fuzzy about. The animals? What happened to Angela and the babies? Even Proby's trademark girls' night fell very flat. The whole book felt rushed and superficial.

One positive for me: I really think I could like Levi. I'm hoping Levi and Starla's story is next in this series.

I will not abandon this author. She has given me so many smiles over the years. And only one dud out of a significant and growing pile of wonderfulness. So, this gets filed and I can't wait to get onto the next read from one of my favorites.

This was a lovely reading! I enjoyed it a lot. And I liked that it was drama free and all about the sex! 😏😉 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Jace was pretty H.A.W.T!!!

Jace and Joy were great and I loved their chemistry and friendship. They stayed true to their word to talk about everything as friends and as lovers as well!

My only complain was how quickly everything changed from friends to lovers. I wanted a different approach in their relationship!

Ohhh man the cover is so damn good!!!🔥🔥🔥

P.S. Can’t wait for Levi and Starla’s book!! If there is any!🤨🤪

I luv Jace so much.

I think Jace Crawford has just become my favourite. He is so amazing. The way he is with his best friend Joy is great. There relationship is so good being friend for so long and being so close. It's hard not to fall for each other. Joy has alway has feeling for Jace buanted to wreck there friendship she would rather that than nothing at all. But Jace had started feeling the same. He was noticing more about Joy and he had to do something about it. They are so close that they know each others family well and get along. They are never apart but work left is hectic. They both have really good jobs and have worked there backsides off. But things have gotten a lil crazy for Jace and he finds himself with a lot time on his hands. This is where things start goin well with Joy and Jace.

I really enjoyed this book, but to be honest I knew I would. This series is one of my favourites so I was delighted to more of it. The Crawford brothers are a great addition. I luv best friends to lovers and Jace and Joy were just so good together they just had to be together. It was great to more of Wyatt and Lia and I m dying for more of Levi's story thats goin to be so good. I would highly recommend this book I luvd everything about. I m looking forward to more of this series.

The With Me in Seattle series is a re-read set of books for me. I love this family and all their friends and extended family. I was sad to see it end but then--yeah---the author is bringing us more!!

Jace is brother to Wyatt who is engaged to a Montgomery cousin--got that. Even if you haven't read the series, this one will be a perfect read for you. Friends to lovers written better than I have read in a long while. Jace and Joy are not young lovers but have been best friends for over 15 years. They hang together. They are each other's plus one. They get each other inside and out.

A life altering event puts Jace away from work for awhile and the only one who can bring peace to his soul is his best friend. For once, he wants ....needs....for Joy to be more.

I appreciated the caution that they took in deciding to move forward. There was conversation about what a relationship meant to each of them. As always, this author brings great humor and banter to her stories. And in this one we have all the animals as secondary characters in their own right! Loved it all. Cant wait for more.

I’m bummed to say that this book just didn’t have the same magic for me as the first few Montgomery With Me Seattle books (examples: Luke & Nat, Jules & Nate, Will & Meg, Leo & Sam). Maybe it’s just me but I wasn’t feeling the MC’s of this one. Something was missing — I don’t know what — but I was bored in parts and other scenes felt like they had skipped fast forward. Bottom line is this — and I hate to say it — but if you were to ask me two weeks from now what I thought of this book, I wouldn’t be able to tell you what the book was about or what I liked about the MC’s. It’s an okay story but nothing I’m fan-girling over.

Thank you Social Butterfly PR and Kristen Proby for the ARC .

I love love love this series and this latest instalment is just as fantastic as the others.

Love with me is a beautifully written best friends to lovers story in the usual Kristen Proby feel good style.

Jace & Joy have been best friends since they were 19 and now in their mid 30’s the lines begin to blur. They are both very successful and career driven individuals, who are alsways each other’s plus one and when circumstances at work force Jace to take leave he spends every possible minute with Joy. When they finally admit how they feel for each other, they pull out all the stops and I loved their chemistry together!

I loved them together and separately. Like all the couples in this series the men are just perfect, mouth watering and swoony who love their woman completely. The woman are strong smart and independent and just beautiful inside and out.

What I love in every book is the appearances of the main characters from the previous books. I loved seeing Jules and Will - him holding his new baby at a family gathering, well let’s say Joy wasn’t the only one drooling over him.

Highly recommended for fans of this series.

My Review:

This was a interesting read and it wasn't a bad book or anything, but I almost DNF'd this book because of the heroine at times. She was so pretentious at times and way too hard on the hero. He is her best friend and there are times throughout the story that she treats him like he is beneath her. If I wasn't so invested in the hero, I would have passed on this one. I wanted to see his journey and what would happen with his practice. I did adore all the animal lovin' that is spread throughout delightfully in this story. There is some great family bond connections that we see as this book connects two series together and really had a blast with that aspect. I think fans of Kristen Proby will really enjoy this one but personally its my least favorite of the series so far.

Save your money

The hero is a selfish man so involved in his career that it’s more important than his fiancé. And the heroine, the fiancé, actually apologizes for not being more understanding of his lack of communication and not showing up or returning her phone calls and texts. Even after a change in their circumstances he still “needs” his job more than his family despite cutting back on his hours.

