Julian knows it’s his responsibility to find a mate. After all, he’s the guardian of a young dragon, and she deserves to have a mother figure. But while his fellow dragons from Charok have been able to find their fated partners in this strange new world, Julian knows his is nowhere on Earth.

Naomi had secretly left Charok years ago when she became so ill, the energies of the planet would no longer sustain her failing dragon form. She’d always miss her ancestral home, but the rogue wizard who had assisted her promised that her transition would not only improve her life, but that of several others.

Little does she know the same wizard also helped several other dragons escape during the War of Storms, and years later on Earth, she’s shocked to find the one shifter she knew as her one true mate back on Charok.

Reuniting with Julian is like a dream come true, until the couple discovers a powerful demon has slipped into the living realm from the Otherworld along with Naomi. When they discover what this evil being is capable of, will these fated mates be pulled apart once and for all?

Julian's Mate is a 30,000 word standalone novella with steamy shifter scenes intended for readers 18+.

3 stars — I appreciated that this one was different from the previous 3 in that Naomi is also a dragon. I really enjoyed the prologue and learning why she left Charok. My heart broke for her having to make such an impossible choice, and for Julian not knowing what was going on but wanting the best for Naomi.

But…then we got to the present. And I didn’t quite understand what Julian’s aim was in studying the books. And then when I was hoping to learn more about Naomi now, we instead got Autumn’s POV for a bit. And since Autumn is my least favourite heroine in the series, I was less impressed. I guess I sort of got it, but still… Also of note — we still didn’t get any kind of wrap up from the previous book, though I only held out a little hope for that. And she was still as witchy with a b to her sister Summer.

As for the rest of the book…I feel like we got a lot of action, what with the conflict with Naomi…but I never felt like I got to know Julian OR Naomi, so I couldn’t even tell you what I liked or disliked about them.

I probably could have DNFd this one, but I just really wanted to find out how it was going to wrap up. And I got that…it wasn’t necessarily unsatisfying, but I wouldn’t call it satisfying either. But it’s a short book, so there’s that. 😛

Julian and Naomi always knew they belonged together. They thought they were separated with no chance at a future but life offered them another option.

Julian is trying to adjust to life on Earth but has no desire for a mate other than the one he had so long ago. Naomi has been alone on Earth until her circumstances changed. A happy life and love are a chance she never thought she would get. They make a great couple and it is rewarding to see them back together.

I have read the other books. You don't have to read them to enjoy the story but they do add to the experience as the other characters continue to be part of the storyline.

For adult readers.
This one has a dragon world and dragons can die from some sort of disease, that's a nice change. Most wizards don't get along with dragons, but one is willing to help a dieing Dragon by sending her to Earth. This wizards also seems to see the future or have visions. I like that they can bring eggs with them. This was good story, but I thought it started to drag on the middle for a little while.

An enjoyable read with Shifters and mates, and trouble around every corner. Nothing will keep these mates.

The pages kept turning because I wanted to know what happened.

These books are quick and easy reads.

Julian and Naomi sat together in Charok, talking about the strange illness she had which sapped all of her strength and kept her in constant pain all night. The mages and witches, who normally could heal anything, had no idea what this was or how to fight it. The only other thing left was to go to Earth, to permanently leave Charok. Even harder, she told Julian he could not follow her, he had to promise. It would have been easier to fly as dragons, but she didn’t have the strength now.

The wizard Varhan met her at the little hut and could see how much just this walk took out of her. Her wings were dragging on the ground. He prepared her with an application he painted on her scales and told her on Earth she would meet her true love – which alarmed her since she had met Julian here on Charok – and said her presence would allow three others to meet their true loves. The ground trembled as she chanted, then the ground opened and she fell through.

On Earth, Naomi had met Summer, Autumn, and Leah. When Naomi is killed in an accident, her spirit remained and her witch friends were able to bring her back. Unfortunately, a demon was also brought back! Naomi tries to handle the problem herself – but can she? What will happen now? What is their connection with this demon? She can’t put her friends and her mate, Julian, in danger! How will she send the demon back? Will she, Julian, and Kaylee ever become a family and find their HEA?

