The Critically Acclaimed No Sanctuary Series, Now in One Complete Edition! No Sanctuary is an epic survival/thriller post-apocalyptic series that asks the "what if" question that lurks in the back of everyone's mind. A nationwide terrorist attack. A mysterious stranger. One chance to make it home. The country in shambles and the country's transportation capabilities are crippled beyond repair. Frank Richards barely escapes with his life when he watches his truck explode in front of his eyes. As chaos descends across the country, Frank's home-grown survival and preparedness training and the help of a mysterious stranger he meets are the only things he can rely on to see him safely across the thousand miles separating him and his loved ones. Frank Richards has been an accountant for most of his life, but when the economy took a turn for the worse he was forced to take the only job he could find - driving tractor-trailers cross-country. Thanks to his parents being dyed-in-the-wool prepper and survival experts he's learned enough to keep him alive. If he wants to make it from Maine to Texas, though, he'll have to figure out how to get along with the mysterious stranger that he's picked up along the way. With skills as strange as her background, Linda's far more prepared than Frank to survive in a fallen world. But in a world with no safety, no security and no sanctuary it takes more than one person to survive. Read the whole series in one go

I read a lot, and at the moment almost exclusively in the post apocalyptic genre.

I really enjoyed the series and recommend it to people who enjoy this genre.
The characters are well written, the story is well researched, the story has good pacing and keeps you engaged.

I loved the concept, I found it unique and presented just plausibly enough for me to suspend my disbelief (the sweet spot).

I was also glad for a series with male and female leads that doesn't revolve around romance and love nonsense! Who has time for that when the world is ending right?!

I would have given 5 stars, I just personally wasn't a fan of the ambiguity the ending brought. It felt slightly unfinished, although I understand why Mike made that call.

I'm a big fan of Mike Kraus, a titan in this genre! Keep doing what you do Mike!

The book started off good enough, until they stopped and traded bullets for gas.

Meth heads.. you can tell because all their teeth are black and rotted but no one noticed until later.
Meth heads who work with technical trackers and develop ways to follow people.
Meth heads who would rather sit around and plan how to get even that use meth. Meth heads who suffer no ill effects except for crappy teeth.

Did the author do ANY research??
By he time users teeth turn black they have:
Disorientation, apathy, confused exhaustion lack of direction or understanding. Strong psychological dependence where they can think of nothing else. Psychosis. Depression. AND soon after...
Damage to the brain similar to Alzheimer’s disease, sever stroke and epilepsy.

I have to say that this and other stupid things caused me to start skimming, and it got worse. Not better.

CRAPPY BOOK.

Another well written post apocalyptic thriller. I do love how can read all books at once! Only recently 'found' Mike Kraus and have become a big fan of his since.

Loved the characters of Frank and Linda, and how though at first Linda is the tough one , Frank pulls through in the end and shows he can be just as much a bad ass! \

Moves onto the Long Fall series!

He’s done it again!

Another brilliantly written post apocalyptic thriller that draws the reader in completely. I could hear the sounds, smell the decay, smoke, etc and see the surroundings as if I was there. And it is definitely worth reading his end notes - they really help add to the story. As Mike says, although the story is about events - bombs, virus attacks, etc, it is the people that matter and what makes the story seem so real. ‘What matters—what always and only matters—are the stories of the people. Their struggles. Their hopes. Their dreams. Their nightmares. Their road from disaster to survival that reflects in us our belief that, no matter what, we can press on and survive whatever happens.’

So much more than apocalyptic fiction!

I loved following the lives of Linda and those who walked into her life. The character building is so strong that whether these folks stayed for a few hours, days or much longer, their interactions were significant. I won’t go into any plot detail so that I won’t spoil anything but this is definitely a set I am proud to own because it will surely be read many times. I am so glad that I bought the omnibus rather than individual books so that I didn’t have to take the time to purchase and download each one separately as I finished another.

I have reviewed each episode separately, so will just give an overview. The box set cost me 99p, certainly a bargain. The writing style was fast-paced, though there were some errors and poor grammar. Using 'off of' is annoying; it spoils the flow (just 'off' or 'from' is correct).

However, I liked the characters and their development. The plot strayed from the usual format, though it did feel natural. I didn't enjoy so much of the 'soldier stuff', but it did fit well into the scenario.

Overall, it was a scary (because it happens, if not to such a degree) and entertaining story.

Worth a look.

This six box set kept me busy on the weekend. Very interesting read and full of a lot of adventure, was like a roller coaster ride with Linda and Frank. Two very different people that come together and help each other get to their desired destinations. There’s twists and turns, things you expect, and a lot of things you don’t. I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of Linda and Frank, the friends they meet, the way they both adapt, especially Frank, and the way they change and grow throughout the book.
Well worth the read.

Another fantastic tail.