Jace & Joy
Awe I loved these two. Friends to lovers are always my favorite trope. They have an established relationship and when you add falling in love it makes it that much sweeter.

They both have a high demanding job so I figured something with the jobs was going to be the conflict and I was right. But what I enjoyed the most was what Joy’s father says to her. It made me think yay he was busy but she could have made the effort to.
Loved it and the narration.

Love With Me initially intrigued with me its premise. I picked this novel out because of its high ratings in goodreads and because I was interested in how the transition between just-friends-to-something-more would play out. However, this completely let me down – the protagonists were incredibly boring and had absolutely no chemistry.

Newly appointed as the Chief of Surgeon, Dr. Jace Crawford has been working extremely long hours performing cardiothoracic surgeries and dealing with the responsibilities associated with his new job. When he unexpectedly loses a patient in the middle of a surgery and faces a lawsuit from their family, he is forced to take a sabbatical and step away from the hospital. With so much more free time than he is unaccustomed to, he turns to his best friend of 15 years, Dr. Joy Thompson, to help him pass the time. Throughout those moments that they spend together, he realizes that he wants something more than just friendship and that he is willing to risk their relationship for love.

The romance was incredibly stilted and the progression between friends to lovers was not believable. There was so much telling, and not enough showing. Jace suddenly starts to develop feelings for Joy within 15% of the novel, even though there was no build-up to that moment. There may have been some build-up in the previous novels of the With Me in Seattle series, as Love With Me is the 11th book, but it’s supposed to be a stand-alone book that can be read by itself. Kristen Proby could have at least included some flashbacks, etc., that showed the longing and attraction between the two over the years. But instead, I found myself wondering why they were suddenly attracted to one another, when they never really felt or acted on it over the course of their 15-year friendship.

The conflict was also completely unnecessary and incredibly predictable – I saw it coming a mile ahead. I felt like Kristen Proby added this conflict just for the sake of having a conflict. As a result, it didn’t feel organic, but instead, contrived.

Another aspect that made it difficult for me to get invested in the novel, was the fact that the characters were one-note. They didn’t have any complex layers to their personality and they seemed too perfect. Their banter seemed so… agreeable, and even the moments they shared were so plain…. there was nothing interesting about the two of them. Maybe that’s why the conflict seemed so unnecessary and forced – everything would obviously work out. The characters also seemed interchangeable, even though it was writing in dual POVs! Throughout the novel, I was consciously aware of a slightly detached feeling in the writing style. Instead of being as one with the character, I felt like there was some distance between the reader and the characters: like we’re peering into their world. That narration style was probably what made me uninvested in the characters and their love story.

With such boring characters and a lamer romance (I was bored even during the sex scenes!), it was exhausting trying to finish this novel. Love With Me didn’t make me interested in trying another novel in this series, or really, any other Kristen Proby books.

With Me in Seattle is one of my favorite romance series and Love With Me did not disappoint. Jace and Joy bring a friend's to lovers series to the next level and sprinkled in so many juicy details to lead into the next story in the series. This is a dual perspective book that follows two doctors who have been best friends for fifteen years and when the relationship shifts to more it's not such a seemless transition. knows romance and will recommend every series I have read of hers to anyone who will listen.

Paging Dr. Hot and Swoony!
I mean... we already knew the sexy factor was set on high in Seattle.

*Cough, Cough... Luke-Issac-Nate-Will-Leo-Caleb-Matt-Mark-Dom.*

Seriously, this series is one of my favorites and as it grows, I love it every time.

Love with Me falls under the friends to lovers trope. Jace and Joy have been friends for a really long time. They've been each other's support during the toughest of moments. So when Jace is put on a professional leave due to an investigation, their friendship takes turn bringing those unrequited emotions to life.

If you've read, love and follow the previous Seattle books, you will appreciate knowing it continues to have the Proby signature of friends, family, and fun times. I mean, no one does girls night out like this crew. Also, there's a new romance brewing.. which makes my heart swell because it means this series is NOT done yet. *Insert: happy dance*

I loved this book so much I read it in two sittings. Be ready to fall in love in Seattle one more time.

A beautiful bestfriends to lovers story, which is a favorite of mine! Jace Crawford is the new Chief of Surgery, an amazing surgeon and secretly in love with his bestfriend. Joy is an animal lover, a sought after vet and secretly in love with her bestfriend. These two have known each other since college and were always afraid to act on their feelings but what happens when you can't resist each other any longer??? Guess you'll have to read this sweet, sexy, swoon-worthy read to get all the goods on these two.

I enjoyed Love With Me, a romantic story for Joy and Jace who have been best friends for fifteen years and when they start spending more time together feelings develop, and the sexy times start.

This was a sweet friend to lover’s story going about living their day to day life with no drama.

Looking forward to Levi and Starla’s story.

I have read all of Kristen Proby’s books, I always enjoy them, but the couples don’t stay with me anymore like they used to, I have soon forgotten them, it has been a while since I have given one of her books 5*, the stories read the same no major shock or surprises anymore.