This is the final book in this series and is a wonderful way to end the story. The series tells about four dragon shifters -- Xander, Holden, Beau, and Julian – who had narrowly escaped from the planet Charok with their lives, arriving on Earth with the last dragon eggs that had belonged to their slain queen. Each of them was tasked with providing a family for themselves and the young dragons that they were able to save. This book is Julian’s story. Be sure to get your copy and see how this all turns out!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Daddy Dragon Guardians series and the final book. In this book, we learn Julian had found his mate before he was forced to flee Charok for Earth. Julian was in love with Naomi and she had to leave because she was sick. Naomi was sent to Earth and met Summer, Autumn and Leah. Naomi was killed in a car accident and her spirit was still in contact with the girls. Naomi was in a place of limbo until the girls could find a way to bring her back. Julian was also trying to find her, but he thought she was dead and he would never see her again. Holden urged Julian to try and find a mate on Earth, but he was not interested. When The girls managed to bring Naomi back, Julian felt drawn to Autumn's house, where he found her. They had a wonderful and loving reunion, until Naomi realized the girls also brought back a demon from limbo with her. Naomi knew the demon would harm everyone if she allowed him close to them, so she wanted to stay away to fight him alone. Julian knows something is wrong with Naomi and enlists everyone for help finding her and bringing her home. When they find her, they realize the danger with the demon and have to fight for their lives. I loved this book, i loved how Naomi and Julian's love survived their separation. I love how the men cared for the little dragons and found their mates with Naomi's friends. Julian and Naomi had a great connection and they were meant to be. Great end to a great series.

Meg Ripley is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I find her characters very entertaining and love the way in which she gives them things that people can relate to.
In this final installment of the series, Julian is happy for his brothers having found their mates but is aware that his mate left him long ago due to an illness.
Naomi left Julian and traveled to Earth when she became ill and would have died in their home of Charok. Dying unexpectedly due to a traffic accident, Julian did not know she was on Earth. Enter character from the previous stories, witch twin sisters Summer and Autumn, and their psychic friend Leah. They figure out a way to bring Naomi back from the beyond.
Julian feels something is different on Earth and can not help but follow his gut to find out what. There he finds his newly resurrected soulmate Naomi. Everything is going great for them until they discover something horrible has followed her back. It does have a great HEA and we get to find out what is going on with with the others from Charok.

A nice 4 ½ star lazy day afternoon read

Julian's Mate wraps up the Daddy Dragon Guardians series and can be read as a stand alone. The reader does not have to have read the first three, but I am going to get the other three in this series just to kill my curiosity on the back story of Beau, Xander, Holden and their mates. Featuring Julian, the last "single" dragon, and Naomi, a dragon that was sent to earth prior to the others. Their story actually began on Charok and ended in heartache when Naomi had to leave due to her health. A twist of fate and quite a bit of help is needed to bring these two back together, but they must still overcome some difficulties if they hope to have a happily ever after. This was a nice, relaxing afternoon read with plenty of surprises, steam, and plot twist to keep the reader engaged.

Leah, Summer and Autumn are doing their monthly ritual in calling to Naomi, a friend and dragon who had died years before in an auto accident. They manage to pull her to them but only for moments. A day or so later, a young man enters the store and asks Autumn for some help in doing a soul retrieval. Upon hearing this, Autumn starts to think about the idea of soul retrieval with bringing Naomi back. So she starts to investigate the idea. The following month they are ready to perform the soul retrieval and to supply her a body they use items like dirt, stones and plants and do a spell. It succeeds. They leave to let her rest and Julian shows up. Julian and Naomi had been true mates on their planet and are giddy they are together again. Then she sends him off when her instinct tells her something is wrong.
Fantastic story and characters.