I read a negative review of one of Mike's books bringing attention to minor errors in the script and a lack of details in pieces of technical equipment. How sad can you get.
Mike, I'll accept that you don't need to be a scholar of doctorate standard.
All I want is for you to continue with portraying the skilled imagination of your story telling. This is the 2nd full series I've read and I'll be going onto another as soon as I've finished here.
A great read, thank you.

From the start it goes all out

Loved this story and the characters in it. Frank and Laura work well together and the possibility of this happening in today’s world is ever present if we don’t be careful and keep our eyes open. I chuckled about the Phoenix stuff since it is pretty evident that the author has never been there but it didn’t detract in anyway from the great story telling.

Some kind of vaporous terrorist attack makes every tractor trailer simultaneously explode, along with oil refineries, etc. Things immediately devolve into Mad Max world. Pudgy trucker Frank hooks up with female prepper Linda. Annoying present tense style. No tactical or law enforcement accuracy. No idea how military operates either. No bueno. Characters have no depth. Three bad guys chase them in “dented” 86 Corvette convertible, hmm. I thought this was a fiberglass 2-seater.

Sophisticated, intricate novels

An action-filled plot and engaging characters, Linda and Frank, draw the reader in from the first pages and keeps them there until the last sentence in the series. Amazing tension throughout the books and a journey of survival, sacrifice, and self-discovery make this Mike Kraus series one of the best and an absolute must read.

Absolutely loved it!

I loved the characters but had to disagree a bit with Frank's view on driving a truck. My deceased husband was a driver an loved the job. It just has to be a part of you and your family. Back to the book, it's scary to think about our country under attack and let's hope it hope it only happens in book. Or our gov catch it first. Great book Mike!

Survival

As with any book, the last final page leaves you with either wanting more or glad it is finally over. I wanted more! With all the destruction, a rebuilding can lead to other characters and storylines. So sad to know there are really people in our world who are just as evil as the character in this book. Jesus keep us from all evil.

Awesome post-apocalyptic story.

This has probably been the most realistic story I have read in this genre. And probably the scariest since I do think there are guys like Omar out there, educated right here gathering Intel towards future devistation. This story didn't need an EMP event just mass terror and chaos to bring us to our knees. Great read.

No Sanct

I really enjoyed this series. The building of both the story and characters was smoothly and excellently done. And it is always great to have men and women both being strong and equal heroes. Oh, and a little love thrown in the story only made it even better. Especially when that love is just so honest and real.

Unreadable!

I was excited to find this book. As a professional driver I have always thought a driver would make a great main character for a novel Of this genre. However the author shows ignorance and lack of research into the trucking industry in the first chapter. This makes it difficult to think that the rest of the novel will be any more credible or well written.

Pretty solid "SHTF" series. I enjoyed it, although I will say I like the earlier books in the series; the whole quest to find and neutralize the Middle Eastern enemy I didn't like as much as the other events that the two main characters found themselves in. But maybe that's just me; I still definitely enjoyed the series.

Survival? Not really Thriller? You bet!

I read the series because, well.... post apocalyptic...so why not!? I was disappointed at first because this is more "thiller" than PAS. But then, I started to get into the story of Linda, FrNk and Jackson and the monster they were chasing. It was an EXCELLENT thriller too! Spend your money ~spend your time: WELL WORTH IT!

Wow!

Mike Kraus,so writing leaves me completely breathless. The characters are so well developed that you feel as they are new friends. Although the same genre, each series is very different. Again, thanks for the thrills. iain. nine. Keep on writing, and I will keep on reading!

didn’t like: points deducted for preface and introduction. very shallow relationship between two characters. lack of depth in character, pacing issues, and somewhat a lack of a point with respective goals/drive of both characters.
liked: terrorists targeting shipping as the end of the world.

A slow starter

Mike’s books are usually at a faster pace, where the action is really edge of the seat type. This series has you thinking more about what’s going on around the characters. So I really liked it. Mike always fleshes out his books with plenty of details but not too much, and he’s never missed an important one yet. Good job Mike!

Apocalyptic

I am not an expert! All I can say is I really enjoyed reading this set! And the fact I could get the set all at once! I like to immerse myself into a story. I want it to continue, and am usually sad to see it end! I really like the 3 and 4th main characters. I will look forward to reading more of your work!

Great Read

Good series. Just as the author stated in his final words, the action and intensity were important but what made an entertains and hard to put down book was the development of the relationships of the four main characters. Would highly recommend the series because of the relationship development. Well done, MilKe Kraus.

No

I liked the first half of the book. All post apocalyptic world. Then all of a sudden we get a cross between GI Jane and Mrs. James Bond. I was getting a tad bored the last third of the book and was basically skimming it. Sorry Mike Kraus.

Don't start reading of you have other things to do!

Linda and Frank seem like such complete opposites. It's interesting to see how their relationship develops, and how Frank realizes that he has a lot to offer.