Only Will Montgomery made an appearance a short one.

I will continue to read her books, but I am no longer super excited and start it as soon as it arrives on my kindle at midnight.

I wish she would cut down on all the frown/frowns and frowning this really annoyed me with this on, 51 times they were used but it felt a lot more.

there was no preamble whatsoever. male doctor hero gets sued by a dead patient's family. he goes to seek comfort from his best friend. then, his dick starts to twitch. her vagina starts salivating, since she's been in love with him for forever. all that in the first 20 pages. sigh. not written well at all, IMO. i felt like proby started in the middle, with the end already as clear as day, with about 200 pages of nonsense inserted in between the two.

I liked not loved it but the fact that I read it in just a few hours cover to cover really says something - so ... 4 not 3 stars. It'd be nice if we could give half stars but ...

This book really just hit the spot. Everything was annoying me and pissing me off or not working and the times are shit and Kristen Proby delivered with a lovely contemporary romance.
It's sexy, realistic, and really draws you in.

I really enjoy friends to lovers stories - and I find them more realistic since they already know each other.

Jace and Joy have been friends since freshman year of college, which was 15 years ago, so I figure they're 33-35 depending on the time of year/ their birthdays etc. (I THINK at one point it said Jace is 35 but ... it didn't register with me.) Regardless he gets named to chief of surgery FAST. Good for him.

I loved that that was depicted realistically with the no life/work-life balance.
There ... it didn't really seem like the whole "Jace finally asks out Joy" it kinda just ... happens - but it fits for them.

I liked the secondary characters and cameos from others too that I've read in the series. I haven't read all the books, some I think might not work for me and haven't tried. (WHO KNOWS - SOMETIMES I'm right - mostly I am :X but sometimes I'm totally off. These are not the times to try it though.)

BUT ANYWAY. I appreciated something relatively low conflict - not to say there wasn't any. There definitely was, and I was afraid things were going to go SOUTH - but Jace and Joy even in their blowup(s) - really they only have one BIG fight ... a few small spats but I mean those totally make sense too.

Basically nothing was overwrought or manufactured/shoe horned in, but there definitely is angst and drama.

I can see myself re-reading this book definitely.
And the animals! <3
:P And Will Montgomery. I'm tempted to re-read his book.

Anyway B- or B-- I think

Kristen Proby books have a certain feel to them, at least in my opinion. Yes, there is angst, and heartbreak, and emotion. But, it always feels real...and this was no exception. Her books make you feel like you are with the couple, as they fall in love, as they navigate the relationship, as they deal with the changes to their lives with the relationship and the way they end up with their happily ever after.

Jace and Joy are friends. Best friends. The kind of friends who have such a connection that they can keep the friendship strong no matter how long they are apart. It's the kind of friendship that comes from shared experiences, and time, and knowing one another inside and out.

However, the relationship is changing, and both of them feel like their relationship is changing, and that things are moving from friendship to romance. Both of them feel it, but both are afraid to change the relationship, to lose the friendship.

But, as often happens when there is a friends to lovers story, one of them has to make the move, to change the relationship and to take the risk. I absolutely love the scene when this happens and it was one of my favorite parts of the book, although I am not going to spoil it here. It just worked for me, and it showed not only how he was feeling, but also the level of trust between them.

I also loved Joy's father, and his take on the relationship with Jace and Joy. I thought his advice was both insightful and felt real, and authentic. I think, especially in a new relationship, the navigation of the changes the relationship brings about are hard to navigate, and there was an authenticity to the for Joy when the time Jace has for her changes.

I have said more than once that I just enjoy this author's titles, and this was no exception. I recommend this title.

The sign that you thoroughly enjoyed a book is at the end in your head your screaming "NO it can't be over"! Yep that's what went through my head as I read the last words in this amazing book! I loved Noel and Jace! I loved having so many characters from previous books show up (seriously I need a family tree insert before each book just to help me keep all these amazing characters straight)! I loved their romance, family, commitment and that they were truly best friends first than each other's one true love! I loved Joy's family and her dad how awesome was he?!? The fact that characters in a book behave normal and make you see them as real people says amazing things about Kristen Proby's bad@$$ery as an author! I love this series and all the new characters joining the With Me In Seattle crew! I want to join this over the top brilliant family or at least be friends with them, come on I need a girls night out With Me in Seattle style! 4.5 stars

Love With Me is the eleventh book in the series With me in Seattle and comes to tell the story of Jace and Joy two characters who are best friends for many years and who after losing Jace a patient on the operating table and be away from work for being being processed by the patient's family spend more time together and the relationship dynamics of these two begin to change.I liked this book, even though I thought it was predictable and cliché, I found myself captivated by the story. Love With Me is a sweet, romantic, cute book. A good read for that, like light books, no dramas and a romantic story.

Another amazing book!! Kristen makes it so hard to choose a book boyfriend!! Jace is sexy, romantic, smart and did I mention sexy?? The love that he and Joy have is sweet and natural. Starting as friends and making the transition out of the friend zone into the “more” zone was effortless. Yes he can be too focused on work but they make it work the best they can!! LOVE LOVE LOVE