He's the last dragon but he knows his mate isn't on earth.
I really loved this book. I felt so sorry for Julian as he knows who his mate was but also knows that his mate had fallen ill and died years ago. Its such a sad and touching tale. Now he devotes his time caring for his sweet daughter Kaylee and looking up information on Earth's magical spells.
Naomi has died.
I love the way that the girls all pull together to move Heaven and Earth to get just a glimpse of their friend. She's still in their hearts and in their thoughts.
This is the fourth book in the series and I'm assuming it's the last? But I could be mistaken.
Either way it's a sweet short read that brought a tear to this old dragons heart....ok it brought more than one but don't tell anyone!

I have adored this series from Meg Ripley! The dragon shifters from Charok have been magically sent to earth with the last four remaining eggs spawned by their Queen to preserve their species. Julian is the last of the male shifters who has not found his true mate on earth. His loneliness and despair stems from having a mate on Charok that disappeared before the war which sent the shifters and eggs to earth.
Each of these books in the series has a unique story; Julian's Mate is no exception. IMHO, Meg Ripley has continued to grow and expand her storytelling abilities. She has quickly become one of my faborite authors in the paranormal romance genre.

This was the book I liked the least in the series. Unlike the former books, I had trouble connecting with both main characters and I thought that the storyline was moving along a bit fast and with less detail than the previous ones. In addition, we also see a lot less of the baby dragon in this book, making the story less sweet. There were also some elements that weren't explained very well, like Naomi's special ability or why she was where she was in the first place.
One thing that was a positive surprise was the return of their enemy, a smart twist from the author.

To summarize, I didn't "feel" this book that much and the whole story seemed rushed, just a necessary ending of the series.

Wow! What more can I say.....I was so happy with how Julian's story turned out, it was the best one of the 4 stories!

Single dragon father Julian is just trying to get by with his adopted daughter Kaylee. With his fellow dragon's mated, Julian is feeling the need to find a mother for Kaylee ASAP.
Naomi is gone, yet that doesn't stop her best friends, Leah, Summer and Autumn from reaching out to her every month. And with a plan, the 3 bff's plan to get better communication with their friend.

A positively amazing read!!!

Final showdown...

This is the final story in the "Daddy Dragon Guardians" series. If you have read the other three stories, you already had an idea as to who was going to be Julian's mate. How this was going to be possible was a mystery. What we didn't know was that Julian had already met his mate before coming to Earth and had lost her to illness. Hmm... I see a "twist" coming on. Actually, this installment throws several several curve balls before the final showdown. Would love for Ms. Ripley to revisit this series somewhere in the future and tell the children's stories.

Julian and Naomi were mates on their home plant but Naomi was gravely ill and the only chance she had of survival was by leaving her home and the dragon she loves. Julian and his surviving dragon brothers are sent to Earth with the last remaining dragon eggs not knowing that Naomi was there after her friends bring her back to life after her accident but she wasn’t alone some one more sinister crossed over without her knowing and when she finds out she must destroy it on her own. Will Julian and the rest of his dragon brothers get there in time to help Naomi or has he lost her again for good.

The reading of this book can only be described as PERFECTION!!!! Julian's story will take your heart for a ride through the skies and stars. His story tells you of a love that transcends time and death. Of his long lost love that he found again and would do everything to protect and have her back in his life and heart. Along this epic ride you will find strong bonds of friendship. Deep loyalty and most of all; the most intense happily ever after. An epic read and most encouraged recommendation.

This series is charming, quirky and I really hope the read more of all the families! *Spoiler* do the other daddy dragons have kids, are they dragons, half dragons?? I need a family reunion book to read now... with that being said, read this book, although reading in order would be preferable so you know a little bit about the characters, but not necessarily needed. *Spoiler* I’m glad that Julian and Naomi found each other again and added an addition the family!!!

What a great story. I loved Julian's dedication to Naomi and they love that they have for each other. Their characters are well developed and the story is fantastic. There are twists and turns throughout the story. There is fabulous chemistry between our couple. It is a fast-paced, quick read but it is extremely good. The flow of the story is great the way it should be. This is definitely worth reading and won't disappoint.

An absolutely amazing quick read and what I assume is the final book in the ‘Daddy Dragons Guardian’ series. It is a beautifully written, fast pace, consistent and engaging page-turner. Finally Holden, Zander, Beau, and Julian, with the help of their mates are able to face and defeat the Creature responsible for the demise of their planet Charok. It is a very exciting read, and I recommend this series strongly. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was absolutely delighted to finally get to read Julians story, there is so much heartache for this strong alpha dragon shifter. He finally gets his mate with the help of our favorite dragons and their spunky mates. Especially when they realise she is their college friend. Unfortunately a huge blast from the blast returns and it takes all of them to defeat the enemy.

Another well-written story by Meg Ripley, I suggest you read the previous books first. But they are definitely worth it.

The final book in the series and it was the best one of this series, a well-written story that kept my interest throughout. It is Julian and Naomi's story both are from Charok but Naomi left their planet first as she could not live there any longer. Julian does not know she is on Earth until they meet again. This is a story of second chances there is drama, danger, suspense, and an evil villain. I want to read this series again. What a great book. It was super sweet how each man cared for the young dragons and found their mates with the help of Naomi's friends. Julian and Naomi had a great connection, true fated mates. I really like this series and how it follows a family of dragon shifters that arrive on earth following a tragedy on planet Charok. Each book is a separate story about one of the dragons that is tasked to provide a family for themselves and the last remaining dragon eggs from their home planet.

Julian

This is the first of a series about four dragons who had escaped from their planet to Earth to avoid certain death. Taking with them were the last four eggs laid by their dying Queen. Julia's story is a bit different from the other dragons' in their search for mates in that his mate had proceeded him to Earth. Unfortunately for him, she was killed in an accident. To tell you more about this adventure would spoil it for you, so get the first book and find out how Julian finds his true love. You will enjoy it.

I really enjoyed how this one went. I was worried about Julian. I had hoped that he and Naomi would find each other. And I had almost lost hope when I learned she had died. But I should have know that Leah, Summer, and Autumn would find a way to bring her back. And to think they did it because they missed their friend and had no idea she was Julians mate. I love their love and devotion to not only their mates and children but to their friend too! I really enjoyed this series!!

Julian lost his first love a long time ago, years before he and his friends escaped to Earth. All of his fellow dragons is happy and has found their mate on Earth, but when Julian finally finds love again, she brings more to the table than anyone could have foreseen.

Hand clapping for Meg Ripley's final book in the series! Julian and Naomi were mates back on their home planet. Julian assumed she was dead and was not going to look for anyone else on Earth. She is friends with Leah, Summer and Autumn and they help her get back to Earth from the "Otherworld". It's an adventure and the HEA that Meg gives you is the best surprise ever!!! I'm so glad I was able to read all the books in the series. Maybe Meg will give us books as the "kids" grow up????

I enjoyed reading the series but I was not a fan of this story and was a little disappointed. I loved the way the author brought all the characters together for the last book. The girls used their magic to bring their friend Naomi from the spirit world not knowing that she was Julian's true mate. It was a good read and worth checking out.

Excellent Read

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all four books of this series. Although the third book was a little disappointing; Meg Ripley's fourth novel did not disappoint. Naomi and Julian had a beautiful and fulfilling love until she became gravely ill. However, Julian remained true and with the exception of his adopted daughter, would never love another until he we reunited with his first love.

Great

Julian is a dragon shifter from Charok, he came to earth with 3 dragons and 4 dragon eggs after they were attacked. Now Julian is trying to find a mate to help raise his daughter. But what Julian doesn't know is his true mate he lost all those years ago is on Earth too and fate is pushing them back together. What will happen when they cross paths again? What will happen when danger shows up too? Will there be a HEA?
